Speaker 1 (00:00):
So tell us, come on, surprise, that's do incredible.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Damn, let's do it. That's so good. So uh.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
The Cowboys are at training camp in ox Nord, California.
We played a little bit audio their stay from Jerry
and Steven and Shoddy taking questions from the leering press.
But it's time for Michaeh Parsons now to respond. Because
Jerry ran over his best friend Trayvon Dicks. They find
him for working out on his own in Florida, which
was in his contract that he's supposed to work out

(00:44):
with the team. He's rehaving knee injury and all that stuff.
I wanted to do it at his own place in Florida.
So Micah decides that he and Trayvon Diggs are going
to meet with the media on their own.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Now, was this done by Micah? I don't know. Was
this done by Trevon? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Was this done by their PR guy Tad I don't know.
There is before we play any of this audio, I
don't want to take the fun out of it. There's
about ten percent part of me that's like they all
know what they're doing. Because the Dallas Cowboys are wrestling
and there's an endgame to all of this, and they
all know to play their part.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
You're thinking, like the Joneses are in on them holding
this press conference like that type of deal, like, go
ahead and do it.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
I think it's possible, and I think Michah would go
along with something like that, honestly, but maybe not.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
There's a ten percent of me yet.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Think they could also do it without Mike and knowing
like they could go to Tad and go, hey, go
give go, give Mike and Trayvon a platform.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Make sure you right heard over that, but you you
set it up.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
And to me, it doesn't feel like that. But I'm
not saying it's not true. Yeah, I'm not saying it's
not true. I wouldn't put it past them. But seeing
this like they the Jones has been talking about leadership
and all those things, isn't that leadership for Micah to
do this for a teammate like want his teammates look
at this as like damn, look at him fighting for
his buddy.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
That's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I thought.

Speaker 5 (02:01):
That's how it resonated with me. I thought, man, that
is a bold thing to do, and we will. I
don't want to get into the Jerry thing. I do
have some thoughts on Jerry's perspective on this too.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
But Mike, I'm sorry, but Micah is the guy, you know,
who has the biggest star of the team outside of
dak Or. But he's right up there with them, and
he's the one that's the big story right now.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
His contract.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Are they going to pay him whatever forty two a
year and he's saying he's taking time out. Say yeah,
talk about his thing, but also help out a guy
who's on his way out and in the doghouse.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Yeah, And that's where ninety percent of me lies is.
Mike is emotional about this, yeah, and really cares. Dude,
He's upset that Jerry didn't have to do what he did.
Jerry was dude, Jerry was out of pocket. This is
the thing, Mike, Mike, I say, he wants to be
a Cowboy wants Micah would be more than happy playing
for the Philadelphia Eagles. Okay, he went to Penn State,
and he would be more than happy playing for the
Washington Commanders with his buddy Dan Quinn. Yeah, so the

(02:54):
Cowboys should be careful here. Yeah, here's the first one. Michael,
Why had had you decided to come participate in practice.
He really wasn't doing much.

Speaker 6 (03:04):
But I'm here for our teammates. You know, I'm not
here to please another grown man. You know. I want
to be here with Trey, watching rehab, watching them on
the field, watch his grove. I want to be here
battle with Terrence Still like I'm here for these guys.
I'm not here for him. I think, you know, I
think the end of the day, he's on the field
with us. You know, we're on the field, playing the
games and things like that. So I'm gonna just keep
boosting it and uh, you know, we're just gonna keep

(03:25):
playing together.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
A very purposeful mention of Terrence Still too.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Who is the other guy that Jerry ran over in
the press conference yesterday or two days ago.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Which which makes it feel I don't want to say calculated,
but there was a plan to get the back of
the dudes that Jerry and and it's Jerry.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Stephen Steven.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
I feel like Steven comports himself really well in these scenarios.
This is Jerry, I agree, And I think something real
specific is happening with Jerry. What do you mean, I
think this is the byproduct of age. If you spend
time with people in Jerry's demographic, they become increasingly agitated
with things that do not go their way. Jerry is
acting way different publicly than he did five years ago,

(04:05):
and I think this is very much a byproduct of
his age and the behavior of people in that age demographic.
Or is he stirring the drink and is that Does
that make all these guys he's mentioning now in the
spotlight and does that piss them off and make them
try harder?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Any update on the contract, Micah, I mean there's.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
Not really much movement, man. You know, I want to
be here. I've always said I want to be here,
but you know, you know, at the day they signed
the checks like always and uh, let's see if they
want me to.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Be here at the end of the day. Okay, got
like them, But keep it going.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
The reason I want to play some of these order
because Mike it does kind of change his tone a
little bit at the end. And we'll do it in
the next segment. One more I want to play before
we get out here, though. Are you getting frustrated?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Micah?

Speaker 6 (04:50):
No, I think they got their own timeline and when
they want to get things done at any given time,
they could get things done, So I don't think that helps.
I'm doing this for myself and my teammates. Like I said,
this isn't for Jerry, this isn't for Steven, This is
for guys like Trey. This is to help guys like Donovan, Sam,
guys who I know I can get better just by
being here and being.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
There for them.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Like, are you getting frustrated?

Speaker 6 (05:11):
No, I'm not. You know what I mean. I've been
pretty successful over my last courses, these last couple of years,
so you know, I'm gonna just let God.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Do his work.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
He mentioned Sam Williams, he mentioned Donathan, Donno and Wilson
like all these guys who are gonna be free agents
next year too.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
So he's there's you know a little extra there.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
It does change and you get to hear Trevon Dick
speak a little bit as well.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Let's do that next because it does get juice here.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
All right, it's about to get juice here.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
We'll do that right here next, and Skin Show ninety
seven point one, The Eagle, Don't Forget Tomorrow, vult Beat
and Hailstorm tickets will be given away, and you know,
we have a couple of new segments.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
We're excited to roll out Action Pack day three to six.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
Been in Skin show. Listen every damn day and if
you miss it, you can got the podcast on the
iHeart app, which is what we use to give away tickets,
so you need to have that thing anyways, But right
now it's time for this Killings big Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Picking up some sound from the Trayvon Diggs Micah Parsons
press conference with the Cowboys media a chess move to
follow up some of the comments from Jerry Jones on Monday.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Uh, Trayvon Diggs jumps in here.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Uh are you giving Micah any advice since you got
your contract done early?

Speaker 6 (06:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (06:23):
Of course, you know, Simon stay patient. He's the best
player in the NFL. Like, why wouldn't you pay him?

Speaker 3 (06:32):
I love Trayvon Diggs asking you know, he's saying it
to the media, but it's also saying it to the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Why aren't you paying him?

Speaker 6 (06:38):
Now?

Speaker 2 (06:38):
That's his best friend, So keep that in mind.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Do you think it helps Micah when Trayvon he already
got paid and says, man, he's stay patient.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
I always wondered if, like Trayvon Diggs, like a different
agent did he care about getting the most money as
a cornerback after his big contract season, or was he
was like, just pay me as soon as possible. I
don't care about being the highest paid cornerback.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
He was the second round pick, right he was, so
he wasn't gonna be making twenty four million.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Dollars in his final year.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yeah, Micah. He says that his agent's been reaching out
to the Cowboys because.

Speaker 6 (07:13):
Like I said, my agent's been reaching out as at
one point, another grown man has to be willing to
reach out as hisself, you know what I mean, like
communication worth both ways. They reached out, you know, so
that needs to happen too. They gotta want to do
it on their part. David reached out. Yeah, for sure, David.
I mean not to Joneses, but Adam whoever the little
in between heer is, you know how.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
To do it? Do it? Yes? Okay?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Now this is good because the little in between her
is Adam Pacifica, and he's the Cowboys cap guy. He's
been in the player personnel department for like twenty five years.
But he is a long time Arkansas dude. So he's
none of the Jones forever. And that is the little
going between your guy, Adam Pacifica.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
But that also, you know, if you balance it with
what Jerry Jones says, is like I only talk to
the principals.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I don't even know the name of that agent.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
I got my in between her to deal with in.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Between her, Micah calling out the guy in Anna Pacifica
wear his glasses and he looks like a guy. He
looks like a guy who would have the nickname of
the calculator, you know, with the guy on the bear
computer an the computer.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yeah. Uh, do you feel like the cowboys want to
get a deal done? Mike, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
If they don't want me here, they don't want me here,
I'll go about my business. I understand the nature of
the business. But like I said, as long as I'm
hearing an under contract, I'm gonna do what I have
to do to perform at the highest level. But if
this is then this is then you know, there's there's
the same way to Jones, Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones
and the other Jerry Jones take care of their family.
It's the same way I need to take care of
my family. You know what I mean. I got my

(08:45):
own three kids, of my own So we all need
to take care of our own family at the end
of the.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Day, you know.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
And the Cowboys are going to love me, and we
could just let him play out this year and then
we'll franchise tag him next year. So we've got him
for two years with that, doing a long term thing.
And Mike is like, I understand the business. Do you
think Micah is willing to hold out of an NFL
football game? Dude, he wasn't willing to hold out of
the first training camp practice. Yeah, he can't help it,
so that.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
That's a bad look him.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
He should not be there on the field personally, I
think that would send a better tone. But he's doing
the leadership thing, and you know, he really wants to
be out there. He did keep saying, I, you know,
I forget exactly I worried, but I want to play football.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Everyone who knows me knows I want to be out
here playing football. Yeah, so he's kind of showing his
guards at the same time.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
No danger of holding out at all. Right, Hey, Trayvon, though,
let's get him back in here with his high energy.
Were you expecting to get fined?

Speaker 7 (09:40):
No, I didn't expect that that kind of that kind
of hurt my feelings, but it's okay. Hopefully I'll make
it back in a census. And we don't understand where
he's coming from.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
His brother just got clear and toys acl maybe came
back six months or three four months early. Yeah, over alchemy.
You know, I went over there with him. They got
some of the best recovery. Yeah, he can work on.

Speaker 7 (10:00):
He can't to check what made sure I was doing
all supposed to in the day. This is his business.
His body is his body equity. He gotta feel like
he got to do his best for his body and
like all because at the end the day, if he's
not available, what they're gonna do.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Get rid of him, you know what I mean. So
he got to keep his body up to par.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
My body, my choice.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
I don't think that's what that means, but yeah, it
kind of is what that means.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Chavon said he was not expected to get fine though,
said it hurt his feelings a little.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Bit, and Steven said, oh no, he knew was in
the contract and he was gonna get fined, So that's
obviously a disagreement.

Speaker 6 (10:31):
Does Dravon know it's in the contract? Uh?

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Yeah, but you know The Cowboys could have just been like, now,
we're not gonna find it, but they are up literally
they're upset with him.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
So that's why they did it.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
Yeah, and this is but this is a big frontier
in sports. Uh, you know, happening at the highest level
is what we saw with Tom Brady. I mean that
caused a massive rift with him and Parcels not Parcels, Belichick,
and you know it's like, obviously Kraft is gonna go
with Brady. You know, there's this is what's happening. It's

(11:00):
happening at every level with the best athletes. And he
even said it. It's clear he's been talking about it
with his agent, the idea of body equity.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
You know, before the draft, they always have these meetings
and they get to know these players. And Trayvon Diggs
fell to the second round for a reason. A lot
of people did think it was fast and that's actually
it does hold up a little bit. But it could
be the body language thing because he does give off
and I don't really and he's just very it's who
he is, and.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
He speaks on that.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
In a second, I'll play that. But Jerry kept saying
that the other day leadership. If you're the top ten
percent highest paid play then you have to be a leader.
Trevon's like, dude, I've never been that type of guy,
and you've forced me to be that type of guy.
And that's another reason why the button nets. Hey, Micah,
were Jerry's comments hurtful?

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Were the Jerry comments hurtful?

Speaker 6 (11:44):
Yesterday? I just put it like this. I wouldn't say
they were hurtful. I would just say that, like everyone,
we are going to take care you know, each other,
you know, I think overall, like I want to take
care of him in the same way I want to
go out there and play for Jerry Jones. It's just
how I feel like. I feel like that's how we
should look at each other, you know, like we're all here,
like there is no difference between us.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
It's also unnecessary. It's all so unnecessary because they like
what we're doing.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
We're doing it, we're playing into it probably by discussing it,
and everyone else is too.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yeah, I just don't. It's someone else falling for it.
We're choosing to do this.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
But like nobody wants this though, Like this is not
this is a distraction, it's not good. It's it's there's
bad blood, and so it's not good for winning football games.
It's good for growing your brand and being in the headlines,
and that's all they really care about.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
You know, you will never get Jerry will never win
another Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
I think, like what, I think the way he's been
acting publicly in the last two or three years is
different than the way he used to act. And I
do think it's a byproduct of age. And I think
the best example we salve that is the way he'd
clapped down on Sean and Rjy in a way that
he had never done. He had been on with those
guys hundreds of times. And Man, if you want to

(12:56):
see what I'm talking about, just go look at what
your parents are doing on Facebook. I mean the well,
you know what I'm saying. People in that demo, they
get to a certain point where they're they're unhappy with
the way the world is changing and they like the
way it was before, and they're just gonna say all
their feelings.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Oh my god, I'm already old because I do all
of these things.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
There is no there's no editing, there's none of that.
There's no Okay, what's gonna be the byproduct of me
saying this, It's that's all out the window. He did
not have to say what he said about Terrence Steele, No,
and Trayvon Diggs. That was just a person being very
honest for no gain whatsoever. That was his opinion. And

(13:39):
he paused before he said it, and he's like, f it, Hey,
but you're the hero you were on land Man. Yeah,
Like that's the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
At the end of the day. That's the takeaway.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
He's a top five bullet point for him from that
prest conference was not that he threw two of his
players under the bus. Hey, Trayvon Diggs, does Jerry want
you to be a better leader?

Speaker 7 (13:57):
I feel like, you know me, I'm not personally I'm
not even a vote leader. Like I'm not gonna be
screaming at God. I'm not gonna be yelling at guys.
How I'm a leader is what I do on the field,
how I perform in the field, the things that I
do in practice, practice, hard, working hard. So that's not
that's how I lead him my way. I'm gonna lead
him my way. I'm continuing to lead them my way.
I'm not gonna change who I am. I'm not gonna
change and start talking and being a vocal guy, Like

(14:18):
that's just not me.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
That's not who I am.

Speaker 7 (14:20):
But I will lead in different ways and I feel
like I do that, you know.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Okay, I mean again, the Cowboys did not meet with
Treyvon Diggs before the draft. They drafted him because he
was there. This hack happened with jayda On Blue too,
or Jaden Blue. And there's been whispers of course that
you know, he might have been like the hardest worker
in all that stuff. Yet that's a literal easy thing
to say without anyone knowing. But it is interesting he
had never met with the Cowboys either before they drafted him.

(14:44):
So Morris Claiborne is the one from God nearly twenty
years ago that we talked about, you know, but the
guy who they didn't visit with. Like, if you don't
know a person, like if you met Traylon Digs before
the draft, you would know that he's not going to
be that guy. Here's the last one, Mike, I asked, again,
are you frustrated by this?

Speaker 6 (15:01):
Honestly? Yeah, When you go around the league and you
see these other teams taking care of their best guys,
I see TJ. Got taken care of you know, Max
got taken care of, Miles got taken care of it.
He got two years left on his deal, so it's harded. Yeah,
you see a lot of people around league and taken
care of you just you know, wish you had something
that you know, that same type of energy.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
So he did escalate from him not frustrated too, Yeah,
I am frustrated actually got the other guys can pay, Like,
I want to just come out and practice and have
the best year ever.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
He feels disrespected.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
He's being disrespected kind of. Although Jerry's like, it has
not helped the club.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
If we just keep giving contracts before guys are you know,
while guys are still under contract, that does not benefit
the salary gap.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
And he's right on that.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
But also if you look at the guys that they
have given the early contracts too, they've missed on a
lot of it.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Yeah, it's the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
I'm like, do you know the person is Yeah, Like,
it's just weird that they choose some guys to go
early on, right, and the best guys who you know
they are you go late on. Like me, maybe you
should have done Dak early because you have more questions
about who he is.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
I feel like if I'm an agent and I have
what I would consider to be a middle class player,
I'm gonna go to the Joneses and get a deal
done because we're gonna I know he's a middle class player.
I know we're not gonna stretch the money till the end.
And I can go get a deal done if you
go to the Joneses, get a little guaranteed money for
your player, and move on, because that those are the deals.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
That they do.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
Bring on you know, all the whatever, all right, good stuff.
We'll be back talking about it again tomorrow. I'll never
forget the time the KT look Trayvon dead in his
eye and he said, you can get over anything if
you try hard enough. And then Trayvon rehabbed his injuries. Christina,
you want to stick around, play some music? I do,
all right, she's next right here on the eagle.

Speaker 6 (16:54):
There you going, well, I'm gonna get my sack back, dude.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
I'll bite the head off the back. I am charm
