heck of a week. Let's justgo ahead and get into it. I
mean we're fresh off the Royal rumble. Me and Billy just had a watch
party over at his house a coupleof days ago, so we saw everything
that happened and transpired. It explainhow the Royal Rumble was for you from
your perspective, What was it like? Everything just seemed like it went off

(01:15):
with the hen we know that there'sa couple mix up on your part with
the men and women's were all rumble. But other than that, how was
Royal Rumble like for you and everythingdown in Tampa this last weekend? It
was tremendous. Man. I likedeverything, every part of the Royal Rumble.
Man. Again, we had thesurprise entries. You know what I'm
saying that did what it was supposedto do, haddle things. And we're

(01:38):
not going to put that blame onme with the miscommunication as far as rumble,
I went in, I'm not doingthat. Billy might Yeah, Billy
that wouldn't know me. Man,They gave me the wrong paperwork, that's
right. And you also kind ofconfused it for a tag team match trying
to get the hot tag from Dominic, which you did probably my favorite part

(01:59):
of the rumble. I mean wewere we were dying laughing at the watch
party over here. Can kind ofexplain what's going through your mind? Where
are you get in the hot tag? I just felt the bit. I
felt like I needed to get thathot tag to come in there. It
was a tag match, right,I guess you could. I mean it
worked out right, you got thehot tag, you took it out the
hot tag man. Yeah, Imean you made some noise for sure,

(02:20):
but hey, our Truth, Ireally got to give you, give you
some flowers. Bro Back in twentyeleven, you had one of the most
underrated heel runs in WWE history.I'll say it right now. I remember
I was on vacation with my familythe same day of Capital Punishment when you
had a main event match with JohnCena for the Championship, and I insisted

(02:42):
we're all like out to dinner.I'm like, I got to be back
at the house because I'm ordering CapitalPunishment because Our Truth is winning the WWE
Championship tonight. So I'm giving yourfowers. Man. That was it was
some of the more entertaining stuff I'veseen, especially in the PG era.
Can you kind of talk about likethat that part of your career and you
know that really kind of catapulted youinto a different, you know, spot

(03:02):
on the cards. Really. Yeah, man, that was a very memorable
time in my career man still thinkabout it as up to this date myself
had Little Jimmy because he was apart of that time period as well,
you know what I'm saying, AndI think Capital Punishment was one of my

(03:22):
other than myself and miss going againstthe Rock and John Cena, Capital Puns
probably is up on the top listmat the top three paper views I've done
and top you know what I'm saying, I did. I love my heel
part. Yeah, It's one ofthe things that we like to talk about
on this show is character work, and that's one of the things that the
truth that you're very much known forand everyone knows within the last couple of

(03:44):
years with the twenty four to sevenChampionship, You're just always good for a
breath of fresh air and a goodcomedy moment. But for ogs like me
and Billy and I who've been watchingfor a while, and even some people
that remember your old TNA Impact daysand how your heel worked, they and
what's it like to kind of beable to change your to be able to
change your style up You said itwas very fun working like a heeled like

(04:06):
then back in twenty eleven, whatwas it like kind of being able to
have like a mean guy personality.I love it, man. I think
everybody should be able to go backor forth, you know what I'm saying,
should be able to hit that switchand rotate around to reverse the mirror.
You know what I'm saying. Ithink it's part of being in the
business. It's part of taking yourcharacter, taking your craft to the next

(04:28):
level. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I mean again, that was one
of some of my favorite content fromthe PG era, and honestly, I'm
gona speaking it into existence. Man. Hopefully one day our Truth will have
his Kofe Mania like moment like KofeKingston did finally got his flowers at WrestleMania
thirty five. I mean, doyou do you still have goals like that
for yourself? To win the worldtitle one day, to be a single

(04:51):
champion. Is that still something that'sin the cards for you. I still
want to win the world title.I still think I think the roof would
come one glued. Oh yeah, you know what I'm saying. And I
really really I think Bill he probablyone of my favorites now, yeah,
man, And I really appreciate youman, following my career, giving me

(05:12):
my flowers as well and putting yourtwo cent in and I really appreciated absolutely.
Man, it's Billy. Billy isa nice guy, Okay, people.
People need to understand just because he'sa football coach and he yells all
the time at at other teenagers doesn'tmean he's necessarily a mean dude. You
gotta yell sometime. I mean yougotta have some aggression in you, and

(05:33):
that's how you get some of thesekids straight. Right. Uh. I
had a just just a quick otherquestion just because I want to you talk
about throwing back. I remember ourtruth when you're coming in with road Dog
and you were k quick right andyou have you had the tag team.
What are the chances or how longdo you how much you get asked about

(05:54):
it? Or do you still isit ever on in your head? Do
you ever have to listen to getrowdy? Do you ever still listen that
song? Is it ever brought upto you at all backstage? A lot?
If I can, if I canwear to sing it all the time
to me, as soon as yousing it ridy all the time? Yes,
man, You'll be surprised at howmany people will come and say get

(06:15):

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
