Speaker 1 (00:09):
It is, so things are weird just since COVID. The
job market's evolving. You got people working at home, You've
got AI stepping into the world and automation and all that.
You have companies trying to save money and a lot
of stuff going on. There was a new research that
came out and there was about a thousand people responded
(00:30):
on this thing, and this is what are the most
important job skills to have in twenty twenty five. Right now,
if you're hitting the job market, maybe you're looking to
get a new job, what's the most important thing you
can have?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
And I have your top ten answers. The ability to
easily bend over because I think so much physical labor
is going to be a part of what's valuable. What
robots are for well, I don't know. I don't know
that they've mastered that yet.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
I think about this a lot because I'm like, I
have kids, you know, that are nineteen seventeen or fourteen.
I'm like, what is the workforce going to be like
for them moving forward? How important is a college degree?
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Do they? I think people who know how to code
can do some stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Ah, And I'm like, okay, don't shouldn't everybody just be
focused on AI, like how to work in the AI
feel at this.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
Point, probably, which is terrifying.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
We were having a conversation the other day with some
people at a restaurant and they were talking about that
exact conversation we had where it was like, don't go
to the restaurant at nine o'clock. And I was talking
to a restaurant and they're like, you can come in
until there's ten minutes left, because that's the way businesses think.
And I was like, Yeah, the people in the restaurant
that are complaining about working longer, they're going to come
(01:46):
in for a real rude awakening when there's no jobs left.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Like your first guess was the ability to bend over. Yep,
I'm going to go ahead and give that to you
at number two. Resilience, flexibility, and agility.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Let's go. I told you, I told.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
You I'm assuming flexability like a flexible schedule.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
Maybe I don't. I don't really understand.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Being able to put your ankles behind your ears.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
The number one thing that's needed right now in the
job force, and I do fear for people are looking
for jobs analytical thinking.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
They need people who can think analytically, so data.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
The social media world has taught us the opposite of that.
Don't analyze anything, just react quickly and emotionally.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Number three leadership and social influence. That's having a following,
right already, there you go.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Okay. Number four is creative thinking. So creative thinking is
not completely out yet, it's going away.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
And that's something that AI will learn pretty quickly.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
I would think so probably. Oh number five, these are tough.
These are two things I look for in interns. Back
when we had interns, motivation and self awareness.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Oh yeah, we had that one intern that would just
try to get on the air and like insert himself
into conversations the TCU guys.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, the TCU guy, Yeah, the big TCU guy. I
guarantee you he is not working in our field. I mean,
I guarantee you.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
He was like in the room with us, but if
a conversation was happening, he would put himself on the
mic to answer questions, Yeah, hey, what happened?
Speaker 4 (03:23):
He uh said.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
That was probably about eight years ago, nine years ago.
As his family or whoever was paying fifty five to
sixty thousand dollars a year for that education, I don't
think he's in our field.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
I like to talk sports self awareness. You just gotta
have it, you just gotta know, you know. I struggle
with that six technological literacy.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
It's a problem for me. Me too, Dog, you're better
at it than I am.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Core does this go into.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
I mean it's brutal and uh yeah, I and I
mess around with a lot of it, just enough to
realize even more that.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
I don't know any how it works.
Speaker 5 (04:02):
It's overwhelming for sure.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Uh oh, we can all practice this number seven looking
for they're looking for someone who has empathy and active
listening skills.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
All right, AI does not have that.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
No, maybe active listening, but not empathy. No, they are
always listening.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Yeah, they're always listening. Yeah, the listening. Yeah, but empathy.
They don't have a heart.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Groc was modeled after Elon Musk. There's no way it
has empathy.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
I don't understand how curiosity and lifelong learning is going
to help you in a job right now.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
Because you keep yeah, you keep learning and getting better
at your job and stop making so many mistakes.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Stay curious, never stop learning.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I need you to mop the floors of the lows.
I'm learning that kat is not employable right now?
Speaker 6 (04:49):
Not me.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Oh dog, I need your intellectual curiosity to be sharpened.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
Mine so curious.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Did you not hear what he said?
Speaker 5 (05:00):
I get to go. What are you talking about?
Speaker 4 (05:03):
You need to go check your own tape.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Huh oh, I'm not active listening that. Yeah, talent management
number nine?
Speaker 5 (05:13):
That girls a seven.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
What does that mean, like talent management?
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Be able to rank the hotness, being able to get
people in line?
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Yeah, you know, buy in.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
This guy said something to someone else that got back
to me. How do you handle it? A lot of that,
a lot of you know, yeah, disgusting. We should move
on and talk about the most important story in the world.
