Join Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray as they spiral from a heartfelt teacher appreciation shoutout into a full-blown brainstorm about turning a historic Dallas landmark into a listener-powered cinematic event. The crew dives into the legendary Texas Theater—the infamous hideout of Lee Harvey Oswald—and its upcoming screening of Jaws, which Ben declares “the best film ever made.” But will his kids be too scared to enjoy it? Or will the outdated special effects make it safe for the next generation?Meanwhile, KT and Krystina pitch a full-on “Bucky Cheese” experience—part Chuck E. Cheese, part Buc-ee’s, part fever dream—complete with a life-size gopher rat mascot. (“Hello, investors!”)

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Another edition of.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Man you know what place is so badass? And I'm
so happy every time I go there. I was there
on Monday. BUCkies is Bucky Cheese. Bucky Cheese is a
combination of a gas station with a mascot. And now
it's an adventure land all right, Hello investors, Bucky cheese.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
It's a gopher. It's a gopher rat.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
This is there's something to tuck away, so it's an armadillo.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Ok. What code did she crack? We have kept this off? Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:41):
No, I'm maybe changing the direction of the segment.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
No, okay, uh? And that is uh.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
It's over there near where Christina Ray spends a lot
of her time. It's the Texas Theater down there on
Jefferson and Oak Cliff, and it's a legendary theater primarily
because that's where Lee Harvey Oswald hid after he shot
the president and then they went and drugged his ass
out of there. But anyways, I don't know how long ago,

(02:09):
but a guy that I went to college with that
was in my film classes, he bought into it. So
they run it and it's I'm sure it's considered a
historical building and all those kinds of things, but it
is a really badass place. And I don't know what
year it was built, but it's got all these weird, unique,
cool little cubby hole spaces everywhere around it.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
That's why he went to hide there. Yeah, No, I
think he just went in the theater though, right.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Yeah, that seat is still marked, I believe.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
When I was there Monday, the JFK tour bus pulled
up outside. Oh and I was like, how often does
this thing drive by?

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Quite a bit?

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Does it really? So you see it all the time?

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Parts by my house like all the time.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
But they do have some first run stuff, like some
bigger productions, like what's the name of the movie that's
got Alison Brie and her husband been one of the
Francos together. That's screening, Yeah, Dave Franco, that's screening there tonight.
And I really want to see this. I just don't
know if I have time to go trooping down note Cliff.

(03:10):
But they have the Jeff Buckley documentary. Oh yeah, and
they've been. That's been and I think they're showing it
some next week too. But Ben, one of the things
that a place like this will do is they'll do
what they call repertory screening, so like classic films like
oh uh, last week or two weeks ago, they had
Francis Ford Coppola, the filmmaker there, and he spoke. So

(03:32):
they'll do special screenings. You know that movie The Room
that they made the James Franco made.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
A movie about. Oh, I love that movie. That they're
doing a screening of that.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
And that guy Greg's sister area where was going to
be the actual actor?

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
The real one?

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I thought he like disappeared. Well, maybe it's the idea.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I did not hit her. I did not. It may
be the other guy that he took on the wild Ride.
Maybe that's the guy that's gonna be.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
That's a good movie.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
But I mean that's kind of something I'd like to
go see.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
Just a spinal tap there. Oh yeah, I think that
would be badass. But Ben, what is your old time
favorite movie? Probably Shawshank Redemption or Roadhouse?

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Okay, there's another one that you say quite often, or
or it's Get Me to Utah, get Me to point
break point break. Have you ever seen Jaws in a theater?

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Oh? Jaws is my favorite movie. I thought it was.
I think it's the best film ever made. I've never
seen it in a theater.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
August twenty eighth, and twenty ninth Jaws at the Texas Theater.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Write that down?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Do we?

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Twenty eighth and twenty ninth?

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Do we need to do? You're writing it on a
piece of paper you'll never see again. I'm gonna, I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
I'm like, Man, I really want my kids to enjoy
this movie because it's something I care about so much.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
But I also don't want to ruin water for them. Yeah,
or would they not be scared of it?

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I don't think they'd be scared of Jaws is so
silly looking now, you know, it's like the special fact.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
It's still an incredible movie. But in the theater right.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
RIGHTNNDDDD dot dot I'm bleeding.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
I don't think that's a line. Wait, what line is that?
Which character said that?

Speaker 4 (05:18):
I hear it?

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Okay, one of the ladies. All right, what if we
did this that attracted the shark?

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (05:25):
What if we sponsored this showing at the Texas Theater,
got our listeners out there and had an appearance from
a gopher rat We had to go for a life
size go for like a human sized gophers.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Bucky Cheese, man, I would love it.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
We let's buy the whole house let's take every ticket
and fill it up with our people.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
I can't what is that? What days are those? Twentieth
and twenty Christina? Oh, okay, Kat's on it.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
Let's go Thursday, Friday.

Speaker 3 (05:52):

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Okay, let's go or Tuesday and Wednesday night, twenty ninth Thursday, they're.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Saying credit coming up next.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
KT is going to look at a calendar and we'll
give you an update on when the twenty eighth and
twenty ninth are. Also, we're going to have the Hollywood
Shuffle because there is a new prank that a celebrity is.

Speaker 3 (06:11):

details next
