Speaker 2 (00:29):
Did a little Happy Gilmore I content yesterday and then
today Christina was like, oh I did see some of it, Christina,
your thoughts.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
I loved it. I couldn't watch the whole thing.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
I had to go to a concert, but I loved
what I was watching and I wanted to keep watching it.
So I'm going to finish it tonight as I can.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Did your husband watch it with you? Well you're he's
common law.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Sure, yes, no he did. He was the reason we
watched it.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Actually, he was like we should watch Happy Gilmore too,
and I was like, all right, I'll sit down and
watch some.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Of it with you. But he didn't go to the concert. No,
so did he keep watching it?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
He finished it, okay while I went to a concert.
Speaker 5 (01:04):
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Yeah, I shared
my thoughts yesterday on the show.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
I'm sure you'll get to it skin Maybe Nope, you
probably watch it with your kids.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
They don't care. Yeah, I probably don't. So it's on Netflix. Yeah,
there's a zero chance i'll see Happy Gilmore too, unless
I walk in someplace and it's being shown. Yeah, okay,
unless you guys tell me, hey man, this movie's badass fun.
You need to see it. I thought I saw a
tweet from you on Thursday night that it was just
kind of blase. What Thursday night? Yeah, whenever you tweet
(01:35):
it now till Friday, Well, whenever you tweet it. Whenever
I saw it, I was gone all weekend. It was
fun and better than I thought it'd be.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Yeah, the cameos are worth it and all. I mean
there's quite a few laugh out loud, like you're not
expecting it to be that funny.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah, No, it was.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
And I also rewatched the OG last week to gear up,
and boy, there's some subtle things in there that just
it holds up perfectly.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Okay, then I'm gonna watch it. I'm gonna watch it tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
But it's a different movie, like there's a little more
going on here. My complained about the movies. They could
have taken twenty three minutes off that thing and made
it a ninety minute movies.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Oh now it's a long movie. Hour in fifty three minutes?
Are they doing that? And I didn't love the ending.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
But okay, I still haven't watched that part.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
That could you might like it.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
That could ruin the whole movie for me, though.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
I've seen some people have been like, dude, no, I
actually like the ending, and how play dude?
Speaker 1 (02:22):
It does it involve a dinosaur? You need to watch
it just for the cameo action.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
If there's a hybrid dinosaur at the end. I'm out too.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Many movies for me.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
What I've heard, no one freaked out when Shrek and
the Dragon. I mean when the Donkey and the Dragon.
You know, I know tomorrow. I will save it for
tomorrow when the Donkey and the Dragon made love and
have a little half Donkey half dragon babies. No one
said anything that's a Shrek note that we'll discuss.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
So sweet. There's a Hybrid Baby and Happy Go More too. No,
there's not.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
The amount of cameos is awesome though. Okay, it's worthy,
so you should do it. Okay, I should take a
little time and do it. Yeah, all right, we are
uh in this. It's a rolling stone ranking.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
Can I just say this real quick?
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yes? Please?
Speaker 6 (03:07):
I finally went back and watched it.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Did you stay awake this time?
Speaker 6 (03:10):
I stayed awake and watched it all.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
And it is cameo driven, like the whole point of
it is to have a bunch of cameos.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
But it was better than I gave it credit for.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
It's not great, but it's very pleasant and enjoyable, and
you understand the vision of it.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
It's it's a feel good.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
When you watched half of it or whatever, how much
did you see before falling asleep?
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Well, I would wake up false sleep, wake up falsely,
wake up false sleep, So I realized I had seen
quite a bit of it.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
So it ended up being a happy Gilmore to Fever dream. Yeah,
it was a happy Gilmore fever dream. And I don't
love golf either, so the golf stuff with the golf
guys didn't have any impact for me. But the heartfelt
stuff did it for me, and I was better than
I gave it credit for.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
But it's still not expected. It's not anywhere near as
good as Top gun maver is is uh if I
remember correctly Happy Gilmore. He's got to save his grandma's house.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Okay is his grandma in this one? No?
Speaker 6 (04:03):
She died?
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Man?
Speaker 5 (04:04):
Yeah what a buzzkill? Yeah, of course, God that's sad,
but you know it is. I was a little surprised,
like how much. It was almost like a movie made
for people who like golf, because like, all the golfers
are in there, and it's pretty great. It's pretty funny.
How is will Zalaturus awesome? The best golf actor in
the movie.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
He's great.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
He's playing the role of the caddy from the first one, okay,
and he's like pissed about it.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
It's wonderful. He's Carl Weathers. No, no, his first caddy, Oh,
just a club pro. Okay, his first.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Caddy was the albino guy with like blonde hair, and
he's shaking him on the green and choking him and stuff.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
It's amazing. I have to go back and watch the
first one. So the roll extent ranked all the Adam
Sandler movies.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
And I've seen a lot of Adam Sandler movie rankings
over the years, and they never get it right. And
they finally got it right. Good Number one. Billy Madison,
all right, it's my favorite movie of all time?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Is your number one? Number one favorite movie?
Speaker 5 (05:00):
I will say, when he pulls up in front of
the high school and he pops the denim jacket and
stroke me or whatever playing that is pretty badass, dude,
so great.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Just rewatch it.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
I mean, I didn't know if Happy Gilmore was even
the first one was gonna hold up, and I watched
it went holy crap, it's maybe better than I've always
thought it was.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
But I would Billy Madison probably the most quoted movie
as well.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, maybe Adam Sandler. I tried watching it about four
or five years ago, and uh, it was what I remembered. Awesome.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
Yeah, number two on the list of the Rolling Zone,
Happy Gilmore, We're cooking now.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
Definitely those are the two best.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
It's my second.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Favorite movie of all time.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
I did want to rewatch it.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
After watching part of Happy Gilmore too, I was like, man,
I should go back and watch the original.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Number three uncut gems, which is about a couple of
guys named Jim, uncircumcised or uncircumcised, that hard barking around, and.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
That prooves that he can truly act, not just comedy,
not just doing bits, not just joking around.
Speaker 6 (06:05):
He is phenomenal in that I.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Never got around to seeing it, but I heard it
was great. I fell asleep during it, so I should
probably watch. Isn't it like frenetic?
Speaker 6 (06:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Well you know me though, Yeah, can't at it anything. Yeah,
it's constant motion music.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
It's just constantly moving.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
I mean I fell asleep when the sun came out
after the eclipse.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Yeah, and that's why when I fell asleep during Happy
Gilmore too. It wasn't the fault of the movie. That
was Exhausted Tired.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Number four Punch Drunk Love. That was a great movie,
and y'all know the whole story. Paul Thomas Anderson wrote
comedy for SNL to learn to write comedy, and that's
what that's Punch Drunk Love came out of that. He's
great in that.
Speaker 6 (06:47):
I don't know if I remember that.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
I never saw it. It's got home. Robert Schmigels in it. Oh,
I love Smiggles and Happy Gilmore too too. Yeah it's Jennifer.
I'm thinking of a different one. Get over it. Yeah
she's not in that, okay, Yeah the Coconut.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
That was actually that, it was only.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
I haven't seen Punch Drunk Love Song and a long
time punch struck Love? Is that what it's called? Punch?
I haven't seen it a really long time.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
I don't think I've ever seen it.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
I ever saw it.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Five Wedding Singer, Yeah, great. Six water Boy A little
high on the water Boy for me.
Speaker 6 (07:22):
Like, I wasn't a huge fan of it. It was fun,
it had good parts.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
I'm not a huge fan of Henry Winkler nor Kathy Bates.
Speaker 6 (07:30):
Is that what her name is?
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Too much Kathy Baits in that movie?
Speaker 6 (07:32):
For sure.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
I felt like before you said water Boy, we had
already run out of his movies. Fifty First Dates, number seven.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Never saw it, Okay, I do enjoy that.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
That's a good movie.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Doesn't that have Jimmy Fallon in it? No?
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Drew Barrymore though, uh and Sean Aston Rudy number eight
is something he did with Stiller in twenty seventeen The
Marrowitz Stories, Which is why I think Jerry called Brett Maher,
the former Kicker.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
You never heard of it?
Speaker 4 (07:58):
Okay, I'm sorry, Real Quick, Ben's Diller's character in this
new Happy Gimar two.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
I died like, yeah, it's really good, and his kids
are in that his kids are still kids. Yeah, I
did not know that they had cameo. Everyone had a cameo.
Everyone related family in the movie nine.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
You don't mess with the Zohan never liked it or
saw it.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
I saw it, didn't. You know.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
There's funny parts to it, but it's not great. I
mean it's not anywhere near as good as Night at
the Roxbury, for instance, and that's not incredible.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
He's got some good parts though, Happy Gilmore two, number eleven. Okay,
Now they went all the way to forty six on here,
because of course they What is what.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
Give me the forties?
Speaker 1 (08:37):
I'd like to say, Real Quick.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Twelve is Funny People, which is massively underrated by everyone.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
I've seen it in a long time, but I remember thinking,
why is this a two and a half hour It's
too long. We all know it's too long.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Forty six is Jack and Jill, which is he's playing
himself as Jack and also himself is Jill.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Oh, I mean myself and Irene Sich.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Going Overboard nineteen eighty, his first movie. Wait, does that
have a Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in it? No,
it's got Billy Bob Thornton in it, Okay, and Milton Burrell.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
It's very strange. Yeah, all right.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
I remember as a kid there getting at the Bend
movie store and be like, oh, this sucks.
Speaker 6 (09:16):
Milton Burrell is the one who went dong out right Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:19):
And Saturday Night Yeah, yep? Is it good?
Speaker 4 (09:22):
We good? On?
Speaker 1 (09:23):
No, I want to hear the others that are in
the forties. See if I've heard of them.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Uh, The Ridiculous six that was a Netflix thing twenty fifteen. Uh,
just go with it. Forty three ranked too low on
this list. Just go with It's fine. It's fine. Brooklyn Decker,
then jennifran ano Ston, Yeah, yeah, it's fine. She's pretending
to be his wife.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Grown Ups two. The Cobbler twenty fourteen. The Cobbler is
that where he makes shoes? Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
And he also did a movie in twenty twenty four
called space Man again Netflix. He had that deal with
Netflix before anyone And just make a bunch of movie.
He's for Netflix and collect checks. So he's like, I'll
be a cobbler. I'll be a space man. Wasn't there
one with a haunted house or something? Yeah, Hubie Halloween
and then there was Murder, Mystery h A bunch of
different ones.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Ranked in that area. I can't believe he's got forty
six movies.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
Big Daddy yet left out here he can just do
whatever he wants now and just put all of his
friends and family and their friends and family in movies
and it's just works.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Just a guy out here making just printing money, being fun.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
All right, thank you for that rolling Stone via kt uh.
That is gonna do it for today's show. Don't forget again,
Friday Chalk Tak Casino and Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. Would
love to see you out there. I'll never forget the
time KT looked Zohan dead in his eye and he said,
I don't really like Geno. Believe ah felt unrelated. All right, Christina,
(10:54):
