And now the guy she's with turned around and went, wait, what, yes,
what is happening right now? He confided in me that
he used to dance at Lebert, so that was his
song and that's why he's wearing a bow tie with
no shirt. That's okay, man, that makes sense now, all right,

Get your weekend start off right. Obviously a big portion
of today's show is going to be discussing Dallas Cowboys football.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
When does their season start?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
What a strange game like to First of all, how
long was the weather delay?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Hours? Like an hour? An hour? Yeah, fifteen?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
And the second part of the game that happened after
the weather delay was a totally different game.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Like early it was each.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Offense just scored every time they had the ball, and
then after that nobody scored.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Yeah, that is pretty crazy, and it is weird in
any sport when you have a crazy long delay. I
would imagine far and away the worse for that is football,
because there's just hitting on every play. Hey, go, get ready,
hit for an hour and a half, stop for an hour,
and do it for We'll wait till halftime, then play

(04:15):
for about fifteen, then stop for another hour, and then
go out there and do some more hitting and let
me know how it works out. The best part of
all that was Treyvon Diggs has kind of snuck off
to do his own thing, and he was looking for
uncrustables in the field level suites.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
That was my favorite report. Of the night.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Right, they had like security cam footage of him walking
and taking his pads off. He's going into the suite
full of Eagles fans. They had uncrustables because the sandwich
trailer or the sandwich cart was on the way to
the locker room, right, so he was looking for some food.
They're not prepared for that type of thing, right, And
it does we should have known it was gonna rain
last night, and I think it was talked about a
little bit.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
It does show how great uncrustables are because even in
your corner, making over like twenty million or whatever he's
making per year, you still just want a good old uncrustable.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Oh yeah, dude, Actually just if they's some in an
ice chest.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
It's funny though, because the professional athlete views it as
fuel and I'll view it as something to do on
cheat day, right, rights, is not healthy.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
All right.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
So the way the game started, it felt like the
Cowboys are going to give up fifty points. I was like, Okay,
this is the worst defense that's ever happened, the no
one's ever put together worst defense. The Cowboys were insisting
on bringing just four people to rush the quarterback, and
they were getting absolutely no pressure, which made me miss
Michah Parsons. Obviously, I'm like, ah, leave, you just had

(05:32):
one disruptor. But it's a tough game to like reconcile
because I think ultimately.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
They lost and there are no moral victories.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
But I think ultimately I leave that game being encouraged
that they're better than I thought they were.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
I'm way encouraged for a lot of reasons.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
The main things is most of the run damage was
done when they were passing, like they couldn't contain Jalen Hurts.
Saquon Barkley did not run all over the Cowboys. I mean,
he had some nice runs, but he did not run
all over the Cowboys. Jalen Hurts ran all over the
Cowboys when they couldn't contain him when the pocket broke down.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Right, so, all right, try to figure out how to
fix that.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
But man, the final minute of the first half gave
me so much blood flow to my lower section. I
forgot what it was like when an offense knows how
to run the end of a half right.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
I could not. I was like, man, I've seen other
teams do this before.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
You mean to tell me the head coach has a
plan when they called I mean because you know you're
watching it and you see eight seconds on the clock
and then the refs calling a timeout, and then he says,
there's fifteen seconds on the clock.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
You're watching that going.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Mike McCarthy would have, never, under any circumstance ever called
that timeout. They manufactured three points with fifty seconds to
go and two timeouts, and both of their timeouts were
called so well thought out based on the circumstances. Because
it's easy, eat a second to do it after the
factor right, it's easy to go, you should have done this,

(07:03):
you should have done this. They knew exactly what they
were doing. They knew how much time needed to happen,
what kind of plays to run. I don't even know
the last time we had that romo going rogue. Maybe
that was that was far and away from me. Besides
the fact they didn't get blown out by the Eagles,
the most encouraging thing was like, oh, things are different.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Now we're gonna play modern football. This is very exciting.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Yeah, Shody. I was very impressed by Shody. The motion,
the play calling, the clock management, and having the team
ready to play all that stellar stellar, stellar grade for
him in every way. You never anticipate CD Lamb to
have four drops in a game or three drop, whatever
you want to call. You don't expect CD Lamb to
just drop passes that hit him right in the bread basket. Obviously,

the Miles Sanders fumble sucked Myrtle Pickens penalty.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
So the Pickens penalty was bad. But that's expected. But
that's what you signed up.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
For, right, did you see the y There was a
play where it looked like maybe he would get an
interference call over in the corner, but he didn't get it.
And as he's running back, he grabs the receiver's leg.
He wants to fight, but he's like like and I
saw these posts are like, man, he almost let the
intrusive thoughts win. I guess that's the way George Pickens think.
Shoulder shoulder like, don't do that. But you know, all

things considered, I don't, I don't. It was a terrible
defensive game plan.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
The idea that.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
We're we're gonna rush for I guess we're gonna play
a lot of zone and we're not gonna spy the
quarterback because basically Jalen hurts. Just you know, I left
that game being reminded that Jalen Hurts is not a
scary player, like to me, he doesn't scare me like
he is. They have good receivers that weren't even there,

Like they.

Didn't even throw the ball last year.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Aj Brown had one catch for eight yards. Vonta Smith
had three for sixteen. Like, bro, that's like those are
real web And so once once the Cowboys are like,
all right, let's stop playing the way we planned to
play the first half. When they score on us at will,
let's actually load up the box, stop the run and
put pressure on Jayleen Hurts. Once they started doing that,

(09:13):
they were great defense at the horse. So why did
they have such a bad game play?

Speaker 2 (09:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
And then why did they go back to it on
third and three with a minute forty left in the game.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
You have a chance to get the ball back.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
Now, it's not you're not feeling good about the Eagles
having the ball in third and three?

Speaker 2 (09:26):
And what did they do?

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Four rushers, no spy, seven guys drop back, all playing zone,
just kind of not paying attention and then he runs
for the first down.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Like, dude, this you talking about the old in the
first half. No, the end of the game.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Oh, third and three because there the Cowboys had their
time out still. Yeah, after they didn't make the fourth
and three, right, so the Eagles get the ball, you
got a chance to get the ball back.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
It's third and three.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
They just got that seven yard pass to aj Brown,
his only catch of the night, and then they went
back to what they were.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Doing the entire first half. So that part's confusing. It
shouldn't feel like a win, but it kind of did.
I mean, I got to sit in here going, oh,
they're gonna kill the Giants next week, and that's so terrible.
I can't tell you how many people I talked to
that were like, oh my god, it's only eight and
a half.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
I'm taking the over.

There are so many people, like, so many bad things
have been said about so many people involved with everything
last night, including the.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Coach, And like then he kind of realized, Okay, maybe
it's not that bad. He does have a clock. Guy though,
did to learn that?

Speaker 5 (10:21):
Oh?

Right, Why wouldn't he all right, all right, we're not
anywhere near done talking about this game. We're at Pluckers

My wife's played over there, got me through the commercial break. Man.

We have lots to get to today, lots of fun
stuff to get to coming up at the bottom of
the hour in the Hollywood Shuffle the three most popular
shows that people are streaming right now, but we're talking
Dallas Cowboys football.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
They lose twenty four to twenty.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
But we are certainly style pointing that loss because I think,
you know, this is the first game of the year.
You don't know what your team's gonna be like, especially
now that nobody plays in the preseason.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Mikah gets traded, you have some concerns.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
You don't know what the offensive line is going to
be like. There's just a lot of things you don't know.
And man, they went toe to toe with the Super
Bowl champs last night. And I'm not blaming it on anybody,
but it's safe to say that if Cede Lamb has
a second half like he did in the first half,
i think we're talking upset here, or at least at
coming down to a final play in Philly, having the

(12:18):
ball and having a chance two huge drops for Cede Lamb.
One was very difficult, but the one that bounced off
his hands would have put the Cowboys at the twenty
yard line with a couple of minutes to go. You
know what, It reminded me of guys. It reminded me
of it's revisionist history. But since we just watched the
Netflix documentary series, I mean, the Cowboys didn't win every

game going away. They had tough games, and when they
absolutely had to have a play, they went to Michael
Irvin and he delivered. I'm not knocking Ceede Lamb, but
I'm just saying, you expect those guys to make those plays.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
At that time. He gets paid what thirty four million
a year or.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Something something like that, you know, like that seventh times
paid non quarterback football. I saw that some people were
calculating at four drops for over one hundred yards and
you know, and you even even for him that last ball,
You're like, Okay, he was all.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Out diving for that.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
I wouldn't call that a drop, but for his standards,
he usually comes up with that ball, and I guarantee
you he's beating himself up for not coming up with it.
And so, yeah, you could look at it on one
hand and say, yeah, there's so much to be happy about,
but at the same time, like the way the game
started with you know, their best defensive player, Jalen Carter

(13:35):
getting kicked out of the game for spinning on tack
that was such a gift and amazing. Weren't able to
capitalize on that. You know, it's like they got to
play us without Micah, but we got to play them
without their best defensive.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Player too, and then they lost a guard along the
way too.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
It's like they were they're very shorthanded comparatively, if we
had just been able to put a spot and maybe
it's like if we have Overshown, maybe Overshown as the
spy and maybe, you know, but we don't have him.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
He's out hurt. But you know, they didn't assign a
spy to Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
They brought four, they dropped back in zone coverage or
whatever it was, and then he just basically stood around
back there until he wanted to run for a first down.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
And he wasn't trying to throw it, No, but he
didn't throw it.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Last year, dude, the Cowboys just played Philly on the
road and lost by four and had some drops on
a final drive and held Saquon Barkley to like sixty yards. Also,
you know that the Eagles also had a bunch of penalties,
a lot of them aboarded the Cowboys first down, so
it's got lucky on that end.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
True.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
The problem with the Cowboys, I think now is I'm
gonna do the other side now instead of looking at
it for him.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
His cowboys don't have the margin of error that.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
They have, right, Like they can't like little things like this,
you're going to look back later, like, oh, and they
had all those penalties and CD dropped all those passes.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
CD had seven drops last year. He had four last night.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
And Jalen Carter spit in the Cleveland yard quarterback like
when all that happened, Like, oh, that's the difference in
us making him missing the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Yeah, they also got the gift of on third and
twenty two, an absolute garbage call that benefited the Cowboys,
the red blinking ship personal foul and third and twenty two.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
That chop Ferguson's had. What is he supposed to do? Yeah,
like there's nothing he can do. He didn't even really
try to hit him.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
And it's like, yeah, sure, I'll take that, but it's
like that's a garbage call, boy, and dude, and really
that whole sequence of First of all, Miles Sanders has
got to be the slowest running back in the league,
Like how does he not take that to the house
and a linebacker not only catches him, but circles him
strategically to try to bump the ball out of his hand.

And uh, and then you know there was the uh
there was a play that Dak threw just I thought
Dak was great all night, awesome, but he underthrew Ferguson
just a little bit. Or that's a touchdown, right, And
then none of that other stuff that happens, the pickens
pale and the fumble and all that stuff doesn't matter.
And how about Dak's tackle on the fumble?

Da tackle save the game? That whole sequence deserves a
full segment later the time on that amazing we'll do

radio ratings. You get a month, you get them a
month later, just like the radio rating.

three stream shows?

This is the problem with the modern era. I do
not know what was happening a month ago.

The modern era is a problem really hard because everything
has a five second attention span, So trying to remember
a month ago what was popping is damn near im possible.

Can I get a hint? Number three is a show
that both Ben and Christina partook. It's that Hunter Wives
or Texans That.

Yes, yeah, which the adult version.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Is way different. What do you mean an adult version?

The other like the adult version. It's not called The
Hunting Wives. It's a little different. I got you. He's

I've always liked throughout my viewing career.

So it but it really wasn't that good you call
that interaction. And I saw it through. I saw it through.

I watched the whole thing, and it started off hot
and heavy and was pretty good, and then it was like, oh,
it's not that good as it.

What do you mean hot and heavy? Exactly? What's the
point of it? Do you know what The Red Shoe
Diaries are? No?

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Okay, the point of it is okay, uh, it's it's
it's and I think they're making fun of a small
Texas town or the story takes place in a small
Texas town.

That's not right.

And the idea is there's this guy and he's real
rich and powerful and he also wants to be maybe
the governor of Texas.

Uh, but he's like a big time swinger. Oh okay
with his wife.

And so this new couple moves to town and they're Yankees,
and it's like both the man and the woman have
their eye on the lady and you know, it's like,
you know, they see her as a target to include
in their fun and then everything that happens from there.
One of the ladies is hooking up with a high

school senior who's eighteen.

By the way, Now, was that so prevalent and in
so many TV shows?

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Just think about the Desperate Housewives? Yeah, same thing, same thing.
The guy was out there mowing the yark.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
I saw the first twenty five minutes of the first episode,
and me and my wife were talking about it having
a hillbilly euphoria vibe, you know.

Because of what Ben's talk about.

Okay, you know, number two is a show I also
have not seen, even though it's been on for many years,
but came back with a new season.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
It has local ties, suits, oh, the creators, Mike Judge.
Oh oh listen, but no, it's also back. King of
the Hill is back.

Oh I knew that. So King of the Hill came back?
And where was it? But it was number two streaming
of that one. Yeah, wow, huh?

newspapers every week. The Fort Worth Star Telegram has a
whole article. Here are all the DFW references and this
week's King of the Hill episode. Oh and I was
like that many people really paying attention, and then I
learned today that maybe they are.

and you're and then you look, and then there's more meat,

like a nice restaurant.

What they do is they walk around with a lot
of surloon. Yeah, it's just filler steak. It's filler meat.
Oh and so it's the cheap stuff.

And so the guy with the surloin, you'll notice you
got how many sirloin guys they have. That guy is
like a helicopter because if you get full on the
cheap stuff, that saves them money.

You want to find those guys, and those guys are
they're not as readily available.

It was probably paying they ask to even wait on us.
But at the end, after I learned the system and
realized the surloin guy got lee.

Why is that guy like at our table? He's sitting
with us.

My friends started teaching me the waves of the forest,
and he would go, he goes, I'll tell you what
this cheese guy, cheese guy is gonna be where it's at.
And I was like, really at a steakhouse. So the
cheese guy came over. It turns out he was a
big ben and Skin Show listener is that right, yeah,
And I was like, hey, dude, I hear this cheese
is incredible. So he hooked it up and he kept
coming back and I'll be damned if that cheese isn't

better than some of the steak.

It's better than the sirloin. Okay, the cheese is good.

The only problem I had was this particular cheese guy
on shift this time. He wanted to do something fancy
when they put the honey on it, because the honey
takes it to a new level.

It does. It's just it's just the amount of honey.

So you know, if you guys have seen honey be
poured before, there's a long string. So he comes up,
there's the cheese on my plate, and he dabs the
honey and then like waves the honey wand around and
so there's like a string of honey on my arm.

And I'm like, that was unnecessary. He's doing salt based.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
He's honey babe, and and and getting honey on your arm,
you gotta go take a shower.

Do you understand what he's saying though about the cheese
like it it's it's basically the same size as a
grilled cheese. Sandwich, but it's a block of cheese with
no bread, and then they cut it into smaller pieces
and it's kind of like a it's kind of like
a breaded cheese finger without the breading. Yeah, think of
it thinking like a mozzarella stick, but it's not mozzarella.

Imagine peta being cheese with nothing on it. It's just
cheese and uh and it's delicious. I might go back
there in the morning and get some. But anyways, I
just so, what happened with the did you how did
you get it off your arm?

I eventually went to the bathroom. Oh my god.

That guy's terrorizing people with the honey. He is, and
it's it's so unnecessary. I mean, it's like, I don't

go back and like really look at the film to see.

After the storm delay, they were incredible. So was was
he leading the charge? Was everybody leaving the charge? They
just scheme it better they get more guys in the box.
I'm not sure, but yeah, definitely like the early returns,
they were better against the run.

They just couldn't get really pressure. Yeah.

They literally like ran no blitzes in the first half. Yeah,
