"What happens when grief, truth, and a Guinness collide at one of the most public funerals in American history?"In this emotionally charged and unexpectedly hilarious episode of The Ben and Skin Show, hosts Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray unpack the raw, unforgettable moment from Pat Tillman’s funeral, where his brother Richard Tillman shattered expectations with a brutally honest tribute that still echoes nearly two decades later. But this isn’t just a somber reflection—it’s a wild ride through AI-generated intros, climate tangents, and the mystery of why old people flock to Arizona. KT kicks things off with a new “News Quickie” intro that sounds suspiciously like Dave Grohl, prompting the crew to question whether AI is finally doing something right (spoiler: it’s not).

Speaker 1 (00:05):
When it comes to the news, he gotta be extra picky.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
While you need is the news, Nicky.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Christina Bedskin and Kats he have you news quickie.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
All right?

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Who know who did that?

Speaker 2 (00:25):
That's great?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Was that?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Ai?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah? I commissioned Dave Grohl to do this that Ai. No, Hey,
I didn't do anything right the story here today. We
have to go back in the past. Hey, Gronk does
a I do anything right? Don't ask Gronk stuff. He's
just doing podcasts with Littleman. So Richard Tillman is the
brother of Pat Tillman, and there's a clip that comes

(00:48):
from Pat Tillman's brother. If you don't know Pat Tillman,
Pat Tillman is he was a player for the Cardinals
and then he left in four motivated by nine to
eleven to go to the military. More on that in
a second. So he dies overseas and they have a
big funeral back in America, and this clip is circulated
for years and I crack up at it, even though
it's heavy. John McCain, you're gonna hear, You're gonna hear

(01:11):
Maria Shriver, Okay, And they're making you know, they're having
a big diferent tons of people wanted this. America was
really captivated by this story. And then his brother, Richard Tillman,
goes up in a white T shirt and a full
can of I mean a full glass of guinness and
then kind of turns the whole thing on its side.

(01:32):
And there's a whole documentary made about this funeral too.
So here is the clip from the past.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
And you will see him again when a loving God
reunite us all.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Pat, your family doesn't have to worry anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
I mean, you've got a brother coming up there, somebody
who's willing to speak the brutality of that reality for them.
I didn't write because I'm not a writer. There's a
lot of people here. Thanks. Thanks, It was really amazing
to be his, uh little baby brother.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
I'm not just gonna sit up here and break down
on you, but uh, thanks for coming. Pat's champion. Uh
just make no mistake. He want me to say this.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
He's not with God.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
He's dead.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
He's not religious. So oh, thanks for your thoughts, but
he's dead. I don't regret any of that. I was
just simply miserable. I was sad for my my whole family.
I was sad for my mom, my dad, Marie Kevin.
This isn't a production, it's my brother's service. I didn't
plan on saying that. It just uh, he's not what

(02:34):
these people wish to He was to everyone grabbed a
Pat's death.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Okay, said, that's a little heavy when you said the video.
I've always laughed at it every time I watch it, though,
because he's just like to say it, and it's even
harsher when it's not bleeped out like that.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
He felt like people were exploiting what his brother didn't believe.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Oh absolutely, and he was taking up for his mom
and dad too felt that too, right. So when I
saw that Richard Tillman did something, I was like, let's
see what's going on here. I haven't heard of him
in a while.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
This morning, police investigating whether a man intentionally drove into
this post office in San Jose, California, igniting a massive fire.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
But it does not look like an accident so far.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Police arresting Richard Tillman in connection with the crash. He's
the younger brother of Patrick Tillman, who famously gave up
his NFL career in wake of nine to eleven to
serve in the Army. Pat was killed in Afghanistan in
two thousand and four and what was later revealed to
be a friendly fire incident.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
When we went outside, there was a man standing in
the parking lot with a bunch of belongings.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
A photo of Pat Tillman could be seen inside a
box left on the sidewalk at the crash site. Authorities
say the suspect also likely tagged this graffiti on the
side of the post office. The message unclear.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Okay, the message said Viva la me.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
No one was hurt.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Richard Tillman is now in custody, held with al bail.
He's doing court on Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Man, that's sad.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
It's sad, very very sad. And then the whole idea
that he brought his belongings with him he had been
living in his car. Oh yeah, that is hardcore.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Not great, not great. But it was an excuse to
play the audio from Pat Tillman's funeral. That should probably
I should probably grow up and let that go, right.
Why have I gotten so much joy out of that
over all these years? That say something about me?

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah, it seems like a very joyless clip.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
No, it's funny, is it?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Dude?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
To go up in front of everyone when dude, and
never one knew John McCain wasn't though forre and Arnold
Schwartzeneaker's wife to go after follow them up and then
go it's not religious.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
What does this have to do with the climate, that's
the question. It's very hot in Arizona, Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
From what I understand, Pat Tillman was inspired by nine
to eleven and climate change. Weird that all to leave
the NFL.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
We did.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Old people move to Arizona so much too, because when
you get old you just turn into a lizard person anyway,
but like to go to Arizona just.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Gets so hot. I think it's the cost of living though, right.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Old people go where the cost of living is better,
and it's you know, there's a lot of bathing suits
and stuff, and it's you know, old people just are
looking for that.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Actually they need some blood flow.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
All right.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Fantastic work, well, mediocre work, pretty good work, Kevin. There's
the news quickie. I love that new intro. It's incredible.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Thanks.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Coming up next in just over three minutes, is this
the greatest pro in DFW sports history. We'll have that conversation.
Don't go on there, it's just three minutes away. Next
on the Eagle
