Speaker 1 (00:01):
Now it's cool around the sports k Tod Queens has
all the sports.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Yo twenty two is quite a butt beating. My question
is because you know, Jerry gets asked after the game
all this stuff about, hey, you need to go start
making moves and things like that. What a when after
last week's game we're.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Like, it's over to Steveit sucks. What the hell was that?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
And then this week's like we're gonna make some moves
at the trade deadline. Like the tone changes so quickly.
So I wanted to ask this question to use guys.
Do you think yesterday's win was a bit of a mirage.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
A bit of a mirage?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Well, I just think that it was their most complete
win in a long time. You know, you'd got to
think that at some point they're going to make adjustments
and change. I don't know if they if it was
just the opponent being so shorthanded and not having any receivers,
I don't know. I'm starting to feel like the NFL
is just a coin flip any week unless you're one

(01:09):
of the top three teams or bottom three teams. Everybody
else is about the same. But I mean, you gotta
be excited about that win. It was so freaking dominant
and your offense is so good. And I think one
of the reasons you're asking this because some people are saying, hey,
should should the Cowboys go make a trade? I mean,
I think they need so much help on defense. I

(01:30):
don't think they're a one player away. I've seen that said,
but I just don't think they're one player away. They
need to just use all their upcoming draft picks on
defensive players. If you could steal a quality defensive player
for without giving up one of your first or second
round picks, I would consider it. I mean, on one hand,
I will say this, whether it's about it being a mirage,

(01:51):
the offense is good enough to win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
The defense is not.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
If you could somehow fix that with adding a couple
there without giving up all those early picks, I would
consider it because I don't want to waste an MVP
year from deck.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
I'm going to tell you whether or not it was
a mirage in the second, but I want to comment
on something he just said because I was thinking about
it yesterday. In regards to Pickens, I think I personally
would resign pickings, and I know you're going to make
him a top five or six receiver, maybe top ten,
just depends on how it goes. And I also think
his numbers are going to start coming down a little
bit with CD healthy. But he's they're so dynamic together,

(02:28):
and he is the best down the field thread in football.
He just is the things that he can do with
one hand and high pointing the ball and making awkward catches.
It's insane too big of a weapon. And if you
do spend your top six first round picks or top
first and second round picks six picks over the next
two years, if you do spend five, four or five

(02:50):
of those on defense, then you're going to get players
that should help your defense at a lower rate that
should be able to allow you to bay pickings. Yeah,
I wanted to get that off. I don't think yesterday
was a mirage. What I think yesterday was was a
home game. If you look at the way the Cowboys
play at home versus how they play on the road,

(03:11):
it is night and day. Last year was an aberration
for them at home, But before that, remember they had
had that stretch where they had that long home winning streak.
Dak is a different quarterback and now he's been good
all year. They played differently at home, and so if
you look at their wins and their losses, so they're
two to zero to one at home with a tie
to the Packers. Right, there's really only one game that

(03:34):
they weren't in, and that was the Bears game.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
The Eagles game was kind of weird.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
And that was by the way, that was their best
defensive performance since the second half of the Eagles game. Really,
if you look at it, the defense is gonna have
problems wherever they play. They played great yesterday, and I
think that has more to do with the injuries for
Washington and them adjusting their game plan to account for
that and selling out on the run and actually stopping
the run. But I think that we're going to see

(04:00):
for the remainder of the year, they're going to be
a far superior team at home than they are on
the road.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
I agree with the largely all of that.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Here's where And I promise I'm not being a hater
because that was an awesome win, but I do. I
just I'm trying to like put myself and I can't
forget what happened last week in Carolina, and you're trying
to put myself in that place because that was a
real thing. So there are twelve teams in the NFC
that have a better record than Washington right now. Yeah,

(04:29):
no Debo and no Terry McLaurin. Like we talked about,
they're bringing guys off to Robbie Chosen who used to
be Robbie Anderson was getting plays in there.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
He's the sir per guy, all right.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I just think Washington's not very good. Also, only one
half of Jade and Daniels. Yeah, it's like, why you
should get credit for anything that happened yesterday. I'm kind
of like Washington's just not there this year. There's some
that big regressions happen. We kind of talked about, and
I've seen this with quarterbacks having sophomore slumps too, Like
that's been a real big thing. CJ.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Stroud is dealing with that.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
So I don't think that was like beating a team
that went to the NFC Championship game last year, right, right,
So let's keep this going.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
It's like beating the Jets. Let's keep this conversation going.
We're a couple minutes away.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Let's talk about not only the rest of the season,
but let's talk about let's look at a crystal ball.
Let's look at the twenty twenty six Dallas Cowboys. We'll
keep this conversation.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Going next before Ben and Skin Show ninety seven point one.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
The Eagle, Thanks for hanging out with us today.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Bad things are happening on air flights, and we'll talk
about it in the news quickie at the bottom of
the hour, But we're continuing our conversation about the Cowboys
dominant win forty four to twenty two over the Washington
Redskin Commanders. And it was one of those things where
you know, in the last segment we're talking about the
fact that Washington's got his problems, got injury problems, they're
not playing well. But also, I don't know how you

(05:51):
guys felt in the first half, even though a lot
of good things are happening for the Cowboys, I was
stressed out that they were getting so many stops against
washing Is Washington and we weren't building up a big lead.
And it wasn't really until a two play drive for
the Cowboys at the end of the half that I
was like, Okay, now I feel differently, cause if they

(06:14):
don't have those two huge offensive plays and score a
touchdown there. Remember Washington, you know, Washington's going to get
the ball to start the half, and you don't realize
Washington's not going to do anything with it. But you
start thinking about, man, you had that incredible half defensively,
and now you're going to start the second half and
Washington's going to have one drive and be within three

(06:34):
points or whatever, and it just didn't happen. Those two
huge offensive plays to end the half. That to me
is what really like put the stamp on this game.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yeah, and then going back to the mirage thing KT
was talking about, it did feel like fool's gold a
couple times because there were you know, Washington receivers wide
open and the ball didn't get to them. I mean,
there was some couple things that happened or drops where
you're like.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Oh, okay, that's it.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Okay, so we're getting some breaks today. But you know,
it's so hard to project forward on what is going
to happen in the NFL because there is just so
much freaking parody. But they won a game they were
supposed to win, and they won it handily and they
drummed the Commanders, so you gotta feel good about it.

(07:22):
But I'm I also understand what Kat is saying because
it was just a week ago that they lost to
one of the worst teams in the history of football.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, I think that's I mean, what's going on in
Washington whatever, You still play the I'm like, you're playing
them again on Christmas Day, so you know, go beat
them again and then throw it all out the window.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
The week of Thanksgiving is where it's at.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Yeah, that's gonna be Sunday game against Philly, Thursday game
against Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
A lot of stuff. That's a huge that's a huge week.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
The other thing that we've talked a lot about George Pickens.
So you know, if you're just moving the clock forward
to twenty twenty six as we speak right now, George
Pickens and Javonte Williams are not on the team. They
are machinations that you can put into place and all
that stuff. Javonte Williams right now second in the league
in rushing yards, fourth in the league in rushing yards

(08:13):
per game, behind b Jhon Robinson, James Cook, and Jonathan Taylor.
He is, let's see, fourth in yards per carry. Like
he is a top you know, easily a top six
running back. In football this year has lost do with
the offense and all that stuff. Probably you got him
for one year, three million dollars. He got I just

(08:36):
like he gone, And maybe that's the whole thing. Maybe
his case is he's made a case for himself that
hurts him. The fact that we got you for one
year and three million dollars means we'll probably try it again.
But if you sign Pickings, you could entertain franchising Javonte Williams.
And running back is a position that I'm interested in
franchising because he's still young. He's a baby, right, So

(08:59):
I watch him and I'm like, he's just Josh Jacobs.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
It's the same guy.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
So I've I think he's great, and you could talk
me into that strategy and the idea of I'm I'm
all in on franchise franchising running backs, no problem.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
And signed George Picks.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah, they are again not paying any attention to the defense, right,
But if you use all your draft picks on defense,
I mean, that's what's gonna make your defense better long term. Anyways,
if you draft a defensive lineman from Michigan, I mean
I was thinking about this, I was thinking about Okay,
their offense is set.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
It's humming obviously, you know, not for next year.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
But I feel like if you have this ridiculous passing
game and you're bringing back pickings, I feel like you
can draft a running back or go sign another Javonte Williams.
I don't think you need to overpay for Javonte Williams. No,
but I was thinking about what their needs are. They
need a dominant edge rusher, they need probably two linebackers.
They need probably two new safeties and one to two corners.

(09:57):
So I mean they need six to seven guys on
the defensive side.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Was that Bill Bates white boy linebacker back yesterday?

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Bill Bates a linebacker? Oh Sanborn?

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah? No, No, I don't think when does he come back,
because that's Emi Flewes his guy.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
It'd be nice if he's just you know, taking his
time getting back.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
I mean, over shown, Overshown will help a lot.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Overshown will probably be their best defensive player.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
The same guy we're looking at November seventeenth. For him,
ye coming off of fully shattered knee and we're asking
him to be one hundred percent like a second fully
shattered knee.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
But if you're not, if you're not drafting best available
player and you're just going unless the draft is right
now and you're drafting your top three picks to address
needs on defense, what positions are they?

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Well, okay, okay, this isn't a question asking.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
I was going to say, I've been thinking draft the
top three best defensive players available any position because of
exactly what you just lined out right, And honestly, even
if you traded back to get more picks would be okay.
I mean, you need so many reinsforcements.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yes, they need a corner.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
They need a free safety, they need another linebacker, they
need another defensive tackle, and they need another defensive defensive
or two. Y'all feel que You can feel pretty good
about him? Yeah, really good. Yes, sucks he's out.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Not that he's going to be back next year. But
what a game by Clowney. Yeah, he was ever. I
forgot he was on the team. He was so good yesterday. No,
that was pretty awesome. It was fun, man, It was
fun to feel like that.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Yeah, fun to get a dub for sure. All right,
coming up next, KT, where you gonna take some of
the news.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Quikie, oh boy. Another terrible story from the world of
flight
