Speaker 1 (00:00):
All us cowboy all right, the game is tomorrow night,

(00:20):
it is Cowboys, it is Eagles.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
We're still living around a seven and a half point spread,
so the Cowboys underdogs. Tomorrow night be a big night
in Philly where they will be having you know, the
rings and the banner and all that bs kicking off
the season. And I wanted to get on record in
this segment, a segment that we can say forever. Oh yeah,
just kind of your thoughts here. So I've got a

(00:43):
few categories here, and I would like to begin in
a seventeen game regular season here, what will the Cowboys
record be? And I want to say it clear because
we're on the air and we're gonna save this for later.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Oh you don't want us to mumble it and obscure
it in a way that yep?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Okay, Christina. I believe in a world where ladies get
to go first.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Okay, Kti.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
I wanted to do the six and nine just for
a joke, but that doesn't make sense. I need one more,
you need two more, two more? Sorry, So I'm gonna
go seven ten, losing season.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Seven ten, seven ten and seven Ten's not open on
Labor Day, Ben.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I'm going to go with eight and nine.

Speaker 6 (01:30):
Because I think that's the absolute worst place to be,
Like it's straight up purgatory, like you're not good enough
to contend, and you're not bad enough to bring back
the best possible draft assets. This is the straight up
limbo land that they've been stuck in forever. They're barely
going to be in the conversation, but they're never really

(01:50):
going to be in the conversation.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
That's I was, excuse me, pretty close to what Ben
was thinking. But I had it at nine and eight,
and I think nine and eight might actually get you.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
In though wild card wild card style.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Nine and eight could get you in for sure.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Yeah, it's right on the cusp.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I would say that they did a big poll on
the Athletic where they asked all these executives, you know,
just kind of ranked the NFC, and then they took
what their grades and the Cowboys. I think we're thirteenth,
So I had Cowboys. Now everyone's sleeping on them after
the micro trade, you think, wait, hold on thirteenth in
the NFC. Yes, wow, out of sixteen teams. And I

(02:28):
don't know that I think it's going to be that bad.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Mm hmm. I just want him to lose every game,
but they won't do that.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
There are so many unknowns with who this head coach
is too, because all that matters. It's not the good
vibes and pat you on the butt and being cool
with the media and telling good stories and you're talking
about ping pong. It's literally like, what is your You're
calling the plays, dude, Look what is your offense? And
what is the game measure?

Speaker 4 (02:53):
What if his offense is great? Like it might be,
it might be he has been before.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, people like to said, but it was in Seattle.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
They had a good offense and there this girl got
buttered about it.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
There's also there's just I think a lot of like
I wouldn't be surprised if the offensive line ended up
being good, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was
like a lot like last year's. Like I think there's
a lot of unknown there.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
I also don't think the Micah loss, I think is
huge and it dropped me down to what I thought
this team would be. Okay, because Micah helps you win
a lot of those games that are like against the Giants,
I don't know how much he's gonna help you, like
go topple an NFC powerhouse, but he helps. He really
makes those easy cupcake games, and he take that away.
I get a little nervous about everything, so I am

(03:39):
dipping them down to eight and nine.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
All right, this is what they are?

Speaker 6 (03:43):
Well, you know, you think about Micah, it's not just
the number of sacks, it's not just the number of pressures.
It's the same idea as when you have a badass
defensive center in basketball. It's not always the blocks. How
many shots did they change? How did they impact the
rest of the game. And they're lurking down there. And
for Micah, he's getting double teamed all the time and

(04:06):
sometimes triple teamed. What does that do to open things
up for other players? Like is Osa as good as
we think he is. If Micah's not getting double teamed
all the time, like I don't, they don't have to
double team anybody now, So who's gonna get the pressure?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
And here's another thing that I don't know anything about,
But when I read about it, I'm curious. Does Micah
doing all that freelancing that all these people are claiming
he's doing.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Did that screw things up?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
I don't know one year of zimmer like.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Right, And all I ever hear about when I read
about defense stuff is discipline. That's all I've read about
is in position, integrity, gap integrity, discipline. And so I'm like, Okay,
so if a guy was out there just patting his
stats doing that and the other guys aren't good enough,
how much does it matter if the system is better
like and people are playing their roles. I really don't
know this sort of stuff, but I'm curious about it.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
My approach is opposite. Is a normal is this year? Normally?

Speaker 6 (05:02):
I'm planning a parade route, and right about now I've
convinced myself that they're gonna be awesome. Every move they
made is going to work out. Now I'm I'm tempering
that hins. I would love to be blindsided with them
actually being good, but I just don't think it's gonna happen.
I think it starts with a huge embarrassing loss to
start the season, and then you're like, hey, why did

(05:24):
we just hire the guy to be a head coach
that was just standing right there? Why didn't we actually
look for the best possible candidate.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
We interviewed Pete Carroll remember yep, that's probably enough, right, yes,
all right, there you have it, Custing the Cowboys.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Cowboys predictions coming up next, major shakeups at SNL. They continue,
and this latest shakeup benefits a fort Worth Man we'll
discuss in just over three minutes
