“Why didn’t they just go to someone’s house instead of sneaking LeBron’s replacement plans through the back of a restaurant?”In this explosive episode of The Ben and Skin Show, broadcasting live from the vibrant Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, the crew dives deep into the NBA’s latest drama—and it’s juicier than a steakhouse appetizer platter.Join Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray as they unpack the bombshell Ramona Shelburne article that suggests the Golden State Warriors are preparing a trade run at LeBron James—and why LeBron might be feeling seriously left out of the Lakers’ future plans.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Been and Skin Show and we are out

(00:01):
here at the Chalk Talk Casino and Resort in Durant,
Oklahoma doing the show. If you're coming out here, stop
by and see us. We're broadcasting right outside the District
Hall where we always broadcast. We'd love being out here.
Don't forget your last chance to be a millionaire with
the one single drawing going your way is the last
or the first Saturday of August that's coming up August

(00:23):
the second. We'll talk to our friends at Chalkdahl later
in the show about all that. We have tickets for
Rangers as a four pack to giveaway for July twenty third.
We'll do that with the talkback feature on the iHeart app.
The first person leading their name, their phone number, their
email address, and the answer to the question which band
did Ben and his friends jump up on the fireplace

(00:45):
and pretend to be when they were kids?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
We were just talking about it.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
If you listen to the show, you know, and now
you can win those tickets. Which band when Ben was
a little kid, did him and his friends jump up
on the fireplace and pretend to be? First person that
knows it? Named, phone number, email address, you win those
tickets July twenty third Rangers and A's.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
But right now it's time for this track, another edition
of things Skin is tracking all right, guys.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Right before the show, I crammed the new Ramona Shelbourne
article about Lebron James because earlier today her and Brian
Windhorst were on ESPN saying the Golden State Warriors are
prepping to make a run at Lebron James on the trademarket.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
WHOA.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
And it's in conjunction with an article that she dropped,
And I'm just gonna give you guys the highlights. Basically,
what the article is is Lebron James gets it and
he doesn't blame Luca, but he's but hurt that he's

(01:55):
not involved in their plans. I heard that they're GM Polinko's.
This is the first time that they haven't run any
plans by him at all, but they ran everything by Luca.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Is that true?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
May fourth Luca and Rob Polinka and Laura Beth and
I think Bill Duffy. I can't remember who the fourth was, No,
it was JJ Reddick went to some restaurant you sneak
in the back and Polinka had a big Binder and
showed Luca everything that they could do that they may

(02:24):
want to do. All that. Lebron found out about it
because it was on TMZ.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
They'se they because you.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Because you also want to get like a nice appetizer platter.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yeah, quality meal.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
And it apparently this place has an amazing wine, which
is you know, Lebron loves wine and southwesterns Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
So, uh so there's that.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
And then they didn't even begin to talk to him
about an extension beyond one year, so they didn't run
any of their plans by him. Uh And you know
earlier in the year when they tried to trade for
Mark Williams and the medical doctors pulled it back. And
remember everybody went to Lebron said, well, what did you
think about this? He goes, well, me and Anthony Davis
were trying to get a center for years, no one

(03:07):
checked with us. Luca gets here and you immediately do this.
You know, he didn't say that, but that was the implication.
And then Rich Paul when he made his statement after
Lebron opted in about Lebron would like to be somewhere competitive.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Before he released.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
That statement, he reached out to Laura Beth Seeger, who
is Lebron's I mean, Luca's basically brand manager and endorsement manager.
She doesn't do the deals for the NBA, she does
his endorsement stuff. Rich Paul has a relationship with her
and reached out to her and said, hey, I want
you to know we're doing this has nothing to do

(03:43):
with Luca. Lebron respects Luca, but we're just going to
handle this the way we want.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
And so no hard feelings.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
So when someone like Windhorst and Shelburne are writing these articles,
they're very interesting.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
It's pretty clear.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Oh and Lebron also had a flurry of social media
posts about how much he loves Cleveland and going home.
He had like four different posts. Can somebody trade? I
mean he opted in, So how does somebody trade for him?
They come up with fifty two million dollars worth of
salary going back the other way?

Speaker 2 (04:15):
So how does that? How did Golden State make that happen?
Jimmy Butler? So you couldn't have Jimmy Butler and stuff
in him?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Uh No, Well, I mean the Lakers have to want
the deal, right, like, I mean, I'm sure they would
want Kaminga and maybe they would but they also don't
want to strap themselves with a bunch of guys they
don't want because they want to build next year.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
By the way, right, they don't have Luca beyond this year?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
So could could the Mavericks get in on this if
they wanted to do No, Man, I'm not saying I
should saying if that's what their plan was. Yeah, they
want if he's going to force the trade, if we
want to make another bad deal with the Lakers, we
absolutely can and we can now arm Luca with everything
he needs to kick our ass, right, all the guys
that you brought in here to Yeah, because the PJ

(05:04):
deals they're talking, that's gonna come down, and that's a
tradable deal. Yep.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Right, who else? Yeah, you can give them?

Speaker 1 (05:11):
So he needs the center, he needs a love threat center,
all right, let's give him a love threat. He needs
a great defensive player on the wing to hide.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
His defensive liability. Yeah, let's go ahead and gi him.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
PJ. Washington Junior. Oh, you want some shooting, Here's Klay Thompson.
So here's Klay Thompson, PJ. Washington, Daniel Gafford, here you go.
Y'all are all better than us.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Let's go. Do you guys want some picks? You guys
want your pick back?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I mean they can do that for one year of
Lebron at the age of forty one.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
What dude, Now you're seeing the vision though.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I mean, if the vision is to I'll say this,
the vision was to be a mauling defensive team. To
trade two of your best defensive players for a forty
one year old that doesn't want to defend anymore seems
to be counterintuitive to the vision. But I'm just a
guy at choked off.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
All right. There you have it. There is a thing
Skin is trying
