Speaker 1 (00:00):
Cowboy surprise.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Housekeeping before we get to the meet here. Uh, they
are back in business after the bye week. You have
to go away for a little bit. It's been a
very eventful bye week.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
I know Brian Schottenheimer met with the media for the
first time. I was holding that tears apparently talking about
Marsha Neelan and all that stuff. Uh So that's been tough.
The players have been posting, you know, things in the
locker room, put flowers by his locker room, by his
locker and all that stuff. They had like a vigil
last night. I can tell you that the Cowboys are

(00:48):
expected to have de Marvian Overshown and third round pick
Savon Revel available Monday night. Now. I talked to my
guy John Michouda over at the Athletic last night, and
he said he wouldn't be surprised if they held Revel
out because maybe not ready I was gonna ask you
about him. At least they're both like active and back in.

(01:10):
So it looks like overshowing his back Monday night. So,
because that's another thing I keep forgetting about. That was
a high draft pick that's been heard his entire life.
But he's got a lot of talent. I keep forgetting
he's on the roster because we haven't seen him.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Yeah, yeah, and again it's kind of it's kind of
like Anthony Davis. It's hard to plan on him. But
when he's out there and he's healthy, he is special.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
We have Joseph Hoyt from the Dallas Morning News here
and he wrote a little article called five questions the
Cowboys still need to answer? Number one, Can Quinn Williams
be the answer to the question that is, why is
the defense so bad? I think there's a lot on
Maddy Riffleus here during a week where it sucks you

(01:56):
just lost a player too that you knew very well.
I would imagine on being an defensive coach, But there
is a lot on him and how they finished this
and moving guys around. I don't think Kenny Clark is
gonna be here next year, although he could be. Quin
Williams is great, He's really good. I don't think he's
worth the same draft inventory. Basically, I think it's gonna
end up for like what you got from Micah.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
So that's my problem with it. But Quentin Williams is
really good, so is it the answer?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:23):
They're not gonna I don't think he's the answer.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I think he's part of the answer because they need
Overshown and Malie Cooker and Donovan Wilson as much as
we you know.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
Crap on him. So who comes off the bench of
those three guys, this.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
Is where I think they can all be out there once.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Yeah, And well you're talking about switching to a three
to four, yeah, or just playing like.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
A massive overhaul or good season.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Or just doing considered a four two five and bringing
one of the linebackers down and just kind of I mean,
there's there's ways to do this, but they were messing
around with five man fronts a little earlier in the year,
So Clowney and Azeraku and then you have clark Osa
and Quinn Williams in there. Yeah, and if they want
to utilize that, and Clowney could probably play some inside

(03:08):
too if you needed to. So so it's good. It's
a fair question.

Speaker 6 (03:13):
Yeah, I just put the best guys out there and
hit the gaps.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Doesn't feel like the next question is like what about
the reinforcements, And that's we talked about that with Ravel
and Overshown, But the other one is Logan Wilson, who
now is most known for having a podcast with his wife,
and she said he's a great linebacker.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
I don't think special teams guy Kevin.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I've been told, not know if this is true, but
that Eberfluce's favorite linebacker on the squad is Kenneth Murray.
Oh so it's like, is Logan Wilson who plays Kenneth
Murray's position? Is that?

Speaker 5 (03:44):
And does he immediately start here? Is he still did
he ask for a trade to still be on the
bench here?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
I thought his favorite linebacker was that white boy from
Chicago that he brought with him.

Speaker 6 (03:52):
They got hurt Sandborn? Yes, yeah, yeah, Well is he
coming back?

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I'll come back at some point, right, I don't know.
I don't even know what they injury is. Can Javonte
Williams sustain? I think it's a fair question.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
All right, Well, he's he's looked really good. He looks
like he's recaptured his old form. And I don't see
why not. I don't see him slowing down. I don't
see anything from him that makes me think he's tapering off.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
He's been doing acupuncture. City Lamb told him the acupuncture
is a good, good thing. To do Christina acupuncture. She does,
and that's where you put the needles in your body,
right that feel? How does that help you?

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Dude?

Speaker 6 (04:42):
Don't question ancient Asian medicine does stop bloating like, what's
the what's the let's the air out?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, inflammation goes out, goes away, put all the needles
in and then he just.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Number three, I've lost what count we are? Oh? How
will the end of this season dictate next season? I
think Matt Eberfluis is coaching for his job, even though
Jerry said multiple times he does not want to make
a change a defensive coordinator.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
I don't know how.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
You you either have to make a change at defensive
coordinator to fit your talent or you have to change
your talent to fit the defensive coordinator. It seems like
changing the coach would be easier than changing all the players.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I don't know, man, I don't. I don't think that
this was an Eberflus problem. I mean that there are
people that are starting games for the Cowboys that we
had not heard of. They didn't have enough talent and
then they got injured. Like don't I don't Matt Eberflus
has a reputation of being a very good defensive coordinator.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
The one thing that I would criticize Josef Hoyd about
on this article quickly is that one of the questions
should have been what really happened to Treyvon Diggs?

Speaker 5 (05:55):
How do we not know?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Right?

Speaker 2 (05:57):
It drives me crazy, yep, how do we know know?
There you go, good job, ken.

Speaker 6 (06:02):
Right, those are questions, Thank you, Joseph Hoyt.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Coming up next in the weekly weekday update, why you
can't let interns get a hold of your social media account.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
That's next.

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
