Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jealous Cowboy. Surprise cow Would you guys like to meet
one of our newest Dallas Cowboys, Logan Wilson, Hey linebacker.

(00:23):
They traded four yesterday morning, gave up a seventh round
pick for him. So here's the situation with the Bengals.
The Bingles are really bad, and they were just like,
we're gonna put you on the bench here, and we're
gonna start looking at some younger guys because their defense
is terrible and they're throwing stuff at the wall the
same way the Cowboys are, honestly, so he becomes available.
He was a third round pick in twenty twenty sixty

(00:45):
fifth pick over all in the draft. Was a linebacker
from the University of Wyoming. His nickname is the Cowboys.
So this all makes sense. So he was doing a
podcast with his wife at the Wilson Family Playbook and
he requested a trade. Okay, he went to the Bengals,
and so I'm not play anymore. I would request the trade,

(01:05):
but he's under contract with the Bengals. He requested a trade.
It's very important that we all know that he wanted out. Okay,
here's cut one of four cuts. I'm gonna play you
from this podcast.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
We feel like we owe that to you guys to
give you an explanation of kind of what's been going on,
because it's been a wild, wild few weeks.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
I mean not to get into like too much detail
everything because some of that diseases are remained private. I
truly planned on retiring as a Cincinnati Bengal.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Kind of went on and went on and on, but
again that was his plans. They're having to uproot their family.
They have kids, they gotta move them. They were gonna,
you know, build their life there in Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
How long has he been with the Bengals?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Uh, twenty twenty so five years?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yeah, was he good or what? Brown?

Speaker 5 (01:53):
Do you know?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Was her third round? Third run? So, and he'd been
pretty good, but all of a sudden he just lost
his gig. He lost's good because the Bengals are just
they're the worst. They're just like the Cowboys in terms
of really the whole roster. But the defense is the
worst in the league, if not the second worst to
the Cowboys. And they had younger guys who they've drafted
the last couple of years and they're running out there at linebacker.

(02:14):
So he's not starting anymore? Is this le know how
long this podcast has been around? This was episode eight.
Oh and this is from before the trade, by the way,
this is this is the episode. They're doing this before
the trade and they are going to comment on the
trade request.

Speaker 6 (02:28):
Is she is she famous in some way that I
should be known who she is?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Or she's just she's a wife. Yep, it's weird that they, oh,
we're just getting started. Actually play that first clip for
full context. Yep. He thought he'd be a Bengal forever,
but they asked for a trade. Honey, I think we
should podcast. I don't think I think it was the
other way around. I think it was, honey, I think
we should podcast. Here is Logan Wilson commenting on the

(02:52):
trade request.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
In terms of the trade request, like, at the end
of the day, I lived my life by face, family
and really in that order, right, and so at the
end of the day, I had to just make a
decision of what's best for our family. Like I'm still
here right now, and that's I'm still gonna do everything

(03:14):
I can to contribute to this team.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
You only have a finite amount of time to.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Play football in this league, and so you have to
take full advantage of it. And I'm obviously not the
starter here anymore. You know, I'm still working every day
in practice. See it better. It's just yeah, I mean
that's kind of is it is what it is at
this point?

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Yeah? Yeah, okay, so faith, family and football. That's what
he loves, oh.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Football, because he had a lot of kids. It sounded
like you said something else which made sense.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
It's too easy to do faith, family and really.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Okay, so again he said he's good, he's not. He's
got a good attitude about it. I got benched, but
still work hard. But ask for the Trenek.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Honestly, isn't that that's kind of the best thing if
you're a football player. You're still getting paid, but you're
not out there hurting your body. Yeah, it's so kind
of you got it made.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
But okay, okay, but I call it the Kyle Orton,
a fair competitive guy wants to play here.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
I'm like fighting back tears right now. I just don't
think people like like understand what goes into something like this.
It's not like we're just like like Logan lost his
starting spot, like we don't want to be here. We
have to pick up our whole family and move. It's

(04:33):
not like you're just like yeah, like take me somewhere else,
like and I think that that's.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Where like the image of the NFL does.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
Just get kind of skewed, of like like our life
is here, Like we brought our first baby home here, like,
I mean, we bought a house here.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
We love being here.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
There's no guarantee that anything happens, but like, yeah, yeah,
and they didn't cut you. Can I I'm not being
a jerk here. No, you literally asked to be traded.
They did not cut you, and you can't stay there.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
But let me also say there's lots of people that
if they really love the community of Cincinnati and they
bought a house there, he doesn't have to live wherever
he goes year round. And the way football season is
and it's already halfway through the seat, I mean, most.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Seasons shorter than people realize.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
I don't think this woman's good at handling adversity, right,
it is. It is tough to uproot your family, though
she probably didn't realize the life she had signed up for, though,
I mean that's kind of comes with the territory.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I mean, I just have to say, you asked for
this though.

Speaker 6 (05:38):
The agent really needs to give them some perspective on
how to operate in this space.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Okay, here's another one.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
I don't want to speak for Logan, but like, you're
a hell of a linebacker and like you just have
so much more to give, and I know that you're
not done yet.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
No.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
I think the one point I just really want to
make is like I don't want people to think that
this was, oh, Logan got Ben and we're just we
need we want out, Like there was a lot more
that went into it than just what meets the eye.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Whatever.

Speaker 6 (06:07):
Sure, so I don't think he'll be a cowboy beyond
this season. What else goes into it besides that that's
exactly what this is. He's five years in right, he
got benched, and he's not done playing, so he wants
to keep competing, and honestly, uh, if he can reclaim
a starting job somewhere, it'd be better for their family
and his career could be prolonged.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Just what he said earlier too, for the good of
the family. But there's more too, Like it's dude, this
is like a week ago too. This is like they'd
played another game before, Like they just podcast before their
last game. I gets there's not anything more. You got
benched and asked out.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
Yeah, you shouldn't pour like these are private family conversations.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Why does this need to be a podcast? He looks
uncomfortable by all of it too. He didn't want to
talk on it much. I can't help but sit here
and go, who is this podcast for?

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Yeah, if you're a out of a linebacker, I would
love to see how many listeners are.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Man, the Cowboys got worse. Okay, that's all if they
have a wonderful welcome and the f w A also
all right? Coming up next. In just over three minutes,
Tom Brady cloned what Yes, that's next. But
