Ben and Skin Show ninety seven point one The Eagle.
All week, we're giving away Pantera tickets. They're coming September
third to Doseki's Pavilion. Be listening every day you'll there
will be a moment where we say, go to the
iHeart appts free, use the talkback feature and if you've listening,
if you've been listening, you'll have the idea of what
you need to answer and Boom will give away pan
Tea tickets. So sometime today, every day, all week, we

(00:22):
are hooking you up. Now, another thing that we have
going on here at iHeart is something really special with
the teachers out there now. Basically, we want to hook
a teacher up. Teachers make a difference in our lives.
We know that, Ben, we've talked about that. I could
ask you right now, and I bet I know who
you're going to say, a teacher that made a difference
in your life. I would say Mark Malcolm Boom. I

(00:45):
knew you were going to search Malcolm like he was
a coach, but he was also like a history teacher.
And I still stay in touch with them on Facebook.
It's beauty on Facebook. Well, now's your chance, good Eagle listener,
to say thank you in a big way with iHeartRadio's
ink a Teacher powered by donors Shoes.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
We want you to.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Go nominate an outstanding public school teacher who's gone above
and beyond for their students and they're going to have
a chance to win five thousand dollars to stock their classroom.
So people have already gone on and nominated teacher. For example,
our teacher of the day today lou Anne Heerner of
Aradian Elementary School.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Give it up for give it up for lu Ann.
She's been nominated. That means she's had a huge impact
in somebody's life.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Already, absolutely right, and so she is now in the
running for her class to win five thousand dollars. Is
going to be a different teacher every day. We're going
to have someone special that we're going to bring to
the air Wednesday that has already been nominated, but there's
still time to nominate. So today's teacher of the day
lou Anne Heerner. We're gonna have some others, but you
can nominate someone as well, So help us say thank

(01:49):
you to the educator shaping our future. Nominate your favorite
teacher right now at iHeartRadio Dot com forward slash teachers.
That's iHeartRadio dot com forward slash teacher. You go nominate
a teacher and they're gonna have a chance to win
five thousand dollars to stock their classroom. Because funding has
been changing constantly, school districts are having I mean there's

(02:10):
been schools that have been closed down. So this is
a chance for teachers to do the job. They do
get some additional support, and we want to hook somebody up. Dude.
They deserve all the love they can get. You know,
it's a thankless job. You don't get paid near enough.
Parents are irrational dealing with their kids. You get the
cast of that. Then you got to deal with idiot
kids like us who are class clowns, you know, messing
up the class. And it's just there's so much stress

(02:33):
that comes with it and you're underappreciated. That's why this
is so important to shine a spotlight on these great teachers,
let them know we love them and thank them for
what they're doing to shape our future. We are hooking
you up, but right now it's time for this skinny track,
another edition of things skin is Traffic.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
All right, thank you, thank you everyone.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
We were at the Chalk Talk Casino and Resort during
Oklahoma on Friday.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I love when we do shows out there.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
And I think I told you guys then that my
wife wanted to see Happy Gilmore too. Now, this was
an incredible curveball for me, because in general, I try
not to force her to watch movies that I know
she's gonna hate, because I know, yeah, in general, like I,
you'll watch those by yourself for the most part, like honestly,

(03:24):
like we like the same kinds of movies. But what
she's not gonna like is she's not gonna like dumb humor.
Like one of the real defining moments of our relationship
early on was she didn't get spinal Tap, and I
was like, all right, and you still move forward. Yeah,
you know, I just watched spinel Tap again. It's still
got its fast. I'm running that test this week.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Oh really, it still holds up.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I mean, it's honestly and truly, I think it's like
a top twenty comedy for me all time.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
For a lot of reasons.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
One, it launched the whole Christopher Guest style of mockumentary.
Albert Brooks did it first, but Christopher perfected it, and
then number two when it came out, I was in
the heavy metal and it's about an aging heavy metal band.
Is Christopher guests also the lead guitars who leaves the band?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Is that that guy too? Or is he in it?
Christopher Guess is in it? Okay?

Speaker 1 (04:14):
He? Him and Lenny are the two Nigel and Dave.
So what's happening here is this? For those that don't know,
Skin and KT have a long standing personal war with
each other, and Skin will kill the Dave Matthews band,
which hurts KT's soul, and KAT will try to fire back.

(04:35):
But you're about to review Happy Gilmore two. So he said,
oh yeah, well, guess what I'm about to watch a
movie you love right right? And KT is gonna be
a little defensive right now because John Oliver went in
on Dave Matthews last night.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Oh damn. So you're a Sunday night watcher of the
show Monday. Yeah, yeah, yeah, sorry to ruin your Monday.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
But so for me, Happy Gilmour is not a great movie.
There's some funny stuff in it, but I know my
wife would not be even remotely interested Happy Gilmore.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Happy Gilmore too, Happy Gilmy to.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Be clear, and you'll you'll understand what's happened here Happy Gilmore.
So she's never seen it, and I've never tried to
get her to see it. One. It's not some big
movie for me, but to I'm like, there's no way
she's gonna like this movie, Like, there's no way. It's
not in her wheelhouse at all. And so she goes, yeah,
let's watch Happy Gilmore Too tonight, and I was.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Like, wait, what what is?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
And I didn't realize at the time Bad Bunny and
Travis kelcere in it. She loves Travis Kelsey and she
probably likes Bad.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Bunny even more. She loves Bad Bunny. He's great in it.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
And so I was like, all right, I mean I
probably wouldn't have ended up watching Happy Gilmore Too if
you didn't want to see it. Everyone I know has
seen it and they all really like it. So I'm interested,
but I really had nothing driving me to go see it,
because I'm not some Happy Gilmore guy. We're five seconds
into the movie and she goes, wait, is that his name?

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Oh my god?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, that's how little she knew about there's a hole
I watched the first one.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
I don't think she does.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
There's a whole first movie about Happy Gilmore. She wants
to see Happy Gilmore too. She's unaware that the guy's
name is Happy Gilmore. It was something that had Travis
Kelsey and Bad Bunny in it.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
That's it. Wow, that's it. It is off putting for
a guy's first name to be happy. I'll give her that.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
The sequel, yeah, could well, I kind of forgot too
because he was like a adventure park or something like
what a Happy Gilmore?

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Oh kay? It was now here's where it gets even. Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
So then we watched the movie. I liked it way
more than she did. She only liked Travis Kelsey and
Bad Bunny. The rest of it was just like what
because it was all referential to the first movie.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
And then also she hadn't followed Golf, and this movie's
very much rewards you if you follow Golf, like in
a massive way, over and over again.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
And in general I liked it.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
It was a nice watch, you know, I thought, Okay,
and it actually made me want to go back and
watch Happy Gilmore again.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
And I saw didn't you tell us KT? That it
was the number two watches?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Right, So we're you know, we watch Happy Gilmore too,
I liked it more than she did. Blah blah blah,
Travis Kelsey's great, bad, Bunny's great et cetera, et cetera.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Uh, gonna move on and all that.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
So then last night my daughter got back in town
and we went out to dinner, and it's my daughter,
her boyfriend, me, my wife, and Des and so I
start to tell them that, you know, Trish Is didn't
know that his name was Happy Gilmore. Maya and her
boyfriend had watched the movie three days ago, apparently, swear

(07:47):
to god, I can't make this up. Five seconds into
the movie, she turned to Carnor and goes, wait, his
name is Happy Gilmore. How amazing is that? Let's go
That is the symmetry in my household. Both of them
watched the sequel to Happy Gilmore. My wife wanted us
to watch the sequel to it. Neither one of them

(08:08):
realized the character's name was Happy Gilmore.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
You're not amazing. It makes me enjoy it even more amazing, amazing,
all right?

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Coming up next in the Hollywood Shuffle, how Jerry Jones
created a war between Des Bryant and Nicki Minaj.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Do not miss this. It's next,
