Speaker 1 (00:00):
Cowboy surprised. First of all, injury round up, so already
with that Cooper BB already without Tyler Booker on the

(00:23):
offensive line does make you us feel good that Tyler
Guidan is in concussion protocol and Tyler Smith has hurt
as well, got a little knee injury, and he might not
play on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
All right, the backup Cowboys linemen have played well, really well,
so well in some cases you're like, Okay, should this
guy be starting? Obviously not in all cases, but man,
I have so much confidence in what the Cowboys are
doing on offense right now, like getting rid of the
ball quickly and so much motion and movement, and they're
confusing defenses that you know, I feel okay like in

(00:59):
that regard, Like all, I'm not even worried about the offense,
even with all these huge injuries on the offensive line.
I'm still one of my concern is on how bad
their defense is.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
You know, such a big part of how you're unless
you're just a badass team, such a big part of
your football season is gonna come down to when the
injuries strike you and who your opponent is, right like that,
A lot of that is luck of the draw. Can
you mitigate certain situations? Obviously a lot of times certain
guys go out, you can't. But I look at this

(01:31):
and I go, all right, if you're gonna have the
injuries they're having right now, let's have it against the Jets,
and let's have it against Carolina.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Panthers and for sure, yeah, and save your bye week
for later. I mean, there's a couple of teams have
bye weeks this week already, and they're probably like, damn,
I wish I had that in November.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Right, And again, that's all luck of the draw, because
it is, more than any other sport, a game of injury.
They all are, but this one in particular, the Jets,
even though they're zero to four, they create They're gonna
create some problems for the Cowboys because the Cowboys have
the worst defense in the NFL, and you've got a
running quarterback who can you know, and the Cowboys have

(02:07):
struggled with figuring out how to spy that.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
They make mediocre quarterbacks look like the best quarterbacks on earth.
They have a badass dominant number one receiver, and they
have a really good running back. So I think the
Cowboys are in some trouble this week.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I've I've got it marked down as a trap game
for sure. Coming off a tie, that feels like a win,
even though, oh, they were acting like it was a loss,
some of them, everyone besides Dak was acting like it
was a loss.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Jerry threw a parade.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yeah, Jerry and Dak were the ones who are acting
like a win because they probably, like I.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Told you, we didn't need maca, we tat him.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Also, Miles Sanders didn't practice yesterday, so it might be
our Jaden Blue game. I would call it a big
time Jaden Blue warning sign. If the Cowboys just signed
some running back off the scrap heave and make him
active on Sunday, that would be real bad. It would
not be good.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
I would be interested to see what the man can do,
and a couple touches I would.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I think Justin Fields is about to have his best
game of the season, maybe the best game of his career.
He's probably gonna throw for three hundred and run for
one hundred. I mean, if you have any of the
Jets and fantasy football, load up on.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Them until further notice. Every quarterback the Cowboys play is
about to have a career day.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, that's just about that those I saw it as
mina cons We may have played it on the show.
She was breaking down quarterback ratings and the Cowboys opponent,
whoever it is, has a better quarterback rating than the
best quarterbacks in the NFL this year. That's amazing. So
whoever they're playing is the greatest quarterback in football.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
I mean, think about the odds. I mean, what they're
up against no matter what, however you feel about Dak,
and Dak is playing outside of Josh Allen, maybe the
best of any quarterback in football right now. Yeah, even great, okay,
And then you're like, well, the other team's going to
be better than that because of our defense, and you're
just the tough one to get a tough field of climb.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
The other thing about Dak and think about how good
he's been. There was a moment against the Packers where
I think it was third and eight and he missed
a wide open Tolbert going across the field. And it's
okay for a quarterback to make one throw where he
doesn't make it perfect, but when it happened, I was like, God,
that's gonna cost him. That they have so little margin

(04:23):
for air that Dak pretty much has to be perfect
for them to have a chance to stay within a
score or stay one score up.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Did you see that if the Cowboys had won that game,
Dak and Romo's record would be the exact same through
that number of games.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I knew that he was about to eclipse Romo of wins.
I didn't know their record was that close. It's the
exact same experience. Like I can remember the game with
Romo against the Broncos when Peyton Manning and him went
toe to toe. Incredible, it was like fifty to forty
eight or something like that. Yeah, and Romo makes one
mistake and that's it was the game. He got disconnected
with Cole Beasley in the flat late in the game

(05:00):
and it cost him.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah, one mistake. It's the same thing. It's like a
dysfunctional organization. Jerry's running it into an iceberg and the
rest of the team isn't good enough to capitalize on
world class quarterbacking. Yeah, it's a.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Tough deal so far, but we'll see how it happens.
Noon in the Meadowlands. Oh, Cowboys own that facility. Yep,
we're good, all right? Coming up at five point thirty,
A warrant is out for this artist over crimes his
dog committed, but coming up at just over three minutes.
A man fires a gun at a local bar during
a cowboy game. We have that story next

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
