Speaker 1 (00:00):
What size are you quit after with ill show?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
You're gonna ruling it gexcept for similar to be pursuing it.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hold out shaw shank through the sewer, dude, Now what
chilling at day Eagle? Yeah, we're doing it.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Bring your clock on the dock, gotta have it for
my house or do status how we're starting kitting Cratit
shows that enough multiply like a rabbit dun in zone out,
creak it up, beat the habit.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
I'm on hang out with my friends, rocket on the radio.
My wholeo on boy Skin is talking on the radio.
It's time to do this. Walt all it there we go,
okat stinging up and all of them on our radio. Yes,

(01:00):
Hello and welcome everybody. Happy hump day. It is the
world famous benin Skin Show ninety seven point one The Eagle.
Thank you for making us a part of your daily routine.
I'm Ben Rogers. Skin wad not here today. He's at
the NBA League broadcast meetings. I guess all the broadcasters
from all the teams go and they have a big
summit and they talk about what to expect for the

(01:21):
upcoming season. So he's not here with us today, but
here in Studio from Only Texas Kevin K. T. Turner,
Howdy folks, and from Crandall Texas little Miss Cotton Patch
from two thousand and three, right two thousand and one, oh,
two thousand and one. It's okay right age here. We
were getting hired to do the MAVs postgame show on

(01:43):
the ticket and I was not there for that little
baby corn bread Christina Kray krayray Rey.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Ray oh lah, still missing that trophy?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Really?

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
You think your dad sold it? No pawnshop.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
No, it was up here during all the construction. Someone
had it in their office and then that person got fired,
And I have no idea.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Who was it where it was? Can you say their
first name starts with a z? Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:08):
He had it, Yeah, he had it when his office
was over there. Then it got moved and I just
forgot about it. So it is my fault for just
forgetting to ask. But also wouldn't you be like, hey, Christina,
you remember your stuff?

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Do you want it back?

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Okay, Well we can reach out to him and find out.
Oh yeah, you know how they are though, Like, but
you're fired, walk to the elevator. Yeah, so today is
the you're right there at figure out where this trophy
it belonged.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
To hold on. Christina's got to get her trophy back.
One second.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Okay, I wish you'd never been fired. I was talking.
I was on my popular belief you and Kin have
never been fired from radio. On my way to work today,
I caught up with a guy named Michael Dagenheart. He
used to sell our shows. Did you know that name? Yes?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
I worked with him at the Ticket Yes, and.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
He sold our show when we were on ESPN. We
used to be on ESPN. I think it was like
two thousand and ten, eleven and twelve, and we were
there with Randy Galloway and Matt Moseley and got Ian
fitz Simmons and Landry Locker and Brendan Smith and god
so many. I know, I'm forgetting some people, and some

(03:16):
of them that listen to our show. I apologize and
went down that road and anyways, now'll get over it.
He was like, hey, you know where are you now?
Are you guys doing? He doesn't live here anymore because
you're still doing the radio. Go yeah, man, we're on
the Eagle. We've not been fired. He goes, do you
realize how rare that is? In radio, it's oh, I

(03:37):
guarantee you we're getting fired soon. I mean that is
not a streak, you can It's like coaches in professional
sports are hired to be fired. Eventually, we absolutely will
be fired. Death tax isn't getting fired from radio, right
And now I know the answer to this for one
of you, but I want to hear it on the radio.
But have either of you ever been fired? No Ah,

(04:01):
you know technically I have not. You kind of were
I had.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
The problem is I had to go through the humiliating
process of getting fired, but then then coming back get
told before the paperwork went through, which I of course
played victim and used that as a joke.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
And a lot of times when I need to get.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Out of an awkward situation healthy, especially with someone here at iHeart,
I'll just say something like, well, they fired me, they
don't care about me.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
I don't think I have to go to that meeting
or something like that. But I actually found out while
on a golf course on my first day of unemployment.
We paused your termination. Okay, cool, Okay. Then they're like
you want to come back? I was like, yeah, cool, yeah,
I'm in sounds great, But.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
I did have to go in the room, get told
what website you go to. I did get asked by
the guy who stole Christina's Cotton Patch Cafe trophy. He
did try it to, like, hey, man, I gotta you know,
did you have your Do you have your badge?

Speaker 1 (05:04):
But I didn't bring my badge to work that day,
for you know, I was questioning.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
I was like, man, I got a bunch of crap
up here. I'll just come back up here on the weekend.
And it was kind of cool with it.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Really did they frisk you or like usher you out
with security? And did you have a box with your
stuff in it? I had? Yeah, I always wondered what that,
you know, I had it. That sucked. That part sucked.
You kind of feel like everyone's watching you.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Well, when we left one oh five to three the fan,
it was it was so wild, like I'll never forget.
Like the day we put in our two week notice, Uh,
my printer wouldn't work at home and so I couldn't
get the letter printed, like we have a whole printer crisis,
and I was late to get there. And then I
got there right and we jumped on the air and

(05:48):
I gave notice that hey, we're putting in our two
week notice. And then eventually I think I went on
vacation soon thereafter, gone that Thursday and Friday. I think
your wife had some type of something. Yeah, she had
a medical procedure. You know, she had to get a
hip replacement. Right at the same time the light Farms
Giant did interest and they were opposite hips. Not a coincidence, right,
is there? And I just remember we were having to

(06:10):
buy a new headboard. Like every three or four doors,
they were shadowed. I was like, why are these shattering?

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Everything's fine.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
I'm sure it's fine. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.
She was, that's the most satisfied she's ever been. And
I don't know why, but uh, you know, I remember
at some point they walked me out to the elevator
and I did have my stuff in a box and
we weren't fired, but it was the awkward give me
your id, bads, I'm going to walk into the elevator.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
It's tough, and you have the sex toy bouncing out
of it.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
There was a time where it's so awkward, like to
to get fired or to have to fire somebody one time,
and this is this was a different time. It's not
as uh, it wasn't as prevalent now as as or
then as it is now. But you know, I got
to know my my boss pretty well at a different company,
and he had to terminate somebody and he was so

(07:01):
in his head about it. He was very, very worried,
and we just messed with. Me and this other guy
were just messing with our boss. We had a really
good relationship. We were like, I think he's mentioned like
having some serious artillery in his trunk, Like he's got
like he's like, he's a pop the trunk guy. He
gets upset and he was like what, Yeah, he was
showing us he's it's a stack of guns just and

(07:23):
his he was what and so issues we got so
in his head that we're like, you're gonna need to
walk him out to his car when he leaves, just
to make sure that he's just not out there in
the parking lot preparing to come get you or something.
He was buying it, and so we went and we
walked out to the window to where we could see

(07:44):
the parking lot. We watched him walk the guy out,
and we convinced him he needed a serpentine back into
the building. So he was cutting through cars, speed walking
just to make sure ducking and gun down, kept looking
back and he never had anything to worry about.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Bud.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
It was fun to mess with them, but I you know,
being on that end of it didn't seem fun either.
How are those guys doing now? Yeah, in touch. One
of them passed away, he rescpes, thanks for bringing it up.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I remember, okay, I remember when when y'all turned your
two weeks in at the fan because I stayed through
the weekend. Uh just see, and I had to go
to a station event and answer questions.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
We were I don't know anything, but there was a
sales girl came to the elevator as I was about
to walk down, and she's in tears. She's trying, and
she goes, what am I supposed to do now? And
I was like, there's six stations in this quster like
ten shows, go sell them. That was a huge compliment though.
That meant the world to us that she felt that way.
All right, we are off and running. Hopey, hopefully none

(08:44):
of you get fired today on a hump day, but
hopefully there's a little levity involved if you do. We
got the Hollywood shuffle coming up. We got some TV news,
we got some sports obviously, the Rangers in trouble costing,
the Cowboys all coming your way, but coming your way
next in the next three or four minutes. Christina's got
a cookie jar? Are you gonna take this? Ky?

Speaker 3 (09:01):
The food Fighters are back then and they've got bits
Boom that is next on the problems.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Has goopy jar.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
So real quick, before I get to the food Fighters,
Mike and I are going to the bomb Factory tonight
to see Father John Misty. Uh, totally forgot until like Monday,
got super excited about it. So if anyone's going tonight,
I know that's definitely not an Eagle artist. But if
anyone listening is going tonight, please say hi, and if
you want us up in your suite, I mean just yeah,

(09:55):
just you know, let us know.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I have a question. Yes for a guy, thank you
for a guy like Mike Siroy obviously incredibly popular from
the ticket I think he was a ticket most was
it Man of the Year, most favorite host.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Me and him is the freak the Dallas Observer twenty
Well no I know that too.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
I'm just gonna list off several acts. Oh yeah, he
won the bracket. Yes, yeah, he won the bracket. Then
he was the Dallas Observer Host of the Year. Yeah,
and now he's got an incredibly popular podcast circu Deceroy
and Danny Bayless' is on that. He If you guys
are at the Bomb Factory tonight and a listener's like,
oh my god, look there's Mikes Roy and Christina Kree
a little baby corn bread Ray and they invite you

(10:34):
to the suite. Do they have to pay Mike Siroy
an appearance fee?

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah? And you know, I'll disclose that information later to someone.
It's not that big a deal. I mean, you're hanging
with Mike Siroy in a suite a father John, Missy.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
It's totally worth it. Christina, you know, yeah, Christine is
there too. But it might be like a six or
seven thousand dollars talent fee for Siroy to get him
in there, or I guess it's negotiable.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
It's just triple digits. Okay, yeah, yeah, right, but we'll
make it. Yeah, you're right, we'll negoti That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I hope somebody invites you to a sweet tonight.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Thank you. I do too, Ben. Okay, So the Foo
Fighters quick update here. So I think last you guys
heard of the Food Fighters, Dave was going through all
of his marital issues, right, so they have not performed
in over a year. They fired their drummer, Josh Freese
just a few months ago, got a new drummer from
nine Inch Nails. Nine and Nails took Josh Freese, by
the way, They just swapped drummers just fun fact. Well,

(11:25):
they had their first shows with that drummer. His name
is Elon Rubin. By the way, they had a pop
up show Saturday night in California with him twenty five
songs set by the way, in like a nine hundred
person place capacity place, so it's small venue. Awesome show,
and they played songs that Dave wrote like while he
was in Nirvana. So badass. Anyway, so that show was

(11:47):
such a success. They had another show Monday night regardless
of all that, So they had great shows. Right, they
have this new drummer. Everything's going great. So last earlier
last week, they were tweeting out some pictures of them
in studio saying, hey, sign up for our email. Something
BIG's coming. So I was like, fine, Food Fighters, I
should already be signed up for this newsletter. Anyway, it's

(12:09):
kind of my job. So I signed up and I've
been checking constantly for something for them to say something,
especially after those concert dates, Like I didn't even get
an email about Hey, we're doing a pop up show
in California. Didn't see anything about that. And then as
I'm getting ready to go to bed, I check my
email and it says message from the band Foo Fighters,

(12:29):
keeping it real. Watch now, and there's a video, like
a link to a video. Okay, And so I'm going
to play this and I want you guys to watch
the video live. I'm gonna play it again because there's
something you're going to catch on to and then you'll
listen to it, re listen to it and be like, oh,
this is what they're doing. Okay. So are you guys
ready for this? I got it here on the big
screen for you, and you just describe what you're seeing, okay, okay.

Speaker 6 (12:50):
In Hey everyone, it's been a while, but I'm happy
to announce that Foo Fighters are coming back to bring
you that one hundred percent real, raw human element of
Rocket Roll. I mean, with a set list like this,
you can't go wrong.

Speaker 7 (13:06):
After thirty years of being a band, we've realized that
the most important thing to us is that what you
see and hear coming from our speakers is the genuine
passion of the six living, breathing human beings on stage.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Because just as our many heroes before us, at the
end of the day, we want you to feel that
it's true. Okay, yeah, right, hold on, that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
It's about to get crazier.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
So they're making fun of AI. Like the first time
David Girl held up the set list. It's what AI
does and makes writing look like it's kind of in English,
but it's kind of also in Russian or some symbolic thing.
And then one of the guys just had three legs.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Yeah, the second guy has six fingers guitar.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Okay, yeah, okay, so we're going to continue. You're you
guys are right. This is all AI generated and it's hilarious.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
What's going on with Chris Shiffling.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
And also at first that Dave girl just sitting in Judeo.
I didn't really notice in anything. I was like, Okay,
Dave's just talking all right, cool, Okay, here we.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Go preparing something special for you, rehearsing tirelessly to bring
you our best from the heart and wait till you
meet our new drum.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
The drummer got like eight rs.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
That's really good. What is that at the end of.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
So that I believe that's a new song because I
haven't heard that before and I am in on that song.
Whatever it is, it's just a little clip of what's
to come.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Hopefully. We're assuming that is awesome.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
So yeah, so they were making fun of AI. All
of that's AI generated. And then when you look back,
like even the email I got, it said a message
from the band, keeping it real, you know, so just
on bits on bits. So right now the only tour
dates they have are in Japan and Mexico. But I'm

(15:05):
assuming we're going to get more very very soon in
the way of just kind of alerting everyone and keeping
everyone on edge.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
God, they're the best. That's so good, so very good.
All right, there's the cookie jar coming up next. We
take you to the Hollywood Shuffle where you gonna take
us KT Well, Robert.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Redford died yesterday, Ben, that means we have to do
the Colorful Name bracket on ninety seven one.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
In the Eagle Jersey News. Hot God, every come.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Stay on top in.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
The woods shovel.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
The Hollywood Shuffle and today is very very content friendly.
Bracket of colorful names is brought to you by The
Good Guys Car Show thirty second Annual Summit Racing lone
Star Nationals. That's a Texas Motor Speedway September twenty sixth
to the twenty eighth. You can get your tickets at
Texas Motorspeedway dot com. And I used to work there
as tour guy. So tell them, Matt. You won't get

(16:02):
a discout for that, but tell them right. So, Robert
Redford died at the age of eighty nine yesterday. We
discussed it a little bit, but it had me thinking about, man,
what a cool name. Robert Redford is a great name,
even like I put in AI for our podcast descriptions
now so I don't have to do as much work,
and I think the company wants me using their AI tool,

(16:23):
and they just spit out remembering Robert Redford as a
segment name, and I was like, okay, yeah, we can,
we can work with that. But I just couldn't stop
thinking about celebrities that had colors in their name. So
I narrowed it down to living celebrities. Okay, so this
would rule out your James Brown, your Al Green or

(16:44):
Betty Watt would leave Seth Green. It would leave Seth
Green for you. Will he make the top thirty two
of a bracket? Okay, though, I guarantee you Jayden Blues
in this. Well, we'll start out, and this is great.
I wanted to do this without skin a because he'll
derail it. B we can have a democracy here. Yes,
you know two to one? You know, uh so number

(17:05):
one Jack Black against number thirty two Jade and Blue
Cowboys inactive running back.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
I love ridiculous brackets, Christina, I think we know.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
I am obviously going Jade on. I'm just kidding Jack Black, Jack.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
I love ridiculous brackets and they get even more ridiculous
as you go. And it's why would these people be
up against each other for any reason? This is no brainer.
Jaydon Blue has been really disappointing in the fact that
he's not even on the field yet. And we heard
from somebody close to the action that shot he was
calling him a stupid, a hole or something like that.

(17:43):
And he's going up against greatness here. He didn't have
a shot at Jack Black.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
Yeah, tough, tough, go so far for Jade and blue.
Maybe you should have stayed and helped out out of
arch at Texas. Number sixteen, No on these on these rankings.
I was just kind of going through seeing the name
put number by him. I was trying to in my head,
are they most more famous than the others?

Speaker 1 (18:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
Number sixteen Dana White of the UFC against number seventeen
Meg White of the White Stripes. Oh, I'll let you
start ben question. Is Meg White the one who.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Was the drummer and then she wasn't that great of
a drummer, but it was still kind of cool because
it was their family or whatever.

Speaker 5 (18:26):
Yeah, well they were married but told people that they
were brothers and sister and then got divorced, and then
she officiated the wedding of Jack second Mary. That's pretty well, well,
it's pretty strange. Not known to be like a dynamic drummer,
But I personally think when Jack Black really needed that,
oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
They fit perfectly. Plus that gave him solo access and everything,
gave him the space he needed to direct Averie. It
was like a good offensive lineman.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
So you're saying like, if it was too busy of
a drummer, then he wouldn't have had the space he
needed to do his thing with a guitar. He's in
Mad's something very simple. He's in it, and she's Moose. Okay,
there you go, There you go. Moose just abandoned us
to at the Hall. Yeah, and Meg's abandoned you know. Okay,
maybe there's something to that. I'm gonna go. I like
the Meg White story, but I'm gonna go with Dana

(19:14):
White just in sheer popularity.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Christina, doesn't he have some allegations or no?

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Oh no, yeah. I wanted to.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Make sure Ben fully supported him before I brought up
Sina White's allegations.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
There are a few allegations. We have had him on
the show before that. I really love.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
He did have a let's just say, an altercation with
his wife. It's oh, I don't know, she hit him first.
You know, there's a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Well, are they still married? I'm not sure. Probably, I'm
sure they're doing all right.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
I'm gonna go with Meg White because seven Nation Army
is just it's an anthem.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Meg White too.

Speaker 5 (19:51):
And the reason I'm gonna say that is because she
suffers from stage fright and I feel for her, and
I hope that she snaps out of it, and maybe
this vote will allow her to perform at the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Number nine. Jeff Goldbloom versus number twenty four Clint Black.
Oh my god, gold Bloom versus Black.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Look. I like Jeff Goldbloom, think it's funny.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
He's one of my favorite guests that we ever had
on the show because he was insane and really high.
But I grew up in Only Texas in the nineties.
Clint Black just killing time will be my vote, Christina.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
I'm just going off of this vote because I like
them both. But who I would rather hang out with
for a day Jeff Goldbloom hands down. If he wants
to go to Father John Missy with us tonight, yeah,
he is more than welcome to. He would love it.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
It's not in town. You don't know that. I think
Skin will quit the show if Jeff Goldbloom doesn't beat
Clint Black in this round. Give me gold Bloom, all right,
we'll do you know what, Let's pick it up on
the other side.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
Let's play it. Let's play a jam. Uh, and then
we'll pick it up on the other side. Because they
got some more coming.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Yeah, and if anybody out there is listening and you
want to text in who you think should win each round,
text us at two, one, four, seven, eight, seven, five three,
let us know who should advance in the next run.
All right, this you continue with part two coming up
here in just a matter of minutes.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
We're picking up the Colorful Name bracket in honor of
Robert Redford, who passed away at the age of eighty
nine his untimely death. Jack Black has advanced, Meg White
of the White Stripes has advanced. Jeff Goldblum has advanced.
Your next matchup is Dallas Maverick's legend in the eight seed,
Rolando Blackman against actor number twenty five, Seth Green. I'll

(21:40):
go first on this one. Yeah, it's got to be
Rolando Blackman for me.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
And even though he was before my time, and I
like Seth Green, I think Robot Chicken is his best
work exactly. But and you just see row all the time.
He's always in a good mood, kind of down to
do whatever. So quhead Christina, that is.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
From Robot Chicken for the So Seth Green gets my vote.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
All right, this is an incredible matchup, like, who in
history thought Rolando Blackman and Seth Green wouldever go toe
to toe in anything. While we play the games, I
will tell you this. At Dirk's celebrity charity tennis event,
I got to spend some time with the Rolando Blackman.
Skin and I both did this past Saturday. I freaking
love this guy. He's got such an infectious energy. He's

(22:27):
hyped up all the time. One of the biggest badasses
in the history at DFW Sports, but he's super humbling
down to earth. No disrespect to Seth Green, who's great
in that Up the River Without a Paddle movie. Give
me Rolando Blackman.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
There we go, Rolando Blackman. He'll move on to face
Jeff Goldblum a little bit later in the show. Number four,
Whoopy Goldberg, She's an egot. Number twenty nine comedian Lewis Black.
This is a case I'm really not a fan of either,
but I will give Whoopee the credit for winning an Emmy,

(23:01):
a Grammy, and Oscar and a Tony.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
I'm gonna go with Lewis Black just because I want
to put the pressure on Christina. This is a weird matchup.
I don't really have a good feel for either.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Yeah, I've never really liked Lewis Black and Whoopy Goldberg's
sister act I remember loving that and she was the
voice of a hyena and lyon call.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
Yeah, so let's go whoopiell that Whoopy.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
That's one of my favorite drops in the history of
our show.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
Has her name what was used back in the day
as a euphemism for having sex, right, making Whoopie out
of context.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
No one will ever know what Christine was talking about there.

Speaker 5 (23:38):
Wonderful. Karen's her name in real life? Really, Karen Elaine
Johnson really?

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Yeah? But yeah, Woolly Goldberg's pretty catchy. It works, Okay.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
Number thirteen, Now this is a tough one. I didn't
have to look it up. It actually is a color.
Sharon stone Stone is a color. So thirteen Sharon stone
Age's number twenty from Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
H I would like to insert myself into the discussion
here and just say that Sharon stone during her run
of Maybe you Know, and it was obviously basic instinct,
mm hmm. Sure there was something else you help it instinct?
I think I think she was on top of the

(24:22):
world and riding with an ice pick Now, granted, I
had to go see that movie and sit next to
my mom, and I didn't know what the movie was.
My older brother set me up like that. We didn't
We went to the movie before we knew and he
knew what it was, so he goes, why don't you
sit next to mom?

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (24:38):
And that probably scarred me. I need some therapy on that.
Give me Sharon Stone, Christina.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
I mean, all she did was uncross her legs. Thank you,
I'm back. If no, honestly, like, if she wasn't so
full of herself. We played that clip not too long
ago of her like guys still throw themselves like at
my car, I would throw myself at her car again.
All she did was cross her legs. Millie Bobby Brown
for me.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
I will to vote for eleven, just because she had
the courage to branch out in her acting career and
being Godzilla versus Kong. Yeah, and you weren't really of
an age where you could have used the Sharon Stone
to your advantage. Not really.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
Yeah, disappointing. Interesting Number twelve Frank Black of the Pixies.
Number twenty one, Oliver Stone another stone here I'll go
to I'll vote for Frank Black of the Pixies, one
of my probably top twenty favorite bands.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
For me, I'm gonna I'm gonna go Oliver Stone. I
think he might be a little bit of a beating
I can't remember, but he has made some great films JFK. Yeah, right,
and but any given Sunday Pixies are great too, though. Man,
they are so good. Pixie Sticks are good too. Is
that where is my mind? Yeah? Oh, it's so good.

(25:54):
He also did Natural Born Killers, Platoon, Wall Street. He's
done it all, Oliver Stone, Christina.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
So the first song okay, yeah, actually didn't even Yeah,
I did? Did you even Oliver Stone?

Speaker 1 (26:08):
I went Oliver Stone, but I did it with considerable regret.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
Yeah. The first song I ever actually sang in public
on stage was a Pixie song.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
So which one gigantic? Oh? Nice? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (26:22):
And we did it again at Ferris Wheelers. And I
keep telling Josh, I'm like, dude, we don't have to
do this. If you think it's just stroking my ego,
trust me, I don't need to sing.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
That ass, but I need to breathe.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Yeah, it's on there.

Speaker 5 (26:33):
Number five Emma Stone against number twenty eight Jada Pinkett Smith, pink.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
I'll take Gimma Stone. This one feels easy. That never
one kind of think Jada's a beating Yeah, and she's
she when she called bang in one of her son's
friends getting into an entanglement, I forgot about it. I'm like,
come on, man, yeah, I think I'll go.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
With I love Emma Stone.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
Well, we will get back to this a little bit
later because there's a lot of people who need to
weigh in. Guitar legend Jack White, well, fortunate legend Vana White,
and also the manster Randy White a little bit later
in the show, and a colorful name bracket.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
How about that. I'm glad I didn't have to get
into a Sharon Stone Vana White showdown. Oh my brain
could have exploded, lots of explosions. All right, coming up next,
it's the TV news. Don't go anywhere. What are the
shows you should be watching? There's one that we're very
much into and we'll discuss next. All right, TV time.

Speaker 5 (27:42):
I will tell you that we're still, you know, getting
into TV season in the fall. October is now they've
kind of moved it back where a lot of stuff
will start breaking out in October. You're gonna get a
new show on FFX next week called The Lowdown starring
Ethan Hawk. That looks a little interesting to me. He's
going to play he's got like a he's like a journalist.
Like they're calling him a truth story and so he's

(28:04):
like a historian looking for the truth. But he runs
a bookstore in Tulsa.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
I like that explanation.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Yeah, a truth story.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
Truth story and looking for the truth. So he's just
trying to like uncover corruption and all that stuff. Okay,
And uh, the guy who's directing the show is the
guy who did Reservation Dogs. Who Ivoir dos No Reservation Dogs. Oh,
it was a show on FX playoff and a lot
of people liked it.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
I just didn't get around to it. Eervation Dogs. I
don't know. The trailer looked really good. Okay, so we'll see.
I might do it. Might just wait and see what
you know.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Consensus is we talked about the Chair Company, the Tim
Robinson show that's happening October twelfth, that's on HBO.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
That's where everyone's eyes are. I can't wait. There's like
my wife and I because I've somehow mysteriously retired from
video games and I don't know why. I seriously don't
know why. But we've started watching more TV together and
we are struggling to find good things. Honestly, what we're
watching right now is the Detroiters. Oh hell yeah, they're
all with that. Did y'all watch that?

Speaker 3 (29:07):
I watch some of that. I think drunkenly watching that.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
And two seasons on Netflix, a Comedy Central show. We
were rewatching it sort of whenever in the mood, so they're.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
Like TV ad guys, right, like selling ad. Yes, so yes,
I did watch it and.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
You can see though you can see it morphing into
I think you should leave, because it's before I think.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
You should leave.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
The other one is The Morning Show's back today for
season four, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, John Ham. They had
Steve Corell on it as like Matt lower in season one,
Matt Lower type in season one got pretty dark there,
but he's not on the show anymore, so.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
I'm gonna tell you what happened.

Speaker 5 (29:46):
So that's back, and I don't know. I didn't really
love season three, so I might do that. The show
that has got me going the most is Sunday Night.
You saw it before me and I usually get too
shows about two days late task on HBO. I think
people need to know about this one, and I'm not
sure enough people are talking about this one.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Two FBI people.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
It's a crime drama mini series. It's going to be
seven episodes. But you have an FBI agent, and then
you've got another guy who was on Ozark as the
brother of the wife of Jason Bateman, and he's like
going through drug houses and things like that. He's up
to Shenanigans overnight. But the twist and turns are reminding
me very much of Ozark, Like there's like ten to

(30:29):
fifteen twists that it's going to take every episode. Okay,
So I finished episode two last night and we are
two for two.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Yeah. I think first of all, you've got Mark Ruffalo,
who is one of my I mean, I don't know
say he's my favorite, but I don't ever remember him
being bad at anything Like everything I've seen him, man,
I'm like, Okay, he's really good in that.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Except for the Mickey six What is that.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
With Mickey six nineteen? What was that sixteen? Mickey nineteen?
It's just Robert Pattison there trying to go colonize Mars.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Mark Ruffalo's in it. He's like the president, So you
know what, Actually, he did do good in that run
he was doing I take it back, Yeah, take it back.
He did great. Whoa ahead?

Speaker 1 (31:14):
So he's pretty damn good. And then the other guy
is not as well known, but he was an Ozark.
He played Ben, the cousin with mental illness or whatever
was of the brother fighting mental illness Tom Pelfrey, and
that dude is a brilliant actor, like just brilliant his
mental breakdown and Ozark is one of the best things

(31:34):
I've seen on film, you know, maybe Jamie Lee Curtis
and the Bear I'm sorry on a TV show, I mean,
good God. And so those two guys are both fascinating
characters in this being performed by phenomenal actors, and it's
very compelling.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
I'm like at the point of, like, so two episodes
are down and the third one happens Sunday.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Of how much we should spoil? Maybe none? Maybe is
that where we're at? None? Because it's crazy. The setup
in the first episode was dragging a little bit for me,
and then down the stretch it ramped up and I
was like, damn, this is good. The second episode is
straight fire the whole way, and there's some curveballs and

(32:17):
you just see people suddenly put in the most difficult
situation you can ever imagine.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
Yeah, and this is a situation too where it's got
these little elements of something you might have seen on
Breaking Bad, something you might have seen on the Wire,
you know, all these shows that we've all loved for
years and piecing that together. And then you have the
FBI investigative part, which there was a whole team staying
at Mark Ruffalo's house because he's like a leader of
a field. Gosher made me think, I mean, the shooting

(32:45):
of Charlie Kirk last week, and there was a lot
of talk of the FBI being on top of that,
and they just fired like a month ago, the FBI
lead in that county or that area. But I think
that's what I was kind of thinking about, Like, Okay,
so you have this person, but these people just take
their computers and they move into your house to work
on this case. And there ends up being a missing child,

(33:06):
and there's a lot going on. But I think you
should all watch it and prepare yourself. Each episode appears
to be over an hour, so that part sucks, but
I never I haven't been bored yet. Man, I've been
like they have the way Episode one ends, that'll keep
you locked in for a long time, and then episode
two was better.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Yeah, Task Task, Yeah, highly highly recommended. And then maybe
as we move forward, we pulled the curtain back and
go ahead and spoil some things. But we're giving you notice.
Go watch Task on HBO because we're going to talk
about it on the show. All right, coming up in
three or four minutes, we'll go around the sports, don't
go anywhere, the Rangers are in trouble, and why this
guy left the Mavericks. He's talking about it. All that's

(33:44):
coming your way next. You are listening to the world
famous Ben and Skin Show. Coming up here in a bit,
we're gonna get into little Dallas Cowboys football talk, a
little Javante Williams. We got the Today game coming up.
Some wildlife news, oh story about a wild pack of lawless,
outlawed dogs here in Dallas Fort Worth. We've got to
get into that. But this segment right here is brought
to you by the Frankeles. We just gave you their

(34:05):
phone number. We're gonna give it to you again. If
you've been involved in a wreck, that's not your fault.
Call the Frankeles two one four, three three three thirty
three thirty three. They're local guys. It cost you nothing
to call the Frankeles. If you were a friend or
a neighbor, anyone you know has been involved in a wreck,
call the Frankels two one four, three three three thirty
three thirty three. But right now it's time for this.

Speaker 7 (34:26):
Now it's around the sports KTD twins as all the sports.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
Yes, all right, So, uh Rangers loss last night six
to five. They got down six to one, they clawed back.
We thought it might be a comeback situation, just couldn't
finish the deal.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
Ran out of time.

Speaker 5 (34:47):
What's a real bummer here is that the trade deadline
When they traded some prospects for Merrill Kelly. You trade
him for a big game like last night, and he
ended up just getting rocked. So need to win tonight
and after the show, I'm hopping on my private plane,
gonna fly down to Houston, put on my Kevo costume
and bring home the silver booty. All right tonight. If

(35:10):
the Rangers do win, they do have the tiebreaker over Houston. Yeah,
which could pan out, but the Rangers would need to
go probably seven and two, eight and one maybe maybe yeah,
probably seven to two in last nine games to get in.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
What a bizarre season. I think they're cooked. Weird hate
to see it, but you know, they to be such
a good pitching staff, Like we're not used to that here,
the Ranger fans, we don't ever get that. Like we've
always had way too much offense not near enough pitching,
and now it's the exact opposite where we have way
too you know, way a ton of great pitching, like

(35:47):
best in class starting pitching, but worst in class offense.
It's truly sad, and yeah, it's like, how did this happen?
And then right when you're ready to just you say, God,
what a kick to the balls, the little rascals start playing. Well.
These guys who you have no high expectations for all
your or many of your biggest stars are out and
injured and not able to play, and you really think

(36:09):
you're cooked. And they prolonged hope, and they came in
and somehow we're able. Guys who just you wouldn't expect
anything from are carrying the team. But they've just puttered
out here and they're probably cooked at this point. You
absolutely hate to see it.

Speaker 5 (36:26):
But you know, wednd night and then we can talk
about what's gonna happen this weekend and maybe some of
you will win a four pactor. You see the Marlins
on Sunday. So Luca whole of Wall Street Journal cover
piece about him, really no new information, but it's just
more pr of him being in shape and all that
good stuff. God Sham God was an assistant coach for

(36:47):
the Master a long time. He left to go to
the Orlando Magic. He was doing a podcast and I
have two clips. I thought it was pretty interesting, great,
and I'm gonna play it right now.

Speaker 8 (36:57):
And the thing about Dallas was it was just getting
spooky times man Like it was like, like I love Dallas,
you know what I'm saying, And I'm cool with everybody
that's over there, even though I'm left. But for me,
Orlando was just an amazing spot. You know, Coach Mosley,
you know we coached together in Dallas. That's like one
of my closest friends too. So like, you know, those

(37:18):
people who you feel you could trust your career with,
and like even if y'all don't agree, you like I
still know this person got my best interest, right, So
like when you don't have that where you don't feel
at then that's hard because you got going there and
work every day. And then when the thing happened with Elle,
I mean, Luca is like that's my little bro. And
he was like holding it down like it wasn't like,

(37:41):
you know, we could get into some meatrics about this
or that.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
I'm gonna tell you one thing.

Speaker 8 (37:45):
When the game was the biggest and the brightest, he
was never a passenger.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
He was always a driver.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
For me.

Speaker 8 (37:51):
It's Jordan, Kobe, Luca when it comes to the in factor, right.
So like we could sit here and we can say, yo,
it's not this, it's not that. But like the man's
twenty five. He's the second all the time leading scorer
in the playoff history, you know what I mean, peop
who play this game, he's second only to Jordian.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
I thought he said a lot of things without saying it.

Speaker 5 (38:11):
But I think when he said when you don't feel
like people are looking out for like what's best for you, Yeah,
like he doesn't trust and that's maybe like the new
corporate atmosphere that the MAVs are now. Yeah, and he
goes running the thing is like a corporation. Yeah, real quick,
do you do think as you said like spooky times.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
Yeah, it's just you know, the environment that he's describing
and other people have described it too, is that you know,
it's almost like you have big corporate money that came
in and there's a difference between a giant corporation and
a mod paw operation Cuban Ran it like a family
owned business and there's that familial connection. The corporate side

(38:49):
may be more revenue results driven and more I don't know,
like cold blooded, like it just comes down to whatever's
on the spreadsheet, Like the familial personal connection doesn't matter,
and the revenue results partner don't necessarily makes sense to trade, Luca.
But you're trying to figure it out. No, No, I
think I'm talking more about the environment, you know. But yeah,

(39:13):
and that is you know, in a corporate environment, you
have people battling for position and trying to gain leverage
and you know, kiss somebody's ass and gain power and
then block out other people who aren't don't want to
be political. It can be a toxic environment.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
I know we got to go, but I do want
to play this one. We'll make up for it later
in the show. Wildlife news come up in a bit.
But here's this.

Speaker 8 (39:35):
This year in the finals, it was six different people
who led six different categories. When we went to the finals,
Luca led to every six categories even stills. Right, So
when you say, like this person is out of shape, okay,
that's cool.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
But when you go to the hard copy, he.

Speaker 8 (39:52):
Played more minutes than everybody in the NBA in regular
season and playoffs. Right, So then for me it's like
in he averaged thirty nine and none. So it's like
what we like, what we talk about in real time.
And the biggest thing with me was that that was
dope about Elis. Lucas knew. Luca has never told anyone
to cut somebody, trade somebody. I need more help, I

(40:15):
need this. That's half the battle right there, you know
what I'm saying. And be went in the office in
Philly and told them to do yo, were not listening
to y'all. You know what I'm saying. So like when
the thing went down, it's just like it's like one
of those things, was you like, man, somebody treat you,
treat your man like that is only a countdown to it.
So you're basically saying that made a major part in

(40:37):
the decisions for you to leave with how Luca exited dollars.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
Yeah, yeah, and I never heard anyone call him l
and dude to go work with Jamal Mosley. We got
to see him on Saturday, to one of the most
of the great beloved guys in all of the NBA.
And what they're doing in Orlando super promising. All Right,
there you have it. There's Around the Sports coming up
next in the Wildlife News. A wild pack of lawless
outlaw dogs is in df W. What does that mean

(41:04):
for you? We'll talk about that next Cowboy.

Speaker 5 (41:10):
Surprise. Okay, today and cussing the Cowboys, I want to
spend a little bit time talking about a guy who

(41:30):
I think we didn't talk about much because we didn't
even know how much he would be playing. Javonte Williams
through two weeks of the season is one of the
league's leading rushers. It was just like, start looking at
stats and things like that. And last year the Cowboys
had six rushing touchdowns between Zeke and Rico Daddle and
whoever else. He's got three already through two games. Man,

(41:54):
this is it happens all the time. It's just in
sports talk.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
If you do, you want to be opinionated, right, and
you just have a take, and just so often I'm wrong.
Like I wanted the Cowboys to draft Johnny Manziel over
Zach Martin, and I was literally disappointed in that. Johnny
Manzel drank his way out of the league almost immediately.
Zach Martin went on to be one of the greatest
Cowboys of all time. I trashed the Cowboys for having

(42:19):
Javonte Williams be their planet running back. I really thought
that they would go at a dynamic runner and they
did not. And their Javonte Williams is making me look
like an idiot, and I'm glad he is because I
love I want the Cowboys to be good man. He
is way outperformed with my expectations. I was cautiously optimistic,

(42:43):
but I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (42:44):
I don't think anyone I expected much because he had
just been hurt and had not been what he was
the first round draft pick who had not really panned out.
But again he got hurt twice, so bad situation in
Denver two at the time. So now he's here, he's
you know, playing very well on the offensive line. They've
spent resources on that. It all makes sense, it all
comes together. But this is kind of where I was

(43:06):
in the rushing game, is at least we're not running
Zeke out there. Like, if we're not running Zeke out there,
it's gonna be an upgrade no matter what. Like Rico
Dawdle was one thousand yard rusher last year, finally because
in Week ten they decided to take Zeke out of
the equation. But they were not trying to give ric
o' dawdell the ball. You know, the first half of
the year last year, Rico o Dawell ran the ball

(43:27):
two hundred and thirty five times.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (43:31):
His longest run of the year was for twenty seven
yards okay, two hundred and thirty five times. He carried
it twenty seven yards as long shrunt. It only took
Javonte Williams twenty four carries to beat that. With the
run of I think it was a thirty three yard
touchdown run. So he's already beat you know that in
two weeks.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
He I've heard people make comparisons to Marion Barber with him.
I don't know if that's accurate.

Speaker 5 (43:53):
A lot.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
It does bring up great memories of Marion Barber. But
the idea is that, you know, Javonte Williams runs huff
like and he's looking even better in the fourth quarter
of games. And he's kind of a hard guy to tackle.
Some of his runs have been it looks like there's
nothing there, and then he turns it into something nice, right,
like he breaks freeze like sometimes hard to tackle.

Speaker 5 (44:15):
He did that in college too. I just remember that
in North Carolina. That's one thing about it. But he
also like can catch and take on blockers and all
that stuff. Like it's he's a complete package in that regard.
Miles Sanders was seen as the more like bursty guy,
but injuries have caught up with him. Clearly he didn't
have that burst you No, he saw him get fetched
in week one and all that. Jane Blue is supposed

(44:35):
to be that guy, and he can't get on the
field because he likely doesn't know the place. I'm guessing
I'm I mean, I'm reading into the context clues from
what Brian Schottenheimer has said, both on record and off Yeah,
like you're kind of like, okay, well, yeah, he basically
said in that press conference right there, that you have
to practice hard every day and know where you're lining up.

(44:56):
So we had a problem there. But hey, I was
also thinking about the Jay Blue thing. Is like I
would go out of my way to have a package
of five plays for him, the same way I would
have been doing that for Turpin all these years. And
maybe they'll get there once he's earned it, you know what,
You've earned the right to get the ball.

Speaker 1 (45:12):
Yeah, but I was.

Speaker 5 (45:13):
Also thinking, like, hey, game week ten, you've got kind
of add Jade and blue to this thing. Javonte Williams
could be worn down. You know that there's a chance
that works out like that. Yeah, all right, right, that
makes sense. He'd let him learn a little bit and
then he's you go to the bullpen. He's fresh.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
I want to mention Cabante Turpin because he was in
a neck brace after the game. That's a tough look too.
You never want to play the neck brace guys. His
teammates were giving him grief about it, which that is
a good sign that maybe it's not too bad if
you're making fun of a guy's neck brace. Yeah, but
he's so itty bitty, Like part of me thinks, all right,
if you're gonna have him heavily involved in the offense.

(45:47):
Don't have him return kicks. That's where he got hurt.
But that's where he's most dangerous because he's the best
in the league at that but he is so tiny.
If you if you go to him too much, you're
gonna get him killed. Back there, he's gonna get injured.
I never had confidence when they're throwing it to him,
like that throw that Dak made the day in between
everyone and Turpert was just kind of hiding in the middle.

(46:07):
There's like seven bodies around him, Like, how did he
find the little guy in there? Dude, Dak is playing
out of his mind. I don't think they have I
don't think either offensive tackle is very good. He doesn't
have a lot of time, and he is playing out
of his mind, like some of those throws to CD
where CD is in double coverage but he still gets
in the ball. Dak is playing at an extremely high level.

(46:30):
They they could be two and oh, they could be
zero and two. It kind of makes sense that they're
one in one. But they absolutely could have beat the
Eagles too. They absolutely could have lost the Giants. Kind
of crazy well. To get more into the Bears in
the next couple of days in this segment, because I've
learned a lot about them yesterday from our buddy TC Fleming,
a lifelong Bears fan, and let's just say he thinks
there's gonna be a lot of points scored on Sunday. Oh,

(46:52):
we'll tell you more about that later in the week.
All right, coming up next, just over three minutes away,
don't go anywhere. A local band director was jumped by
some high school. We'll talk about that before. Are you Excited?

Speaker 4 (47:06):
Day?

Speaker 1 (47:08):
Featuring veteran news anchor kt f on tweets.

Speaker 5 (47:11):
TOBC five WNBC five has a story about a band
director in Fort Worth. I'm not going to give you
too many more details. Don't you to listen to this audio.
It's about a minute long. There is a part of
this audio I did question.

Speaker 1 (47:26):
I might stop it then, but yeah, a wild story
about a band director in a Fort Worth high school.

Speaker 4 (47:31):
This afternoon, I spoke with the Southwest High School band director,
Jeff Demag. He says he is healing but did not
want to go on camera.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
So take a look. You see this tower. This is
the band tower.

Speaker 4 (47:42):
Jeff says he finished a meeting Friday afternoon, just before
five o'clock, when he noticed several young people at the top,
he told them to climb down for their safety. He
unlocked this ladder that's right here.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
Okay, So I want to explain what this band tower
looks like.

Speaker 5 (47:57):
It's about three flights of stairs up, so like you know,
the conductor would be on top so the band can see.
But I would say the way it's built, three flights
of stairs up, and they do have a little compartment
at the bottom at the base of this tower where
they you can unlock it, and there's a ladder. So
these kids had climbed over a fence and then climbed

(48:17):
up the tower. So he's like, okay, guys, get down.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
Come on.

Speaker 5 (48:22):
Now you're thinking, okay, are those students that go to
that high school? Well we'll find out a little more here.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
He says.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
Instead, the young people climbed on the outside of the
tower and came down. So he says at that point
he asked them for their names, who they are, where
they're from. He had his phone out trying to take
a picture and video. He says that's when he got
punched and one of the young people slapped the phone
out of the hand, took off and went off in
the skateboard.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
Jeff says, so not funny, went off in the skateboard,
but took off and went off in the skateboard, went
off in the skateboard. She had a chance to fix that,
like she did. Like, so I'm thinking it's like a
live hit, right, Yeah, what a live hit. You could
have fixed that. And I got her online, so it
could have been live and went off in the skateboard,

(49:09):
went off in the skateboards kind of mailed. Okay, So
did they did these hooligans? Did they knock the phone
out of the band director's hand and take the phone?
Sounds like it. I would hope that if you're gonna
do that, you take the phone with you. Let me
see if she.

Speaker 4 (49:25):
And one of the young people slapped the phone out
of the hand, took off and went off in the skateboard.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
Okay, so maybe not. Maybe didn't take the phone.

Speaker 3 (49:33):
Flapped it and left the video on his phone?

Speaker 1 (49:35):
All right, Why wouldn't. Yeah, Okay, So we're asking questions
because this is the detective work the city needs. Yeah,
so this is assault, Yeah, this asault. Yeah, this is assault.
And if it's a minor assaulting an adult, you have
to charge them as an adult. Wow, I don't know
if that's true. Okay, all right, Well so if yeah,
I don't think that's true, Like, that's interesting, okay, But

(49:57):
if they got away on a skate that would indicate
to you that it's not gonna be too hard to
find them. They didn't come from super far away. They
came from because the skateboard is not a long range
transportation vehicle. For whatever reason, in my head, I'm picturing
this as four. It's not clear if it's three, four
or five, but I'm picture picturing it as four. So

(50:18):
four v one you get hit. They take on a skateboard,
but you did get hit. Yeah, and you know I'm
your band director, So tell me if this part this part,
stop me down a little bit, okay.

Speaker 4 (50:30):
Jeff says he followed the group for a few blocks
of the sixty one hundred block of Welsh.

Speaker 5 (50:35):
Well you followed them, did, Yeah? I'm never following anyone.
Like I just got my ass kicked. I do not
want to get more of that. Yeah, what do you
think that's not anyone?

Speaker 1 (50:45):
Do you think you're following them to their hideout or
something or they're going to go to one of their homes, Like,
what's going to happen?

Speaker 3 (50:50):
I'm assuming he wants to talk to their parents and
he's trying to follow them at their home. But I agree,
never follow anyone.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
He's an educator at heart.

Speaker 5 (50:59):
We do need dis here, so we need to find
out who these kids are and they need to know
what they've done.

Speaker 4 (51:05):
So we followed him since he followed the group for
a few blocks of the sixty one hundred block of
Welsh Avenue, where three of the young people again grabbing
him by the neck, punching him and hurting him.

Speaker 1 (51:16):
Okay, this is what you get following it, and so
you shouldn't get it. They're terrible. The kids suck, But
don't follow them and get more. They already hit you,
ye capture any I guess did they take it? It
really comes down to did they take his phone? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (51:29):
Right?

Speaker 1 (51:29):
I still don't know. And couldn't you track your phone
to follow him where they went anyways without them seeing
you following?

Speaker 5 (51:35):
Yeah, call the police like that makes me think they
probably didn't. But maybe he was following them to get
his phone that they took. But as long as oay,
but just I don't know.

Speaker 1 (51:44):
I don't know. I you know, I don't know how
to handle the situation like this. First of all, you
don't know how old these kids are. Are they pretty
intimidating or are they just young punks? And like, I'll
give you an example. So in my neighborhood there we
have these pickleball courts and some kids have been coming over,
I guess from another neighborhood, and they just wreak havoc

(52:04):
on those pickleball courts. There's like eight courts there, and
they'll take over a court and play soccer on it
just to mess with everyone, right, And they're damaging the
nets and they're just creating a real problem. And I'm like,
if I was there for that, my inclination, my instinct
would be to go kick their ball as far as
I could, But I'm sure I would then get into

(52:25):
an altercation with high school kids. Yeah, And what's the
good thing that comes from that? On a single thing?
You either get your ass kicked by a plethora of them,
or you kick one's ass and go to jail for
beating up a minor. Like what positive can happen from that?

Speaker 5 (52:39):
Maybe one's packing too right, unhinged. Yeah, oh get well, play.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
Is fort Worth?

Speaker 3 (52:44):
Please say?

Speaker 4 (52:45):
Someone driving by was able to break up the salts
and the suspects walked away.

Speaker 1 (52:49):
He says.

Speaker 4 (52:49):
Some nearby witnesses were able to identify two of the
four suspects, and they were able to get some video
footage from cameras from the rec center in nearby homes.

Speaker 1 (52:59):
So maybe we'll find find out who these little bastards.
They'll get their justice. Yeah, yeah, hopefully. All right, there
you have it, local high school kids jumping a band director.
All right, coming up next, let's get back into the bracket,
the bracket that has cultivated or that has captured the
attention of the entire media market. Lots of coverage on this,

(53:20):
the Colorful Name Bracket. We launched it earlier and it's
got everybody talking. Find out why next? Give me that
moves quickie. All right.

Speaker 5 (53:28):
So, Robert Redford, the actor, died yesterday at the age
of fifty nine. We've been commemorating his death with the
Colorful Name bracket. Redford is a great name, so colorful names.
And we get to the first half a little bit earlier.

Speaker 1 (53:42):
So we'll go.

Speaker 5 (53:43):
Now, there's three of us here, since Skin's gone, he'll
be back tomorrow. Number two on this bracket is Jack
White of the White Stripes and Jack White and the
Racking Tours against number thirty one Draymond Green. And again
all living is another important thing. I know a lot
of people would say Betty White or James Brown or
Al Green all have to be living here. I'll vote

(54:05):
Jack White. I think I know where Christina is going
to go, So I think we're good here. Yeah, I
think I know where Ben's gonna go. Yeah, big Darmon fan.
Now like I do like Draymond.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
I enjoy his podcast, But dude, nothing comes close to
Jack White, like you know, he's great.

Speaker 5 (54:22):
This is seen by Pundit says the toughest first round
matchup Number fifteen, Vana White against number eighteen Jeremy Allen White.

Speaker 1 (54:29):
Oh oh, I'd like to get things started. Being an
old man horn dog. I'm gonna take Vanna White, Christina.

Speaker 3 (54:42):
Okay, Vanna great with Ryan Seacrest on Wheel of Fortune.

Speaker 1 (54:46):
Oh, I'll leave it at that.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
But Jeremy Allen White got snubbed at the Emmy's the
other night, So I'm gonna go with Jeremy Allen White.

Speaker 5 (54:53):
The think about Jeremy Allen White is I feel like
his demeanor brings me down. Okay, Now, I also don't
think Vana White does much like she gets paid a
lot of money to just go.

Speaker 1 (55:05):
Touch a screen.

Speaker 3 (55:06):
Oh she does more than that now.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
Back in the day, oh really, back in the day.

Speaker 5 (55:11):
Back in the day, she had to exert some upper
body strength and kind of get up on her tiptoes,
on those heels and really push that that the block
over tiptoes too.

Speaker 3 (55:19):
And now it's like it could probably just do it.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
So it's probably you know, but I'll give it to
Vana White.

Speaker 5 (55:26):
I think she deserves it, although I'll say I would
like to take it back. If the Bruce Springsteen movie
with Jeremy Allen White's good, I feel like, I.

Speaker 1 (55:36):
Hope it's good. He seems like a little miracle. Is
he like five to five? I don't know what a
tiny guy? Uh. The thing that really bothers me about
the Bear is how the Emmys call it a comic.
Why do we have to do that? Drives me inside.

Speaker 5 (55:50):
I don't think anyone understands that. After the first season,
I get it, but yeah, then on it's like, no
even Bergazi made a joke about it. Yeah, yeah, number ten,
Mean Joe Green. It's number twenty three, Alicia Silverstone, Oh tough?

Speaker 1 (56:06):
Is it that tough for me? I support the three
and oh mean Green and good luck to them against
Army this Saturday. Mean Joe Green.

Speaker 3 (56:15):
It's my alma mater, so I have to.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
You know I too. I am the voice of North
Texas football. A lot of people come to me as
the foremost expert when it comes to my college. I
went there. I was very involved in covering that program
at every turn. Give me the University of North Texas
and mean Joe Green, Mean Joe Green.

Speaker 5 (56:33):
Sorry, Alisha, Sorry, Alicia. Number sex, This one's right up.
Ben's Outley. He'll go first on this one. Christina number seven,
Goldie Han, number twenty six. Jennifer Gray.

Speaker 1 (56:45):
What a great matchup? Okay, So Jennifer Gray. She was
just in the Sheen Charlie Sheen documentary. Right, she's the
sister in Ferris Farris Bueler. She was talking about that
scene with Charlie Sheen. Never was a huge fan of hers.
Goldie Han, Oh my god, in her prime awesome. Has
an awesome daughter too, What a great daughter, mom, Combo,

(57:07):
Give me Goldie Han Christina.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
Dude, I have a girl crush on Kate Hudson so hard.
I always have.

Speaker 1 (57:14):
Yeah, so I have to go Goldie Oldie Han. Number three,
Scarlett Johanson, Scarlett's of Killer Really Scarlet Johansson and Brian
Austin Green David from nine O two toe. Oh, I
think we're all good with Scargio there, am I wrong?

Speaker 3 (57:28):
That's amazing the other night she always does but yeah, man,
imagine that.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
Yeah, it'd be a story of views that you will
but ugly, right, dude, I stumbled across one of her movies,
don Juan. Oh, yeah, she is so good in that.
Do y'all ever see that?

Speaker 8 (57:43):
No?

Speaker 1 (57:45):
Should I? She's like holding out in this relationship with him,
and it manipulating the Can you look up a scene
on mister skin dot com? She did it. She made
it happen in full clothing. Oh wow, it was just
really they were reverse Kate Winslet, really solid work.

Speaker 3 (58:02):
She could make it happen.

Speaker 5 (58:03):
Yeah, clothing, let's work quick. Here Three more matchups. Number
fourteen Lee Greenwood. It's number nineteen Sea Low Green Ah.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
Man, we're all they're both the same height.

Speaker 1 (58:15):
Right, yes, Oh god that's right, Jeremy Allen White powers over.
Then I'll never forget the time we write a ranger game.
And Skin was so moved by Lee Greenwood a song.
He stood up, put his hat on his heart. Pretty
soon the whole stadium was standing up all because Skin
was so moved, tears sobbing rolling down his face and

(58:36):
lip syncing this. It was a beautiful moment for me.
Beautiful moment, uh Skin though, So it's it's it's Lee
Greenwood A get too see low Green. Yeah, I give
me Sea low Green, Christina.

Speaker 3 (58:50):
That crazy song is fantastic, selow Green. I'm not sorry,
Lee Greenwood.

Speaker 5 (58:55):
I mean the allegations give me a little pause with
selow Green. But Lee Greenwood also did I'm to be
a Canadian, so like you can't be a patriotic guy
and then do your song for other countries.

Speaker 1 (59:04):
Yeah, I'm proud to be Argentinian, like you made it
for every country. Number eleven Sarah Silverman against Number twenty
two Macy Gray.

Speaker 3 (59:12):
I was wondering if Macy Gray would be a here.

Speaker 5 (59:14):
He's one of my sneaky karaoke choices out of nowhere.
Hit you with I try. I'll vote Sarah Silverman.

Speaker 3 (59:24):
I'll do Macy Gray just to make it interesting.

Speaker 1 (59:26):
Ben Ben, I'll take Sarah Silverman. Still so funny. Stumble
across her on social media. Everyone's while always cracks me up.
This matchup, the final one of round one, is one
you'd like to see in a wrestling ring. The manster
Randy White against Erkele Jalil White. I just had a
post about who are the greatest Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle

(59:49):
tandem of all time? Get me Randy White.

Speaker 5 (59:52):
I too will take Randy White, all right, properly sixteen
coming up next for the finish. All right, the Ben
and skin Show wrapping up for the day. We will
be back tomorrow three to six and Friday three to six.
Empty Pluckers and Addison. We love for you to come
out and see us. Jeff Skinway will be back tomorrow.

(01:00:14):
But we've been working on this big bracket here in Christina.
I think it's time to hit the button.

Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
And that's a big, really big Yes.

Speaker 5 (01:00:27):
It is, sir, the Colorful Name bracket in honor of
Robert Redford. I imagine he's looking down on us, smiling.
I think he would have some directorial choices that he
would make because he saw.

Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
The screen, you know, from behind a camera as well.
I bet he's like in a stream looking back at us,
not like SMI.

Speaker 5 (01:00:48):
Yeah, okay, Well we are down to the sweet sixteen,
and again these are all living people. Number one Jack
Black against number seventeen Meg White is where I have
to say, sorry, Meg waffling here, been into her waffling.

Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
I would have win.

Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
Jack Black as well.

Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
Seems trying to support women in there, but I get it,
and you rarely see women supporting women, so that was fair.
Number nine Jeff Goldbloom against number eight Rowando black Men.
Oh my god, what a match up. So much criteria
here needed God. Skin would be torn to pieces here.
Jeff Goldbloom's like his favorite guy, Christina. I know you

(01:01:31):
love Jurassic Park. You probably got some Jeff Goldblue moments there.
But when Skin and I were growing up, you know,
it was Derek Harper, Mark Cguire, Rolando black Men leading
the Mavericks. I'm gonna go ahead, and I'd be happy
no matter who wins this, but I'm gonna take Rolando
Blackman because I just saw him on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
I'm going Jeff Goldbloom.

Speaker 5 (01:01:49):
I want to go to coin. Okay, we have a coin. No,
I don't have a hard opinion.

Speaker 1 (01:01:53):
On this one.

Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
Really. Yeah, have you seen the fly?

Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Nope? I need Yeah, ok looking for a coin. As
if there's a corn.

Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
You're gonna flip a koozie.

Speaker 5 (01:02:05):
Yeah, okay, one says Ben, the other one says bandidos
So all right.

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
And we'll be black Men. Band will be And I
wonder if Skin would be happy with that or not.

Speaker 5 (01:02:23):
Black Men's going down next round, so we'll see. Okay,
number four, we'll be Goldberg. I guess number twenty Millie
Bobby Brown.

Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
I think I'll go Milly on that one.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
Ben, I'm gonna go Millie as well. Okay, thank you.
I don't want to do any.

Speaker 5 (01:02:42):
Billie Bobby Brown eleven advances Number twelve. Frank Black of
the Pixies, Number five, Emma Stone, what is the criteria?

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
You know?

Speaker 5 (01:02:54):
This is where you getting these tough things? Like what
are we even talking about? I'm you know what, I
know it's gonna put me over that. The Pixies again
a top twenty band for me. I love Frank Black,
even though he's a bit of a psychopath. I'm taking
him a stone. Oh her work in the movie Poor
Things Wonderful, her work in the fantastic Showtime show The

(01:03:19):
Curse with Nathan Fielder, and then upcoming later this fall,
Bogonia with her and Jesse Plemons. That one looks like
it's gonna be a wild one. It's her work, not
just super bad all that stuff. Emma Stone for me,
she also seems like a down to earth person too.

Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
You know what, She's awesome. Yeah, I am trying to
get Poor Things out of my mind.

Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
That movie.

Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
It was so weird love and it will stick with you.
I'm going Emma Stone, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:03:48):
Yeah, I would have gone Emma Stone too. She's easy
to root for. She's gorgeous and fun and humble and
seems like a normal person. To the elite eight.

Speaker 5 (01:03:55):
She goes Jack White, number two against number fifteen, Vana White.
I'll go first, Jack White. He works harder than Vana.
Does it hurt at their job?

Speaker 1 (01:04:06):
Yeah? And it's not prime Vana. So it's like Grandma,
Vanna give me Jack White.

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
You probably gets. Does she get paid more than him?
There's no way.

Speaker 5 (01:04:16):
Yeah, there's no doubt she does. Number ten, mean, Joe
Green gets number seven Goldie Han.

Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
Oh. The matchup we've all been waiting for. I'm going
down swinging with the three and oh mean Green. Okay,
I'm gonna go Goldie Han just because she's awesome. Kate
Hudson's awesome. Let's put all the pressure on Christina.

Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
Yeah, and U and T everyone from you and T's listening, like,
come on, Christino, we need this Goldie Han.

Speaker 5 (01:04:42):
Oh yeah, women sticking together, this is amazing. Number three,
Scarlet Johansson. I gets number nineteen. See Lo Green, HEYT.
You like to see women stick together?

Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
I do, well exactly. That's why I like that.

Speaker 5 (01:05:00):
And Brittany those twins who are a body but two heads,
or that new.

Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Smutty show on Netflix, The Hunting Wives. Oh yeah, what
ees this matchup? Estrala Johansen versus Celo Green Scocho.

Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
Yeah, I'm going to continue to stick with women Arlotte Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Number eleven, Sarah Silverman. Number six, Randy White. Oh, no
one ever anticipated this ever being a thing.

Speaker 5 (01:05:29):
Despite the fact that Randy White has caressed my hand
once while viewing a commercial that I shot for him
over fifteen years ago, probably doing some work for Mike
s Aroy, so he.

Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
Didn't have to go do it. I'll rest it was wild.
He put his hand on my hand, and you don't
know the touch of a man until the manster has
put his hand on your hand.

Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
Help guide the kid.

Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
He was like holding. So number eleven, Sarah Silverman is
my vote. I want to go with the Manster. Prosper
Zone kind of lives near me. Great guy, looks like
he could still play. He's listening on his tractor right now.

Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
Big listener katt And is traumatizing flashbacks today. I'm going
Sarah Silverman.

Speaker 1 (01:06:10):
It was a wild moment. Not mad about it though.
I like her too. Yeah, she's great. Number one. We're
to the elite.

Speaker 5 (01:06:16):
Number one, Jack Black versus Rolando Blackman.

Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
It's a good, good run, bro, Yeah, it was a
good run.

Speaker 5 (01:06:25):
We give it to Jables. He moves on Number twenty
Millie Bobby Brown. Number five, Emma.

Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
Stone, Oh to me, it's Emma yeah, yep, Like pretty easily.

Speaker 5 (01:06:37):
We got there to the final four. They go number two,
Jack White, number seven, Goldie Han. I'm going Goldie Han.

Speaker 1 (01:06:46):
I think this is gonna be tougher for you guys,
but I'm gonna go Goldie Han.

Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
Not too tough just yet. Jack White for me.

Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
I'll take Jack White, Sorry, not mad about it.

Speaker 5 (01:06:56):
Number three Scarlett Jhanson. Number eleven, Sarah's overman.

Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
Easy, give me the Star of Don Juan. I will
take Sarah Silverman and leave it up to Christina.

Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
You know what, The New Jurassic World sucks, but she
was great in it. Give me scar Joe. Okay, sorry,
Joe advances. So three of the top five seeds advanced
to the final four. That means my seating process was
pretty good. Yeah, yeah, it's perfect.

Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
You pat yourself on the back. Number four, Whoopy Goldberg. Sorry.

Speaker 5 (01:07:27):
Number one Jack Black versus Emma Stone. Know who's number five? Okay,
this is count of three.

Speaker 1 (01:07:35):
This is the final four.

Speaker 5 (01:07:36):
That's the final four, so we have to say it.
On the count of three, we say who we're voting for. Okay, okay,
so number one, Jack Black, number five in a Stone.

Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
One two. Wait, we'll go one two and then we'll
shoot the name. Okay, we'll shoot count three. Then, so
we say we're gonna shoot. We're gonna shoot one too.
Now you don't say you're gonna shoot, You're gonna shoot.
I'm grabbing umbrella, I'm about to shoot. I'm gonna say
or do you say shoot? Do you tell us to shoot?

(01:08:04):
You say one two, and then we shoot the name. Okay, okay,
No one says shoot the name. Oh, we don't say shoot,
you shoot the name after one two? All right, one
gonna shoot Jack Black versus Emma Stone one two. I'm sorry,
number one Jack Black.

Speaker 3 (01:08:23):
Against don't I'm so confused by the rules.

Speaker 1 (01:08:25):
Now one two dog.

Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Jack Black, she.

Speaker 1 (01:08:31):
Said, Jack White, not mad about He's great.

Speaker 5 (01:08:35):
So Jables will take on in the championship number two
Jack White against number three Scarlett Johansson. Jack White against
scar Jost one two and then shoot thet the rules.

Speaker 1 (01:08:50):
Definitely gonna shoot on this.

Speaker 5 (01:08:57):
One.

Speaker 1 (01:08:58):
See we hand me that towel, no water, one two
Jack Janson.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Oh, I was confused. It's Jack White, Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
Number one Jack Black against number number one Jack Black
against number two Jack White, one two, and then shoot

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
