“How hard is it to just line up on sides?”
That’s the question that sets the tone for this fiery, funny, and brutally honest episode of The Ben and Skin Show, where Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray go full throttle on the Cowboys’ latest meltdown.Cowboys Carnage: The crew breaks down the 44–24 loss to Denver, highlighting how three pre-snap penalties in the first six minutes derailed the entire game. From offside disasters to missed red zone opportunities, the Cowboys’ defense is described as “the Titanic… already at the bottom of the ocean decaying.”National Loose Ends Day: While the NFL celebrated National Tight Ends Day, the Cowboys apparently celebrated “National Loose Ends Day.” KT’s joke lands hard and fast: “There were a lot of parts they could tighten up.”

All right, let's get into the Cowboys debacle from yesterday
as they lost forty four to twenty four. And we've
talked about this many times on the show.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
As we talk.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
About Cowboys, they have a great offense and a horrific defense,
and the defense those issues were exacerbated by the fact
that all of their mediocre defensive players were also injured.
So then we had a complete no name defense out
there with guys we had never heard of in etc.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
And etc.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Having said all that, do you know how different that
game is if they don't have those three pre snat
penalties In the first like six minutes of the game,
James Houston kills them. He's lined up off sides in
the neutral zone on a third down.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
That they would have gone off the field and it
ends up cost them seven points.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
You're how hard is it to just line up on sides?

Speaker 1 (01:11):
That is the thing that drives me the craziest in
football is a guy's head just being three inches over
the line like that drives me the most nuts. But
I want you to think about this, and I know
it sounds ridiculous when you lose forty four to twenty
four to go in on this, but this is what
the Cowboys are and games have different feels to them
in momentum. If they don't have the false start down

(01:33):
there in the red zone after getting the interception, and
they do punch it in and go up seven to
nothing and then get the three and out and they're
not their helmet is not lining three inches over, then
not only are they getting the ball up seven to nothing,
probably decent field position, but they're gonna get the ball
to start the half, and then Denver has to change
their entire game plan. But because they couldn't be disciplined,

(01:55):
you blink, And let me just say tell you guys,
just so you know, I watched the Cowwboy game last
night cause I had mad stuff and I didn't get
to watch it in real time, So as I'm walking
into the building at the AAC. It's thirty to seventeen. Okay,
so late third quarter. Yeah, and so I'm like, oh
my god, Cowboys got destroyed. Maybe I'll watch the game tomorrow.

(02:16):
I don't know, but I got into late last night.
I turned it on and I'm like, wait a minute.
They started with an interception and then got down inside
the five. God, things are about to go crazy for
the game to have started this way. And then suddenly
I'm waiting to figure out how it gets to thirty
to seventeen. And so with this bad as the Cowboys

(02:37):
defense is, they simply can't afford just simple things like
pre snap penalties.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
No, and they Bo Nicks had four touchdown passes. JK.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Dobbins had one hundred and eleven yards on just fifteen carries.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
They got shreded.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
We just shredded. They suck on defense. They're great on office.
They suck on there straight up jackal hide.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
And the offense is having to do this thing now
where they get kind of holes poked in them because
people were like, well, the defense is already the Titanic,
so we don't really Yeah, what else can we say
about them? They're at the bottom of the ocean decaying.
So like the offense is like, oh, they gotta be perfect. Yeah, yeah,
they kind of do. And we're gonna be a little
critical that I have one for you in a second.
I do think it's interesting. Yesterday was National tight Ends Day, right,

(03:24):
National tight end Day. The NFL over celebrates it. They
do it all the time. It was a wild move
by the Cowboys to zag when everyone else zigged, and
they went with National loose Ends Day.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
You write that down, I don't. I don't want to
do the show.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Let's do a best of Let's go to Christina. Throw
it to a best of what happened you because there's
a lot of parts that they could tighten up. Okay,
So there was a moment too, while we're on this, uh,
while we're on this, while we're going in on Dak
Prescott and the Cowboys offense here, while we're giving them
what they need to hear and holding them accountable. There's

(04:05):
four minutes left in the first half and the score
at this point is twenty seven to ten.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Pretty it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Yeah, no, no, no, no, I'm sorry, I sorry, it's twenty
to ten. It's twenty to ten. At this point, there's
four minutes left, and this is the way I'm having
to process just the way this team works. Now, it's okay,
four minute drive, Go get points. Whether it's three, whether
it's seven, does not matter. One score game. You get
the ball coming out of the half, okay. And they

(04:41):
got put in a position where there was a third one.
They got nine yards on the first down, and they
got stuffed on second one. Third one get batted down,
so it's fourth and one and they're on their own
like thirty and I'm like, okay, well, the four minute
drive can still happen if you just get the like
you have to get the first down here. It's but
if you kick it back to him, they're probably gonna score.

(05:03):
And I get like, textbook like the way you would
play this is to always punt it there. They can't
do that anymore, and they punt and then Denver scores anyway,
So it's twenty seven to ten, so you're your way
of getting back in. It was there and they didn't
get it, so twenty seven ten. But they get the
ball back and it's like, okay, go get a field goal.
Get to midfield, so make a long kick with your

(05:26):
superhero field goal.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Then it's a two score game and you get the
ball out of the half, well, okay, here, let's go.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
And then Dak rips one up the seam to their
linebacker and I'm like, dude, what you're doing. Know who
your kicker is. You just ruined our seventy yard field
goal attempt. Like for multiple reasons. I was angry at
Dak because twenty seven thirteen and you're getting the ball first.
I can at least project to twenty seven to twenty
even that, Like.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
That's gotta stop. Know what your situation is. And they
just they didn't.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
I just I hear people saying this. I even heard
it after the game. Man, they just gotta go get
a player. They got to go get a disruptor for
that defense. They have to make a trade. They've got
four first round picks in the next couple of years,
go trade for somebody who.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Can save this defense. It's not one player away from
being saved.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
They need probably two linebackers and overshown, two safeties, a corner,
a dominant edge rusher, and maybe a third defensive tackle.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
They might need two corners and maybe another end and
another corner. I'm like, dude, you need an entire defense.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
You don't like all those guys they signed off the
practice squad moving.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Forward, I don't think they like you. Yeah, I think
there is how it's going to go. I don't want
to play in the NFL anymore.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah, I don't understand it.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
There's how can anyone be happy with eberflus their defensive coordinator.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
No sacks, d quarterback hit.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Oh. Today was a day where I went, I don't
know if Matt and I don't know if he matters.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
I know, man, Well, we'll get back.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Let's get back into this later because coming up next
we got to figure out if there's any box office
firepower for the boss, we'll do it right here on
