On Friday, we're doing the show at Fortunate Sun in

new USL team that's coming to the DFW. You gotta
be out there three to six and then they have
a big announcement afterwards. But Garland's not far from deep Ellam,
I think wife, he's coming out to Fortunate Sign. Okay,
so we may grab dinner. We may have had twilight.

We've got a few shows coming up in twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Okay, good, good good. We're getting ready. We're working on
some material.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Yeah, dude, what a great name for a Wam cover band, Spam.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
That is good.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
We're just they kind of over send you emails about
everything your band's doing too.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Pretty much. Yeah, you'll you'll be finding out what we're
up to some behind the scenes rehearsals and things like that. Yeah,
gig in June of twenty twenty seven. Which one of
you is the gay guy?

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Both of us? Yeah? Yeah, I played both parts.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Oh okay, you're Andrew Ridgeley and George.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
That's a solo thing.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, respeg uh and you'll eat some ham sandwiches during
the set too.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Okay, we'll go around the sports coming up here momentarily,
KT has long headed out for an NFL legend and
finally as an opportunity to pounce. But before we get
to that, a new article came out today actually just
before the show in Vanity Fair, a new article about
the MAVs new ownership and with more on that here's Kevin.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Kind of strange and I don't know, I might be
just kind of looking too deep into something, but it
was interesting that this article dropped. It did involve our
Mavericks a little bit too. It starts off by talking
about how one hundred days ago, Maria Maddilson was on
top of the world. She's there, he is at Trump's
inaugradation inauguration, and she's next to Obama and Laura Bush

(02:33):
and things are going good and the NBA team just
went on a run to the finals. And then they
kind of discuss what happened in the last one hundred days,
which I think the timing of this article is based
on the thing that they do every time there's a
new president the first one hundred days.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
And they do approval radio yah and all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Yeah, So but then they're like, in the last three months,
it's been for the Addison family because of ay, the
trade the tariff thing has not been great for them.
And then the idea that they were looking for even
maybe even more excited than here in DFW, getting a
casino built in Long Island, and they have apparently dropped

(03:14):
its plans to do that, And it says in this
article Las Vegas Sands dropped its plans to build a
Dallas area gambling house for now, which it makes you go,
what is that all on pause? Like I thought we
were still going to try to do that, so I've
now I don't know if this says it later in
the article. I've only read the first half of the
article before we hit the air, but I can tell

(03:35):
you that all of the plans for the new casino
are still a new casino, I'm sorry. The new arena,
the new r arena are moving forward and every time
I've heard any talk about it, it's legalized gambling or not.
We are moving forward with this and we're going to
do it. That's why they're looking for thirty to fifty

(03:57):
acres because it's not going to be just a new arena.
It's going to be an entire resort, and the arena
will be part of the resort. Think about the same
way that we love going.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
To chalk Talk seeo in resort and Durant, Oklahoma, and
they have that grand theater there as part of the resort.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Same thing.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Whether there's gambling there or not, there is a resort
there and an arena is going to be a part
of the resort.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, And look at Texas Live just the way it's built.
It's built like a sports book.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
And so I think people, even if you can't even
obviously no one can confirm when legalized sports gambling will
happen in Texas, everyone feels like it could be inevitable.
So they're building the bones to where they can deal
with it when it comes. And so I think with
the Addison's in the new Arena, they were like, all right, larr,
we couldn't get this past. Now, we just want to

(04:48):
resort and it'll have the bones to take on legalized
gambling if we get there, But for now, we're just
going to move forward to this.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I don't think they're going to stop pursuing it.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
No, But it is interesting because of like you know,
if you just look at the political makeup of Texas,
it's aligned with the political makeup of the Addlson family.
If you look at the political makeup of Nassau County
where Long Beach is, it's not that way Long Island. Yeah,
Long Island, and so it's I've said Long Beach, I'm sorry,

(05:17):
And so it's that whole thing where, like you know,
everything is so partisan these days.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
If that part of the.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
World is more blue than red, and someone is very red,
they're like, you're not getting this casino here, but down
here in Texas you could totally get it once it
does become legalized.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Ye, And that was the primary point of the article,
was about the Long Island stuff. But I just thought
that the few casual mentions of the FW was interesting.
I want to read this paragraph to you. It would
be wrong to say it's the end of her lucky run, Miriam.
Even though Addleson fell out of the Forbes fifty, she's
still worth around thirty billion dollars. Trump was the first

(05:55):
Republican to win Nasau County since nineteen eighty eight. But
they have a you know, a blue governor up there
in New York. And the quote from a casino industry
insider said Miriam Maddison basically said Mary Maddison will not
get a casino in the.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
State of New York.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
That's like a liberal billionaire George Soros opening a casino
in Fort Worth.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
It ain't happening, right, So.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
That was one of their goals, and that's what I mean.
They also mentioned the article. They were like, look, you
all might think they own a.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Bunch of casinos and stuff in America. They don't. It's
all out of giantry.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
So Singapore and stuff.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
That's why the whole like, hey man, they're going to
move the team to the Las Vegas thing was so crazy.
It's like they don't own all those casinos like they
used to. They sold them and they became crazy billionaires
when they moved there or have a big operation in Macaw, China.
That's when they went crazy billionaire money.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Man.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I have a hard time seeing Macaw, you know, reading
it without going maccaw that bird sound like it's okay,
so that is a bird sound, but in macause not
a monkey.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Yeah No, that's aque. Oh my caque Yeah yep. Coming
up next in Around the Sports. Finally, at long last,
this is less than four minutes away. K T takes
down a legend teardown Turner finally gets gets the NFL
legend yeh waiting to take down.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
That's next.
