Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, coming, I've been ten minutes.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Did a big national restaurant chain make a huge mistake
here in DFW? And then a bigger conversation about DFW itself,
what is cool and what sucks about your city? All
that's coming your way in the back half of the
five o'clock hour of the Benin Skin Show. But right
now it's five o'clock and that means it's time for
this allous Cowboy.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Surprise. Yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Cowboys had their preseason game one. We talked about it
the other night. The biggest moment of the game was
a player who was not suited up getting run over
by an official.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
That's how important that game was.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Now, today and prepping for the show, I stumbled across
what could be the making of a media fight between
a couple of sports giants here in Dallas fourth when
it comes to sports meetia interested. Now, I've not been
following this since it happened, So if there have been
new developments since I took a screenshot of this, I
have no idea. But this one is a little bit juicy.

(01:10):
And so somebody had a post that said bigger than
the this guy's foots, the King foots de King had
this post bigger than the actual game. I don't agree
with Shotty sitting this many starters. Joe Burrow played, Pat
Mahomes played, and so it's just a fan questioning a

(01:32):
new Cowboys head coach, Brian Schottenheimer on resting so many
guys and not having key players play. And it's always
a rest versus rust thing, right, should they play? Should
they not play? If they play, do they get hurt?
Like Tony Romo? So now it's a disaster, So how
do you protect your guys? Meanwhile, guy's not suited up
and gets just steamrolled by an official with ceedee lamb.

(01:54):
So this guy's like, hey man, I don't agree with
what shot he's doing. Shot he should have been playing
more starters. Well, our friend the Great bob Sterm retweets
Foots the King questioning Shoddy and says, you must think
the coach can make that decision. Oh, I have bad news.

(02:17):
Oh Sterm's giving him bad news. That's his tweet. You
must think the coach can make that decision. I have
bad news. So this is to indicate that Shady is
not in control of this at all. It seems to
presume that Jerry Jones is the one who makes that decision,
or Will McLay or whomever. Stephen Jones like they are

(02:37):
deciding who isn't So he's this guy's critical of Shoddy
for not enough Cowboys starters playing.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Sterm's saying, dude, Shoty doesn't make that decision. What are
you doing? Right? That's not how this works, right? Right? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
And you know my first thought on that is, I
bet every organization is different. But usually it would be
a collective thing, especially with football because there's so many
people involved. But if your head coach was Bill Belichick
and his Bill Belichick would make old decisions, right, But
in a situation like this, like I bet if it
was Mike McCarthy, it would be a little bit different

(03:12):
than with Brian Schottenheimer. I'm sure they all sit in
a room and decide who is and isn't gonna play.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Well, I think you're right. I think you're right.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Well, after Bob Sturm retweets foots the King.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
That's my guy.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
By the way, have you seen his other stuff, Bob
Sturm says, you must think the coach can make that decision.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I have bad news for you.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
The voice of the Dallas Cowboys responds, Oh, Brad Sham,
let's go. Brad Sham responds to Bob Sturm and says,
you're misinformed.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
A mic drop moment, right, no further explanation, just hey,
I see you out here trying to be the authority
on this and you're saying you know everything and you
don't know what you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Right right, right? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I care what happens this year on the field. My
season has been saved by this exchange. That's not the
end of the exchange, all right. So again, Footsta King says,
bigger than the actual game. I don't agree with shot.
He's sitting this many starters. Bob Sturm says, you must
think the coach can make that decision.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
I have bad news.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Brad Sham says you're misinformed to Bob Sterm, and Bob
Sterm then replied and said, I wish I was hold
on though I wish I was. Why does he wish
he was misinformed?

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Right?

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Wait, what's okay?

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Because he wishes that he didn't know that shot, he's
not actually making those plays.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I think what it is is that he feels like
he has to respond, and there is reel.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
No good response there. Yeah, you know, but it's Bobsterm.
He knows by now he doesn't have to respond to.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Oh, I don't know, man, I think sports talk costs
live in these environments. Yeah, love every second of it.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Did did Sham respond to Bob saying I was, I
don't know. Okay, here, let me kind of get back
into the thread. Right. You must think the coach can
make that decision?

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Now?

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Is forty six thousand views?

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Brad Sham saying you're missingformed, Bobsterm saying you would those
have fewer?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Wish I was, I wish your mom's missinformed. Oh oh
uh okay.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Dan Rodgers says to Brad Sham, I thought that Jerry
makes all decisions. Narrative died with the what's up phrase?
I really hope it doesn't make a comeback. Why Bob
Stam says, I've only covered the team thoroughly for three decades.
Maybe just maybe I have done some of my own homework.
I have done some of my homework, Oh, Bob. And

(05:48):
then this is the thing, like, I'm please understand not
equating myself to Brad Sham, but I've been in situations
where people tell me I don't know what I'm talking about,
and then I go, well, I mean I have access
to a lot of it from yeah, but you work
for the team, so it's like your opinion doesn't matter
because you're just puppet boy.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
So you know, you kind of get in that thing.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
It's like, well, I don't know what to tell you, man.
I mean, I'm here like a lot and I haven't
seen you here once whole year. But maybe someone's feeding
you back channel. I don't know what to tell you, man,
But that's what happens. What there's a lot of Jerry,
a lot of stacking chests out. It's two very reputable guys,

(06:27):
very reputable guys, very reputable, and they clearly disagree.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yes, So how will this be handled? I don't know,
but I love it all right.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Coming up next, it's the weekly weekday update. Did this
national restaurant make a huge mistake? We'll discuss next
