"What would make a man pull a gun in a bar over a look?"In this wild and hilarious episode of The Ben and Skin Show, the crew dives into one of the most bizarre Texas stories of the week: a man at the Thirsty Turtle bar in North Richland Hills allegedly fired a gun simply because someone looked at him wrong during a Cowboys-Packers game. KT Turner delivers the scoop with his signature “KT Fun Tweets” flair, sparking a hilarious and heated discussion about bar names, outlaw legends, and the dangers of dirty looks.Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray then shift gears to a topic that hits close to home: Chili’s canceling their iconic skillet queso. The gang passionately debates the queso shake-up, with KT mourning the loss like a true Tex-Mex loyalist. The new “Southwest Queso” gets dissected ingredient by ingredient, sparking a queso war that’s both mouthwatering and hilarious.

but right now it's time.

Speaker 2 (00:07):

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Featuring veteran news anchor kt fun tweets David Callum is
a man, and he is being charged with two counts
of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon because he was
out there watching the cowboys and packers on Sunday night
at a bar called the Thirsty Turtle.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Interest over the turtles, nor Trishan Hills the Thirsty Turtle.
You know, we've heard of bars that have some the
mucky duck. It's a clever thing to do. You just
have a little adjective right there and then throw in
the animal.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
That's when thirsty ass turtle.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Uh So, he became agitated at some point and shot
the firearm in the bar after another patron was quote
looking at him.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Oh man, it's bad when those guys have guns. It's
like the guy who.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
Decapitated a someone recently because he didn't like the way
he was being talked to.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Who was it was it?

Speaker 1 (01:15):
The which famous outlaw was it that once shot a
man for snoring? Remember that back in the day the
time life books. They'd show a commercial there was this
before Yall's time. Yeah, and it was a famous old
cowboy that once shot a man for snoring. John Wayne
No No No is a real dude. John Wayne Newton

(01:36):
might have been the outlaw Josie Wales.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
So this guy, you know, I do remember we went
to La once and we as a show. I think
you were with us at that point, KT, but we were.
We were on a subway. I didn't realize they had
subways in La. I didn't even know that was the thing.
You remember this, Yeah, and a guy and his girlfriend
or you see them on the subway and you see
another guy and a girlfriend and one of the girls goes,

(02:00):
what the eff are you looking at? Bitch to the
other girl. And the other girl's like.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I'm just here, I don't know what's happening, Like I'm not.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
But she smirked. Oh he smirked in a way that
upset the agitated lady even more so she went and
punched that lady in the mouth and snapped her tooth
in half. And the guys are like, what just happened?
And it's like some people, if they feel like they're
getting a dirty look I guess they're willing to go
to jail forever.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
That's and that's the worst place to be as the boyfriend,
because all I could sit there and think about was
all right that couple broke up, because that girl's gonna
always remember my boyfriend did nothing when that chick popped
me in the face.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
And what is he supposed to do?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
You anything to the girl because he's like, well, her
boyfriend's gonna kick my ass. And I'm just trying to
get on the subway, right, and I met you on
bumble or whatever I swiped left.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I don't know. Yoh, Michael.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Well, hopefully everyone's okay at the Thirsty Turtle and they've
got good crowd Sunday.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, sure, this is great promotion. You want to remote there?

Speaker 4 (03:12):
We need to discuss Chili's. Hell yeah, Chili's is doing
something today. First of all, we're all passionate fans of Chili's,
but today they caught headlines and I think there will
be some blowback here. Chili's cancels longtime skillet caso. Ah.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Yeah, I've heard about this. My family had a discussion
about this last week.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Replacing it with a new Dallas made dip I try.
They're getting rid of skillet caso in favor of a
new cheese dip called Southwest Kso.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
What's in it? Is it a Bob Armstrong situation? Little
ground beef, little pico, little sour cream, little guak all
in it?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
I kind of think they kind of had that going, right,
Am I wrong?

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Well, they had beef in their caso.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
I've never been a fan of the Chili's skillet case
of Oh really, I always hated it.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, I tow down on it. Yeah, I don't like it.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
I'm saddened by this, but I'm sure whatever they roll
out is fine. Chili's is having an unbelievable renaissance ever
since the son of that guy took over their social media.
Have y'all seen all this story? I saw the story
social media.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yea.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
He was the son of a guy. He's the son
of a guy that had worked at Chile. He's the
son of a guy that had worked at Chili. So
he grew up in a Chili's family and he took
over the social media. He's in his twenties, and there's
been lots of articles written about the resurgence of Chili's.
Their earnings are way up over the last year, and
a lot of it is being attributed to this kid

(04:41):
taken over their I say kid, he's probably early thirties,
late twenties.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
I attribute it to the great George Felix ah Man,
one of the greatest chief marketing officers of all time.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
What a hero.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Well, they are taking out the beef. This one is
going to be more vegetarian. I'm out cheese, green chili's, onions, limes.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
It's just take out the ground beef in it.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
So for me, the perfect caso is white cheese and
it's Bob Armstrong action. It's got it's got pico, it's
got guak, it's got sour cream, and it's got ground
beef in it.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
And it's not all mixed together. Until you mix it together,
that's just a Mexican pizza without so good.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
The aforementioned George Felix is quoted in this article Oh nice.
We understand. We understand that some guest have a lot
of love. Oh it's his guests have a lot of
love for skillet beef and white skillet caso. But we
also recognize that there was room for improvement with a
with flavor and quality low sales numbers told us that
our guests were clearly looking for a better caso from Chili's,

(05:42):
so we went out and developed Let's Go.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
So will there be a cracker barrel reaction? What you
can't change something with your restaurant? Do you know what?
You have to clean up on keso?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Because it is probably, outside of alcohol, the highest priced
margin of anything on menu. It always shocks me when
I look down and see, yeah, keeso six dollars for
melted cheese. I mean, it's one of those things that's
such a high profit margin for a restaurant. So if
sales are going down in your caso, you're going to
fix it because they make so much money.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Off of it. Also, like for the people who don't
want to buy it though, Like if you don't want
to buy that expensive caso, then you can just be unhappy.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
All right? There, you got it. That is fantastic, all right,

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
