Speaker 1 (00:01):
Jus hot God every stay on top in the high
Wood shovel.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Room ship, Christina, I know you went Lake Housing over
the weekend.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Did you get to Happy Gilmore too?
Speaker 4 (00:20):
No, we were going to, but Mike brought a Survivor
game like board game club game that we ended up
playing all night instead.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Okay, No, it's fine, and I don't think you really
care too much about it if we spoil anything.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
No, you're fine too much.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Is Happy Gilmore too? Yeah, right, it's not that big
of a deal. I'm gonna tell you. I went to
I went to go get a just a little place nearby,
and uh, they do like snow cones, and I want
to go to a snow cone, right because it's telling
the snow cone Friday night and well alcohol and snow
cone too.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Oh okay, yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
And there's a there's a family sitting in there, so
I'm waiting online, I'm waiting in line, and it's about
it's three couples, so but they've all got their kids,
so there's a lot of people and it's like a
big booth and I'm overhearing their discussion and I hear
I only like Adam Sandler and Rom coms and they're
having a big Adam Sandler movie discussion. Okay, I'm to
(01:14):
go home with my boozie snow cone and watch Happy
Gilmore Too.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
And I'm just saying, this is.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
The pulse of America right now. You'll walk anywhere people
are talking about Adam Sandler. That's what you hear.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
I will say.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
Everyone brought up Happy Gilmore Too at the lake House
this weekend, Like.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
You guys are right that the movie's out.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Okay, it's huge.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
It was NonStop. I was seeing it hearing it everywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
I was surprised that I threw the Rangers on over
the weekend too. And there's they had a Happy gil
Moore two billboard behind home plate like they're promoting it
too everywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
So you got to it, Ben, Here's what I'll say.
Speaker 5 (01:46):
Oh no, I have to get an incomplete on this
assignment because I was waiting on your text all weekend.
I know, I know you're waiting by your phone waiting
to be texted. My wife's been out of town. I've
had a lot of my plate, and I've had a
bunch of early morning meetings. I've been getting up super early,
(02:08):
and so I got home Friday, and my son was like,
oh my god, have you started my nineteen year old son,
have you started watching Happy Gilmore too yet? And I
was like no, he said. He was like, I'm watching
it upstairs. I've just started it. And I was like,
don't tell me anything about it. I got to watch it.
So I put it on TV and I watched a
little bit of it, and then I fell asleep, no dude,
And then I woke up watch a little more than
(02:29):
I fell asleep. Then I watched a little more. And
what I saw from it, I saw some things I loved,
and I saw a billion cameos, and I saw things
that made me laugh and it was great, but also
it was I didn't love a lot of it from
a movie standpoint, and so I was like, man, I
(02:50):
don't want to crap all over this movie because I
haven't even seen the whole thing, but parts I saw, yeah,
good cameos, not great movie making.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
So I want to do in the next segment, I
want to run the list of cameos because it's astounding, astounding,
and honestly, it helps with the lack of uh, you know, like.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Where's this plotline going? Right?
Speaker 5 (03:13):
And I think they did it that way. They're like, hey,
look we have we want to get as many cameos
in this so let's make it a party that we filmed. Yes,
so this person I need to get them in this movie. Well,
how do I wedge a cameo in? Sometimes that'll throw
off the story writing, right because you're just forcing a
cameo in. And so there was a lot of that,
And I guess the main villain is the producer of
(03:35):
the serious movie he made or director of that?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Is that?
Speaker 5 (03:37):
What that was?
Speaker 1 (03:38):
That?
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Like the guy who the one where he's a jeweler
and he's Adam Sailors Jim, Yeah, yeah, Benny sat Jim. Yeah,
that's one of the Safty brothers. Yeah, I don't know
who that was.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
He's he's interesting. He's very artsy type guy. So like
I think he I think this guy is super talented.
I think he ruined at him was last stand up
special by making it like an art thing?
Speaker 5 (04:03):
Oh okay, no, because I thought he had that. You
had so many cameos and you gave that role to
a guy I don't even know what is that.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
He's big in Hollywood circles by again, god, everyone knows
who he is okay, but there's multiple villains.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I was.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
I said the other day, we should not expect Happy
Gilmore Too to be the same movie as Happy Gilmore.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Happy Gilmore was edgy.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
He was in his thirties, maybe late twenties even making this.
This is gonna be way different. And so I went
in low bar. So here is my number one feeling.
My number one feeling is I watched it and it
was better than I thought it was gonna be.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
I laughed a ton and I enjoyed it, and I
was smiling the whole time, So pretty happy.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
This is why you should always just have low expectations. Yes,
and then everything is awesome. It's like, oh okay, cool.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
And just for reference point here, Rotten Tomatoes had it
at sixty six percent audience at seventy two, so critics
don't like that much. The second thing I'll do, and
I was, I want to do the list of cameos
the next The second one thing I'll just say is
it's just kind of about twenty minutes off that thing.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
What about twenty minutes to the cameos. We had to
get the cameos.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
There are some bad bunny parts that I was like, yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
I have now all of the surprising people who showed
up in this movie because it's really overwhelming, and we'll.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Do that next.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Ah.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Yes, since the world famous Ben and Skin show. We
got an audio bubble bath coming your way. We got
some sports, the Rangers are on fire. We even have
a love shack. Did you know that there's an app
where women are talking about dudes behind their backs? All
that's coming your way next, but right now is part
two of Kat's magical review of Happy Gilmour Too.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Okay, so I want to talk about and again I'm
not gonna say spoiler alert.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
It's you can go watch it if you want.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
But the amount of cameos in this movie, it's kind
of it's it's just it's so much. It never stops.
It's a it's consistent. There's als a little bit of
this movie. It was like written for golf fans. So
you're gonna get a lot of lines from people like
Scotty Cheffler here here in Dallas in the movie, in
order of appearance, here's your cameos. Steve Buscemi, who's been
(06:06):
in over fifteen Adam Sandler movies. You know, so you
always see him. Steve Bushmi to me is like one
of the greatest actors I've ever seen.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Uh skimmy. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Jackie Sandler, the wife of Adam Sandler, is uh in there?
Speaker 4 (06:21):
Has she ever been in a Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Shows up Yeah the last few years.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Especially like the Hub Halloween's and things like that. You
have seen his wife and kids and stuff.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
And she's hot. Uh oh what Adamson, We've got a
hot woman? Oh cool?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Right.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Ken Jennings, Ye, host of Jeopardy. They do a big
basically they should have my here's another note, find an
Upama and they should have put her in because they
do like a do you know this golfer? Like he's
a Jeopardy clue and they go like happy Goldberg and
wo have been great if a Nuople was there to
go who is Colorado Rocky?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Yeah, it would have been amazing.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Friend of the show, John Daly, yep, our guy.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
He was in it a lot.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
He was in it a lot, like in a lot
of scenes hanging out with Adam Sandler's daughter and stuff like.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Do you know Ben Kelsey Plum?
Speaker 5 (07:10):
Why do I know that name?
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Familiar?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
That is w NBA star who was married to Darren
Waller The tight End Now.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
Oh yeah, Kelsey Plump, She's she's the one who was
like ding up Caitlin Clark really hard.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah yeah, we had a situation on a municipal golf course.
Of three cameos, Eric Andre Okay, Margaret Qually, who is
the daughter of Andy McDowell, the eighties actress. Margaret Qualley's
been a ton of stuff, and then Martin Hurleyhy. He's
one of the guys from Please Don't Destroy but his dad,
(07:47):
Tim Hurleyhey was a writer at SML. Was Adam Sandler's
college roommate. Oh I didn't know that, Okay, and people
are gonna go nobotism, but you know, Martin Hurley's pretty funny.
Dan Patrick is in it again. He host a show
called The Sports Hole, which damn it. That was when
I was like, gosh, yeah, why did I think of that?
Speaker 3 (08:04):
We could have had it. We were in the sports
all those years. We were to the fan.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
We could just change the end of the show to
the sports Hole or made a sports hole like that.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Could the thing that was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
You had female golfers Nelly Corda and Nancy Lopez, Sadie Sandler,
one of Adam Sandler's daughters. You had Ben Stiller, of
course playing his role. Uh you know Ben Steelers in
the first one. Yeah, trouble Me for Warm Blasted shut that.
Oh yeah, Okay, he's back.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
The Hot Ones guy, isn't it.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
A bunch of podcasts were in it, Bobby Lee and
Andrew Santino. They did the Bad Friends podcast. You probably
seen Bobby Lee from Mad TV and Andrew Santino from
the Great fx TV show. Davey that everyone on the
show's definitely seen all of Page Spearnak just worked at
Dick Sporting Goods.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
Okay, I missed this. I must have slept through that.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah, I missed that part of John Yeah, him in there.
Then the golf scene, they have the legends Fred Couple's,
Nick Faldo, Jack Nicholas, Corey, Pavin Lee, Trevino's in there
dropping the lines. And then they had golfers at another table,
Jordan Spieth, Xander Schoffley, Ricky Fowler, Keegan Bradley, Collin Moore,
(09:19):
kwa All in the room. That's a wild scene. Travis
Kelcey is there and Bad Buddy are in that scene
as well.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
It's very crazy. Burne Lundquist, Skin's.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Neighbor who always put ketchup on.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
His flash potatoes look just like and to this day,
to this day, Okay, best golf acting from the movie
will Zalatorus, who lives here in town, playing the role
of the former caddy that that happy, choked out and
happy Gilmore one.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Will zalators has some amazing lines and uh, he's the guy.
He's looking He's like, no, I made it to the tour.
He's got a real chip on his shoulder about it.
It's really good. Rory Bryson, d Schambeau, Scottie Scheffler. A
part of this is kind of weird because you did
have some Lift Tour guys and the storyline this movie
is kind of like a new golf league is threatening
to take over golf.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Okay, so it's.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Kind of weird that those guys are in it and
on the PGA Tour side, but whatever. Kevin Neeland, Rob Schneider,
Marcelo Hernandez shows up, Bobon of course, who's in everything now.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Stephen A.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Smith is in it. Lavelle Crawford ex Tyrone Hewl from
Breaking Bad, Post Malone shows up.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
It doesn't really add much, but he shows up.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
He's just there.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Yeah, there's so much Guy Fieri, Eminem There's so many,
and it just never stops.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
There's that guy, and it just helps. Yeah, I kind
of want to watch it just for that. It helps.
And there's probably a few more that I don't even mentioned.
There you go, oh it's that guy.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Yeah. So Haley Joel lost like one of the main
roles in this thing.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeah, kind of came out at the end.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
But yeah, okay, he's the unknown golfer who's actually winning.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
It was really crazy that he was the guy who's that.
It's just very strange.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
Okay. So I when I when I go back and
rewatch this, do you think I like it?
Speaker 3 (11:15):
I don't know. I don't know. I want I did
not like the last twenty minutes. I want to like.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
It so bad, Like I hate that what I saw
I wasn't crazy about. Yeah, but I didn't watch it
in the right frame of mind.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
It's just what's the plot line?
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Just real quick?
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Well, the plot line is so happy it is, Uh,
he's given up golf. How it's spoiled too much. Julie
Bowen of Modern Families in it. So basically I will
spoil it. But he kills his wife on accident. She's
watching a golf tournament and he hits her with a
with a t shot that had gone awry, hits her
in the head. She's in the gallery and he's like,
(11:53):
I'm not picking up my golf balls. I'm not picking
up golf ever again. But he has lost and his
kids are kind of supporting him because he's drunk and
all this stuff. And the idea is John Day tells him, heyman,
you got to get back in golf, and he gets
back in golf, and then there's ninety storylines? Is what's
weird about it? Yeah, it's so confusing. This movie is
very weird, but it's fun fun. I want to give
(12:15):
it another shot. Yeah, I want to give it another shot.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
It shill fall asleep this time.
Speaker 5 (12:18):
Yeah, I won't fall a sleep. Yeah that's on me
and not the movie. What happens all right? Coming up next?
Coming up next? Does a huge celebrity have a fake wife?
The investigation is next
