I'm Ben Rogers, joined by Jeff skin Wade. Hello everybody,
Kevin K. T.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Turner, Happy August and Happy Friday.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
And Christina Cared little baby corn Bread Ray back to
the studio. Helly, we're just getting ready for this show,
just getting ready to go and uh, you know, driving
out here to the Chalk Talk casino and resort and
Durant when bam, major news breaks in the world today
and now is our reaction to it? Micah Parsons gets

(02:16):
on social media and requests a trade.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
He also proceeds to spill all sorts of dirty laundry,
just destroying Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones for the way
in which they've negotiated his contract. Basically, he makes it
sound like there was After his third year, he goes
to his agent, let's get a deal done.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
I want to stay with the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I realized there's a bunch of past rushers who are
going to get big contracts, and so by me doing
this deal early, I know I'm gonna cost myself money,
but I want to be a Cowboy. This is where
I want to be. I'll sign for less, I'll play
here for less. And the Cowboys like, no, not interested,
and then uh he. At some point along the way,
it speaks to Jerry Jones, and Jerry Jones is talking

(03:04):
to him about leadership. They're having a conversation about leadership,
and then suddenly Jerry starts talking to Mike about his contract.
They have a little conversation about the contract, something informal,
and then when Micah's agent reaches out to the Cowboys,
they're like, what are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (03:17):
We got a done deal. It's basically all but done.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Mikeh negotiated it directly with Jerry, and then Scumbaggie it's
been it's like talking to a suspect without their lawyer, right,
and it's not even real.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
It's it's unfair allegations, you know, and like.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Nobody read nobody read Micah his miranda right, and so
this paints the Cowboys with a terrible paint brush, But
it's not a surprise to any of us who have
been watching this franchise burn Now for I don't know,
thirty years. And also it's like, you know, Mike is
giving his side to the story and it's insightful. But
Jerry told all of us he doesn't talk to the agent,

(03:56):
and so I'd have to go back in time, and
so much has happened, including a pandemic, but this all feels.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Very much like how the Dead stuff happened.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
And then Dez switched over to Rock Nation and wasn't
he liked the first athlete in the jillion years.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
To be on the cover of Rolling Stone? Remember all that?

Speaker 3 (04:15):
And there was that big Rolling Stone article and they
gave all the details. I mean, it's like Jerry thinks
that he can operate a certain way because he thinks
he's more powerful and wealthy and more important than everybody else,
and so this is how he operates.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Man.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
This is a lot like the preseason game a few
years ago when they played the preseason game and then
after the game they asked about Zeke and Jerry said,
Zeke who? And then you know, last year, he got
a little weird with Ceedee Lamb and got a little
weird I mean with Dak as well. They signed Dak
in his hotel room right the Saturday before the season

(04:54):
opener Cleveland Rounds. I mean they this is a huge
day for Jerry Jones in the Jones family. This is
exactly what they wanted because Mike I can't do anything right.
All Michaeh can do is just like kind of sit
there and the Cowboys will be like, okay, well, we'll
just wait and then he'll be at free agent next
year and then we will franchise tag you and that'll

(05:15):
be good. And then as you get a little bit older,
we can we can do it again if we want to.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
We just kind of see how it works. Now, what
Mike I can do is leave.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
He can get on a train and leave Oxnard and
that would cost him fifty thousand dollars a day.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
He can also say his ankle hurts. He can say
his ankle hurts.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Yeah they're doing that's that's the play dirty get it
like a medical thing going on.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah, that's pretty good right there.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yeah, but regardless, it's terrible for this season. No matter what,
it's terrible for this season. You're about to embark upon
a season where nobody thinks you're gonna be very good,
but you're gonna score a lot of points. You you know,
it's a wasted season if you just have all this
drama where the team feels like you're disrespecting.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
One of its most important leaders. That's the saying. And
did you guys read Jane Slater's tweets? I've not seen it. Yeah,
I love Jane, So I didn't see your tweets today.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
She was talking about, you know, the Cowboys wanted to
trade Micah two years ago and Jerry was like, We're
not trading Micah. But uh, there were coaches that were
at that time saying I got players coming in my
office all the time saying, hey, man, I don't really
like that Micah does stuff the way he does it,
And so they had discussions about trading him back. This

(06:27):
is according to Jane. They had discussions about trading him
two years ago and Jerry said no, and that Micah's
changed or evolved or been more mature over time, because
we still talk about that stuff. But yeah, I mean,
and dude, it's it's it's all incremental Malie Cooker was
the guy who made comments. But yeah, dude, there are
Cowboys players changing their profile pictures right now to pictures

(06:50):
of Micah Ceedee Lambs has tweeted and Ceede Lamb is
one of if if it's not Dak and it's not Mikea's, Ceede.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Lamb's the leader of the ring. Is like, dude, just
pay the guy.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
We don't need all this. And it's also a really
fed up thing to do to your new head coach, right,
but this is the cowboy way, cutting the legs out
from under your head coach.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
They care more about the brand than they do about anything,
and they they will focus on that brand and worry
about that brand at all costs, even if people get
caught up in the shrapnel like this, right, they don't.
I mean they love this, They love this juice, They
love being in the headlines. Yep, Like why else would
why else does Jerry care about any of this? Like

(07:30):
what are they waiting for to get a deal done?
Unless they're fielding trade offers, which they've already waited too long?
What is the point of waiting at this point? There's
no point now waiting And so unless you just want
to be in the headlines for having this drag out. Yeah,
and we'll be talking about this all day long. There's
more developments, more things to get into. But I do
want to leave one more little nugget out there. I

(07:51):
feel like once Jerry made the Hall of Fame, he
was good. You know, all this talk about you know,
Jerry wants to win one more and all that kind
of stuff. As soon as he got in the Hall
of Fame. I think he felt like, you know, because
we've had many discussions over here, has been about Jerry's
running out of time and wasted years. He knows the
die is cast, he knows what his legacy is. He's

(08:13):
in the Hall of Fame, man, and so this is
just like, oh yeah, well, let me show you. And
he becomes more cantankerous with the way he deals with
the public every passing day. He becomes more cantankerous and
old and I'm rich and everyone can suck it.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
It just becomes more and more intense every week. Well,
we'll be.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Talking about it throughout the show. We'll get back into
it at four o'clock. The whole five o'clock hour, we're
going to talk about it. We'll do a deep dive,
and we'll be watching all of this as things develop. Hell,
maybe they get a deal done and everybody makes up,
but who knows.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
I like that all right? Coming up in just over
three minutes, where are you gonna take us in things?
Skin is tracking? Okay, I want to talk about this
specific type of hotel and I went back in time
last night
