Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, it's the Benn and Skin Show. No Skin today,
but he will be back tomorrow. We have to sday
a game coming up next, and then in the five
o'clock hour, we'll take a look at episode five of
the America's Team, The Gambler and His Cowboys, the new
debt Netflix eight part documentary series that's been very good.
It's been very good and fun to watch, and some

(00:20):
juicy stuff in the five pm hour. Right now, let's
do this now.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
It is around the sports KTD twins as.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
All the sports. Yes, all right, quick housekeeping and then
we'll get to the meet here. Ben Trayvon Diggs on
the active roster for the Cowboys. Don't know if he's
gonna play week one, but he's past the physicals and
all that stuff. They're just kind of building up a strength,
like he said in his highly watched documentary The Comeback.

(00:51):
Everyone's been watching that and talking about that one. So
good news. He's I think week two or three he's
gonna play. Okay, and we do a chance he plays
week one, but probably not. We talked about this last week.
He needs to like he's he is. He either needs to.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Convince the Cowboys that they shouldn't part ways with him
after this season, or he needs to go and press
another team. Either way, he's he has every reason in
the world to get out there and try to be
healthy and try to contribute.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
No doubt, man, it's a win win for everyone if
he plays well like it's great. Terry McLaurin of the
Washington Commander football team has ended his holdout, so one
day closer to the season, one holdout over three years,
ninety six million dollars for him, so he's in camp
all happy. Meanwhile, during the Cowboys third preseason game, Micah

(01:41):
is just kind of chilling on a training table, just
laying and looking sad. He was there for I can
report to you six to seven minutes laying down like that,
and then apparently he's got to go in and talk
to Shoddy about it today and all that stuff. You know,
maybe that's already happened over the weekend, like hey man,
you can't be and that in front of everyone. It

(02:01):
wasn't a great look.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
It looked like he was pouting and throwing a tantrum,
But it also wasn't a long time. He didn't do
that the whole game. It wasn't a mature thing to do.
But this thing has spun out of control. And Jerry's
on a media tour, so I get it. He's he's frustrated.
There's people out there who think that there's no reconciliation
possible here like that they're just two at odds that
Mike It absolutely does not want to be here anymore.

(02:25):
I don't know if that's true, but these tend to
get really ugly. We talked about Ceedee Lamb last year,
and you know, Dax had his and like different guys
have had their thing like this with Jerry over the years,
and the minute they get paid, everything's all good and
it's a love story again.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Yeah, and I think that's where we'll end up. I
still think that. I think we have to talk about
the other possibilities of it, you know, of it getting
ugly or you know, we just saw an episode four.
It's different. It is nineteen ninety three compared to now.
But the Cowboys losing those two games, Look, Sam Williams
is not going to do two things in the Cowboys

(03:01):
first two games that make you go, god, we gotta
have Micah. Like the Cowboys had a rookie running back
who's fumbling and dropping passes. It's evident. It's just it's
just a little different and it's a different time and
there's it's just not the same right.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
And by the way, Emmett was Emmitt's very adamant about
this going. Hey man, I wasn't a holdout. Yeah, Mike
has got a contract. He's getting paid twenty four million
this year. Emmett was out of contract for like thirty
days with no contract. He was free, And that's Jerry's
kind of point.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I think the most illuminating thing that Jerry said is
not if the agent said take the contract and shove it.
It was he said the president here is Dak handle
it like Dak, because Dak ended up. You know, he
had was under contract too, but was like went and
did his thing and practiced and all that. You know,
Mike is choosing not to practice, which Seedee Lamb did

(03:52):
the same thing.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
He didn't practice, which I don't really mind because I
want him healthy for the Saxon. If he's not gonna play,
or he's gonna fake a back end and miss games,
it could get real ugly.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
That's where I think it's getting really And I think
also moves were made Micah chose to do a joint
press conference with Trayvon Diggs a day after Jerry ran
over Trevon Diggs. I think there's some bad vibes there.
I do think it'll get solved, but here we are
still still in the middle of it. And Mike, Yeah,
it's a bad look, dude, it's a bad look. But

(04:22):
what are you gonna do? You sit out the year
not get any money. No, he's not. He's gonna play
in week one as he wants to. That's gonna happen.
Cut down day as tomorrow. They got to get this
roster down to a certain number. They already cut Lyle
Collins two weeks after they signed him to do some
running and then they cut him. So he's not even
on the team. You know what, if he wanted to
be a coach, I'd give him a job. Dak Mixim right,

(04:46):
we love Collin's a good dude, good vibes.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
I saw him working with some of the guys too,
like he was coaching. I think he was helping some
of the DN guys. And uh, okay, So is Mazzie
Smith gonna get cut?

Speaker 1 (04:58):
That's a big question for sure. You know. My my
thought on. That is it's hard to cut a guy
when you don't have anyone better on the roster. Like
that's a that's a thing to me, that's interesting. I mean,
your defensive tackles are OsO Digie Zua, Solomon Thomas, Jay
Toya was like a seventh round draft pick. He's bigger,
you know, just big take on double teams. Guy Mazzie Smith.

(05:21):
The way if you cut him, you're going to add
because there's someone who you found who got cut by
another team that you think is better than Mazzie Smith.
That's the only way you can do it. Otherwise, it
doesn't make sense to cut him because the other guy
that's better than him is not there, say the name
of a guy named Perry on Oprah Winfrey. It's not
though it doesn't, it's not that big of a difference.

(05:44):
So that's the thing, is like twenty five to thirty
guys are gonna get cut by all these other teams.
Here's what I Two things that kind of annoying me
about the Cowboys. One is do I fully trust them
to a answer the phone call and really see consider
any trade offer that's coming in for Micah and b
Are they really grinding on the other teams. Yeah, they

(06:06):
have people that do those jobs, but your people who
have those titles are oftentimes at Netflix Blue Carpet Specials,
watching their documentary or taking pictures with clients ten feet
away from Micah. Now I know it's Will mclaan and
his team's job to be Scotty who the forty nine
Ers and the Lions and the Bears are all cutting
from their team, But like your decision makers aren't doing that,

(06:29):
and that's annoying. Oh that's a yeah. So they're gonna
have to find someone from another team. The other one,
Douce Swann's probably gonna get cut too. So yep, all
that time.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Crowded running back room.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
All right, there you have it. There's around the sports.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
We'll get back into the Cowboys Accusting the Cowboys at
five o'clock. Coming up next, The Weekly Update. Two gelfs,
one hot tub, one story,
