Speaker 1 (00:00):
Are you excited? Day day featuring veteran news anchored kt
fun tweets. Okay, so yesterday it was hot one. It
was about one hundred and two degrees at four point thirty.
But it was the seventh triple digit day on record

(00:22):
in DFW this summer. That is really good small talk.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
That is good small button. It's not this is captain
climate though. Yeah, and so we got to figure out
what this means.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Where's he taking it?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Where are you taking this? Because I thought you were
saying we were going to burn because of all the
fracking and all the oil and okay, that's different electric cars.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Earlier, I bumped into a lady outside and she was like,
you know, we just had our seventh triple digit day.
And I was like, Okay, this is good small talk,
but you're right, this is an agenda. I want to
hear the agenda because I thought you were guaranteeing because
the polar ice cap is melting, this is gonna be
the hottest summer.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Boll time. You're seeing a lot of extreme things happening.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
How come we didn't have an extreme summer? Then?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Did you see the volnado?

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Okay, he got you, he got you at a shark nado.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Okay, he got a volcano and Hawaii and the wind
was taking some of the lava that was being thrown
up into the air and was creating volnadoes. We did
not have lava wind like five years ago. That's okay.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Well, I can also say when I was taking my
family to Hawaii, you were quick to say that there
was all these uh tornadoes involving fire ants nato Yeah,
fire ant natos. They were stirring up, throwing fire ants
on everyone on the beach, and that did not happen.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Now, all directed by the queen ant who was telling him. Wait,
which coast were you on? That's fair because if you
were on the east side, then now you're fine, you're fine.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
But the west west side, who were the ant natos were.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
On the northwest side? Yeah, because fine. Yeah. Wind chills
in the mid forties in the northwestern Panhandle.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I'm going to the panhand this point in the Panhandle.
There's nothing that happens in the Panhandle.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
But a heat index of one O six in Brownsville,
Texas forties and one O six that is extreme.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
That's interesting, that's interesting. What kind of panhandlers do you
get the panhandle.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
That's a good question, Kevin. I don't know. I know
that tomorrow there's there's a little bit of a chance
of rain. But tomorrow is one of those days where
you're going to be possibly about eleven am when football
starts going tomorrow morning, the best place to be would
be a Plucker's right, it's going to be cool to

(02:38):
watch the little TV outside. Really find a way. What's
it going to be tomorrow? You're the upper sixties. Sixties
now that's going to ease into the per seventies.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Okay, is it in your face that we didn't have
a super hot summer?

Speaker 1 (02:52):
No? No, not at all.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Okay, So I think I think it proves I think so.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yes, I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Because it is it's about the extremes and the unpredicted ability.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
If you just focus on the extremes, then you can
make it yours no matter how it goes either way.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
I mean, everyone can make the joke that there'll be
a snow game in Buffalo and October and the so
much for global warming that's snowing in October is like, no,
that's one data I do. We're on a wide range
of evidence that we have I.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Do want to ask you this while you're on your
political pulpit.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Where did you park your electric car? Uh? No, I
don't do electric cars. What we're learning? What do you
talk that they are?

Speaker 3 (03:29):
He's actually he's the aberration, big climate guy, huge fossil
fuel guy. He's a contradiction wrapped in an enigma.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Almost frank things up.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah, I actually I was looking for some gushers around here.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I demand, uh that we now move into vaccine talk kidding.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I thought Kennedy had a great showing this week.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Man, I know he's that's okay. The bear did it
for me. The Central Park bear did it for me.
But what right doesn't matter? SMU is in the news here, guys.
Hell yeah, man, go ponies. So this afternoon they sent
out a text message to their people warning of an
active shooter on campus. What and then they're like, no,

(04:15):
it was just a test. You can't do it. You
can't do that. What are they doing? I hope they
slide in the rankings because of this. Yeah, I still
think there are seventeen.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I talked to play Baylor tomorrow. Uh so on social
media at about four thirty. So, I guess in the
last hour. They said, oh, at three point fifty today
SMU issued an SMU alert about an active threat. Please
be assured, this was only part of the planned test
of our emergency notification systems. There was never a danger
on campus. Why would they say that? In fact, if

(04:48):
I wasn't listening close closely here at Pucker's, I'd like,
what's going on? Why would they do that?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
You can test it without driving future just say hey,
this is a test, right, You don't have to say, hey,
CU hit the deck.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
I saw a campus get shut down the other day
because the guy was carrying an umbrella. Did y'all see
that story?

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Was it a magic umbrella? He's carrying an umbrella and
they're like.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Oh my god, gun And they sent out the thing
to the whole campus. There's a man with a gun
on campus and an umbrella was an umbrella, and they
just they dismiths I did it. They just they thought
it was a gun, but it wasn't.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
JFK. The thing that got turned around the guy had
an umbrella gun. Oh right, Yeah, that was a part
of the conspiracy there. Thinking of the penguin. The penguin
also had the umbrella. Yeah, yeah, I just thought that
was strange, and we don't see that very often. He's right,
you guys been tracking the Rangers. They're in the mix.
This's good, small time. They're in the mix there.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
I think they're currently two games back up Seattle and
three and a half games back of Houston.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
They won nine out of ten, and then they lost
two straight. Over they lost three straight.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah, and then they went home and took a nap
because you got baseball never stops. You got to sleep
when you can. He's right. They have a three game
set with the Astros happening this weekend. I wait, swep them.
If they sweep them, we're in big business right now.
A game and a half out of the wild card. Okay,
but in the division, honestly, you're just three and a half,

(06:14):
five games back. You could be two back. What do
you mean they're not gonna well, you act like Houston's good.
They're fine. No, I'm just saying you're not. You go, Okay,
if we sweep them, we're two games back. As in September, when.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Is Corey Seger coming back from his apendectomy or whatever?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
You know, I don't think they need him, Okay, they
don't need the best one of the best players in baseball.
When he plays a full year, he does get hurt
a lot. Weirdly, you'll see, you should probably talk about that.
If they missed the playoffs three times out of the
four years, Dad, seeger, Is it a good contract.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
If you get one World Series? The World Series? Got
the World Series? Dogs fly forever.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
I guess all right, Well, that's good. The big stories next,
the beach stories next.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You hear that coming up next. The biggest story right
now is the power Ball. We're three minutes away from
telling you next on The Eagle Live from Pluckers in Dallas.
