It's the World of Famous Ben and Skin Show ninety
seven point one the Eagle And how great is it
to start off the show with a little Ozzy? Well done, Christina.
Obviously we're in day two of finding out the news
about Ozzy's passing. We'll get into that later in the presentation.
Let's see where are we doing that?

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Skin.

We're definitely gonna rocket out at five oh four. We

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yeah, And then at four oh four.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Also audio of Ozzy Osbourne at a function with a
former US president. Yes, one of our our local presidents?
Is there such thing asn't two?

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Who's the other one?

Speaker 4 (01:39):
George w h h h W he was he Houston?
I think now, yeah, I think George w we reconsider
him local. I think his dad is more of like
a what is that West Texas oil guy?

Speaker 5 (01:52):
I believe, just know that in that audio, Ozzie stands
up on a table in front of a bunch of
Washington power burgers.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Fantastic and if you have him there, you expect nothing less.
Ben Rogers, Jeff Wade, Jeff skin Wade, Kevin K. T. Turner,
and Christina k Ray A little baby, corn bread Ray,
promotile pizza. All hands on deck today, And I got
two things to tell you guys about as we get
things started, and it's going to be a great show.
We're going to keep you laughing all the way through
your work day, all the way till six. Christine is
going to take over and play some tunes after that.

(02:19):
But I had the chance to go see the Superman movie.
Whoa Yeah, And there's been lots of excitement around that movie.
When you guys agree, oh tons touns of buzz really,
and it's.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
Driving up dog adoptions apparently, which I love. Okay, right, yes,
it's like.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Have you seen it? No?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Okay, then I'm going to see if Ben can tell
us why that is, because I have been seeing a
lot of dog adoption stuff on my timeline lately.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
I don't know why. Yeah, and this is.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
This movie is being heralded as having lots of optimism
and like being kind of a happy movie.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Right.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
It leaves you leaving the theater fire up with something positive,
positive message, And didn't the guy is it James.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Gunn see the guy involved? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Any Guardians of the Galaxy. There's definite vibes from it
that are similar to Guardians of the Galaxy. But this
is a movie that eighty It's gotten eighty three percent
score from critics, so eighty three percent of the critics
like it. Ninety two percent of audiences our thumbs up strong,
all right, really incredibly strong.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I hated it.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
No, sorry, There's there's a couple of things about it
that I liked. I like the New Superman. I'm always
leary of when you have a First of all, it's
weird to me to keep making the same movies over
and over and over and over and over, and I'm
super heroed out.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I just don't care that menasment. I don't love it
ATC Fantastic, this is DC. This is not the next
big Marvel.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
That new Marvel's supposed to be nuts. I heard that,
ar give it. That's supposed to be nuts. How do
you know my schedule?

Speaker 2 (03:57):
But I'm not crazy.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
The reason I I'm not crazy about these movies to
begin with because I'm like, you're just making the same
things over and over and over and over and over
and over again. Occasionally you can hit a home run
doing that. Like I thought the New Mission Impossible movie.
I thought that was really good, the eighth one, it
may have been the ninth or tenth one. KT loved
the Fast and Furious one where they went up into
space and that called ten of them. I also liked

(04:22):
Vin Diesel is that little shrub and Guardians of the
Galaxy Groot that was awesome.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Don't you dis miss group.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
That would be?

Speaker 4 (04:30):
I liked Guardians of the Galaxy. Yeah, I thought that
was a good movie. Like I thought the Original Iron
Man was good. I thought those three Batman movies were good,
the one in the middle of being the best of
those three. I thought that n that was Vin Diesel's
best performance before he turned into a potato.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
But this New Superman. I had to go see it
because people were excited about it. I'm hearing lots of
buzz and good reviews. And obviously, James Gunn is typically
good and Man the New Superman is good casting wise,
he's good.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Any nudity, No, it's PG.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Thirteen gross and man right off the rip, it's obvious
that a dog is heavily involved in the script super Dog. Oh,
like wrote it, and I don't understand why. It's like,
how does a dog get superpowers just for being his dog?
And he just adopts the dog. That's great, dog adopt Shirp.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
But the dog also demonstrates superpowers ow yes, Lex Luthor, Dude, I'm.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Just like, how is that possible? How does this dog
have superpowers?

Speaker 4 (05:37):
And then at the very end they make it clear that,
all right, the Supergirl movies coming, Let's introduce a wild,
whacky Supergirl element to this.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Oh it's her dog, and it's like, this sucks. I
don't know. Women and dogs man, he's anti women and dogs.
What a stance to take. Supergirl is going to be
the girl from House of the Dragon. Yes, and I
love her. She's very interesting name, Millie Alcock. M she's great.

(06:08):
She's great.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
She looks like you know, she's she's gonna have a
great career as an actor. But like it's so forced
and contrived and fake and formulaic. And I'm like, why,
Like you had you had kind of kind of had
the makings of something cool here the new Superman works,
but man, they really forced the dog on this thing.
So the dog flies around. I mean, it's hard to say,

(06:29):
like exactly this dog has all sorts of superpowers, And
I'm like, I don't understand. May from maybe it's from
It's just I don't know. It looks like a terrier. Maybe,
oh but maybe it maybe it's her dog from super Planet.
I don't know, because she's clearly dog sitting for her.
But anyways, I don't want to take anything away from it.
You you listening to this, you may like it. You

(06:51):
you may have seen it.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
You may love it.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
And if it boosts the careers of women, Christina, I'm
for it. Are you anything that boots up women I'm
a fan of Yeah, that product is called boost I think.
All right, coming up next, Skin, where are you gonna
take us in Things? Skin is Tracking all right? I'm
tracking this burger war that isn't really and also my
new favorite athletic endeavor. I'll tell you all about it.

(07:15):
Ben and Skin Show ninety seven point one the Eagle.
We still have lots of Ozzy stuff we're gonna get
to throughout the day four o'clock, five o'clock. We got
some great audio, some old stories and things that I
think you're going to dig. We also are gonna be
giving away Volbeat Hailstorm tickets. They're coming next Monday, Toyota
Music Factory out there at the pavilion.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Be listening for your chance to win.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
You will need that talkback feature on the free iHeart app,
so if you haven't downloaded it yet, make sure to
download it so you can have your chance to win.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
But right now it's time for this Skin Is Track,
another edition of things.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Skin Is Traffic.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
All right, Ben, I want to start with remember during
the Olympics when you were watching walking and you were like,
I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
What are we what are we doing?

Speaker 4 (08:04):
They're not running and really it was in the Olympics. Yeah,
i'd believe it. I don't remember it, Okay, And we
started talking about Doctor Detroit. The opening sequence of Doctor Detroit.
Have you guys ever seen speed walking every day?

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Though? So yeah, yeah, it's just you get in your car.

Speaker 6 (08:20):
It's really funny to watch.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
People do that.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
You hips. Oh, that's right, I remember this now. It
was in the Olympics.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Yeah, I mean, hell, break dancing was in the Olympics.
So anyways, I know I need to do something to
get in shape because I haven't done cardio since my twenties.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
That was three decades ago. It was the last time
I did cardio.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
So but I also know that you know, you guys
have walked behind me or in front of me as
we're going to our cars and you hear my ankles pop.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
It sounded like an old squeaky chair. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Like all my joints are just they're just I played
basketball growing up. Like my big toe just constantly hurts
at old time.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
You have turf toe.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
I have turf toe, and it's probably from spending my
whole life jumping and landing on a hard basketball floor.
And so I was like, all right, I need to
do something, but man, I want to do something real,
low impact. And I stumbled across And I mentioned this
to you the other day. You guys just probably off
air Japanese interroval walking.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Okay, I love the name.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
Interested.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Do you guys know anything about this?

Speaker 4 (09:29):
You were saying, you walk real fast, and you use
that accent you use ye talk real loud. Yeah, and
then the neighbors freak out what it is? Anytime they go, hey, man,
here's something you can do that'll change your life in
thirty minutes.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
I'm like, I'm willing to commit. So it's simple.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
You walk fast for three minutes and then you walk
slow for three minutes, and you do intervals, and you
do five of those, right, so it's like a hit
work hut. Have you guys ever seen old people walk
around your neighborhood, Man, I'd like to see you go
buy a pair of nurse shoes and walk around the mall.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Well, I was like, I'm going to do this.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
And by the way, it's called Japanese interval walking not
because it started in Japan, but apparently it's because it's
a walking pattern that has been studied by Japanese researchers.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Japanese researchers, huh yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
So anyways, I did my third day of it today,
but something really great, really great development happened.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
My twenty year old daughter went with me.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Okay, god I want to get video of you doing
this and like intersperse it with Godzilla footage with the
res'd be so good. So I will keep you guys
up to date on this. But I felt really good
about I mean, it was so hot, so hot. No,
I'm not are you stretching before? No, you're not stretching.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I'm doing minimal st You should stretch a little. Do
we really have to stretch for walking?

Speaker 7 (11:02):
Though?

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Isn't that kind of like a stretch?

Speaker 5 (11:04):
When I looked it up, it says you can start
with a five to ten minute warm up of light stretching.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
If you pull your hammy walking, that's bad. It's power
walking Thoughah, I mean it's Olympic sport, ben, But.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
Your body's your body, and if it's not used to
any type of physical action at all.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
Right, a warning, a little bit of a warning by stretch.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
I'm on day three of this and I feel fine, Okay,
I don't feel like i'm I mean, I do have
some soreness, but I'm not overly taxed.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
How's your mind on those walks? Walks? Clear your mind?

Speaker 4 (11:34):
First two days I was listening to music. Third day,
I just talked to my daughter the whole time.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
That's awesome.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
That's awesome, right, that's a great time. Okay, Now let's
go from working out to eating burgers.

Speaker 5 (11:44):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
There's an article in the New Dallas Observer that was
very interested in because I sort of did this myself.
The first time I told you guys, I went to
Burger Schmerger. It was closed because at the time they
weren't opening till three. So we ended up going to
that Mexican food next door. I think it's called Casino.
It's really good. But in that same parking lot is

(12:05):
a place that is called to try to in front
of me draft oh, District nine draft House.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Okay, yeah, you know it.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
Yeah, because when I waited in line when tom Berger Schmurger,
I considered going over there.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Okay, you should have gone over there. It's like the
only other like, well outside of the mixtomplax.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
Is it like an Alamo draft house carries a bunch
of beers carries a bunch of beers. But it's a
small bar and they do have and it's like owned
by a guy. He does all the cooking, he does everything.
And they have a smash Burger there all right, right
across the street from Burger Schmurger, same parking lot. Whoa,
And so I went in there to tell him about Rollertown.
That's the brewery that Ben and I are invested in.

(12:40):
And they have, you know, thirty taps on the wall.
They're a taphouse. They're primarily a German taphouse and they
have schnitze on different stuff. But what's happening is with
all of this activity at Burger Schmerger, they're having the
best business they've ever had.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Good. It's definitely a tied lifts old boat scenario.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
It's the who's not good at picking up chicks, but
he hangs out with the guy who gets all the chicks,
so he gets like overflow chicks. My life story, Yeah,
it says here's a quote from the guy, Andy Thompson,
that owns it. The week after they open was probably
the best week we ever had. We've had a lot
of people waiting for their food, coming over and getting
a beer and we've had a lot of repeat business

(13:19):
from that, nothing but positive things. So this guy from
the Observer went with some friends did Burger Schmurger and
then did District nine Draft House and tried both of
their burgers and then did the taste test. Okay, because
they have a smash Burger.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Who wins? He said it was did.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
He wasn't trying to lead the witness. He was trying
to let both people or to let all. He's trying
to encourage all people to go and taste it for themselves.
He did say Burger Schmirger's flavor balance is tipped a
little more toward the American cheese since slices are layered
between each thin patty. I also thought the edge of
District Nine's beef Patty had a little more Chris speech

(14:00):
char in fact, I like District nine Smash.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Oh a lot.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
Dude, that's nice. I think I want to go there
even more than I want to go to Club Haunted House.
That's incredible. Isn't that cool? I mean I do love
that first of all, any place that has thirty beers
on tap, I love you. You're doing great, You're doing
amazing work. But this is just over in East Dallas.
It's not some super busy area, and there's three really
great restaurants all in that little old shopping strip that

(14:29):
was probably built in the fifties or sixties.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
So go check it out.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Wow, do the District nine Draft House, and do Burger Schmerger,
and then do the Mexican food restaurant next door to
and watch District nine the movie.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Yes, all right.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Coming up next in the Hollywood Shuffle, what was Tiger
Woods doing in Dallas Fort Worth?

Speaker 2 (14:44):
This week we'll discuss.

Speaker 7 (14:46):
Jersey News hot Gods, every Stay on the Top in
the woot Shovel.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
So while Scottie Scheffer's winning the British Open and flies
back overseas and is taking selfies with Jimmy Fallon on
The Tonight Show and hanging out backstage with Adam Sandler, meanwhile,
hanging around here in Dallas, Tiger Woods, the guy.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
No one thinks about it.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
I think about him every day, Bro do too. Actually,
I was like, man, what does he think when he
drives by a waffle place?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Was he here doing some speed walking?

Speaker 5 (15:25):
He was not thinking about doing his speed walking, but
he was walking, which is good for him because he's
got a mangled ass leg from that time he didn't
know how to drive, and.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
Also the time he decided to be a Green Beret,
tend to be a Green Beret for eighteen months, not
to mention all the screw and yeah, there was so
much waffle housing going on.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
He got syrup all over his stuff. Yeah, he got
the home run ye home. Yeah, Yeah, that was good.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
What do they call the things that grand slam? But
that's Denny's and he get to fourth. What's the way
they do at the wolf House? I'd go to wolf
House often, sounds like it wal Hose once a month.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
It's great. Yeah, they're always mean. It's awesome. Really, they're
mean to their customer. Yeah, it's wonderful. What are you
waiting for down? Apparently Kaylyn Clark will be going there,
all right.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
So Tiger was in town because his son Charlie Charlie
bit my Finger. Charlie was playing and Charlie is sixteen
and Tiger was his caddie. So Charlie obviously has got
a bit of an aura about him at this point
because he's Tiger's son. Clearly, let me let me just

(16:39):
ask this, tell me if this is callous.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
But isn't it weird that he named his son Charlie
when his dad fought in that war.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
Then maybe he's maybe it's a weird honorary thing, or
maybe Elon get to name him.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
I don't know who knows. Yep.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
This happened over brook Hollow Golf Club and Charlie played
and did not play well. Tiger had no apparent limp
from his achilles surgery that he had in March. Though,
the Tiger was gonna be fighting all these tournaments that
Scotti Jeffer's winning.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
It's kind of crazy, but he wasn't gonna be competitive
in him.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
And all the pictures that WFA got for us, Tiger
looked so fing miserable because it's one hundred and.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Two degrees outside and he's paddying for Charlie. It's one
hundred two degrees and he's got a torn achilles.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
He's fighting.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Yeah, he's repairing while also on the back for his kid,
and his kid can't get.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
The ball in the fairway. Big problem. Eight over forty
three on the front nine for Charlie. Oh, he finished
eleven over for the day. Roughly how old is Tiger
forty five?

Speaker 5 (17:42):
Maybe?

Speaker 4 (17:43):
No, I bet he's I bet see where fifty four
fifty I was gonna say, I think he's forty eight
or forty nine. Yeah, so you know, I don't follow
golf forty nine, but forty nine is our most good
golfers washed. Yes, yes, what is the age where they're
prety mun Yeah, they just can't keep up with guys

(18:03):
because it used to be that golfers weren't jacked, they
used to be fat. So now it's like these guys
are all athletes, they're all ripped. You can't keep up
with him because they're out driving you by fifty frickin.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
This is legitimately one of the reasons Scotty is not
as exciting as Tiger for a lot of reasons. Hey,
Tiger comes back from behind. You know, Scotty's like a
head going around four by five strikes. But also Scotty
the thing with Tiger when Tiger played, and it was
a different time, not everyone was in shape, but when
Tiger played, Tiger was hitting the ball fifty yards further

(18:37):
than everyone. Yeah, Scotty doesn't really do that. He's just
good at everything. Yeah, that's why he's like kind of boring.
But you know, after he wants the tournament. The other
day a big Nike ad with him. It's got a
son in there, a big Nike add about Scotty scheffer
I was like, this is what they used to do
for Tiger, but it's just feels so different because there's
no revolution that's attached to Scotty Scheffler.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
Now, you can only have so many revolutions, like whoever
the next Caitlin Clark is, that's going to be cool,
but she's changing it now. Tiger changed it forever, forever
in massive ways, and all these guys are reaping the benefit.
You'd have to have an alien come join the PGA
to change it in the way.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
That Tiger did.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
Well, that's why Tiger Woods was in DFW. All right,
coming up next and just over three minutes, it's food news.
We've been talking about that. What is the most iconic
Texas food? Well, there's a bracket, there's been some voting
and we have results. We'll talk about that in just
over three minutes. Right here on the Eagle, it's time for.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
Damn sure is Axios has put together the most Iconic
Food in Texas bracket. Been voting the last few days.
Surveyed a lot of people out there in Austin, Houston,
San Antonio, and Dallas, all their readers, Laredo.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
And we've gotten to the final four.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
Yesterday's results, smoked brisket takes down fajitas seventy three percent. Wow, yeah,
not even close. But you just couldn't put up a fight. Well,
I think we all saw where this one was gonna go.
Keeso dunks on golf shrimp?

Speaker 2 (20:12):
What the very uh? What's sixty percent?

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Are?

Speaker 4 (20:16):
No one has ever said golf shrimp? They're trying hard
to make that so Texan. Nobody's ever said, are these
shrimp from the golf? But you know, you can also
say the same thing in Florida and Mississippi if you're
eating shrimp there, you know.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
Yeah, but I'm saying is like golf, though it's been
known that seafood from the golf can eat your brain. Yeah,
so I'm more of a Northwest Northeast guy.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
Wait, are you telling me that it was a closer
match between Keeso and golf shrimp than it was between Yes,
that's insane.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
The power of brisket. Yeah, brisket is a monster. Who
are these thirty one percent looney tunes?

Speaker 5 (20:53):
Who voted for golf shrimp uh eighty percent breakfast tacos
over Tomali's. Sorry, Christina, I agree with that they're both
great and then and what we kind of saw is
the headliner for round two just because of the matchups
are so evenly. Uh, pecan pie over cobbler fifty six percent?
Pretty tight?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
That is, that is a good matchup.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
So for the final four, Wait, do you guys, what
percentage of the time that you eat cobbler?

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Is it peach? I'll never do it. What I've never
do it, I never do it. I never do it either.

Speaker 6 (21:24):
I don't like cobbler. I don't like the fruit in
my dessert. I would say on that don't I.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Would say apple cobbler and peach cop probably seventy five
percent apple.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Okay, oh you're seventy five percent apple over peach.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Yeah, I'm about I bet I'm peach nine out of
ten times on my cobbler.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
I just don't stumble across it very often.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Same That's why I don't have it. Uh litten pecan pies.
I was thinking about why is pecan pie so Texan?
They're the official state pie of Texas. It's started in
twenty thirteen. I had no idea used to be a
hair pie.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Why is that? Because I think we got a lot
of pecan trees here.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Supernut man told you almonds had been on a good run,
and now supernut took over. And one of the reasons
the supernut took over the pecan is because you can
put them on a pie.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
And then what the nut are you put in a pie?
Not a walnut?

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Right not?

Speaker 2 (22:14):
You're just not right? Uh yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
And then around twenty thirteen at least that's when the
hair pie became extinct.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Yeah, yeah, I wonder when the rise of the death
of the hair pie? Right. I guess there's films that
could document that that you could watch. You could watch
them on your own time. Yeah, make a mess. That
mess is on your hands.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
Don't look at me.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Smoke.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
Brisket versus Caso Gang Classic, give me the Caso Gang. No,
I'm taking briskettly Yeah, ta Brisket, I'm taking Brisket.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I'm a Caso guy through and through.

Speaker 6 (22:50):
Man, I think Brisket might win this whole thing. So
give me brisket, you.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
Know, but love Caso. It made me the number two
item in this entire discussion.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
There can be several teams worthy of a championship in
the final four. It's not just only one team can win.
Hell Duke was the best team in the nation and
they lost last year in the finals.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
K team.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
It's literally why they play the games. Literally why they
play the game. Even if you're a caso guy, through
and through, you have to play the game.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Breakfast Tacos versus Pecan Pie. What a weird matchup. It
is a weird one. Christina, pecan pie. Ben breakfast Tacos,
breakfast tacos for me, pecan pie for me. Let's go
to the your hands up, one two shoot, one to shoot.

(23:37):
So what is that scissors?

Speaker 5 (23:40):
All?

Speaker 2 (23:40):
She can break?

Speaker 6 (23:41):
Us w Pecan pie in honor of my grandpa. They
had pecan trees in their backyard. That's why it's the
official pie. Did they really a small town? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:51):
To pick them up, I'm telling you, yeah, I needs
to crack them all right, frisk get beats pecan pie.
We're done.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
There have con pie win this thing there with the
food moves coming up next. In the audio bubble bath
audio of Ozzy Osbourne that time that he kind of
kicked it with President George W.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Bush. That's coming your way next on some more Auzzy
stuff at five.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
This is a clip from two thousand and two the
White House Press Correspondence dinner. So it's always like a
you know, there's usually a comedian does some jokes and
then the President will do some jokes back to the crowd.
Now this isw thousand and two, so sensitive time in
this nation. But here's George W. Bush, you know, just mentioning,
who's all there, What.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
A fantastic audience we had to name.

Speaker 8 (24:42):
Washington power brokers, celebrities, Hollywood stars.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
Ozzy Osborne.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
Okay, now that this applause goes on for about a minute,
I edited down. Ozzie then stand that he's sitting with
Sharon and then he stands up on the table and
raises his end of the.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
Air and he looks like a happy little boy. Okay,
Ozzie might have been a mistake.

Speaker 8 (25:09):
Thinking about Ozzie is he's made a lot of big
hit recordings Party with the Animals, Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath, Facing Hell,
Black Skies and blood Bath and Paradise.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Ozzie, Mom loves your stuff pretty good. This is right
around the time his reality show is blowing up.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
Yeah, when it started that year. Yeah, Oh, mom loves
your stuff. That's funny, Barbara, pretty good, Okay. On the
Benningskin Show, Bingo card, sometimes you might see Kevin forces
something on the show because it involves things he likes. Yep,
but that's like, that's like a free square. Yeah, it's
a free square and you're gonna get it here, so

(25:56):
suck on it. This is from a while back. Your
host of SNL this week is Joseph Gordon Levitt. He's
playing the role of Jason Moras in this clip. Yesterday
we talked about Jack Johnson. Well, Jack Johnson was played
by Andy Sandberg and he had a show called The
Mellow Show where he's sitting on the beach barefooted. One
of his reptiles always goes missing. He's wearing a Pooka necklace.

(26:18):
Bill Hayter is playing the role of Dave Matthews. And
your host that week or your musical guest that week
was Dave Matthews and he comes out as Ozzie. Why
would Ozzie join the Mellow Show?

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Do you have a Mellow song you'd like to share
with us?

Speaker 7 (26:30):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (26:30):
So this one is about just taking it easy and
having fun. It's called I am tired man from ty.

(27:10):
That was not so mellow. In fact, I'm pretty sure
you're scared Dave Matthews. Well, it doesn't scare Dave. I
mean looked at him.

Speaker 9 (27:19):
His stupid face and his uh in his stupid feet
and his voice makes me want.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
To throw up in my hands. Wow, this has been fun.
It's very dumb. It's very dumb.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Well, he's funny because he's looking scared, like they're all
freaked out that Ozzie came out and just started yelling
on the Milow Show.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Mellow show.

Speaker 5 (27:42):
It's pretty funny. Yesterday I wanted to play this for
you guys too before we go to break here. So
now press conferences are back because you know, training camp
has started and your new coach was almost a coach
here in my opinion, at least I think he was entertained.
Here is Mike Vrabel. He's not the coach of the Patriots.
Hell yeah, and he's a big meathead guy and uh,
this is the first press conference of the year, you know,

(28:04):
after a practice, and I thought he was a jerk
to this reporter.

Speaker 7 (28:07):
Yeah, I feel as.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
I mean, whether you were in a coma when I
answered Tom's question or typing on your phone or tweeting,
I don't know, but I spent five minutes answering that question.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
And I can go back through it, but i'd rather not.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
If you're a reporter and it's your first practice with
Mike Brabel, you're going, God, we're off to a bad
start this year.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Aren't we. He's set in the tone. But yeah, I
mean that's on the reporter, dude, it is. But you
don't have to do it though, check ad. Just answer
that question. It's good in the tone. Be a dick.
You don't have to. Guys love that there is a
tone that is being set.

Speaker 7 (28:46):
Well.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
I pull for the Patriots to keep losing. That's the
Patriot way. But it's like Rick Carlisle, right, like just
make it real edgy for everyone. Yeah, he doesn't want
to be there, so he's like trying to scare you
off from asking him questions, so the press conferences will
be shorter.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
That's right, all right, There you have it. There is
the audio bubble bath all right.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
Coming up in just over three minutes, a local athlete
set to start a new movie.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
Who's the athlete? What's the movie? We'll discuss next.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Now around the sports KT quins as all the sports.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Yes, guys, I just wanted to say that the Texas
Rangers are doing really good right now and all is
not lost and this could be the summer of our lives?

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Aren't They only one game back now of the wild card?
There is less than they're a game and a half back. Okay,
this is a massfully important stretch for them. Obviously, if
they play really well, then maybe they're buyers. If they
were to tank right now, maybe they'd be sellers. But
everything is trending towards them being buyers. And look, I'm

(29:52):
always tempted to rebuild and punt and be a seller
if you're not going to be a contender. This one's
fascinating because they have the pitching to win at all,
which is rarely the case here. It was always just
a matter of if their offense came around, and basically
it's come around. Yeah, dude, watching de Gram is so
much fun. This is why they need to go now. Yeah,

(30:16):
he was so incredible last night. They threw a stat
up so he that can't rip as the fifth or
the sixth inning, but the leadoff hitter was you're you're
in the sixth spot and he let off with a
double and then they flashed up a stat the bottom
of the order this year against a Graham is batting
one forty five and he just mowed those next three

(30:37):
dudes down so effortlessly.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
It was awesome. He is so good. He's so good.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
And if the offense is coming around like they are
a little bit is like Corey Seeker and Marcus Simmun
who paid a lot of money too. If you don't
make the playoffs this year, you've got your World series
ens and said it doesn't matter. But it kind of
wild that in the Jacob de Graham time too, you
made the playoffs one time and the year you did

(31:05):
that was the year you didn't have de Grom and series. Imagine, Cory,
see you're signing here when we did that first year
was gonna be rough. But totally make the playoffs once
in four years.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Yeah, it seems bad, especially and well you know the Astros,
I mean, the Astros are so good.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
You're thinking wild guard.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
They've they've done something that's very interesting, uh and it
appears to be working and maybe we'll see if they
do it with White Langford now They did this with
Jake Berger first, then they did it with Josh Young
and it's basically, you've been sucking so bad.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
And they was a Dolices too. It's if they didn't
send a Dolis down.

Speaker 5 (31:38):
But Josh Young and and Berger had to go down
to Triple A and like for a week and it
was just a mental reset and also, you know, you
are killing us right now. And they took Delis out
of the line up for like five days and then
Dulas has kind of got it going now.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
A Doulas is tradable and he's still very good defensively.
He didn't sign a long term contract.

Speaker 5 (32:01):
No, No, he long enough ye thing. Yeah, he's got
a year. You know, next year would be his last year.
So if you were going to move him now to
the time, there could be someone who's like, I'd like
to have a hitter and you're like, well, we kind
of need him. So they are in a weird boat
where it's like what is the smart thing to do?
But if you like map out some of the numbers,
like I think I always like run differential because there's
not that many blowouts in baseball, and the radis are

(32:21):
like one of the six teams in the American League.
They have a plus on that side. I'm run differential, like,
there's a lot of good things that go okay, they
should be better than what the record says.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
They just need to hit.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
I saw this thing yesterday too, which is the one
of those luck stats. Oh yeah, and they're just like
based on if they had just normal luck, their record
would be this and if but they haven't had normal. Look,
they've had below average luck, and so they're looking at that.
If they had had just normal luck, they'd be the
wild card team right now for sure.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Normal luck.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
Offensively, they would be on pace for the franchise record
for wins.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Is that right? Yes?

Speaker 5 (32:56):
Now, what's not in their favor is that they've got
one of the toughest schedule the rest of the way
they do. But why they're cleaning house right now by well,
they sweep Boakland tonight, they almost swept Detroit. Dude coming
right out, yeah, oh yeah, no, this is Things are
going very well right now. So I think it's interesting
to keep an eye on and it's a good little
thing to have. I know, not everyone's watching the Rangers

(33:18):
or anything, but they're pretty good.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
They were fun last night. They could use some bullpen help.
Chris Young. They just lost their closer, right, calf strain. Right,
he was smart, Yeah, he was kind of eighth inning.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Yeah, I mean we've we've we've tried three or foreclosures
this year, and you know, we don't really have a
ninth inning guy.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
But he's out for six weeks, So six weeks, that's
what I heard. What you saw, four to six weeks,
that's what I heard.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
I don't like that.

Speaker 4 (33:41):
Maybe that's but if he's out four to six weeks
and he's one of their back of the bullpen guys,
they need to make a move.

Speaker 5 (33:47):
Man.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
The guy from Astronomer wished the Chris Martin injury had
happened sooner, be.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Good for him.

Speaker 5 (33:53):
Also page from the Dallas Wings page Buckets. Yes, she's
gonna be in the Naked Gun movie that I've been
hyped up a little bit this month August first, it's
more of a reason for me to go watch the
movie now because I'm in now. I saw a little
trailer for it, the part that she's in. Oh really, yeah,
it looks great, dude. Liam Neeson's making all kinds of

(34:14):
Leslie Nielsen jokes.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
It's perfect. Okay.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
I mean that's why he got cast because his name
is so close to Leslie Nielsen. This movie's gonna be funny, dude.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
Earlier in the day, I told you guys, my daughter
went on a Japanese interval training walk with me and
she brought up She asked me if I'd ever heard
of the movie Taken.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
That's great, you tell her no, I said, I've never
watched it.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
I said, I've never seen it, but I know what
it is, and it's about a man with a particular
set of skills.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Yes, very nice.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
I'm not that so yeah, yeah, exactly exactly. That's a
crazy dynamic for that to come up to, really really good.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
All right.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
Coming up next, Uber is making things safer for women.
We've got the story and that's coming up next.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
When it comes to the news, got extra creaky wild
it is the news.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
Nicky, Christina Benstein and Katsy have you news quickie.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
Yeah, we got you.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
That's fantastic.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
Uber's gonna let women drivers and riders request to avoid
being paired with men starting next month.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Oh men drivers, huh men drivers?

Speaker 7 (35:33):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Women riders or drivers? Oh, because you can combine ride share.
Oh I forgot about that.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
So it's it's meant to make it to where if
a woman is a passenger, she doesn't have to have
a mail driver, and if a woman is a driver,
she doesn't have to have a male passenger.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Yeah, so she's not threatened. Yep, because it's the old thing.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
And I heard this on the Woody Show long ago,
and it was the old thing of would you rather
if you're straighting on island or in the jungle come
across a wild bear or a man?

Speaker 6 (36:04):
Most people said a bear.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Most people set a bear.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
Yeah, it's easy to interact. It's easier to not interact
with a bear.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Oh no, you know. The man's like, hey, what are
you doing over there? And the bears.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
But once the bear gets the taste of human flesh
and it's razor sharp teeth, it yearns for nothing else.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Yeah, but still rather have it urins for nothing else,
I'll just pee.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
I haven't too much paid much attention to I guess
bears in the wildlife. But the man has a clear
area that it would be a shot of weakness if
you needed to defend yourself, And it's the nose there
you break thee. But it's also the genitals, whereas does
the bear have a little bears nuts? Can you imagine

(36:50):
punching a bear in the winger in him.

Speaker 6 (36:52):
Going no, I'm sure that was in the Cocaine Bear movie. Yeah,
I love I.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Bet Cocaine Bears pretty good movie, actually, is it?

Speaker 7 (37:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (37:01):
God?

Speaker 4 (37:02):
Is?

Speaker 5 (37:02):
I hope so that there's a good depeche Mode soundtrack
to the whole movie. The whole movie is depeche Mode,
the whole movie, but there's some good parts. Has got
some depeche Mode. It's very bloody though. Yeah, I fell
asleep once.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
That's good.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
How many times did the Narcoleptic fall asleep? That's the
scale to judge a movie.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
I would like an Uber statement to be more clear, though.
You know these companies, they they just they they fog
up their their statements on these things they do. And
I would rather them say we want women to be safe,
and this is just another way to protect our customers.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
All right.

Speaker 5 (37:39):
Here is what Camielle Irving, the Uber vice president, says.
It's about giving women more choice, more control when they
ride and drive.

Speaker 6 (37:48):
Thank you. I will say I don't like taking an
Uber by myself because I don't know if it's going
to be a man driver or not. And I've never
had anything bad happen to me. It's just that mindset
as a woman that you have. Like even I'll do
morning walks usually I have two dogs with me, but
it's too hot to take my dogs now, So I
went just this morning by myself, and I turn a

(38:10):
corner and I kind of get scared a minute. You know,
it's like you got to be aware of your surroundings
at all times, especially if I don't have two dogs
guarding me. Daven Mike tells me that he's like, I'd
rather you not walk by yourself in Oakcliff, Christina. But
it's just, yeah, it's just being a woman. You have
to be always aware. Well, why does he walk with
you because he's sleeping. I would rather not walk the dogs. No,

(38:35):
he loves it when I take the dogs.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
Yeah, I would rather you drive to Holland Park and
walk the dogs. It's it does suck.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
That there's that fear and there's that feeling and you know,
you're talking about uber here and their statement. They're trying
to craft their statement in a way to where they
don't become the topic of like a Jason Whitlock show
you know, So it's just like everyone's just all protecting
their junk at all times.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
It's just the environment.

Speaker 5 (39:03):
So if you've made if you're one of the creators
of uber or lyft, like just because of the way
the world is something bad. There's been multiple stories, but
it's not like they're prevalent, but there's been multiple stories
of awful things happening. Right, an unhinged uber driver, you
know whatever, Right, there's been a couple Do you live

(39:24):
with any of that in your mind?

Speaker 2 (39:25):
I'm not thinking about that.

Speaker 5 (39:26):
With TV shows like The Breaking Bad Guys when they
acidize a death that happened to the Sopranos too. When
we see stories someone murdered someone and they use bleach
and acid iizes as the body. Do you think did
I contribute at all to that? I mean, you know
you can't think that way, but I just wonder, what
are you asking? Well, I'm saying these bad things have
happened via these rideshare apps.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
If you're a creator or co creator of.

Speaker 5 (39:50):
One of those companies, do you ever go, man, that
I wouldn't have been a part of three or four
murders or however many the number is, if I I would.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Have like I do.

Speaker 4 (40:01):
I don't think about it. I don't think get your job.
But no, I don't think it's a byproduct of the creation.
I think it's a byproduct of society and access.

Speaker 5 (40:09):
I mean, you see how it's hard for me to
relate because the only time I've ever killed someone is
why I have cracked so many great jokes that they
just drove off the road, Right, that happens?

Speaker 2 (40:19):
Equivalent, Ben's got to follow up, Huh when did that happen?
Let's just say the blood's on my hands. I don't
know the day, bloody Hans Turner.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
All right, coming up next, the only segment of the
day that will not be podcasts that you must listen live.
That's less than three minutes away, a little over three
minutes away. That's next on The Eagle Ben and Skin
Show ninety seven point one. The Eagle Boy the Cowboys
saga continues. Micah Parsons retaliated yesterday to all the stuff
Jerry Jones was saying on Monday, and we've got the

(40:50):
audio for you coming up here at the bottom of
the hour.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
But right now it's time for this Are You Excited?

Speaker 3 (41:01):
Day?

Speaker 9 (41:01):
Featuring veteran news anchor kt fun tweets our guy, Brian Koberger,
the Idaho the guy who murdered this four University of
Idaho students, has been sentenced today to life in prison.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Do you guys?

Speaker 4 (41:16):
I think that's worse than the death penalty. And I
love it, Like I feel like the death penalty is
is like all right, you're you're off the hook. Like
I want him to suffer. I think I think life
in prison is going to be more suffering.

Speaker 5 (41:31):
I agree, depending on the facility, Okay, right, because if
you end up in a place that's pretty cochy and
you're in end up able to have a good little home, right,
that's not really right now, that's not gonna happen for him, clearly, and.

Speaker 6 (41:45):
Without parole too, right.

Speaker 5 (41:48):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, he's done. I think you've got
four life counts. Actually wow, because he killed four people. Yeah,
four life says then life is like sixty five years
or something. I mean there's a number on life, is
that right? Yeah, it's and it's less than what you expect.
There's Avid who had several life in prison but got
out at the age of the number. Yeah, that turned

(42:10):
out bad guy. I mean, it's pretty cut and dry
case here. Yeah, got him that cell.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
Phone data pretty easy. They found the sheath on his knife.
It's horrible colored, terrible, horrible, and he does And now
serial killer vibes just.

Speaker 6 (42:23):
The friend the group of friends that stayed at that house, right,
he just went and killed them all.

Speaker 5 (42:28):
Yeah, three of three girls, one boy and there's two
people who yet there who who like saw somebody walking
down the hallway, right, you saw somebody walking in the
whole God, that's.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
That's terrific in every way.

Speaker 5 (42:41):
College is weird though, because it's you're sometimes in places
were strangers, so it's like, yeah, they're like, there's that person.
That's one of my friend's friends, friends friends friends. Deep
Elum big article. Uh, Fox four had this big story.
Steve the Eager Beaver was on it. Back in news form.
He had a he had a hit all of rut.
He's back into reporting the news.

Speaker 4 (43:01):
You're the only one reporting that he had a run. Yeah,
the way I've never heard. He's been consistent the whole
way for me.

Speaker 5 (43:06):
So there's a few Deep Ellum businesses and property owners
that are calling on the city to take some dramatic
action because there's been a series of violent incidents at
deep Elm for a while now that's been happening, but
there was three shootings in June, and there's a few people.
The president of the Deep Ellum Foundation is one of

(43:26):
them and is basically he sent a letter to the
city saying, look, Deep Elam is an amazing neighborhood. I
love this neighborhood, but until we see some real policy change,
it's not safe in the late night hours. And what
they're proposing is to shut down deep Elum businesses at midnight.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Who's proposing that.

Speaker 5 (43:45):
His name is h he is the Deep Elm. He's
the president of the deep Elam Foundation. Is John Hetzel.
Is he a business owner down there to property owner? Okay,
so I don't know, probably a bit. Property owner and
business own owner is different. And let me tell you why. Yeah,
well you know why.

Speaker 4 (44:04):
The property owner is the guy that's rending out to
the business and the business is like, but we need
to sell alcohol from twelve to two, and he's like,
I'm getting my rent no matter what. But then at
the end of the day, if you can't have any
renters there because of issues, and it's not just the
safety issues, I mean deep Bellum business has also been
killed by them redoing those streets.

Speaker 6 (44:26):
I mean, that construction is awful.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
It's awful.

Speaker 6 (44:28):
You can't even get the dots unless you go. It's stupid.

Speaker 4 (44:31):
Yeah, I mean the only time I ever really go
down there anymore anyways is if I'm going to a
show at the Bomb Factory. I've been tempted to go
to Ruins a couple of times because some DJs are
there that I like, but I mean, i'd wait, I wait,
prefer the double wide because you don't have to deal
with all the seats of develop I don't.

Speaker 6 (44:51):
Even consider that a part of deep em.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Yeah, you know, I know it's very hard. Yeah right,
I was.

Speaker 4 (44:57):
Man, we used to go down there quite a bit.
We live down there, but it's been a million years
and I am not inclined to go there ever for
any reason.

Speaker 3 (45:06):
Now.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
Yeah, I'm just saying I want no part of it.

Speaker 4 (45:09):
And maybe it's like a shark attack where all right,
there was a report on a shark attack. Now I
don't want to go in the water, But when I
see those stories down there, I'm like, man, I'm just
asking for trouble going there. Yeah, and maybe it'd messy
after midnight maybe it's just isolated events and it's not
as rampid as I make it as it seems when
you see it reported on you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
Yeah, but I just thought it doesn't feel safe.

Speaker 4 (45:32):
I've seen business owners be like, hey man, you guys
are over glorifying this stuff for news purposes. I've seen
other business owners be like, no, we need to clean
this stuff up. It's bad for business.

Speaker 5 (45:42):
This happened to Uptown in the last ten years too,
where they were getting hit with tons of crime and
you know, a lot of gunshots going off and things
like that. This is I don't know, Midnight might be
an arbitrary hour right there. Maybe it's later, but it
is happening there more than it's happening in other hangout
neighborhoods in Dallas.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
I think I think we all know that.

Speaker 4 (46:01):
I tend to be okay if I'm there at a
concert because everybody lets out at the same time and
then you can leave.

Speaker 6 (46:06):
Yeah, And we have shows down there all the time,
and I always think the same thing has been I'm like,
oh God, is this this going to be the time?
Totally fine every single time I get in and out,
no problem, but I will say this too, because at
twilight we'll usually do a three hour set. Some of
our best customers come in after midnight because they're drunk
and they're like, oh hell yeah, Nirvana, and then we
get tips from that. So yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (46:29):
Here's what he says, neighborhoods getting inundated by people just
coming late at night, not to have a good time
and get a little drunk, but to bring their guns
and booze bottles and party and get in fights. And
those fights occasionally they escalate to gun violence, which is
not fair to hundreds of good businesses that we do
have in this neighborhood. And that's the thing too, is
doing a small measure like closing the business down a
little bit earlier. Does that make the long term neighborhood

(46:50):
you know, prosper Yeah, not the city prosper but prosper us.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
It's a lot of time to think about it. I
think it's interesting and will be following this throughout the
years and months here on the coming up.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
Next, let's turn our attention to Dallas Cowboys football. The
biggest story in town. Uh Micah Parsons new chess move
against Jerry Jones. Stay tuned for this, it's coming up next.

Speaker 2 (47:12):
Come on, surprise, Let's do it. Incredible, Damn, let's do it.
That's so good.

Speaker 1 (47:33):
So uh.

Speaker 5 (47:34):
The Cowboys are at training camp in ox Noord, California.
We played a little bit audio their stay from Jerry
and Steven Shoddy taking questions from the leering press. But
it's time for Michael Parsons now to respond. Because Jerry
ran over his best friend Trayvon Dicks. They find him
for working out on his own in Florida, which wasn't

(47:54):
his contract. He's supposed to work out with the team.
He's rehabving knee injury and all that stuff. I wanted
to do it at his own place in Florida. So
Micah decides that he and Trevon Diggs are gonna meet
with the media on their own.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
Now, was this done by Micah? I don't know. Was
this done by Travon? I don't know.

Speaker 5 (48:12):
Was this done by their PR guy Tad I don't know.
There is before we play any of this audio, I
don't want to take the fun out of it. There's
about ten percent part of me that's like they all
know what they're doing because the Dallas Cowboys are wrestling,
and there's an end game to all of this, and
they all know to play their part.

Speaker 4 (48:30):
You're thinking, like the Joneses are in on them holding
this press conference like that type of deal, like, go
ahead and do it.

Speaker 5 (48:35):
I think it's possible, and I think Micah would go
along with something like that honestly, but maybe not. There's
a ten percent of me yet, that's all I said.

Speaker 4 (48:42):
They could also do it without Mike and knowing like
they could go to Tad and go, hey, go give go,
give Mike and Trayvon a platform, make sure you ride
herd over that. But you set it up and to me,
it doesn't feel like that. But I'm not saying it's
not true that I'm not saying it's not true. I
wouldn't put it past them, but seeing this, like they
know the Jones has been talking about leadership and all

(49:03):
those things, isn't that leadership for Micah to do this
for a teammate, Like won't his teammates look at this
as like damn, look at him fighting for his buddy.
That's pretty cool. I thought, That's how it resonated with me.
I thought, man, that is a bold thing.

Speaker 2 (49:15):
To do.

Speaker 4 (49:16):
And I don't want to get into the Jerry thing.
I do have some thoughts on Jerry's perspective on this too,
But Mike, I'm sorry, but Micah is the guy, you
know who has the biggest star of the team outside
of dak Or. But he's right up there with them,
and he's the one that's the big story right now.

Speaker 2 (49:33):
His contract.

Speaker 4 (49:34):
Are they going to pay him whatever forty two a
year and he's saying he's taking time out, Say yeah,
talk about his thing, but also help out a guy
who's on his way out and in the doghouse.

Speaker 5 (49:44):
Yeah, yeah, And that's where ninety percent of me lies is.
Mike is emotional about this, yeah, and really cares. Dude,
He's upset that Jerry didn't have to do what he did.
Jerry would, dude, Jerry was out of pocket. This is
the thame, Mike, Mike, I say he wants to be
a Cowboy, wants Micah would be more than happy playing
for the Philadelphia Eagles. Okay, he went to Penn State
and he would be more than happy playing for the
Washington Commanders with his buddy Dan Quinn. So the Cowboys

(50:06):
should be careful here, Yeah, here's the first one. Michael,
Why had had you decide to come participate in practice?
He really wasn't doing much.

Speaker 1 (50:15):
But I'm here for our teammates. You know, I'm not
here to please another grown man.

Speaker 7 (50:18):
You know.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
I want to be here with Trey watching rehab, watch
him on the field, watch his groove. I want to
be here at battle with Terrence Still, like I'm here
for these guys. I'm not here for him. I think,
you know, I think the end of the day, he's
on the field with us. You know, we're on the field,
playing the games and things like that. So I'm gonna
just keep boosting it and uh, you know, we're just
gonna keep playing together.

Speaker 5 (50:38):
A very purposeful mention of Terrence Still too. Who is
the other guy that Jerry ran over in the press
conference yesterday or two days ago.

Speaker 4 (50:44):
Which which makes it feel I don't want to say calculated,
but there was a plan to get the back of
the dudes that Jerry yet and it's Jerry, Stephen Steven.
I feel like Steven comports himself really well in these scenarios.
This is Jerry, I agree, and I think something real
specif it is happening with Jerry what do you mean.

Speaker 2 (51:02):
I think this is the byproduct of age.

Speaker 4 (51:04):
If you spend time with people in Jerry's demographic, they
become increasingly agitated with things that do not go their way.
Jerry is acting way different publicly than he did five
years ago, and I think this is very much a
byproduct of his age and the behavior of people in
that age demographic. Or is he stirring the drink and

(51:25):
is that Does that make all these guys he's mentioning
now in the spotlight and does that piss him off
and make them try harder?

Speaker 2 (51:32):
Any update on the contract, Micah, I.

Speaker 1 (51:34):
Mean there's not really much movement, man. You know, I
want to be here. I've always said I want to
be here, but you know, you know, at the day
they signed the checks like always and uh, let's see
if they.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
Want me to be here at the end of the day. Okay,
I like them, but keep it going.

Speaker 5 (51:52):
The reason I want to play some of these orders
because MIKEA does kind of change his tone a little
bit at the end, and we'll do it in the
next segment. One more I want to play before we
get out here, though. Are you getting frustrated?

Speaker 2 (52:01):
Mike?

Speaker 7 (52:01):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (52:01):
No, I think they got their own timeline and when
they want to get things done at any given time,
they could get things done. So I don't think that helps.
I'm doing this for myself and my teammates. Like I said,
this isn't for Jerry, this isn't for Steven. This is
for guys like Trey. This has to help guys like Donovan, Sam,
guys who I know I can get better just by.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
Being here and being there for them. Are you getting frustrated? No,
I'm not. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (52:23):
I've been pretty successful over my last courses these last
couple of years, so you know, I'm gonna just let God.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
Do his work.

Speaker 5 (52:30):
He mentioned Sam Williams, he mentioned Donnathan, Donna and Wilson
like all these guys who are going to be free
agents next year too.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
So's there's a little extra there.

Speaker 5 (52:39):
It does change and you get to hear Trevon Dick
speak a little bit as well. Let's do that next
because it does get juice here, all right, it's about
to get juice here. We'll do that right here next
and Skin Show ninety seven point one, The Eagle, Don't
Forget Tomorrow, Volt Beat and Hailstorm tickets will be given away,
and you know, we have a couple of new segments
we're excited to roll out.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
Action back day three to six. Been in Skin Show.

Speaker 4 (53:02):
Listen every damn day and if you miss it, you
can got the podcast on the iHeart app, which is
what we use to give away tickets, so you need
to have that thing anyways, But right now it's time.

Speaker 2 (53:11):
For this killing big.

Speaker 5 (53:18):
Picking up some sound from the Trayvon Digs Micah Parsons
press conference with the Cowboys media a chess move to
follow up some of the comments from Jerry Jones on Monday. Uh,
Trayvon Diggs jumps in here, are you giving Micah any
advice since you got your contract done early? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (53:35):
Of course, you know, Simon stay patient. He's the best
player in the NFL. Like, why wouldn't we pay him?

Speaker 5 (53:43):
I love Treyon Diggs asking. You know, he's saying to
the media, but it's also saying it to the Cowboys.
Why aren't you paying it?

Speaker 2 (53:50):
Now? That's his best friend, So keep that in mind.

Speaker 4 (53:52):
Do you think it helps Micah when Trayvon and already
got paid and says man's stay patient?

Speaker 2 (53:57):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (53:58):
I always wonder if like Trayvon Diggs, like different agent.
Did he care about getting the most money as a
cornerback after his big contract season was He's like, just
pay me as soon as possible. I don't care about
being the highest paid cornerback.

Speaker 4 (54:13):
He was his second round pick, right he was, so
he wasn't going to be making twenty four million dollars
in his final year.

Speaker 5 (54:19):
Yeah, Micah. He says that his agent's been reaching out
to the Cowboys because, like.

Speaker 1 (54:25):
I said, my agent's been reaching out as at one
point another grown man has to be willing to reach
out as itself, you know what I mean, like communication
worth both ways. They reached out, you know, so that
needs to happen too. They gotta want to do it.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
On their part. Yeah, for sure, David.

Speaker 1 (54:41):
I mean not to Joneses, but Adam whoever the in
between heer is, you know how to do it?

Speaker 7 (54:48):
They do it?

Speaker 5 (54:48):
Yes, Okay, Now this is good because the little in
between her is Adam Pacifica and he's the Cowboys cap guy.
He's been in the player personnel department for like twenty
five years. But he he is a long time Arkansas dude,
so he's none of the Jones forever and that is
the little going between her, guy Adam Pacifica.

Speaker 4 (55:10):
But that also, you know, if you balance it with
what Jerry Jones says, is like I only talk to
the principles.

Speaker 2 (55:15):
I don't even know the name of that agent. I
got my in between her to deal with that.

Speaker 5 (55:19):
In between her Micah calling out the guy Ata Pacifica
wears glasses. He looks like a guy. He looks like
a guy who would have the nickname of the calculator.
You know, the guy on the bear computer. You know
the computer. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
Uh, do you feel like the cowboys want to get
a deal done? Mike Yah.

Speaker 1 (55:36):
If they don't want me here, they don't want me here,
I'll go about my business. I understand the nature of
the business.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
But like I said, as long as.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
I'm hearing an under contract, I'm gonna do what I
have to do to perform at the highest level.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Well, if this is, then this is then you know,
there's there's.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
The same way to Jones, Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones
and the other Jerry Jones take care of their family.
It's the same way I need to take care of
my family.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
I got my own three kids, of my own. So
we all need to take care of our own family
at the.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
End of the day, you know, And the Cowboys are
going well.

Speaker 5 (56:03):
I mean, we could just let him play out this
year and then we'll franchise tag him next year. So
we've got him for two years without doing a long
term thing. And Mike is like, I understand the business.
Do you think Micah is willing to hold out of
an NFL football game? Dude, he wasn't willing to hold
out of the first training camp practice. Yeah, he can't
help it, so that that's a bad look him. He

(56:24):
should not be there on the field personally, I think
that would send a better tone. But he's doing the
leadership thing, and you know, he really wants to be
out there.

Speaker 4 (56:32):
He did keep saying, I, you know, I forget exactly
I worried, but I want to play football. Everyone who
knows me knows I want to be out here playing football. Yeah,
so he's kind of showing his cards at the same time.

Speaker 5 (56:42):
No danger of holding out at all. Right, Hey, Trayvon, though,
let's get him back in here with his high energy.
Were you expecting to get fined?

Speaker 1 (56:51):
No, I didn't expect that that kind of that kind
of hurt my feelings, but it's okay. Hopefully I'll make
it back in his census. Understand where he's coming from.
His brother just got Cleary and toys. Acl maybe came
back six months or three four months early. Yeah, over alchemy.
You know, I went over there with him. They got
some of the best recovery.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
Yeah, he can work on me.

Speaker 1 (57:11):
Can't check with make sure I was doing all supposed
at the inn the day.

Speaker 2 (57:14):
This is his business. His body is his body equity.

Speaker 1 (57:17):
He got to feel like he got to do his
best for his body and like all because at the
end the day, if he's not available, what they're gonna
do get rid of him, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
So he got to keep his body up to par.
My body, my choice. I don't think that's what that means,
but yeah, it kind of is what that means. Kavon
said he was not expected to get fined though that
it hurt his feelings a little bit.

Speaker 4 (57:37):
And Steven said, oh no, he knew it was in
the contract and knew he was gonna get fined, So
that's obviously a disagreement.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
Does Stravon know it's in the contract?

Speaker 9 (57:44):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (57:44):
Yeah, but you know, the Cowboys could have just been like, now,
we're not gonna find it, but they are up literally
they're upset with him.

Speaker 4 (57:49):
So that's why they did it. Yeah, and this is
but this is a big frontier in sports. Uh, you know,
happening at the highest level is what we saw with
Tom Brady. I mean that caused a massive rift with
him and Parcels not Parcels, Belichick, and you know it's like,
obviously Kraft is going to go with Brady. You know,
there's this is what's happening. It's happening at every level

(58:13):
with the best athletes. And he even said it. It's
clear he's been talking about it with his agent, the
idea of body equity.

Speaker 5 (58:19):
You know, before the draft, they always have these meetings
and they get to know these players. And Trayvon Diggs
fell to the second round for a reason. A lot
of people didn't think he was fast. And that's actually
it does hold up a little bit. But it could
be the body language thing because he does give off
and I don't really and he's just it's who he is,
and he speaks on that. In a second, I'll play that.
But Jerry kept saying that the other day leadership. If

(58:40):
you're the top ten percent highest paid play then you
have to be a leader. Trevon's like, dude, I've never
been that type of guy, and you've forced me to
be that type of guy. And that's another reason why
the button heads. Hey, Micah, were Jerry's comments hurtful?

Speaker 2 (58:53):
Were the Jerry comments hurtful? Yesterday?

Speaker 4 (58:56):
I just put it like this.

Speaker 1 (58:57):
I wouldn't say they were hurtful. I would just say
that we are going to take care you know, each other.
You know, I think overall, like I want to take
care of him in the same way I want to
go out there and play for Jerry Jones.

Speaker 2 (59:10):
It's just how I feel like.

Speaker 1 (59:11):
I feel like that's how we should look at each other,
you know, like we're all here, like there is no
difference between us.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
It's also unnecessary. It's all so unnecessary because they like
what we're doing.

Speaker 5 (59:22):
We're doing it, we're playing into it probably by discussing it,
and everyone else is too.

Speaker 2 (59:26):
Yeah, I just don't someone else falling for it.

Speaker 4 (59:28):
We're choosing to do this, but like nobody wants this though,
Like this is not this is a distraction, it's not good.
It's it's there's bad blood, and so it's not good
for winning football games. It's good for growing your brand
and being in the headlines, and that's all they really
care about.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
You know, you will never get Jerry will never win
another Super Bowl. I think, like what happened.

Speaker 4 (59:49):
I think the way he's been acting publicly in the
last two or three years is different than the way
he used to act. And I do think it's a
byproduct of age. And I think the best example we
solve that is the way he clapped down on Sean
and RJ in a way that he had never done.
He had been on with those guys hundreds of times.
And Man, if you want to see what I'm talking about,
just go look at what your parents are doing on Facebook.

(01:00:12):
I mean, well, you know what I'm saying. People in
that demo, they get to a certain point where they're
they're unhappy with the way the world is changing and
they like the way it was before, and they're just
going to say all their feelings.

Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Oh my god, I'm already old. Because I do all
of these things.

Speaker 4 (01:00:30):
There is no there's no editing, there's none of that.
There's no okay, what's going to be the byproduct of me?
Saying this, It's that's all out the window. He did
not have to say what he said about Terrence Steele, No,
and Trayvon Diggs. That was just a person being very
honest for no gain whatsoever. That was his opinion.

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
And he paused before he said it, and he's like,
f it, Hey, but you're the hero. You're on land man. Yeah,
Like that's the whole thing at the end of the day.
That's the takeaways.

Speaker 5 (01:01:00):
A top five bullet point for him from that Breast
conference was not that he's three two of his players
under the bus.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
Hey, Trayvon Diggs, does Jerry want you to be a
better leader?

Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
I feel like, you know me, I'm not personally I'm
not even a vocal leader. Like I'm not gonna be
screaming at God. I'm not gonna be yelling at guys.
How I'm a lead is what I do on the field,
how I perform in the field, the things that I
do in practice. Pitt is hard, working, hard, So that's
not that's how I lead them my way. I'm gonna
lead him my way. I'm continuing to lead them my way.
I'm not gonna change who I am. I'm not gonna
change and start talking and being a vocal guy Like

(01:01:29):
that's just not me. That's not who I am. But
I will lead in different ways and I feel like
I do that, you.

Speaker 5 (01:01:34):
Know, Okay, I mean again, the Cowboys did not meet
with Trayvon Diggs before the draft. They drafted him because
he was there. This hack happened with jayda On Blue too,
or Jaden Blue. And there's been whispers of course that
you know, he might have been like the hardest worker
in all that stuff. Yet that's a really easy thing
to say without anyone knowing, but it is interesting he
had never met with the Cowboys either before they drafted himself.

(01:01:56):
Morris Claiborne is the one from God nearly twenty years
ago that we talk about, you know, but a guy
who they didn't visit with. Like if you don't know
a person, like if you met Treylon Dicks before the draft,
you would know that he's not going to be that guy.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
Here's the last one. Micah asked, again, are you frustrated
by this?

Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
Honestly?

Speaker 8 (01:02:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:02:13):
When you go around the league and you see these
other teams taking care of their best guys, I see
TJ got taken care of, you know, Max got taken
care of, Miles got taken care of, and he got
two years left on his deal show, So it's harded. Yeah,
you see a lot of people around league and taking
care of you just you know, wish you had something
that you know, that same type of energy.

Speaker 5 (01:02:35):
So he did escalate from him not frustrated too. Yeah,
I am frustrated. Actually got the other guys get pack,
Like I want to just come out and practice and
have the.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
Best year ever. He feels disrespected. He's been disrespected kind of.
Although Jerry's like, it has not helped the club.

Speaker 5 (01:02:49):
If we just keep giving contracts before guys are, you know,
