“What if the song you’ve loved for years was secretly written by Luke Bryan?”
That’s the kind of existential crisis Ben, Skin, KT, and Krystina tackle in this wildly entertaining episode of The Ben and Skin Show—where movie talk turns philosophical, and a random dog with giant balls becomes a show mascot. This episode kicks off with a hilarious and chaotic scene at the park, setting the tone for a rollercoaster of commentary. The crew dives deep into the Sicario film franchise, celebrating its gritty brilliance while roasting Taylor Sheridan’s tendency to write himself as the ultimate cowboy heartthrob. Ben passionately defends the original Sicario as “legit awesome,” while Skin imagines himself in assless chaps, starring in his own wilderness drama.

on the dock. And got a habit for my house
a gop status Howard starting kid craddic show that up

(00:35):
multiplied like a rabbit tune in some out break.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
It up beat the habit.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I want to hang out with my friend buck it
on the radio.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
My talking on the radio.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
It's time to do this fall in all the kati.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Yes, Hello and welcome everybody. It's the world famous Ben
and Skin Show. I'm Ben Rogers, joined by Jeff skin Wade, Hello,
Kevin k T. Turner, Hi and Christina care little baby
corn bread, Ray oh La enjoy vote mil pizza.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
We got a lot to get into today. It's gonna
be a great show. I know.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
I was in the pre show meeting and we got
a lot of good stuff there. Cussing the cowboys today
at five o'clock. ESPN has ranked the coaching staff throughout
the NFL. Where do the Cowboys coaching staff or where
did the Cowboys coaches rank in that ranking? We'll get
into that. We got some awkward moment audio coming your way.

(01:43):
We got a news quickie, we got wildlife news, a
local man killed by buffalo, fun times for the disabled.
All that's coming up coming up here momentarily in the show.
But before we get going, I want to say one
of my favorite movies is Scario.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Oh dude, the original.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I haven't seen the second one, but the first one
was badass. The second one it was awesome as well.
Twenty eighteen. Cicario came out in twenty fifteen. Do you
know what that means in Spanish? I thought it was
the name of the dude?

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Was it?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I thought?

Speaker 4 (02:15):
I think it means like a drug overlord or something.
I think it means something.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I think like my yah, internet is hit man, Hitman?

Speaker 5 (02:22):
Oh gotcha?

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I Knoworo means delicious tequila.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
That's a different movie. It's a totally different movie.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Bought a fun fact a all the same Cicario twenty fifteen,
Cicario Day of the Solidad twenty eighteen, sol Soldado, I'm sorry,
not Solidad Soldado. What a soldado solo dad is when
it's a divorce father, it's by himself.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
And then we looked, Katie, did you figure out Soldado?

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Yeah? I like that's soldier.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Oh did you say some.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Finger sun, finger, soul and finger. Yeah it is true.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Okay, correct interpretation, Sorry Katie.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Now Solidad is loneliness, but Soldado is a soldier. And
there was a Today Show anchor back in the day
Solidad O'Brien I a female.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I think there's pro a product called Solidad too, like
a like a.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Brand or something. I don't know. Well, this is pretty
exciting because there's been rumors about this, but now it's
looking like it is happening for sure, because there's a
trailer has been released for Ccario three finally coming out
with a third one again twenty fifteen, twenty eighteen, and
then it's gone dark and Ccario three with Josh Brolin

(03:43):
and Emily Blunt. It looks like it's going to happen
in twenty twenty five. Of course, Benicio del Toro is
also in that. He's phenomenal, he's awesome, he's so good
in this and this is just been one of my favorite. Like,
anytime I stumble across either of these movies Ciccario or
Day of the Soldado, I'll watch them.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
I think they're really good.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
The Cario, the initial one is a little bit better
than the second one, Okay.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
And I know that it was nominated for Best Cinematography.
It might have won, but I believe it was this guy,
Roger Deakins, who is a legendary cinematographer, has done a
bunch of movies that you've seen that you love. He's
like one of the most decorated guys ever.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Well, it's like if if I like, who's your least
favorite musician or or artist or singer, Like, who's somebody
that you're like, Man, that's really bad? Will Smith.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
No, that's one of those Luke Bryan types. Okay, Luke Bryan,
Yeah for me?

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Okay, So what have you found out that a song
you've been listening to for years that you loved is
actually Luke Bryan?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (04:45):
I would expect it, man.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
I mean the only think Ario Speedwagon, Like what if
Kashmir was actually Ario Speedwagon?

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Kevin, I would a hole and die?

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Well, we get ai to have Ario spe I would
immediately start drowning people in the nearest pond. I would
take it out on others. Well.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
The ten year old action film Sacario still has a
ninety two Rotten Tomato score, which it is beloved. Like,
people freaking love this, and I just noticed I had
no idea. Taylor Sheridan wrote it, all right, did he

(05:29):
really the man man badass? Wow, the Yellowstone King.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
That's tainted for me, Jerry's right hand man making all
the moves.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
It's just she liked a lot of his stuff.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Some of it's good, but it's cheesy and over the top,
like I enjoy, Like I'm able to enjoy things you
guys can't. Like I can go enjoy things that are
wildly commercial or cheesy or corny and just keep it
in that lane. Uh, And that's what that stuff is.
It's it's in lane unto itself. But to me, Cecario
was like in another lane. It was like, Okay, that

(06:04):
is legit awesome there, Like there's nothing about it that's
campy or you know what I mean, there's nothing cheesy
about it. And so it's disappointing to me. It taints
it now for me him like because his lane is
pretty cheesy.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
But that's also you know, think about when that happened.
But that's also going to come down. The author of
the film is the director. So I don't know who
directed Sacario, but like there's like Quentin Tarantino. Here's a
good example. You guys seen a million Tarantino movies. Well
before he became Tarantino, he wrote scripts. So he wrote
Natural Born Killers and he hates it because he hates

(06:39):
what Oliver Stone did to it.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
It's not what he envisioned.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
So the whole point is that the director got a
hold of this script and turned it into something badass.
He has a badass DP, he's got a badass cast, and.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
So you know, the source material is whatever it is.
And he's good at writing drama.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Yeah, he's good at writing drama, but so much of
it is like once he started writing himself into it,
it's where it really got bad for me. I'm going
to write myself into being the stud in this. I'm
just the stud guy who's like a wrangler out there.
All the chicks love me, all the guys want to
be me, and that's me. I'm going to do that
in my show that I'm in control of that. I'm
ratting you're right and what you just said. But if

(07:18):
I was Taylor Shardan, I would have done the exact
same thing. You would have gotten so much skin on camera,
would have been just out of control. Why is that
little scrawny guy a tough guy out on the wilderness.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
I'm a rubber model. I would have been a rubberts chaps. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Anyway, dam Elliott, looking at you, just disappointed, I'm still
I'm still excited about it. I I if you know.
I just think the cast is so good and the
other two mates have been great, so I got an
eye out for that. I gotta see that second one, dude.
I can't believe I've slept on that.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
I real quick. Dennis Villanueve was the director of the
twenty fifteen sitar Are Everyone, and he did a Rival
and then he moved down to Blade Runner twenty forty
nine that he did all the dunes.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
I think he's like the best guy going on of
the new guys.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
But Cecario two he did not take part in. And
I noticed that Zacario two day of the Soldado Solidad
was in the sixties. Yeah, Rotten Tomatoes not as not
as good.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Definitely not as good and not as celebrated, but still
I thought it was really good.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Just as director though. That's the thing.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
It totally makes sense.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Dennis Villanueva can take any tailor, shardan thing and make
it incredibly cool.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Uh huh.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
That guy's got an incredible toolkit man.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Who's going to direct the third one? Yeah, that's what
that's the big question here, right? And what is it called?

Speaker 3 (08:35):
I bet it ends up being Jason Gallagher, the guy
who does the Mind the Game podcast with Steve national
Lebron Jacks.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
I could see that Ccario the Final Cigar, Final Cigar.
That's a pretty good title. You can't lie.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
All right, We're off and running and doing it in fine,
fine fashion. Hey, you're listening to the dumbest show in America.
Congratulations to you. That says more about you.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Hold on, I said to stop. You've been Ccario posts.
This is what it's gonna be. So it's gonna be
about that little thing that you add to your guitar
and butt at the end of the post.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
I'm more of a parish guy. But yeah, I understand
what they're doing.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
I understand with you.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
But we we love them too. All right, coming up next, Skin,
We're you gonna take some things. Skin is tracking.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Why does this situation always turn me into Larry David?
We experienced it yesterday and we'll talk about it next
