In this wildly off-the-rails episode of The Ben and Skin Show, the crew takes a nostalgic trip in the Wayback Machine to revisit one of the most chaotic fill-in shows ever: Mosquito and the Hulk. With Ben Rogers out sick and Jeff “Skin” Wade on vacation, Kevin “KT” Turner and Krystina Ray guide listeners through a hilarious flashback featuring two fictional hosts—Mike “The Mosquito” Moscato and Bubba “The Hulk”—as they interview Rams blogger Jason De La Sondra.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Ben In Skin Show is going to be on

(00:01):
remote this Friday from three to six at the Pluckers
in Dallas. Lovers in Greenville. Come see us there, wear
a costume. It's Halloween. We'll all be wearing costumes. And
then Monday, the Ben and Skin Show broadcast from roller Town,
Frisco from three to six, and then afterwards we'll have
a Dallas Cowboys watch party with the great Tyler Klutz,
former Cowboys fullback.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
But right now it's time for this. It's time to
go into the bit and Skin showl Wyberg.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
This day two years ago, Ben and Skin called in sick,
and Mosquito and the Hulk filled in Mike the Mosquito,
Mescato love of the Hulk, and they had a RAMS
blogger on. His name is Jason to Talk Rams. So
Cowboys RUMs must have been playing that week, I guess.
But this is from exactly two years ago today, and
this is part one of Mosquito and the Hulk, just

(00:51):
a fill in radio show, filling in for Ben and
Skin who were out.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Obviously, people do get for Betted Sked. Everyone do. Skid
was on vacation. I did it expect Ben to get
sick today but Ben was unavailable, so you got it,
I said, my Squito, it the Holk, the sports Buffet.
It's not just the Dallas Mavericks. It's not just FC Dallas.
It's not just the Dallas Stars, the Dallas Cowboys. They're
playing the Los Angeles Rams. I know you're excited about

(01:16):
this game, so they give it up, Hulk.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I'm very excited. You know.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
I tried to get Cooper Cup on my fantasy team
and I could not get him. And then I tried
to get uh, Pooking the Cool off the waiver wire.
How do you doing that? Pooka the Cool.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
That's Pookah for soyable, Pookah.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
The cour I believe it's Hawaiian okay, And trying to
get Pooking the Cool could pick him up now he
hot too, and I'm just curious. Uh you know, do
you know mak like which one of them is the
go to guy moving forward? Because they're both good.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
As you know, I use prize picks for all of
my picks, and I like to do daily fantasy.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
I don't do long term. You're in the keeper league, Hubble, No, not.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
A keeper league. I tried to get in one. I
couldn't get in one didn't but I got in. I'm
in six words leagues.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Oh yeah, yeah, there's some really good leagues up here
at that art. Of course, Jimmy during sales always runs
the league.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
But you know, I'm not doing good in that league.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
I'll be honest with you. That's the league I'm struggling
in the most. But in my main league. It's the
one that I thought I had a chance to get
Cooper Cup and I did not, And then I tried
to get pooping a cool off to wave a wire.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
A guy that could probably help you though, with any
ReBs questions you have. His name is Jason dellissdro He
is a RABS expert from the Turf show Times bog
How we do it out there?

Speaker 6 (02:30):
Jason, good, good, how are you guys? Thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
We're doing good. I hope you have some fantasy insight.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
We'll get to that a little bit later, and of course,
you know what a little more about what you're doing.
But Holk, I want to get your thoughts out of
the game. I want your pulse up the game, really
get on Sunday, hope.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Mostly it's just from a fantasy football perspective. So you know,
I'm just havn't watched many games.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Yeah, yeah, that's you know, I think for a lot
of people with fantasy sports take it over, they just
kind of watched the scores.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
You know, Jason, what are your thoughts go it in
on this game?

Speaker 6 (03:02):
Well, the Rams had a pretty disappointing loss last week.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I think, who are they playing last week? Jason? Who
did they play?

Speaker 6 (03:10):
We played the Steelers last week and they were all
seventeen to ten, and the third looked pretty good and
then just kind of fell apart in the second half.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Did you see that Minnesota San Francisco game by Monday night?

Speaker 6 (03:22):
I did a little bit.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yeah, it was a good game. It was a good game.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Yeah, said, do you watch the red Zone channel or
do you actually watch the RAM game?

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I do.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
I do try and watch all the Rams games, most
of the other games. I'll throw a red Zone.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
On for what are some of the things you're seeing
out there? I'm so sorry, said I was talking to
the whole Hope.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
No, you're fine, And I want to get your thoughts too,
because honestly, I.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Had lots of thoughts of the game.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Yeah, honestly, for me, it's trying to keep the red
zone channel works for me because I don't have time
to watch every game and I'm tracking them in six
work leagues, and you know, sometimes like pook and a
coua a guy I've been trying to get on my team.
You know, what do you think about him now that
Cooper Cup is back? Is that is he still going

(04:09):
to be a dominant rookie or is it going to
be a situation where hey, there's enough balls to go around.
I think the tight ends name is Higbee to me.
You know, it's just Pooking the Coua Cooper Cup. There's
only two targets to really look at based on the stats.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Leads you a bit of this. I have some thoughts.
I've seen pooking the Cup play a little bit. I mean,
obviously we know with Cup what that's all about. For me,
it comes down to bad Stafford. Yeah, that Stafford. Hold on, jeez,
that's Stafford is the guy that everyone from around here
knows because he went to Highland Park host Holland Park

(04:47):
High School exactly, and I don't.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Know if he do this. He grew up played little
league sports with Clayton Kersha. I was told that he
has never picked up a baseball.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
No, that's not true. I don't know who told you
that he played with Clayton Kershaw. And Clayton Kershaw ironically
a log time Dodger. Who are the Cowboys playing this weekend?
The Dodgers?

Speaker 5 (05:11):
I was told that Clayton Kershaw has never picked up
a football.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
That may be true. I don't know much. Do you
know much about Clayton Kershaw's backstory?

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Jason? I don't.

Speaker 6 (05:19):
I don't how much of a baseball guy is that?

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Right?

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Not even fantasy baseball? Do you play fantasy basketball? Jason?
I don't. Have you ever used prize picks?

Speaker 6 (05:30):
I know I have not. If you guys use them.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Oh yeah, there for to show them in meta liquid
or too big sanitising.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Do you like to do a lot of gambling? Jason?

Speaker 5 (05:40):
All right?

Speaker 1 (05:43):
The interview starts with welcoming the guest and then asking.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
The co host a question.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yeah, and then not even knowing who they playing.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
God, that is so good? All right?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Coming up next the fiery conclusion of this Mosquito and
the whole bit It's just three it's a way, don't
miss it.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
Ben and Skin Show ninety seven point one the Eagle.
This segment right here is brought to you by Rollertown
beer Works.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
That is the brewery that Ben and I are partners in.
I don't forget.

Speaker 7 (06:10):
We're gonna be doing the Ben and Skin show there
next Monday from three to six and then we'll have
a Cow's Cards watching party after. But Ben, this week
coming up, tons of Halloween stuff going on at Rollertown
in Frisco. Yeah, man, there's stuff all freaking weak.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
And look, all I can say is this, We have
been so well received in Frisco. Huge thank you to
everybody out there who came out to our opening weekend
Friday and Saturday. We're massive. We had a ton of
people come out and watch NFL on Sunday. The number
one thing I can tell you about this is follow
Rollertown beer Works on social media. There's not even enough

(06:44):
time in this little promo mentioned that Rollertown buys in

if you follow Rollertown beer Works on social media, you'll
see that there's basically something happening every single day, and
so follow on social media so you can know everything.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Right now, it's time for this kid, and it's big,
really big. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
So we're wrapping up part two here, or we're about
to start part two of Mosquito and the Hulk with
a RAMS blogger named Jason from two years ago. On
this day, Mosquito and the Hulk were filling in for
Ben and Skins Like Skin was on vacation and Ben
Ben was out sick, so miskit on the whol just
doing a filling job. They really beat him down with
some fantasy questions and the first one talked over him

(07:50):
a little bit, basically made him kind of the expert.
But the expert doesn't get to talk first or much
at all, or much at all, but it's fine. Jason
was getting a long I'm fine. What happens when he
has to do the signature Hulk roar? What happens when
things get chaotic. Let's go back to two years ago.
Let's get on the Hulk with Jason.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
The rams water. Do you like to do a lot
of gambling, Jason.

Speaker 6 (08:14):
I'm not a big gambler, but I do make some
picks for turf showtime, so I'm involved in that area.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Life is a big gamble, Hulk.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
It's always a gamble. And I gambled with my blood
pressure and I'm working on that.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
That's why the good foks.

Speaker 6 (08:28):
I'm I'm with you there, man.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Metal Liquid has changed my life. It's an all liquid diet.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
And if I could just give them a plug here
because they had pay a good percentage of my salary.
But with Meta Liquid, I was you know, I was
at five hundred and seventy nine pounds. That was out
of you know, things weren't going well. I was not
paying attention to my health, flirting with being diabetic.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
That's more than flirting, that's a full ood courtship with
that I allow myself to be.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
I was always sweaty, you know, just didn't feel good,
stomach rumbling spell sometimes.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
And with Metal.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
Liquid I was able to get down to five seventy four.
So I've turned it around. It's that's in a very
short time. And Jason, have you ever batted weight?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (09:14):
I'm with you.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
I've definitely been a heavier guy for a long time.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
It's a sports buffet with a mosquito the hole. He
took a big swig a bat of liquid and that
was just coughing up blood.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
How you doing?

Speaker 5 (09:26):
The big man struggled a little bit with you know,
some of the health things that are associated with being
a man of size.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
And I found you to be very brave.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Hold you know what they say by sharing that is
actually caring And I'm trying to help other people.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
You know what you feel me on that? Jason?

Speaker 6 (09:43):
Sure, man, whatever whatever makes you get through it.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
What about you? How big are you? Well?

Speaker 4 (09:49):
You can see me right here in front of you.
I have a guy who onlyways one hundred and eighty pounds.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
Good.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
What about you, Jason?

Speaker 6 (09:56):
I'm running around in the middle there.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
I'm about to seventy any how tall are you about
five eight?

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Oh? My god, that's a big man. That's lean man.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
You know, I would argue, I guess, but you know
everybody can approve.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
Right, You're doing a good job sharing with us. Hulk
was sharing earlier one of my favorite Bible verses. If
you don't talk about it, they'll talk about you. And
I think that that's something that we can all learn from.
So I know something I've learned from a problems with.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
I don't know. I'm not familiar with that one. I
think it's Corinthians.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
But I've had mid edit out have many times, and
that's had an impact on you know, some of my marriages,
by marriages, by my second marriage, those kids will talk
to me. But I do have a pretty good relationship
that with uh By fourth three, your kids play Fantasy.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
Two kids to general?

Speaker 2 (10:55):
He's asking kids in general?

Speaker 6 (10:57):
I would I would assume you most kids.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Do you are me?

Speaker 5 (11:00):
And you have a chance to either trade for Cooper Cup?

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Who are you going to try to get Pook? The
color Cooper Cup?

Speaker 6 (11:08):
So I personally would probably go If it's not a
keeper league, I would go for Cup because he tends
to get more of the volument it's keeper league. Pook
is probably the smart option because it's a little younger.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
How do you spell that? You could you spell that
for me? Jason write, yeah, I want to hear it too.
What spell what p.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
U K A N A c U A interesting.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Hold on, hold that p U K E what is it?

Speaker 5 (11:37):
K K A.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
There's a Q.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
P U K A P and then there's an after
that A C you A.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Well, you're not an expert. I'm asking Jason, are you
sure that's accurate?

Speaker 2 (11:51):
I think that's what he says. Is that accurate? Yeah? Yeah, Jason,
What do you expect?

Speaker 6 (11:56):
I said, I'm expecting the rank offense?

Speaker 4 (12:00):
No, no, no, no, I'm sorry, outside of football, just
a general Sunday was the first day of the week.

Speaker 6 (12:04):
What do you expect, Oh, nothing much, just watching football?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, the same on the red Zone channel.

Speaker 6 (12:13):
Yeah, red Zone Rams. Uh. I'm actually located out in Chicago.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
So we know a lot of wait wait, wait, wait wait,
you're a Rams insider who's living in Chicago.

Speaker 6 (12:24):
Well, originally, when I grew up and the Rams came
to town, or when I started, I came to town.
But when I started liking them, they were in Saint Louis,
So we were the Saint Louis Rams back then. Yeah,
we're a lit closer than now. They're back that y'all
had Kurt Warner, Yep, yep, Kurt Warners.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
That was that was my second marriage. Whole time My
uncle used to call him the greatest show on turf?
Is that why you're called turf show times?

Speaker 6 (12:50):
I think that is the reason that the website is
called that Sweet Betty's Ass.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
I had no I did not put that together until
you said that that's did.

Speaker 6 (12:58):
You know that?

Speaker 2 (13:00):
I not know that.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
But I love to hear the full cycle just of
life and understanding that some team's got to leave, but
you can still love that team wherever you reside geographically,
who do.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
You believe in the full cycle of life? Jason didn't
with regard to in terms he's got. All right, I apologize.
I just accidentally. We all do it. We can all
be mature about it. But I just let one writ
and it is completely distracted. Be it spells like you

(13:34):
cut this out, Christina will edit this out. Yeah, I
can say, because we are we going to edit two one?

Speaker 2 (13:40):
All right, we back in.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
You don't have to say we're back here. That's part
of the adderland. Okay, this is a great part of
the pre recording.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Jason. If I've been on the radio before, we're a hulk.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Actually it was embarrassing, cumulating, Yeah, and really probably the
moment that led me to go ahead and pick up
the phone and call Meta Liquid.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
And that way it was a rechristening for you, rebirth
if you will. And I apologize for that thought.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
It was very unprofessional you talking about what, Yes, very unprofessional.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I apologize. Ja Metal Liquid does that. It's a byproduct
of the medicine. And I'm so stopped up i can't
spell it. Jason, Yea, it's bad. It's bad. And you
know when you don't like your own that's really bad.
I like Jason. You know we all do it though, right.

Speaker 6 (14:28):
We know that's not sure.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
But yeah, how old of a man are you right now?
I'm sixty two years what about.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
I'm in my early thirties.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
All right, I'll take this and now it's time for
the Metal Liquid Holk Roar of the week.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
This is great.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
I have a signature row on the show. What I
like to do is I make a big point. And
when I make a point in the show and I
want to emphasize it, what I like to do is
go raw hope and I grow and say hope in
my signature roar. And what I would like for you
to do is make your hardest hitting point you got
to make about cowboys Rams and then hit off that

(15:06):
Hulk signature raw and I'll say, brought to you by
Meta liquid.

Speaker 6 (15:09):
All right, we've ever had.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
It's just as a curtency to me.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
And if the problem is as soon as the guests
stopped doing it, my PD is gonna tell me to
stop doing Just.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
So you know that you're in good company. What time
we had former Houston rocket Rodney McCray.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
How did he do this? Campbell as well?

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Yeah have you I don't know if you've ever had
his sausages, but yeah, just so he said it again, Hulk.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
All right, here we are.

Speaker 5 (15:36):
Jason is gonna bring you the turf show Times the
Hulk raw opinion of the week, the hardest hitting fact
he got going into Cowboys rams and we're no further ado.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Here is the point in the raw? Bring it, Jason.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
Times.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Can you give me that roar? Let's get that r
That guy ended up, he bailed, He had been worn out.

Speaker 7 (16:09):
That's a lot of his time, but so long he
did get a score in the thing.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
He did get scoring, and then he left, and then
he left. The thing that really tricks these guys is
right we're about to lose him. Skin brings them back
in as a professional broadcaster, the cadence and everything.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
He's like, let's talk about the game. Get back to
the game.

Speaker 7 (16:27):
Like, oh okay, good, I'm back at my comfort zone. Man,
I can't get on after that. I was just inter
thinking I would have listened to that show every day.
Those two idiots. He only wanted to know about his
personal fantasy team. He just wanted to say, all right,
fun times. Indeed, I'll never forget the time. KT looked

(16:48):
uh pooka canoe right in his eye and he said,
thank people who know how to code. I think they
can do some stuff. Yeah, that was That's very true, Kevin. Yep,
that's helpful to everybody. Christina, we have MAVs Night. You're
gonna play music for a little.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Bit for about an hour.

Speaker 7 (17:03):
Yes, stick around with our homegirl for the next hour,
and then MAV's right after Here on the Eagle, here
you going, Well.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
I'm gonna get my sock backed. Dude, I gotta take
a poop.
