The other thing, we will only let comedians on the
show that have stories that involve the mayor of Garland.
Do you have one?
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah? So I wrote a joke about how if I
ever get murdered? I wanted to be an assassination. But
I just didn't know, like I'd have to get into politics,
but I didn't know how high up into politics, like
when does it go from murder to assassination? And then
I said basically like if you read tomorrow that the
mayor of Garland got shot, you're not going to be like,
(02:28):
oh my god, Scotland May was assassinated, you know, like
sometimes sometimes you're just in Garland, right, And so I
did that bit and somebody was in the audience who
knew Scotland May. And later that night I got a
Facebook message from Scotland May and he basically said, hey,
(02:52):
I heard I was in your act. And I was
all like, oh my god. I said, I'm sorry about that.
He goes, well, I hope you killed and I don't
get killed. So he had a great something here about it,
and I said, I'm gonna I'm gonna change you to mesquite.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Anyway, yeah, because honestly, I'm the coolest mayor in all
of DFW. And so we stayed in contact. He came
out to a couple shows.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
I've met him at the Day of the Dead in
Garland and he's a ristally nice guy. He does do
bits and uh, I'm trying to get him to come
out on Mother's Day. But you know I told I
told his wife that it would be a perfect gift,
So we'll see.
