For me, I think more people are having small talk
that begins with can you believe how much I spent
on this yesterday?

Just the affordability of things, right, And so I have
a fun new thing I like to do every single
day where I come in here and I go, all right, guys,
Today at lunch, I got a medium sandwich, a bag
of chips, and a Coca cola? How much did I
spend at counter sandwich shop? I'm not gonna get you know,

a counter sandwich shop, A medium sandwich, a bag of chips,
and a coca cola?

How much did a medium? What size was the coca cola?

I think that would probably be sixteen fluid ounces?

In one of those plastic bobbles.

Yeah, These, I'll just say it. These are nacho cheese dirt.
And is that a bowl of soup. That's the aus
sauce that came with the French dip French dips?

So you got it up charge for that that sauce?
For sure, I'm gonna say eleven ninety nine.

I think closer to the middle there around fifteen fifty

just a little bit lower, twenty forty nine, twenty forty two.

So I wasn't too far off. I just want you
guys to soak that in. That's wild.

I got a medium sandwich. You didn't have to get
like a real nice sandwich, though, you got a luxury sandwich.
You get a luxury sandwich. Okay, how much up charge
should there be on? But here's what I want to
go back to.

No but a year ago, No like three months ago.
This has been astronomical in the last few months. It
is all finally starting. There is no way that if
I had told you six months ago, hey, lunch for
one person at a counter sandwich shop is going to
cost you over twenty bucks, you would be like no way.

You would be like no way. This has happened fast.

Two years ago, I would have thought eleven ninety nine
was too much. You used to not even that long
ago post pandemic be able to just drive through a
Windy's and get a value meal for six dollars and
seventy nine cents.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
It's ten bucks. Now, we're not.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Far removed from five dollars foot long. We're not That
was not that long ago. That was not a campaign
from the early two thousands, like this is a kind
of a recent campaign.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
It is bananas twenty dollars and forty two cents for
one person's lunch.

But gas?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
How much this gap? We got that? Okay? You so
do you guys look at the pump? No, no, I
look at this.

I just know mine stops at like thirty when it's full. Okay.

I don't look at the price of gas because the
price of gas is not going to change whether or
not I put gas in my car. So I'm I'm
the person that never knows how much gas costs. I
pull up to the pump, I put the thing in,
I slide my card, I go about my business, and
I drive off.

That's the thing that people have under they've misrepresented to
us growing up. At least I remember like occasionally my
dad doing this, like drive to the cheaper one, like
just a little further right, but like when you really
do the math on it, if you're putting twenty gallons
of gas in your car, but you're saving like five
cents here, you're like talking about saving a dollar total.
You're not even talking about saving that much money. And
(04:45):
I don't want to do like a lot of math
on the air. It turned into an inside the NBA
shack thing. But it's like the price of gas, Like
the price of gas being two thirty and two ninety
is really not that much. It's more than it's less
than what we've thought it was over all these years.
We used to think it was like it's five to
ten dollars difference. It's not that much, is it?

Is it diesel? That's the big deal though, Like doesn't
is it diesel? More expensive? Premium? If you want to
know you go super premium.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
I don't do that.

I just get the regular unleaded.

You know someone in your life that's getting the super
premium gasoline, you need to check them because like why it.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Depends on your car. Yeah, certain cars, you really do need.

You got a fancy car, you need the premium?
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah, if you dog, I'm driving a Ford unleaded, it's
just fine, regular unleaded in my forward, everything's fine. My
wife got one of them fancy foreign cars. You gotta
put that premium up in there.

Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
You don't, you'll have problems. Yeah, and then it'll cost
you more in the long run. So when does this
get fixed? One? Five to three Tell the general what
needs to happen to fix the economy?
