Speaker 1 (00:00):
Cowboy surprise, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
We had bad news yesterday at Cowboys camp because they're
out there. And one thing that Ryan Schottenheimer has said
that he wants is he wants a physical camp. Oh,
let's go a physical camp. And that means, hey, we
put the pads on. Even though NFL players, let's be honest,
don't wear that many pads anymore.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Very strange you come out in camp or in games,
and in games these skill position players just don't wear
a lot of pads. Is it is it that it's
better padding now that the technology is better, that they
can get the same impact without all the bulk. I hope.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
So.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
But do you notice that you see a lot of
open kneecaps, Yeah, and things like that. It's always bothered
me either way.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Uh, we start getting, you know, tweets coming down.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
In fact, this is all towards the end of our
show yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
And I know you were probably on a plane back
from New York at this time, because I was.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I was on a plane hearing acl devastation because there
was not any clarity in the reporting.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Because now it's okay if you're a national media member
to just throw out something and just kind of see
what the You're gonna get roasted for what you report
anyway either way, So what does it matter?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
So Ian Rappaport was first on the scene with cowboys
fear that it's torn ACL. And then you start getting
some other reports. It's like, well, now.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
That's such a bad thing. Cowboys fear like that could
be anybody, that could be uh, you know the fifth
equipment manager. Yeah, fears that it's an ACL. What does
that even mean?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
And we all fear an ACL. We see a guy
get hurt in a football for oh ACL out of
the year.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
We know this. I've said this a million times and
I get it.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
It's like the reporters got to do what they do.
But you'll see the Mavericks think this, and I'm like, well,
I know like five people in the Maverick's front office
and they all have a different opinion. So what are
you doing If you're not gonna say the person's name,
don't say the organization collectively as an entity all thinks
the same things. It's not true.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
So it's Tyler gotten, your first round pick of last year,
needs to bounce back here. But we got a new
offensive line coach it feels like new beginnings. And by
the way, outside of the Mica Bs positive camp, pretty
positive camp, good vibes.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
That one little kid got lifted up like it was
the Lion King. What a great moment. Shoty autographed a
kid's forehead yesterday. It was wonderful. Jake Ferguson's like, I'll
take a contract if you guys, I mean fifty two
for Jake Ferguson. Hell yeah, what were your thoughts on
that way? I means that content. It was just funny
because it's like, hey, man, I know he had a
down year last year and there was injuries. Here's fifty

(02:46):
two million, now thirty was guaranteed, right yeah, something like that.
But it made him the seventh highest paid tight end.
And don't you think he's probably somewhere in there.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
I like the contract, I don't like the signing interesting
because the signing it's just in the way of the
whole mess that is the story of the roster construction
in the two years. Right Yeah, Well, schoon Makers is
second round pick because we need another tight end because
we don't know what we think of Ferguson. I was
just asked backwards roster building and that drives me nuts.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
But the Cowboys, I think they didn't know what they
had in Ferguson until those four days of non pad practice.
Now they know.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
But this is like when Zeke gets signed, when Jaylen
Smith got signed. If you want to be here, when
Jaylen Smith got signed while Zeke was holding out, Yeah,
that's that's the story, and then you.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Had the whole Well, my goods, god, I want to
get paid.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
So uh, Tyler Guidon that we learn afterwards once you
let everything set and we didn't rush to the air
and report this because we don't stare'll paint ourselves in
that light.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Ay right.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
We're also waiting on you know, things to come out. Yeah,
bone fracture a knee. A bone fracture in the knee
four to six weeks.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
That's better than a torn ligament.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
They're they're talking small chance that he's back for week one.
I'll be there, small chance. Yeah, you'll be at week one.
I'll be at week one. You can't misshot he his
first game. I'm planning on being at week one. Uh
is that here in Philly?

Speaker 3 (04:08):
That's a great question.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
But yeah, I'll be in Philly because they usually have
a party to celebrate the Super Bowl champs.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
I'll be there regardless. So Rob Jones is a backup guard.
He broke his neck two to three months he's out.
That sounds atrocious. He broke his neck and didn't bone
in his neck, now I know, But didn't he finish practice?
Probably because he's a beast. I thought I read that
he finished practice after. You don't mess with Rob Jones.
Nobody does. He'd been getting starter reps KT. I don't
know why. Just neck bone. There's wait, here's here's the

(04:42):
actual audio of Jerry Jones pointing out the injury on
Robert Jones' neck.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I like that bone, Like what my bone sticking out.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Of the field. So that's that's uh, that's a a
I don't know if it's a bullet dodge, because you
did still catch a bullet, huge bullet. But it's better
than the ACL Oh my god, they had been brutal
missed the year. We wouldn't know what we were doing
over there. Who could know? Yeah, and then it's a
guy that you know, I mean it, it sucks because
it's a guy that really needs camp. He's someone that
you needed to take a huge step this year. I

(05:16):
think they're planning on it. If you're gonna, if you're
gonna be comfortable taking the over on Vegas. I'm comfortable
with that already, are you. Yeah. People are thought the
NFC is good. Are you going good in them? Yeah?
I Phiel is gonna take the year off. All right.
That's a good cuss in the Cowboys KTAM all right.
Coming up next, it's the weekday Update. We'll have the
details on the tragedy in New York. We will do

(05:37):
that next
