to win those tickets. So I hope you have it downloaded.
Is Luke Wilson getting back together with Will Ferrell. We'll
find out, But right now it's time for this skin track,

(00:26):
another edition of things Skin is Traffic. Did you guys
see any footage of Anthony Davis yesterday at MAVs Media Day.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I saw it. He had pink eye.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Ouch, he's struggling with his He had surgery for the
detached retina. Yeah, and his eye still looks pretty jacked up.
I thought I saw that he has to wear protective
goggles for the rest of his playing career. He does,
and I didn't realize this. The game where it happened
was that. I don't know if you guys remember the
Atlanta game he played. In that game, he hit a

(00:58):
game winner. Earlier in the game is when he caught
an elbow in the eye from Daniel Gafford. Then he
came back and had thirty four fifteen five blocks and
hit a game winner, and that was he didn't know
how bad it was at the time. He discovered it
the summer, so he just started playing five on five recently.
But his eye is very, very red and he's gonna

(01:20):
wear goggles moving forward. Yeah, And is that is as
I read from the surgery, because I don't remember it
being like that. He said something it sounded like BS
to me, but I'm so unknowledgeable about this, but he
was talking about the eye drops were doing that. Oh wow, Okay, yeah,
I mean, dude, he is Uh that's incredible that he
played through it like that, had that and hit a

(01:40):
game God.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Uh man.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
It's so hard to be an Anthony Davis fan just
because it's polar extremes, right, It's it's it's he's either
you know, a top five player in the world or
he's in street clothes. And I just I'm I'm hoping
he can stay healthy this year, Becau because if he's
healthy and when Kai gets back and you've got Cooper

(02:04):
Flag and obviously got a great team like this could
be a really special season. But it's hard to make
any plans around Anthony Davis. Just because he's so often injured.
They're going to have a preseason game next Monday in
Fort Worth at Dickies.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Does that excite y'all?

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah, dude, I'm excited that it's here. Like, honestly, the
Cooper flag excitement is the thing that probably I'm most.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Fired up about in the world.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Like I cannot I can't believe we got the number
one pick in a year that it matters to have
the number one pick, and this fan base deserved it
after having Luca taken away from them.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
It's unbelievable. I cannot wait for this. Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
The thing that I'm most excited about in the world
besides that, is having you guys go see one battle
after another.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
So I can talk about it with you.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Yeah. I read a badass article in the New York
Times on Sunday with Sean Penn.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
They did the Sean Penn Interviews, and you know Sean.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
And he is so great, Like I'm gonna go I
haven't even seen the other stuff. I think he's gonna
win an Academy Award for this. He's that great. I've
been avoiding reading or hearing anything about it. If someone
I'm around starts talking about the movie I walk Away.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
And I Haven't. I was our buddy Danny.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
I was talking to our buddy Danny about this, and
he was likees, like, I'm not gonna give anything away
other than you will spend the days after you watch
it talking about Sean Pinnen with people great, like it's
such an interesting character and he's so great in it.
But then I saw a clip of him on Kimmel
talking about being in the movie, and I realized he's

(03:38):
generally considered like the best actor of his generation. He
pretty much so he's not because he's younger than de
Niro and Paccino, so he's in that next class. He's
in that next class. And then you know those guys,
those older guys were all friends with him, like he
was doing movies with DeNiro and all this stuff. But
he got disenchanted with movies in the last fifteen years

(04:00):
and kind of stopped doing them. And I went and
looked at there's a few that he's been in, in
smaller ones. But he was talking about this got me
excited to be in movies again.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
It's sweet. Yeah, it's and it really is. I don't
think I can overhype it. Enough.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
It really is that good. But in reading about Sean
Penn and his life and being in this movie, did
you guys know that he was arrested in Macau, China
when he was I think he was over there, probably
doing I don't even know if Kat and Christiana know this.
Do you guys know that he was married to Madonna? No,
I guess I didn't. That would have been before you

(04:34):
guys were born, when me and Ben he did a
movie with her called Shanghai Surprise.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Do you remember that? Yes, when you guys might.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Have been a favorite sex act by the way he thought,
and it is always a surprise, you guys might have
been one or two or not born. But Sean Penn
was married to Madonna. Yeah. And so anyways, when he
was over there, him and his security hung a photographer
over a balcony because he was invading h Sean Penn
used to be the bad boy. He used to get
in fights, punch paparazzi, all that stuff, hang out with

(05:05):
drug lords. Yeah, And so he had to go to
like a Chinese prison for a brief period of time,
and then there was an escape.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Do you get an escaped?

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Do you guys know what a jetfoil is huh no, no, okay,
it's like a special type of saran wrap. That's what
I thought I was reading this article he's talking about.
It's basically I'll send a picture of it to you.
It's basically just like kind of a boat ferry, but
it's a speed boat fairry. And so they got him
out of this prison, and then they had to take

(05:39):
him to a I guess they called it a holding
house or something Navy seals. It's just like a movie itself.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Who broke him out?

Speaker 1 (05:49):
I imagine the American embassy was involved. They didn't get
too into great many details, but he had to spend
some time in this thing, and then they got him
on this jetfoil and he went to in between place.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
And then got him out of there.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
It's a great article.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
It's in the New York Times. Who else was he
married to? Someone else? Famous? Right?

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Robin Wright?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Penn?

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Jenny who went to SMU? Oh? Really, yeah, Jenny went
to SMU? If you did? All? Right, there you have it.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
There are things Skin is tracking coming up next in
the Hollywood Shuffle, local boy does good Luke Wilson and
he's joining forces with Will Ferrell again.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
We'll talk about that project next.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
