Speaker 1 (00:00):
I've been in Skin Show ninety seven point one the Eagle.

(00:02):
This segment or Right of Her is brought to you
by Frankel and Frankel, our friends known for a long time.
They've been partners with the show since two thousand and eight.
We know these guys inside out. We know that they
can help you when you're in the tough situation to
get hurt because someone was careless or negligent. It could
be a wreck, could be on the job site, could
be in the neighborhood. They've helped so many of our

(00:23):
listeners throughout the years, and they can help you too
if you get hurt and you need their assistance. Insurance
company ain't coming to the rescue. You need someone fighting
for you. That's Frankel and Frankel. Two one four three
three three thirty three thirty three. That's the number, also
works with eight one seven. All Right, Bill Burr did
his set for that comedy festival over in Saudi Arabia.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
How did it go?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
We'll talk about it at the bottom of the hour,
but right now it's time for this.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Now it's cool around the sports KTD pun quints as
all the sports.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Yeah, the former Rangers manager Ron Washington is now out
as the manager of the Los Angeles Angels. He was like,
go over performance, not health. He had to step away
this year because he had some health issues. So yesterday
there was a tweet from baseball insider Bob Nightingale.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
He's an actual bird.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
He says that Albert Pooholtz, Tory Hunter, and Michael Young
loom as potential candidates to become the Angels manager.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Man. I saw this when you pointed out to us yesterday,
and I was like, wow, this is insane. So in
this news story, the three professional athletes that are up
for this gig, two of them are investors in Rollertown.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Hell yeah, that's why that Rollertown story broke this morning
and Rad Messick told everybody about it.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Breurery were invested in. So Michael Young and Tory Hunter
both investors in Rollertown, both really good friends of ours.
And I would just say that the chances of Michael
Young taking that job are probably less than zero point
five percent, but I would say Tory Hunter much more realistic.
And you know, we've talked to both of these guys about,

(02:07):
you know, at different times, not claiming to be talking
to them every minute, and they could change their mind.
But Tory's been interested in getting into managing. Michael I
think is you know, intrigued by it, but his life
is too good like his He's living in southern California,
beautiful weather, beaches, mountains. He doesn't need to go grind

(02:29):
in a you know, in a ballpark. His kids are
still somewhat young, and so for Tory, his kids are
all out of the house and it's intriguing to him.
And Tory's got a great relationship with the Angels. I
know he finished the season in their clubhouse and in
their dugout, and I would say that's a definite possibility.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I haven't talked to Tory.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
I don't know if he's interested in taking it, but
he was a candidate that was not you know, mentioned
before Wash got it, and so I think there's a
real possibility that Tory could take it.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
But in either case, these guys have great lives.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
I don't understand how in the case of Tory, like I,
with Michael, you know, he's doesn't you know, he doesn't
live here anymore. So I don't know that stuff as
intimately as maybe I used to. But with Tory, he's
involved in so much stuff. I can't see why he
would go do that unless he's just dying to manage,

(03:26):
Like he's got so many things he's involved in. And
then I'm just like, in fact, I don't think we've
even mentioned this on the air, but we're doing our
brewery Rollertown that Tory is a part of is doing
a Rollertown Open golf tournament PGA Frisco and Frisco, and
Tory's the honorary chairman of it. Like it's kind of
his event that day in that regard, right, And that's

(03:49):
just scratching the surface of all the stuff that he does.
And so it's like, if he takes that job, he's
dying to be a manager because he has a million
things going on.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Dude.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
I watched the game clinching Rangers World Series game with Tory.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
I don't think you were there. Mavericks had a game
that night, Okay, yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
When the Rangers won it all, I sat there and
got to watch the entire game with him, and it
was one of the coolest experiences of my life because
he still knows everything.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
He knows all the players.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
He's breaking down what's happening in the game, I mean,
obviously he was a really talented broadcaster, but Tory Hunter
is one of the greatest leaders I've ever seen in
my life. Like he just controls room. Everyone who knows
him loves him and respects him and follows him. He's
a dynamic leader. And dude, he would be a phenomenal manager.

(04:43):
It's just okay, his life is so good. You would
have to really just miss the game and you know
and love the game that much and want to contribute
and be involved to go do it. And he's so
successful in so many other businesses to your point, But.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
And that could scratch the itch for a lot of
guys on the competitive stuff.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yeah, being business people.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Can I just say seeing that tweet? And by the way,
I will say that the Athletic had a big post
this morning. Ken Rosenthal's on at a bunch of int
and they're like, Albert Pools is the leader in the clubhouse.
They're gonna interview him and he's on payroll for the
next ten years. Anyways from the big contract design. Oh
but all it's like Michael Young Tory Hunter talk and
I was like, why are we talking about the Angels

(05:24):
managerial job?

Speaker 2 (05:25):
I don't I believe we have an opening. Yeah, I've
got an opening here in town. Boys. You want that
one different climate weather, you know?

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yeah, better team. How about a win now window right now?
You want to go play for the seventy two and
ninety Angels, be my guest.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Grinding in La though, is different than grinding into Arlington. Yeah,
but we have Cory Seeger and Jacob Degram the power Surgeon,
Marcus Simon the power whatever.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
You still have Jacko Berger. But I was shot.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Travis Frederick wasn't up for that job. Thought our investors
for that job. We By the way, we never pitched
Albert Pooholes. There was a reason, you know what I'm saying,
because we didn't have access to it.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah, all right, there you have it. There is around
the sports coming up next. Linel Ritchie with a shocking
claim about Michael Jackson. We got to today game. And
then Brandon Aubrey is a kick god? What does that mean?

Speaker 2 (06:23):
All that's coming your way on the Ben and Skin Show.

Speaker 1 (06:25):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
