"If your dog died… would you clone it for $50,000?"In this mind-bending and laugh-out-loud episode of The Ben and Skin Show, hosts Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray dive into one of the wildest celebrity stories of the year: Tom Brady cloned his beloved dog Lua—and the new pup, Juni, is the result of a high-tech Dallas-based company that’s also working on cloning mammoths and dire wolves.KT delivers the news with his signature flair in the Weekday Update, sparking a hilarious and philosophical debate: Is cloning your pet the ultimate tribute or just a creepy flex for the ultra-rich? The crew explores everything from the ethics of cloning to the absurdity of a $50,000 dog that “better poop gold nuggets.”

Speaker 1 (00:00):
And Skin Show ninety seven point one, The Eagle, the
October Bit, and Skin Show bloopers are coming up at
the bottom of the hour, but right now it's time
for this. Are you excited? Featuring veteran news anchor kt
fun tweets.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Tom Brady and his ex wife Giselle and their kids
had a dog named Loua, and Leua died in December
of twenty twenty three, but he then welcomed another dog
that was very similar looking, and we now know, thanks
to an article he did in People magazine, that he
cloned his old dog Loua, and now is a dog

(00:41):
named Juny that he cloned via a company that is
Dallas based, Oh, Colossal Biosciences, which Tom Brady is an
investor in.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Oh my god, come on, is this the same company
that's doing the mammoth the dire Wolves.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
That's what I was wondering.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
These are the people, Ah, let's go Yeah, let's the wolf,
me too.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
I didn't realize this was a thing you could do.
It looks like the cost of doing this is somewhere
between fifty grand and one hundred grand.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
He can't afford that he was.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Better off cloning a dog or just getting a new dog, Like,
what is the what is the upside of cloning the dog?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
So this is a thing in my opinion, based on
the price for really out of touch rich people to
do right. Like I think this is a thing for
Logan Miller's wife to talk about.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
We had to clone our dog. Nobody knows how hard
that is.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
So hard, that was fifty thousand I was going to
spend on a handbag.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
You're a great dog walker.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
But I think, like you know, for Tom, who obviously
doesn't have a soul, this is a great play because
it gets everybody talking about his investment.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah, you know, beautiful, this is what you do test
subject absolutely.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Now you'll remember only the sheep way back in the
day in Scotland. This is the same team of people
behind this company and he's a big investor in it.
And yeah, they're charging fifty thousand to clone dogs and cats,
eighty five thousand to clone horses and there's a wait
list of five to seven months.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
God, why don't we pull our money together and clone secretariat?

Speaker 4 (02:17):
This is an investment.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
This is heading towards humans cloning at some point, right
the idea.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Who's the guy?

Speaker 3 (02:25):
There's a Black Mayor episode about it.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Right, So at some point somebody sadly loses somebody who
they care about very much, and they've got a lot
of money.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Can you just clone them? Let's recreate him.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
People were asking, well, was Tom Brady wasting his time
calling NFL games? Well, because they're paying him about thirty
times more than market value to do.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
So how dost cloned games?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
And then he can now get to work on this
it's his new project and clone himself.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Dude, he can do that, he can do the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Hey, guys, I'm working this Cowboys Giants game, so I
can actually cloned one hundred and one Dalmatians.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Boy. I tell you what.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Something else is now coming full circle from uh for me.
There was a show on Netflix years ago and it
was to Paul Rudd's because Paul Rudd took place and
they cloned it. When he goes, look at us, you
can believe no, that was That was hot Ones.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
I know where you're I know where you're going with.
Tom Brady was in this and it was Robert Kraft.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
The Cone place is at a massage parlor and he
gets out of his car and Tom Brady is there
and it was like a little a little jab. Then meanwhile,
we do the roast of Tom Brady years later and
he's like, don't make jokes about that, and I'm like,
you might a joke about it on a Netflix show
with Paul Rudd, and that show is great. It was
eight episodes, but Paul Rudd gets mad because the new

(03:40):
Paul Rudd is hooking up with his wife.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
It's really great. That's it. That's excellent.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
It was a fun thing that only needed to be
eight episodes and could go away.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Should I'll go watch it. I'm good living with yourself,
I think so. Yeah, I've been doing well.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Do we know if this dog does it act exactly
like the other dog? Is it kind of awfu a
little bit because it's a clone?

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Like what I got? A little hinge of evil? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
The problem is that we're relying on Tom for this
information and he cannot be trusted. Well, I hate to
make you think along these lines, but sadness, you know,
sad thought, But what if you were to lose your
sweet dog, I know, just for the sake of this exercise,
would you rather get a new dog from scratch or
would you rather clone your existing dog?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
See.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
I think I've been thinking about it. He's ten years
old now, so it's oof.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
But I think it'd be too weird to clone him.
I just I look, that's weird.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
I can't imagine there being a fifty thousand dollars dog
out there someone's going after.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Show me right, this dog walk on water? Does it
sneak poop? Gold nugget? Right? What are we talking about here? Uh? Yeah,
I'm with you on that.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
And also, like your your dog and your relationship with
your dog, it's it's all these memories that you have
together and all these great things you've gone through. The
new dog shows up cloned without one of those memories,
it might not even like you.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yeah, yeah, hey dog, remember that time I took you
for that walk.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
No, I'm new, I'm dumb. I'm the Tom Brady dog.
What do you want from me?

Speaker 5 (05:11):
God?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
All right? There you have it.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
There's a weekly weekday update coming up next in the
audio bubble bath, the October bloopers from our show.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Don't miss it.
