"What even is a Patronus—some kind of magical rubber?"That hilariously off-base question from Jeff “Skin” Wade sets the tone for a whimsical and laugh-filled journey into the heart of Hogwarts, as Krystina “K-Ray” Ray opens up her Cookie Jar to share her immersive visit to the brand-new Harry Potter: The Exhibition in Dallas.Joined by Ben Rogers, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Skin, the crew dives into the cultural phenomenon that is Harry Potter—from growing up with the books to navigating wand choices and Quidditch mini-games.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Last Time, the Pop the Top, Crazier and from Christina's
Cooky Jar, Christine Job, Christine has.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
So. About a month ago, I believe I saw a
giant billboard for Harry Potter the exhibition coming to Dallas October,
I think twenty fourth whatever.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
It's here now.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
And as soon as I saw that billboard, I looked
at Mike and I said, Man, we're gonna have to
go to this. I hope you're aware. And sure enough,
last week we got an invite for like a media
media invite to come check it out before it was
open to everyone else, and I immediately emailed them back.
I was like, yes, me plus one please, And so
I got to go check it out over the weekend.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yes, Skin, I have a question about this shooting people
that are yours and KT's age read the books. Yes,
people that are mine and Ben's age and a little
bit closer to your boyfriend's age. If they did get
into it, probably just saw the movies, or in the
case of me, I've never seen a second of any
of it. Has Siroy seen the movies and does he

(01:20):
care about it in the movies?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
And I wouldn't say he's I mean, I'm not even
a diehard fan. He's definitely not either, but we enjoy
it like it's a cool storyline. It's very well done.
And I was thinking about it this morning. You mentioned
we grew up with the books. I don't know if
there's any other, like any other generation that has books
come out. Harry Potter was our age. Yeah, when those
books came out, and they progressively came out every year,

(01:44):
So we literally grew up with Harry Potter and these characters.
And I don't know if anyone else has experienced that,
but that's why we are so drawn to Harry Potter
because he is our friend that we grew up with.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
I know people who, yeah, who loved it. I never
got into it.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
I had all the girls and junior high.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Oh yeah, it's that cultural phenomena, right.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
We would wait in line for those books to come out.
It was really nerdy but really cool.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Anyway, So again I'm not a huge fan, but I
will say that, like I just said, when I saw
the Billboard, I was excited, excited about it. I went
to the Universal Studios thing that was really really cool.
But I'm not gonna nail a Harry Potter trivia Knight.
Uh So, the main like theme of this exhibition is
they give you this little wristband when you first get there.

(02:31):
You walk in, you get to choose your house, you
get to choose your wand and you get to choose
your Patrona's okay.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Hell yeah. And then it's a dirty word, your euro center.
Maybe it's your like protector.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Basically it's your protection spell okay, and rubber sure like
a rubber And so this thing is very well done.
It's you feel like you are walking through hogwas and
they have different rooms set up in each In each
of these rooms, there's these little mini games where you

(03:06):
can use your wristband and play these minigames and you're
basically earning points for your house. And then at the
end you can see how many points each house has.
And I naturally, I was like, man, how hard are
these mini games? Am I gonna do well at them?
These minigames are really for kids, Like, they are not
hard at all?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
And then besides that, there's also all of this memorabilia
set up, like from the movies that you can see
and they have all these plaques buy them and you
can read them. You can they tell you about behind
the scenes stuff with all of that memorabilia, it's really cool. Again,
so if you are a diehard Harry Potter fan, you
are going to love this. There's also all types of

(03:48):
photo opportunities that look really good on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Cool.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I saw you post something I did, and I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Post a bigger video probably today if I have time,
just kind of recapping the full experience, because the rooms
are just insane, like you are fully immersed. You feel
like you are in the Hogwarts Castle. They even have
the whole the cafeteria with the floating candles.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
I've seen that scene.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
They have that in there, and they have Hagrid's Haggard's
Little Hut, which is actually the creepiest part in my opinion,
because you feel like you're out in the woods and
it's just kind of it's creepy, and you can sit
in his giant chair. Uh so it's in it's kind
of in a shopping center. I wrote it down Preston, Yeah,
Pepper Square, Preston Road, so not far.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
From here, you know, Ben, If you don't strap on
a patronis you'll get Hogwarts. Yeah, you need one. Did
you get to throw apples at that thing. Did you
get to throw apples?

Speaker 2 (04:42):
So that was quidditch you're talking about quidditch? Yeah, apple,
they kind of do. They're they're about like kickball sized balls,
and I I did. I didn't do very very good
at it, but it was fun. Yeah, Mike and I
stay there for a while, just trying to get them
all all in one go. But yeah, no, I I
highly recommend. I had a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
I don't know anything about Harry Potter, and I would
go it sounds like fun, sounds like a lot of fun. Yeah,
it sounds experiential.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Yeah, that's what people are looking for.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Harry Potter exhibition.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Right.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Has anybody been over to the Netflix store?

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Not yet?

Speaker 4 (05:15):
It's the same idea, right is it? Just that's what
you just describe. Sounds way better than what I've heard
about the Netflix store. But it's the same experiential type thing, right.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
I can't go because it's directly across the street, so
I just haven't had a chance.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Yete All Right, There you have it, Christina's Cookie Jar.
It's always awesome. Coming up next in the Hollywood Shuffle,
the top twenty five TV performances since the year two
thousand we crushed that list.
