But is this even possible—or profitable? Ben breaks down the logistics while Skin wonders why KT suddenly starts talking about his neighbors mid-story. Things take a Texas twist when the team discusses a drone mishap in Waco that left thousands without internet after an Amazon delivery drone snapped a cable mid-flight. Speaker 1 (00:00):
Give me that news quickie.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
So I've got two stories as we go around the Amazon.
First of all, Amazon's trying something in two cities called
Amazon Now.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
It's just like the new Netflix thing that they're doing
down the street, the Netflix store.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yeah, it's not quite like that Netflix store. I've heard
is gonna be pretty awesome though.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I want to go.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Week next week. They're having some big media party next
week where you can go get a sneak preview.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, but it opens next Thursday, okay, eleven. Yeah, So
they're they're trying this in Seattle and in Philadelphia, and
if it works, they're going to start to move it
to other big cities. I would assume we are high
on the list. Amazon Now is basically, you order something,
there's a three dollar ninety nine cent uh delivery fee,

(00:53):
and you have whatever you order in thirty minutes.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Oh with drones.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
You know what, I didn't say that in the article,
which I would assume it is drones. But he's in traffic.
How could you get anywhere in thirty minutes?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
And that doesn't make sense to me how they can
execute that, and it's not doesn't seem like it's enough money.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I mean we're they're starting with you know, we're talking groceries,
which they're wonderful, very nice people. My neighbors to the left,
they're never outside. They order food all the time. They
only vote Democrats or order whatever, all the food. It's crazy.
There's so nice. When I do see them outside, which
is rare, they're very nice, but like they're not leaving,

(01:39):
coming and going a lot. Now across the street from me,
it is an older lady, very old, hot, just very old.
She coming and going. Oh, doesn't stop what he's going here,
going there, moving around all right?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Think about this. This This tells you that Amazon feels
like as they dominate Earth and to get ninety percent
of all business, they're like, there's still a market we
need to get. We need to go after that market
that wants something in the next thirty minutes, and we're
going to lose money doing it because there's no way
that makes sense for them for four ninety nine, for

(02:14):
four and nine to get something immediately. They're going after
because you can have groceries delivered by whatever, AGB, Kroger, whatever.
I think they all pretty much deliver groceries. They're saying, no, no,
we got to stomp that out too. We need that
business as well.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
You know, it's interesting.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
I'm listening to what you're saying, Ben, but I couldn't
focus because I was thinking about why Kevin just brought
up his neighbors to the left and to the right
in the middle of that Amazon story.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, thirteen ninety nine is the delivery fee if you're
not a prime member.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, okay, they want you to be a prime.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Subscribe to our stuff. We'll see how this goes. We'll
keep in contact with our sources in Seattle and Philadelphia
to tell us how this goes. Now, we have a
Texas element to this though, because the FAA is investigating
Amazon after one of its delivery drones snapped an Internet
cable in central Texas. Oh man, it was dropping off

(03:07):
a package in Waco and one of the propellers got
tangled up in a cable line, and then there's video
of it that shows the cable being snapped and the
drones trying to make the soft landing in the customer's yard.
There's no injuries, but there were internet outages widespread in
the Waco area for hours because of this dude.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
That's kind of like Pluribus.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Yeah, it is, that's all I kept thinking. Yeah, yeah,
the drone elements there's fascinating. There's also the coyote wolf
element that's fascinating as well.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I'm just like so fascinated as to how long is
it worth being alive?

Speaker 4 (03:46):
You know?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
I mean, there's like so much stuff that I don't
want to be around for. It's happening so quickly, and
I look at some of this stuff and go, OK,
when do I want to be dead and just miss
all that?

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I think, just you least want to be around long
enough for sex robots?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
And then right after that, don't we have all?

Speaker 4 (04:03):
You have one?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
No, we went to school with I would never What
do you mean you would never? That's not something I
would partake in. Why this is not something I would do?

Speaker 1 (04:13):
What do you mean?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
It's not like Burt Reynolds would pose new I wouldn't
do that, right?

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Well, why are you always shopping? Why are you always
browsing and asking us pricing questions about different options?

Speaker 2 (04:23):
You don't know where I shop? Also Christmas gift ideas,
that's why he's doing it.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Do those things use lub or oil?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
What's the difference? Yep A Loube isn't oil.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Yeah, all right, there you have it that clearly ran
out of uh Ran, out of firepower. There coming out
next and around the sports we get you ready for MAVs.
Eat and play you the greatest sports song of all time.
That's just three minutes away. Don't go anywhere, that's next
right here on the Eagle

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
