“Can a freestyle joke song about a giant dog, a big hat, and a mysterious dong become a chart-topping country hit?”In this laugh-out-loud episode of The Ben and Skin Show, hosts Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray fire up the Wayback Machine to celebrate the five-year anniversary of one of the show’s most iconic—and bizarre—moments: the world premiere of “BoomTown” by the mythical Light Farms Giant.Originally freestyled live on-air by Skin, this hilariously offbeat country anthem features unforgettable lyrics like “my Light Farms giant dong will punch you in the eye” and “I got a dog, and my dad had a dog, and daddy’s just like that.” The crew revisits the origins of the song, debates its chart potential (“Give it to Jelly Roll—it’s number one!”), and imagines a future where Charlie Crockett turns it into a Texas classic.🎙️ This episode is a must-listen for fans of music, mayhem, and the magic of spontaneous creativity. Whether you’re a longtime listener or new to the show, this trip down memory lane will have you laughing, cringing, and maybe even humming along.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
It's time to go into the biting stridule Wayburg, damn
straight and Look.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Twenty twenty was a crazy year for a lot of
different reasons. It was also the year that a celebrated
local music artist released just a bunch of singles and
never put them on an album.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
It was a questionable strategy personally, but the modern age,
I think the digital single strategy is the way to go.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Actually can get it out there. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
So we were having a conversation about here's the problem
with it.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Is on today's May twenty first.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
On May twentieth, twenty twenty, we were having a conversation
about Toby Keith and an album that he did called Boomtown,
which I was championing.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Is a great album, great album. It is a great.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Album, but also just I think it ended up taking
going type of what happened to Toby Keith.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
This was when he was still alive as well too
and then Rest in Peace.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
There's a lot Hobe Keith chatter around that time for
whatever reason. But U Ben's a neighbor up in light Farms,
the LFE Farms Giant is always uh in the studio
Ray to Rock and he released this Heater five years
ago on this day, and the world from here was
on the Benskin Show. This is Boomtown by the Light

(01:21):
Farms Giant, a seven foot three person.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Welcome down to Boomtown. I got me a big ahead
and a collage dog, and my dad at a dog
that is just like that. Went down to the late
one day and I put my hardhole in and I
started to fish shot, and I started the shooting his

(01:45):
launch in I'm not I'm a Boomtown guy. Boom I'm
real damn big. Just go ask your why farm Giant,

(02:05):
I'm not, I'm a boy. I'm not I'm a boy.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I'm a Boy's a lot of confusing lyrics in there.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
I was the only one singing along.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
I didn't want to interrupt it was that is such
a good song. I was crying over here.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
I was actually lost in the fiddle part, which is
just so melancholy. Uh So, I believe that if you
got a handsome guy like the Light Farms Giant and
I could just I could take that into the studio
with just real musicians and record that exactly like it is.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
I think I could get that to chart.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
I think so too, give it to it's number one. Okay,
have a rap in the middle of it.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Okay, there's a couple of lyrics I would like to
question here. There is a bit of lazy song writing here.
I'm gonna call out.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
What did originally a skin freestyle song? I think the
whole thing. Yeah, I'm saying it. We were talking about it,
and then I just made the song up, and then
the next day the song showed up with the exact
lyrics from what I made up on the top of
this one. That is just like, just like that. That's

(03:29):
the worst lyric, just making it up as I went
because that skin yes, because that was.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Right around the time of my head is my Heart?

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Yes, which was I think I could make that chart
to you if I could get that in the hands
of Charlie Crockett was my Heart?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
The other one lyric I like the question is my
light farms giant dog will punch.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
You in the Okay that he wrote he wrote that part.
He was just saying it was fierce and huge.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah. Still it's kind of a pope.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Weird song, but good to celebrate that in five years
since I was released to the world, and we were
all better because they all right.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Coming up next, we'll go around the sports.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
There's a new Brett Favre documentary on Netflix and one
of us saw it.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
You got to hear this.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
The Love Shacks coming up, movie news, some school bus chaos,
and Arlington.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
A great show coming your way. Don't go anywhere. The
Ben and Skin Show continues next
