Speaker 1 (00:00):
So last night, Kyrie Irving did a big long live stream.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I think it was like five plus hours long. The hell.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
So he was just kind of going on and he's
kind of talking about his injury and then moving forward
and things like that. After watching it, I felt much
better about the future of the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
How much did you watch about twenty minutes? Oh oh yeah,
I thought you watched five hours of it. How do
you know what the best parts are?

Speaker 1 (00:24):
You get people to kind of aggregate stuff for it.
And Jeb this is the free throws after he towards
ACL This is what he's coming on now, And it
makes me go, why in the hell did Jason Kidd
make him shoot these free throws?

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Because it doesn't sound like he wanted to.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
It was so tough to go to that free throw line. Man,
you guys about to make me all get all emotional
stuff talking about this stuff again. But going to that
free throw line again was like it was one of
the toughest things that I did. I didn't feel like
me up there, but I was about to head out
to the court and then you know, the rest were
like or no, my j Kidd and few of my
teammates like, yo, you gotta shoot the free throws, and
instantly my mind shifted into I gotta make these free throws.

(01:01):
I was about to walk off the court and they're like,
you gotta shoot your free throws. My mind snapped right
back into WAD two. By the way, w Anthony Davis
Bro for helping me off the court. In my security
BRO shout out to ad Bro. He was like talking
me through it the whole time, like, Yo, take time,
take you time. But when I had to go shoot
my free throws and he was carrying me to the
free throw line, I snapped back into it. I was like, yo,
I cannot miss these free throws. I cannot miss these

(01:22):
free throws. At the free throw line, I'm thinking, like
I just up my knee. I'm tearing up at the
free throw line, and I could just sense my body
was it was in shock.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
He didn't have to shoot the free throws, right, Okay, Well,
they didn't know how severe it was, and if he
just left, he couldn't come back in the game.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
So they were hoping it was that was just hoping
it wasn't.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Bad, right, Yeah, I guess, I mean, yeah, that is
the logic Ben is that I actually think and I
don't know this hearing that, I bet those guys are like, Kyrie,
you're gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Want to be remembered for this. Okay, that's my guess.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
But Ben's right like, if he does not shoot the
free throws and he leaves the game, he's not eligible
to come back. But I think they all knew ya.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
You know, hey man, Now this is part a part
where he's basically saying, you know, there's a lot of
fodder out there about Look, he's played so many minutes
since they traded Luca, And he's basically saying, do not
blame Jason Kidd for my injury.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yes, even after I got injured, certain media members were
coming out trying to blame j Kidd or blame the
Dallas Mavericks because I was playing a lot of minutes.
I'm telling you right now, right if you ask ninety
five percent of the league, there's another five percent that
don't really care what they played. Do you ask ninety
five percent of the league if they'd rather be playing
fifteen minutes or thirty five minutes tonight? I guarantee you
ninety five percent and would say thirty five minutes I

(02:37):
led the league in minutes. So what like you guys
are blaming other people. I played professional sports, Like my
job is to be conditioned at a very high level.
I had to step on Valanchouna's foot for me to
be off balance, for me to get injured. I didn't
get injured like fatigue. I didn't have a fatigue injury.
I take great care of my body. You gotta really

(02:58):
understand what they try to do. I agree with all
that wholeheartedly.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
I think there is a discussion out there about wear
and tear, But this was an injury that was caused
by stepping on a foot and then it caused another jolt.
Like I just there, you know we're talking. I mean,
if we're talking about an achilles injury or soft tissue injury,
I get it.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
This is a structural me thing.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Okay, after we put the barrel straight down Sanchito's throat,
I'm gonna tell you why I felt better about the
future of the Mavericks and building this thing round. Kyrie, eh,
I forgot Luca existed for a minute.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Whoa in a minute
