Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, you are listening to the Ben and Skin
show coming up momentarily. Dog Reynolds are soaring and what
is a Frankenstein Rabbit? I cannot wait to talk about this.
It's ten minutes away. Don't go anywhere, but right now
it's time for this juicy news. Hot gods. Every come,
stay on top in the woot shovel. All right. Apparently
(00:27):
Denzel Washington has a new movie out called Highest to
Lowest and maybe it's not out yet, maybe it's coming
out soon, but he's doing some promotional stuff for it.
And he happened to buy the ESPN First Take Studio
and that's Stephen A.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Smith, right, ye, yeah, yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
He stops by to talk to those guys, and man,
I guess I had forgotten that Denzel Washington was a
cowboy fan. Did we know that?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
We did because we were at camp Remember he went
there with his son. That's when his son was was
that show called Playmakers or something?
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Yeah, his son was on that, that's right, his son
forgetting Yes, yes, yes, his son was a receiver on
the Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
And so they were there when we were there at Campoin.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
I did know that. Okay, So Denzel is a big
celebrity cowboy fan, so he's on first take, and we
won't make you watch or listen to first take, but
we will look surgically carve out what you need to hear.
I mean, if one of the biggest celebrities in the
world is taking a shot at Jerry Jones, imagine you
want to hear that. So let's take a listen.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
I don't like what Dallas is doing. I know they're
making a lot of money, and I'm happy for the owner,
but the fans ain't happy. I've been a fan. I
grew up in my running uptown.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Money earning the Red Raiders.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
We were the Red Raiders in the sixties. I was
running back and we used to shift like the Cowboy Landry.
So I said, oh, the cowboys.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Played like us.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
I've been a cowboy fan since the sixties. He's making
it hard for me not to be a fan because
I'm still a cowboy fan. I still want to have
to stall on the side of the hat. But he
ain't thinking about us. He's thinking about his pocket. There's
box office and there's Oscars. Jerry been a while, I
ain't been to the show. You wouldn't know, Oh wouldn't
(02:14):
been to the show. You wouldn't know. Uh, oh hadn't
been to the show, so you wouldn't know what it
is to win. And I love the Cowboys because I
really love them. This is the way I feel the way.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
I feel, O man. I mean, I think if Jerry
was there, he'd say, did you like those three Super Bowls?
I bet you did. I bet you did very much
thirty years ago.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
But I love the way Denzel put it because he's like,
there's the box office and then there's oscars.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I saw their new team valuations twelve point five billion. Wow,
so continues to skyrock.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Sure, the Dodger or the Lakers getting sold probably inflated that,
but dude, they would sell for more than twelve five absolutely.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah. But it's like that's the box office. Yeah, you're
making money. Yeah, it doesn't mean you're making good movies
or doesn't mean you're playing good football.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
And not getting the hardware.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
The oscars is what proves you're doing a good job
and you get at your craft, and you know, and
I thought that was pretty cool. And you just don't
expect to see that as you're I don't know, flipping
around social media and Denzel Washington suddenly echoing exactly how
you feel about Jerry Jones.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
And yeah, it's great. And I bet Spike Lee was
sitting on set going, man, f the oscars. They screw
me every time. Yeah, so that is he'd also said
the weird thing where he was like, I'm happy for
him that he's making money. Do people really care that
the owners are making money?
Speaker 3 (03:33):
No?
Speaker 2 (03:34):
I mean maybe another rich person's like, look at that
rich person. But the fans just want to feel good
about their time investment, and then, in the case of
a lot of people, their financial investment the form of
season tickets and merchandise and all that stuff. And it's
just it is a very unequitable relationship right now between
Dallas Cowboys fans and the ownership group.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
And you don't think they care, do you? No, not
at all. I mean it's not that they don't want
to win, but they're like, we can't. We appreciate your concern,
of course we do, but we're counting all these hundred
dollars bills.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yeah, I put it to you like this. I don't
think they want their fan base to be unhappy. I mean,
I think they care about it, but not to the
extent that they're going to change anything that they were
doing to satisfy their fans. I mean, how many people
are still paying how much for a ticket right every Sunday?
And that's the team lose and that's ultimately their point.
They're like, we're the best thing ever man lead all
(04:29):
the money we're making, so we don't need to change
a damn thing.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Well. I already love Denzel, but now these taking shots
at Jerry, I love them even more. Yeah, all right,
coming up next in just over three minutes. Dog rentals
are soaring, and what is a Frankenstein Rabbit
