Speaker 1 (00:01):
Now it's cool around the sports KTD Coquins as.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
All the sports.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Yeah, before we discussed some of these deep seated concerns
from that twenty point lost to Denver. Pretty good uniform
game though, huh oh yeah, that nice classic joints.

Speaker 4 (00:21):
Dude.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Some for some reason in like the late nineties, Denver
in the final Lway year was like, you know what,
we're gonna modernize our uniforms, and they went to this
weird orange with the navy blue. There's just different and
it just wasn't the orange crush uniforms. So I liked that.
I like that they're doing that. That's just a small thing.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
That's my big takeaway for the game.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
And that was a beautiful you don't see that very often.
That was very nice.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Okay, we did this a little bit earlier for one
of them number one penalties right pre snap penalties too,
that's a big one. That's that's we were hard on McCarthy, right,
so we should and they were.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
I mean, any penalty sucks, but it was such crucial
timing the.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
One yard line. What are we doing? It was well,
it was guiding.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
It was called on Brock, the Brock Lobster brock hoffmin
but it was really guiding.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
So it's one of those things where multiple guys don't
know the snapped out, Yeah, happens all the time. Why
can't And it's been thirty years since they've won in Denver?
Why can't they string together good play on the road.
I mean the Panthers game disaster in Carolina, the Chicago
game in Chicago a disaster. Honestly, the Jets game against

(01:34):
the windless Jets would have been a disaster if not
without the punch out fumble, like it was going down
a bad path.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
It was, so I don't know what that is.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Do we need to change up our plans? When are
we flying out? What are when are we arriving? Do
we need to get there early? What is our what's
our situation there? This has been a problem for years
with this thing. Yeah, I mean it's the bigger problem
is you don't really ever be good teams.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
You just kind of beat up on bad teams.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
And I don't think Denver's great, but the record will
tell you they're pretty good.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Six and two.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Now, I don't understand why this is still happening. I
don't know, suck. This is a thing.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
Now, here's what I'm curious about, and this is why
it sucks that we don't have a sports In turn,
I want to know over the last five years the
Cowboys road record compared to the average NFL road record.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
You know what I'm saying. Yeah, it's we really need
Bobby Belt on our show. I think they bigger.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
You know, I'm sure there could be some story there
or whatever, but I bet it's similar to the rest
of the league. The bigger issue is that they've just
totally decided to ignore one half of the game and
just say, let's just have an offense and then we
don't really need a defense.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Nobody needs defense.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
Who plays with defense anymore except that team we played
yesterday with a great defense, and now they're six and two. Yeah,
I mean they have ignored one side of the ball,
and then with five minutes before the season started they
traded their only good defensive player.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah. I think this is clearly now worse than twenty twenty,
which is I mean, Dak got hurt that year, so
that is a part of the reason they were that bad.
But the defense was so bad, and there's a lot
of fighting going on internally, and no one was buying
into the Mike Nolan's scheme. So we did it this way,
and we let the organization hire the defensive coordinator, and
it still feels like no one's really doing the scheme correctly.

(03:21):
But the thing that I think it's a bad thing
but also a good thing, is that trading Micah the
best part of it might not even be the draft
picks that you got for him in the salary cap room.
It might just be we now fully know he nothing
is getting covered up anymore.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Defense sucks.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Do whatever you gotta do.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
To fix it, because he did cover it up.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
They were not a terrible defense on the three years
that they won the twelve games in a row.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Yeah, I have a packer question for Kevin Shoot.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Before they traded for Micah Parsons, they you know, the
idea is they were one defensive player away. They had
a good defense. Right on that good defense. Where did
Kenny Clark rank in terms of their best player? Was
either fourth best defensive player, their fifth, their second?

Speaker 4 (04:08):
What was he?

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Probably third?

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Say he was their third best defensive fourth?

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Yeah, okay, because I guess he's the best defensive player
for the Cowboys or he's up there like he's in
the conversation, and so I'm curious how many how many
guys do you need to be ahead of him on
the pecking order for best defensive player before you're a
reputable defense.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
That's a tough That's tough.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
I don't know, because also add on to that real quick,
you paid Osa in the offseason, and they like, I
mean yesterday, they looked good last week since it was
great against Washington, right, and then you get here and
they look terrible the same way they looked terrible two
weeks ago on the road in Carolina.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
What's going on there? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Os and Kenny Clark were nowhere yesterday. Well, no one
on defense is their today. Kenneth Murray might have been
your best defensive players day.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
Every team is able to pop off a twenty five
yard run on the outside once every two touches.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, and it does.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
And this is why I just don't I see so
many people wanting them to trade.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
They're not.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
They're not one player away draft They're they're not. They're
just not there. They have to retool their entire defensive roster. Yeah,
and probably coordinator. They just got to start over on defense,
go get eleven new guys, all three levels. Seriously, honestly,
they don't need eleven. But they've got Osa, they've got
Kitty Clark, right, and I think.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Kenny Clark they can make a decision on, Like, you
don't want to pay Kenny Clark what he's owed next year?

Speaker 5 (05:32):
No, So I feel pretty good about as Iraku being
a good player. Yeah, I think Duran Bland is a
good player. I don't think he's a great player, but
I think he's a good player.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Maybe he just wants to play man and maybe he's
not his own guy.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
But their scheme, I know, but I know they played
a bunch of men the week before. But I look,
if you want to kill eber Flues, have no problem
with it. I don't know how you're supposed to go
win with four guys in your defensive backfield that are
basically practice squad guys like they had no chance.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
No, you were talking about you or not? You don't
know about bo Nicks.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
Bo Nicks had time and he was dropping dimes all
over the field because he was untouched.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yeah, right, and they didn't send anybody.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
They don't really try all right, coming up next, just
three minutes away, I'm gonna tell you a story about
Anthony Davis that I learned firsthand.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
No one else has this story. I got it next
