She was bitten by a rattlesnake last June.

I think it was a little bit surreal.

Dylan says it happened during a family trip to their
ranch in West Texas.
Speaker 7 (02:51):
They were throwing rocks in the pond and she was
standing right next to me, and as she reached down
to pick up a rock, apparently there was a rattlesnake
tucked under a leaf, and as she reached down to
pick it up, the rattlesnake bit her on top of
her hands.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
She says.

They rushed back to his truck more than a mile away,
then sped to the nearest hospital.

About halfway back to the to our vehicle, she kind
of started to pass out a little bit, started to
lose consciousness.

Sadie received a round of anti venom. She was flown
to a hospital in Lubbock, where doctors performed emergency surgery
because of the swelling.

We spent about eight days in the pediatric ICU.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Sadie has been rebuilding her strength all right, so's she's
good now, but she still has to go to like
rehab to get strength back her in her hand before
she got bit.

Bending down and there it is. I mean, I think
about this all the time because my you know, my
parents have some land and then my brother's three girls
who just run around, and dude, they will just run around.
And you know, the kids are crazy. They'll touch anything,

And there's a rock here, let's throw it at something.
You know, they just don't and snake just be there.
Freaks me out. But uh, sounds like she's doing good.

I don't even want to ask what the doctor's bill
was there, Oh, my good god.

And they probably had a copter for like a flight
care situation.

Yeah, and he had to sprint a mile carrying or
sprint a mile to the truck, then speed to the
emergency room, and then eventually like get lucky that they
have any type of ANTIV in him there, right, and
then care flight to Lubbock where they were at the time.

So I bet every rural hospital or emergency care has
rattlesnake venom.

They have to.

They've been right in Texas and.

These hospitals are shutting down right now though. Dude, all right,
you're right, like which, well, there's there's uh, I mean
a lot and it's not across the board here, but
in a lot of small towns like, for instance, only
where I live or where my parents live. The closest
big hospital is forty five minutes away. The local hospital

is still up and running, but there's fears that it
won't be in five years because there's been a lot
of defunding going on for small towns. Yeah, it's gonna
be a problem. Uh, you guys have been home Goods.

I feel like multiple times, our good friend Jared Sandler,
multiple times I run in to his wife's grandma at
home Goods. Oh, Nana, Nana, It's happened multiple times. Swear
to God, and she's in the wildlife or what she's
just walking across. Well, this guy was at Home Goods
and this happened to him. He's talking from the hospital bed.

Well currently in the e R. Yeah, all I do.
I just want to go pick up a mug just
to be funny. It's a literal bat bro I just
got scratched by that bat scratched him at Home Goods.
And a bat scratched him in a home Goods.
