Speaker 1 (00:00):
Happy hump Day, everybody.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Christina's cookie Jars coming up momentarily, why Peta is coming after?
Alison Chains will go around the Amazon coming up at
four o'clock, and then we'll talk a little sports at
four point fifteen.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
But right now it's time for this the stick, the
Giant Jigle. The moon fell right.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
So when I went to Los Angeles, I was able
to download a movie and watch it on the plane,
which is the best way to go because it just
makes the flight fly on by.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
This is a two hour movie.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
It's called Bougonia, and it's a movie that Kat highly recommended.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
And all you told me and.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Told us is that it was a weird movie and
it absolutely delivered every bit of that. Let me just
say one thing that he told me that impacted me
going in, And he wasn't the only one. There was
another person that told me that's going in, I think
it's as good as one battle after So I was
taking that knowledge.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
It wasn't just Kat, it was KT.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
But I'll tell you I did not like it as
much as one battle after another. But I said, it's
very close. You said very close, and so did this
other person. So I went into the movie with that
thought in my brain.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, I think the way you said it, if I recall,
or the way it impacted me with what you were
saying was that there would be oscar buzz that might
be more significant from this movie or might threaten.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yes, Leo and everything absolutely anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Plot follows bee keepers, Teddy and his cousin Don Jesse
Plemons plays Teddy, and they kidnap a pharmaceutical CEO played
by Emma Stone because they believe she is an alien
secretly trying.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
To destroy humanity.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
And so I don't want to go too deep down
the rabbit hole because I don't want to give up
too much of it.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
But it's basically phenomenal acting.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
By both Plemmons and Stone, and I I did love
the movie. I didn't enjoy the ending quite as much
as the beginning, but it's really well done and it's
a good m night Shyamalan curveball thrown there, and definitely
the acting is stellar. But I didn't like it near
as much as one battle after another. What do you

(02:17):
want to say about it, Kevin?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
I do agree with you that we did not need
the last five minutes of this movie. That just five
though the last scene. Okay, the last reveal did not
need to happen in my opinion, but it's people have
liked that part of it. It's it takes it. It
takes it to a completely different sphere of what you're watching.

(02:41):
Like it's literally like ninety five percent of the movie
is one way, and there are some subtle hints as
to what they're going to do, but when they do
what they do, it's a completely different viewing experience. I
would say it's a one to eighty and it's not
like who done it kind of thing. It's just like, oh,

(03:03):
this is a completely different film than what I was
thinking I was watching.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I still never.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Felt like I knew what was going to happen, which
I do appreciate that and you'd have like little ideas,
but I never was sure about what was going to happen.
And I will just say this about anything. If you're
going to give me a movie it's two hours, and
I never get bored.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Hell yeah, oh yeah, that's fair. Whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I mean, I'm heart stumping every scene.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Who's never boring, That's fair.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I did never get bored, but I did know exactly
what was going to happen. I was. I was still
a little bit surprised when it did happen, but I
felt like that was the direction that it was all funneling.
It reminded me in a way of the substance with
Demi Moore right now, whereas it's just wild af and
so out there that you can't predict exactly you know

(03:50):
what's going to happen, but you can tell it's something
weird's coming.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
But it was good.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
It was definitely worth the price of buying it for
my flight. It's just I don't think it's anywhere near
or you know, the DiCaprio movie.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
There's a thing that they talk about in you know,
media studies where they talk about there's deconstruction, and when
deconstruction happens, a lot of times it happens for what
they call reinscription. So in other words, here's a movie
of a like a Western, I'm gonna have I'm gonna
break down the Western and what it means, and then

(04:22):
at the end of it, I'm ultimately going to reinforce
everything that is the Western. That's what a deconstruction is.
They show you all the parts, show you why they work,
and then they reinscribe it to you. This is why
you like Westerns. This happened?

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (04:35):
There is ultimately like, when you're watching this movie, you're thinking, okay,
or at least I was thinking. This is a very
crafty commentary on internet conspiracy culture and how it affects people,
you know, much in the way Summer of Sam is
about the climate of fear. This is about the climate
of of being isolated and buying into conspiracies on the

(04:57):
Internet when you're by yourself, and then they do something
that totally reinforces the idea of why people do that
and what it means to them, and it's like, okay,
so what is your reason for making this movie?

Speaker 1 (05:08):
That was wild?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
But it is incredibly entertaining, and you're right.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
The acting is.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Phenomenal, the acting, and I yeah, you could see either
either one of them getting some big time award for it.
Even both, Yeah, maybe both I wouldn't be fantastic. We
highly recommend it. Kat still undefeated in pop culture recommendations.
Begonia gets the job done. Christina, we are you gonna
take us in the cookie jar?

Speaker 1 (05:33):
I have another rock war for you guys. This sign
that it's pet versus Alison Chain's next,
