"Why do they always include the middle name when someone does something terrible?"That’s the question that kicks off this gripping and emotionally charged episode of The Ben and Skin Show, where hosts Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray dive headfirst into one of the most shocking stories of the week: a tragic shooting at 345 Park Avenue—home to the NFL offices.Skin shares a surreal moment from his recent trip to New York, revealing he was just blocks away from the chaos. The team unpacks the disturbing details surrounding Shane Devon Tamura, a 27-year-old Nevada man with a history of mental illness who claimed in a note that his struggles were linked to CTE from playing football. The conversation turns raw and reflective as the crew discusses the implications of mental health, football’s long-term effects, and the haunting legacy of players like Junior Seau. But it wouldn’t be The Ben and Skin Show without some levity. From KT’s hilarious reaction to his middle name being exposed—“Is your middle name Ryan?” “Yeah.” “Oh no. You don’t say that. I’ll dump it!”—to Skin’s deadpan delivery of “Not like a lady from olden times daylight,” the episode is packed with laugh-out-loud moments that balance the heavy with the hilarious.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Are you excited?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Did featuring veteran news anchor kt fun tweets another weird
when this happening. This is happening towards the end of
our show again yesterday and right around the time everyone
was talking about the Tyler guiton kneebone ACL fracture tear.
This is in New York And I immediately thought of
you when I saw the news, because I knew you

(00:26):
were in New York.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
We were not far from We were staying not far
from where Ald this happened. Now, we weren't particularly close,
but I didn't know about it until we got on
the plane. Yeah, Like we had been at the airport
for an hour or two by the time any.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Of this had actually happened. Yeah, this is about five
thirty ish Central time. And then by the time I
was getting reported it was you know, our show was
basically over. Yeah. So a twenty seven year old guy
from Nevada named Shane Tamurra. How come every time someone
does something bad they put their middle name in it,
Shane Devon tomurraw.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Because they were the other guy named Shane Tamura, whose
middle name is not Devona. It's like, hold on, hold on, a.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Lot of Kevin Turner's out there. Do you guys need
to mind your p's and q's better. I'm not gonna
get dragged down by yours. Shenanigans is your middle name?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Ryan? Yeah, oh no, no, you don't say that.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I'll do it. I'll dump it. Yeah, it is right. So,
twenty seven year old Nevada man, he's walking into a
building on Park Avenue, all right, three forty five Park Avenue,
which we later find out is where the NFL offices are.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Wow. Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
And he walks in and if you see the image
of him walking in, it looks like Eric Andre walking
into a place with an AR fifteen.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
He that gun looks ferocious, just the still image. Yeah,
it's it's pretty crazy looking. So he goes and it's
broad daylight. Yeah yeah, not like it not like a
lady from olden times daylight. Just so I'm saying it's
daylight now for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Now they said that he had recently drove across the
country from Nevada with documented mental health history, and then
he walked in and just started opening fire in the building.
And then he went into in that building. There's a
bunch of business in that building, which had people thinking,
there's the there's Blackstone, the investment firm. I believe there
was an American Bank branch and things like that. But

(02:16):
the NFL offices are in there. That's where a lot
of people are talking about it.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I mean, dude, I was on Park Avenue this weekend,
like it's a it's a hustle and bustle and no doubt.
I mean it's Manhattan, everything is. But it's a busy yeah. Yeah.
And do they have open carry there like I would?
I don't know. I don't know the answer. Seeing a
guy walking down the street with that would be terrified.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
What's aild about the security cam footage of him he's
just walking in? Is you're like, okay, well, how many
people are around there? And if there is no, one's
probably walking up to address the guy who yeah, just
walking in. That was huge. So he ended up taking
his own life on the thirty third floor, okay, and

(02:57):
the NFL offices were on sixth, seventh, and eighth. But
he he had left a note, apparently, and the note
had described a little bit of his time he had
played football growing up and claimed that he had cte
oh man. Yeah, he was voicing anger in the note
that his mental illness may be linked to having played football,

(03:18):
So he knew something was wrong with him, and you know,
I don't know if he if he didn't, I mean
his reported Roger Goodell's office is on the sixth floor,
so if he was going for the commissioner, I mean
he took his life on the thirty third floor. One
police officer dead and it was a guy. Oh my god,
this sucks. Two kids. His wife is eight months pregnant.

(03:41):
His name is I had it right there. His last
name was Eslam, I believe, yeah, or Islam right yeah,
dial Islam, yeah, yeah, thirty six years old. He was
off duty working a security job at the building.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yeh. I saw one report. I don't know if you
guys saw this, that there was one lady getting off
the elevator and he spared her life. Did y'all see that.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
I did not see that.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I mean yeah, but you see so much and you
don't even know what's verified anymore.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
And this is what's wild. His high school, like some
of his teammates in high school are quoted in this
NBC article and they're like, you have never thought violence
to be something he would have been associated with everything
he said was a joke, funny guy. They were like,
what are you kidding me? I mean ten years ago
when they went to high school with him.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
But it is very possible that it is ct There's
been like now I'm blanking on the name of the
very famous San Diego Charger linebacker that took his life.
Say Ao oh, Junior said, yeah, he had CTV right
and took his life.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Ah, man, I just it's horrible, horrible, horrible stories and
you just hate it for those folks affected by it.
All right, It is The Beninskin Show ninety seven point one,
The Eagle coming up next. It's a combination of sports
and food news. When you bring those two great tastes together, man,
you get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and we'll

(05:05):
make that in the Food News. That's next.
