(00:20):

fourteen and a half in reference to it was in
the Love Shack. You tell us leave your name, your
phone number, your email address. You're gonna win that Ranger
four pack. We'll have another one tomorrow to give away
as well. Right now, it's time for this.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Kill that.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Awkward after what you just said.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
If someone needed a clue as to what that answer was,
there you go. So last night, Big Deal, Taylor Swift
was on the Kelsey Brothers podcast New Heights Podcast. I
told you guys about this earlier in the week that
she was gonna be on this thing, and I pulled
a few of my favorite clips from this because yes
I did watch it. I didn't watch the entire thing,
(01:05):
but about i'd say, about thirty minutes into it, I
heard it in the other room. Apparently Sir Roy remembered
that was on and he decided to turn it on,
and I went in there and watched, and then Skin,
I'm sure you watched the whole thing as well.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Oh, I tell y'all real quickly how we experienced this.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Okay, So, first of all, two nights ago, my wife
was frantically looking around, didn't know how to watch it,
had never watched the Kelsey Brothers, didn't know how to
get it.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Just I've got to watch this.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I know there's a tailor announcement, couldn't find it, and
I was like, honey, it's not Wednesday, it's Tuesdays.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
It was a crap.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
So then she knew, okay, seven o'clock on Wednesday, we're
gonna watch this thing. We sat down for dinner and
we were fifteen minutes into dinner and then she fired
it up on her phone. It was just me and
her eating dinner at the kitchen table, and she was like,
can I not go back and watch it from the beginning?
And I was like, I don't know, and so she
was like, all right, I give up. I'll just figure
(01:58):
it out later. So we jumped in about twenty minutes
into the thing, basically right before she did her big
album announcement.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah, okay, so that's probably when I.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Hopped on and stary wars.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Okay, all right, so I would say, before I play
the few clips I have, I will say the main
reason she was on here was to announce the new
album that she has coming out, the Life of a Showgirl.
It's coming out October third, ten plus three thirteen. But like,
I've never seen a long interview with her like this before.
(02:29):
I don't know if she's done one before. I've seen
little clips here and there. I've watched a documentary of hers,
but that's about it. So I was very intrigued at
how thoughtful she was with her answers, Like this was
an hour and a half long. Twelve million views by
the way on YouTube. I'm sure it's gonna increase, but anyway,
so yeah, her answers were very thoughtful. And also she's
(02:52):
really funny. Yeah, It's like, man, I didn't realize how
funny she was.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
So I want to say the way I stumbled across it.
So I'm sitting there scrolling through social media, and I
see Jason Kelsey, right, Travis's brother. Yeah, say, this thing's
already got two million people watching, like omg, like he
was freaking out. And then obviously it got bigger and
bigger and bigger, and so I was like, oh, yeah,
I forgot that's on. So I went and tuned into it,
and I was like, it is really bizarre seeing her
(03:17):
do something. It's it's she's like royalty, right, It's like
I imagine that's what it's like for English people to
see like a prince and princess or something.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
It's like she's so she's Royalty's she's, you know, this
massive superstar and she's not really accessible all the time
on this type of level. So I was mesmerized by
it and then gave up on it after thirty seconds.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Okay, all right, so that well, that's the other thing
I want to say is like I probably saw about
twenty five minutes of it, and then I went to
go do other stuff and my wife watched the rest
of it, and then went back and watched the beginning
of it. But I went read like a New York
Times art a recap of it, and a bunch of
stuff that I missed. But what struck me she did
(04:03):
all the talking she did, Like the part that I
saw it was two guys staring at or one guy
staring at her another guy on the other screen. She
probably talked ninety percent of the time. Now I'm not
saying that like in a bad way or that it
was annoying or whatever, but she was in charge. There
was zero doubt about that. She ran pretty much all
of it from from what I.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Saw she did, and I mean most of it was
about her. She went over everything about the Eras tour,
meeting Travis, all the all the things they go through. Anyway,
So I want to go back to me talking about
how she's actually funny. She's got jokes. So right off
the bat, she had this joke that I thought was hilarious.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
As we all know.
Speaker 5 (04:42):
You know, you guys have a lot of male sports
fans that listen to your podcast, and I think we
all know that if there's one thing that male sports
fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens,
it's more of me.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Okay, she's making fun of herself, She's making fun of
all the guys that come out through her all the time.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Even when she said it, I heard one of them
just make a meathead sound.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah, but what's funny too. I'm sorry, no, no, I.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Was just gonna say, Jason Kelsey's pretty eloquent and articulate. Yeah,
and Travis is likable. Yes, he seems like a likable dude.
But but you know, Jason's got a pretty good command
of communicating. From my perspective, at.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Least, I'm glad you said Travis is likable, because they
got into kind of how they met and how they
interact and everything, and Taylor was talking about how nice
he is, and she owned that she really knew nothing
about football, and she gets into this this scenario, this
question she brought up to Travis on one of their
first dates, and it just didn't make football sense, and
(05:46):
so she makes fun of herself.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
And where it is.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Jason, on our first date, I legitimately asked him what
it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in
the Super Bowl, and he looked across the field, across
the line of scrimmage and saw his They're standing on
the other like five ft in front of him on
the field, and he was like he was and he
didn't even he didn't even look at me like, I
(06:10):
now know what an insane question that was. He was like, actually,
I'm on the offense and my brother's on the offense,
and I'm only on the field at the same time
as the defense. I thought everyone was on there the
same time.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
So I just thought that was really funny. And then
she did go into more like football terms and all
these things that she knows now, like she genuinely loves
watching the game and learning about the game. I thought
that was really cool. And again she's throwing stuff out
like I don't even know. It's like, what did you
just say? And I've been watching football? How long? Banks Cowboys?
Speaker 5 (06:43):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I didn't realize too. Maybe you guys did, but I
guess just time flies so fast. I didn't realize they've
been together a while. Yeah, she's been to a Super
Bowl win and a Super Bowl loss with him.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
You know, it's for three years.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
I think it was the twenty They got together midway
through the twenty two twenty three seasons.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Okay, that sounds about that sounds right, Yeah, but you
can tell how comfortable that she's not only with Travis,
but with Jason as well, Like she's clearly been around
these guys for a long time and it's talking to
them like they're just old friends. And so this last
clip I have for you, So they got into all
the attention that they deal with social media attention, and
(07:22):
I thought Taylor had a great answer on just like
handling the negative comments and the trolls out there.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
So many like friends or acquaintances or people were like
they'll see one comment they don't like, right, and it
will ruin their day, it'll ruin their night, Like and
I just want to say to them, like you should
think of your energy as if it's expensive, as if
it's like a luxury item. Not everyone can afford it,
Like not everyone has invested in you in order to
(07:50):
be able to have the capital for you to care
about this, because like what you spend your energy on.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
That's the day. And it's sure doesn't right, Like it doesn't.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Matter where you were, Like maybe you went to we'll
get coffee today, maybe you saw friends today. If you
were obsessing over one thing that you saw, like you
literally like saw some guy call you mid and you.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Can't stop.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
You can't stop thinking about it, dude, that's the day
then that's the night then, and so I just I've
been able to sort of mediate a really healthy relationship
with not seeing a whole lot.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yeah, so she just stays off social media. She mentioned
she doesn't look like she doesn't look at her DMS
at all. She's got her comments on Instagram just turned off.
She's hadn't turned off for years now. I thought it
was great. It's good.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yeah, good approach.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Hearing her talk too, it's almost like sounds like her
lyrics are seven Like she talks like she sings kind of.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
There was one thing that I really enjoyed about the
part that I saw is Travis seemed to be like
really excited to let the audience know that he heard
the record and knew everything that was on it. Really yeah,
he was doing the whole oh yeah, yeah, yeah about that.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
You guys are gonna like this. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Oh and the whole thing is like their old dance bangers,
like it's a pop Like he seemed to like, you
know the kind of thing like he had something that
everybody wanted and he had it and he was really
proud of that.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
I wanted everybody know he knew all about the record.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
And she was playing me the songs, and I don't know,
he just seems so genuinely excited to kind of be
a part of it. Because one of the things she
said too is like, you know, I don't know how
much y'all know about Taylor Swift, but her last record,
well it was the guy that there's a band I'm
really into called The National and they're sad dad rock,
like that's what, and so they produced her last stuff
(09:37):
and so if you listen to it, it's the music
sounds like The National, And so some of her old
time fans were like, well, it doesn't have the pop
charm to it and all the stuff I like and
blah blah blah. And she was talking about, well, this
record is upbeat and fun and it's a reflection of
what my life is now.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Oh so she okay, so she was kind of down,
but now she's happy having a blast or her music
gonna be.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
And Travis Kelsey's just sitting there smiling right like, yeah, yeah,
I mean it was it was a very uh you know,
I like Taylor Swift. I'm not I don't play her
stuff all the time. I like her. I probably like
her more because my wife and my daughter like her.
You know, swit's osmosis. But I like what the Kelsey
brothers do, and I liked seeing these two worlds smash together.
(10:22):
I thought it was really at least the part I saw.
I doubt I would have watched an hour and forty minutes,
but I.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Just watched more than I'd like to admit it.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
It was fun, it was engaging. Man, it was pretty good.
That's pretty good, all right, that's gonna do it for us.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
I'll never forget the time Kat was trapped in an
elevator with Taylor Swift.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
He looked her dead in the eye and he said,
eyes on the prize. Where you're going, don't worry about people.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Around you, head on a swivel, but also don't worry
or interact with people around you. And she then took
that to social media and her life is better for it.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Christina, you want to play some music till ten o'clock?
Speaker 5 (10:56):
I do.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Christina's next here on the Eagle. Here you're going, you know,
I want to get my sack backed. Dude, you all right,
