Speaker 1 (00:08):
Nice to you and put advice and you welcome to.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
The love Shack.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Lady life can get crazy. You need two Sexpert's rowinghouse says, let.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Me handle the problems for your house. For the number
one free app in the Apple Store last week was
an app called t like Tea that you would sip, Oh,
it is a and I had not noted that this.
They're in the news because they they had a little
data breach. Much of stuff got hacked. But it is
(00:41):
a women only safety app made to help protect women
on dates. But it's really kind of turned into a
platform where it's just women gossiping about men. Here's how
it works. So when a woman opens the app, Christina
will say you opened it up just hypothetically. In this world,
they're presented with local men whose photos have been uploaded
(01:02):
with their first names okay. For each of the men,
women can report on the app whether they deem him
a red flag or a green flag okay, and then
they leave comments about him. Usually these comments or someone
either vouching for the guy as a friend. Oh it's
a great guy I know him, or it's someone giving
(01:22):
a negative experience. All I took this guy out, or
this guy took me out a date and it got
a little creepy at the end, or you know he
only wanted sex. You know whatever. It is so already
feels a little bit messed up.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
No, it doesn't. Well, like you could also call a
guy out, like, hey, he gave me an us too.
Do you don't sleep at this guy?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
You know, you're right, and it's being used for good.
It's a great idea.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
And also like, man, I'm so glad I don't have
to worry about dating apps and all that anymore, because
that was always a pain. And it's kind of creepy
because you are meeting up with these strangers you haven't
met in real life, just trusting that they're good people.
And so this is awesome.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, so te So it's gossip. So it turns out,
I mean, what percentage of dates or relationships that go
wrong leave people with a happy taste in their mouth
in other words, or satisfied like okay, let's say say
that raising okay for me for me in the day
(02:25):
about zero? I mean I would say one hundred percent
or no, I say ninety nine percent of relationships end
horribly to where there is a massive acts to grind,
like there is some bitterness and anger and when is
somebody gonna go, yeah, he dumped me, what a great guy.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Well there's levels to this, though, You're right, but there's
levels to this because not all of those, not ninety
nine percent of those end up in dismembered bodies. Like
that's what to me, it's a safety app But hold on,
part of the dating game is you signed up for
the dating game. Things aren't gonna go great, right, things
like it's not always gonna end up for but like
what you're not signing up for is to be kidnapped
(03:05):
or murder.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
But that doesn't sound like safety tea is gossip. Yeah,
they're saying that's what the phrase means. That's what in
this article from NBC News, a lot of the you know,
plenty of women commenting on this is like it could
be good if it was used properly, but it's not
being used properly. It's being used because it just leads
into he's got a small one, okay, but.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Also yeah, it could help out, like he could be
sleeping with someone without you knowing he's sleeping with someone else.
But I didn't want to say this. Ben. Like Yelp reviews,
you can't control if someone leaves a bad Yelp review.
Either it's right, probably the same thing.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
But I feel like there's some things. There's some things
people are more irrational about, Like parents are incredibly irrational
about their kids. And I think people are irrational about
their feelings, like you could get dumped and it could
be my fault or your fault, you know what I mean.
But most people are irrational with their hindsight. They think
(03:57):
they were great in the relationship and the other person
did everything wrong. And so if you're just telling me,
it's an aggregator to go crap on people. Look, if
it's a safety issue, that's great. If this guy's a
creep man, be careful, give him a wide berth. This guy,
this guy's got herpies, whatever, whatever it is, that's great,
get that out there. But if it's just gossiping about
(04:19):
I don't know. Most people are going to be dissatisfied
with their broken relationship.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
If you've got friends to back you up, if you're
truly a good guy, you should be fine.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
You should be fine. They also like the app was
created by a man. The guy said he was inspired
because his mom, I guess, is getting back in the
dating pool, and he saw that she had a just
a rough go of it with online dating. So he
was like, his mom apparently got catfished and she was
unknowingly dating men with criminal records and things like that.
(04:49):
So he's like, Okay, there's got to be a better way,
So he created this this app. So like the idea
of it is good, yeah, like inherently good. But just
what we can't handle as a society is it spins
off to people talking about each other, right, we just
can't help it, and I uh, you know, and then
(05:10):
they got hacked in like seventy two thousand images we're
accessed and potentially leaked and all that stuff. So that's
a big problem. But that was the number one free
app in the Apple app Store last week and I
had never heard of it until now.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
But so it was just men. You couldn't look up
women too.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
And yeah, maybe they're gonna do one called Juice, which
is like it's a it's the men looking for like
does this woman have a criminal history?
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, right, Like they guys like hot mug shots are
like great, then no problem. All right, there you have it,
the love Shack. It just took some sexperts to set
that straight. Coming up next, it's the Today Game. You
don't want to miss it. It won't be podcasted. That's
coming your way next, followed by a news quickie This
shocking DFW situation. Shocking DFW ties to a popular magazine cover.
(06:00):
That story is coming up. It's all next
