“Would you trade two first-round picks and a starter for Myles Garrett?” That’s just one of the wild hypotheticals Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, and Kevin “KT” Turner throw down in this fiery episode of The Ben and Skin Show. The crew kicks off with a sobering question: Are the Cowboys officially dead? After a crushing 34–26 loss to the Vikings, the guys debate whether it’s time to tank for draft position or cling to the faint hope of an 8-8-1 season. KT revisits Skin’s infamous tweet predicting that exact record—and the hilarious late-night clapback from Cowboys legend Brad Sham. From Dak Prescott’s brutally honest postgame comments to Brian Schottenheimer’s lip-read meltdown (“What the F are we doing?”), this episode is packed with raw reactions, insider nuggets, and laugh-out-loud moments—including a completely unnecessary but hysterical debate about which coaches are hand-washers.

Do your clock on the doc.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Got a habit for my house, a go status Howard
starting to get crating shows that up multiply like a
rabbit tuned in, sot out, crank it up, beat the habit.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I'm hang out with my friend lock in on the lady, Kiti, Ristine,
all of them, lady.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Oh yes, Happy Monday, everybody.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
It's the world famous Ben and Skin Show ninety seven
point one The Eagle. Thank you for tuning in today
and every day. Today is a cowboy Monday. Unfortunately not
not a happy cowboy Monday. Uh let me introduce the crew.
Christina is no longer with us, so she won't be
here today, but it was a hell of a run.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
She's good. People who are here are me Ben Rodgers,
Jeff skin Wade and Kevin K. T. Turner.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
So we're a three man show today. I like to
call it a tripod and we're gonna have a great,
great show. Although the overall theme of the show might
be a little bit sad because the Cowboys are dead.
They lost to the Vikings thirty four to twenty six.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
What is our percentage now of making the postseason? About
one percent? Are you sure? My models say two and
a half. Well, let me pump it in. Are you
saying assuming that we run the table?

Speaker 5 (01:29):
Yeah, so if we went out and Philadelphia loses out,
we're h Yep, they lose twice to Washington, Yes, which
I like our odds.

Speaker 6 (01:38):
Yeah. One thing that Brian Schottenheimer said after the game
is that he's not gonna sleep well tonight, but he's
gonna wake up and work his ass off. Immediately thought
of Ben, who's just gonna want them to lose the
next three games?

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
I heard it last night too, Dak. Dak is such
a great leader, Dude, He's such a great dude. He's
I was listening to his postgame comments and he's like, yeah,
it's over. Season's over, obviously, but we're not gonna make
the playoffs. But as professionals, we need to go out
and do our best to try to win every game.
Some guys are auditioning for their next job, so everybody's

(02:11):
got to be professional. But he's basically acknowledging that it's over.
And dude, he said everything perfectly like he said it
to a t. It's exactly what you want to say.
But that's not what I want. I want to lose
the remaining three games and we get the best draft
pick possible.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
I want to go too in one because I want
to be eight eight and one. You have a reason
for that, Betty, I have vested interest in being eight
eight and one.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Do read it. It's worth it.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Yeah, this goes back. This is after the Packers tie, right, yes,
late September. The Packers said, so September twenty eighth, twenty
twenty five. I remember that after that tie forty to
forty of the Packers, you tweeted, that's the type of
tie that can springboard you to an exhilarating eight eight
in one season.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
And then you were.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
Tweeted by Boys of the Cowboys Brad Sham legend radio
hall of famer, who says, and this is at one
fifty am in the morning the next day after that
tough tie, he says, what a pessimist, Let's see what happens.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It can also be a springboard to overachieving. We'll know
more in two weeks.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
But then you and Ben told MAVs fans to give
up in the Portland series in twenty eleven.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Oh okay, then you responded the next morning you sure
about that? Get your facts straight. X is full of misinformation.
Don't be that guy, Brad.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
Get your facts straight before you spout off in a
public forum.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Take a lap. I told Brad Sham to take a lap.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
And if you think eight eight and one is pessimistic
with the Moto five defense, I don't know what to
tell you, dude. I think it's funny too that you
called Twitter a public forum, because I mean, it's really
not that anymore. I mean it is sort of, but
it's not like how we thought of public forums.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
For the record, I'm the one who said they were
going to be the one and done boys, not skin
But in credit, nobody is more optimistic about a season
than the guys who work for the team.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yeah, I mean it's just the bottom line. Yeah, no, absolutely,
Like nobody's going to be more adamant that everything's going
to be fine, that the house is not on fire
than a guy that works for the Dallas Cowboys. Such
a good work when the house is on fire. But
my whole point was this, Okay, wait a minute.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
You've been in the NFL for how long and you've
seen this team play, and you think eight eight and
one is pessimistic. It's the entire Jason Garrett, Jason Garrett decade.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
You don't know how those seasons are Garrett are gonna
play out. Yeah, I can look at him now, you
don't know that. I was like, this is not pessimistic.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
In fact, I would argue with the defense is bad,
eight eight and one's pretty optimistic.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yes, I am, okay, Garrett.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
Thing to say, show listener, absolutely if you're not pulling
for an eight eight and one season at this point,
just for this small victory. Yeah, and then we book
Brad and then we Brad to talk about it, showing
the tweets printed out.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Ramton just sent it not a good payoff. I don't
care about this. I don't care about the Skinwad petty payoff.
The skin Wade petty payoff does not help me. What
helped me get us through March. What helps me is
a pick possible in every single round because.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
God, they need help. And another another thing that helps them.
The Packers are probably toast now.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah, Michah Parson's done for the year. You know it.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Though you can't stop the Bears. They were toast anyways's.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yeah, that's tough the aco.

Speaker 6 (05:32):
I watched the second half of the Packers and Broncos
yesterday and basically, things are really good. You're up by nine,
we're kind of cruising, and then within a span of
about ten minutes, our star wide receiver up his chest
and then Micah Parsons towards a cl and I just
kind of watched the rest of the game in a haze.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Nothing even made sense. It's in a bad mood.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
You want to feel really good about the Cowboys next year,
just go look at the top of the playoff standings
in both conferences and tell me they can't be a
Super Bowl contender next year.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Yeah, everybody had the Patriots doing this. I mean, this
is the NFL.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
You're a year away from winning your division every year. Okay,
they have a quarterback. You're exactly right, You're exactly right.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Okay, so they need to retool their defense, they need
to create cap space, go spending free agency, and go
with a win. Now mentality, we have a franchise quarterback
who's elite.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
He's in his prime.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Let's go have a badass defense around him, or just
the best it can possibly be. They got to figure
out a way to get pressure. They don't get pressure.
They need Azaraku will get there. Everyone likes them, that's great.
They need help. They need linebackers, good god, they need linebackers.
They need safeties, they need a lot. They need to
retool their defense. They probably need a new defensive coordinator too.
But they could be right back there. But how the

(06:43):
Packers even losing that game? Packers are nine to four
and one or something, So there's they're not terrible there.
I mean there's still a lot. They have tough schedules. Okay,
so that's how people think they might not get How
good could their pick be? Best case scenario if they
lose A best case gets you like eighteen.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
I was gonna say, it could still be fourteen or
fifteen if they lose out. I don't think they're falling
out of the playoffs eighteen. I don't think it's outrageous
that they would lose out. We look at our schedule. No,
it's not you know, uh okay, let me let me
throw this at you guys. Also, really very good, but
maybe not good anymore because what just happened. Ye let
me throw this at you guys, because I was thinking

(07:18):
this and this is craziness. Would you trade two first
round picks and uh Diggy Zua for Miles Garrett? Uh? Well,
if you do that, maybe you keep Kenny Clark. Yes, yes,
that's that's what I'm talking about. You keep Kenny Clark.
I think you keep Kenny Clark regardless. Personally, I don't.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
I don't think you can afford to have the embarrassment
of riches to have three good defensive tackles when you
have so many oles everywhere else. Miles Garrett, Miles Garrett
and two for I'm sorry, first round, two for in
the one basket. But that's kind of what you gotta do.
And then you had Miles Garrett, Kenny Clark, and Quinnin
on your line and then Azraaku on the other side. Yeah, yeah,

(07:59):
that'd be good. That'd be really that's two first round picks, right,
go for it. Yeah, I mean he is how old
is he now? Twenty nine?

Speaker 5 (08:05):
So he's smack dab in his prime. He's about to
set the all time sack record. Double check that, Katie
I think he's twenty nine. Yeah, thirty at the end
of the month.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I mean that chance. What we've learned is that, no,
you don't trade for a thirty year old when you
have But we're going for it now.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
It's the now window. Yeah, and you're gonna do it
while Jerry's still able to be up there and watch
and be involved.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Every window in the NFL's three years, every window, Yeah, I'd.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
Go for that.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Was that enough to get him?

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Though?

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Where does some team offer more than that? Maybe, I
don't know. Two first round picks and a starter on
the defensive line.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
Yeah, no, that's probably that's my very high bid. That's
a high bid for a guys about to have twenty
five sacks.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Yeah, go for it.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Now, you still got to figure out how to address
You got to go get some linebackers, some safeties. But
we know this, we've witnessed it when when Michael Parcels
was on the field, the Cowboys were an elite defense.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
When he's not on the field, they're the worst defense.
So if you have pressure, you're can you make everyone
else around you better?

Speaker 5 (09:02):
And think about if you have Kenny Clark and Quentin
Williams next to you. Yeah, my god, I don't even
think you need linebackers anymore.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
That's awesome. That's awesome. All right, there you have it.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
There's the opening segment. We didn't quite fully bury them.
We're giving you a hope for the future. Coming out next.
Let's keep this conversation going. Where did the cowboys go
from here? We'll talk about that in three minutes.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
Don't go anywhere, Ben and Skin Show ninety seven point
one The Eagle. Hey, We're going to be at the
Torches in Frisco on Wednesday doing the show from three
to six, and they have the whole Torches Hooky Hour
where you can come out and get really good deals,
half priced drinks, fresh mocktails and all those delicious apps. Man,
I love the caso. Oh yeah, Torchies maybe the best

(09:40):
caso in DFW. It's it's definitely a candidate.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Now.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
This Torchies and Frisco is at Preston and one twenty one,
just north of one twenty one, basically right next to
Stone by our mall. It's at twenty nine to forty
seven Preston Road. And this is one of the most
important remotes we've ever had. We want to pack the
house because we want to make them a partner of
ours moving forward.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Oh I love that, So we're going we're doing giveaways. Yeah,
we love torches.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
And by the way, Ben and I have a brewery
called Rollertown beer Works and they have the big German
on tap there. That's the cults are delicious cults. So
come on out, have a big German, have some of
that delicious case of that. I think Chili's tried to
copy quite frankly.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
And maps tickets available.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
Oh yeah, we do have maps tickets giveaways, tons of
Maps tickets. So it's gonna be huge on Wednesday, so big.
In fact, during the game, I don't know if you
saw the footage, they cut to Stephen Jones and he
was on a walkie talkie and if you can read lips,
he said, are you going to that Ben and Skin
remote on Wednesday? Torchies and Frisco. I think they got

(10:35):
the big German on tap. So did you guys see
that happened in the game. I did see that early
in the first quarter. And Steven's got the walkie talkie
up to his lips. Now he's either drinking what appears
to be brown drink, whiskey, or maybe he's having some tea,
like to assume it's just some tea. Jerry's sitting right
next to him with his claw hands, and Steven is

(10:55):
going down to the sideline and it looks like he's
phoning in plays.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Is great.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
Now, We did get confirmation from the beat the Cowboys
beat reporters because they asked because it was on the
TV broadcast and they're all watching the TV broadcast while
the game's happening too, And he said it's to get
injury information for them to know up press box.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
I wish it was to call down there and tell
them to turn eber Flus's headset off like or or
just like calling a play here and there.

Speaker 6 (11:26):
Maybe they're like, we should be uh, we should try
some man coverage here on third and seven from once,
Let's roll it out and see what happened to.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Pitch and catch for first tun uf. Yeah, there it is. Yeah.
The other thing, did y'all see the lip reading from Shody? Yes,
he said, what the effort we doing about the defense?

Speaker 6 (11:42):
And I think we all subscribe to timeouts or for
the offense, right, we're all big believers in that if.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Time that's five minutes. That means you're losing. Yeah, no,
you need you need in the final five minutes of
a half.

Speaker 6 (11:52):
This is in the first half, and they had to
burn a time out because they didn't have the defense
lined up. And you zoom in on Shody fucking past
Eberflus and he goes, what the f are we doing now?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
A lot of people tried to throw in Flus.

Speaker 6 (12:06):
I didn't read that with my lip reading skills, but
you know, either way, like there's our first maybe notification,
just something that shows you shot. He might not like
what's been going on with the defense. Surely he's been upset,
but he's been good guy. Hey, we're working on this.
We're getting better. He's been doing that whole thing. Good
good buddy syndrome. Well, now when it all comes to

(12:28):
a head and you're out of the playoffs and this
is your head coaching job the first time, and it's
because the defense can't do anything and your offense has
been really good, you're gonna take that to your grave.
So I think he's this is We're starting to see
the tension dries a little bit.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
The next three weeks.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
This is the best time of year to start pointing
fingers Holliday season. Maybe he was walking by but saying,
what the hell are we doing about the flu? Cause
I know we're gonna get into this at four thirty five.
I mean, there's a lot of sick flying around, and sometimes,
you know, you think about it at weird times and
seeing your defense just organized might remind you.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
I need to get organized and get my flu shot.

Speaker 6 (13:03):
It's one thing that I look for with coaches for
my sports teams. Do my coaches look like hand washers
or not. If you got a coach who's not a
hand washer, then it's gonna the negativity and the toxins
are gonna spread throughout the locker room, you're gonna have
a problem.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
I think Shot he's a hand washer.

Speaker 6 (13:20):
Okay, he strikes me as a hand washing guy, Jason Kidd,
I think he's a handsher.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
He's got to wash his hand because he always holds
his hand up to his mouth, and he needs to
be real careful to germs, and.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
He's washed his hands of any involvement in the lucas.
I don't know how these things happen. I just work
here and then I'm told and I have to go
out there and try to draw plays for Max Christy.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
I don't know much about Skip Schumacher, yet It's hard
for me to think that Boachi was a handwasher.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Doesn't that feel like a guy who would just take
a whiz and straight to the door.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
I'd like to take time out to celebrate what Boachi
did for the Texas Range. I don't want to trash
and call them a guy that is always like making
germs go everywhere.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I think he did wonders here. I get in there
and I'll tell you how. My hands don't get dirty,
and I do, I don't and I will clean them.
But I won't and I will.

Speaker 6 (14:13):
It takes a very special manager to make the playoffs
one time in four years with Corey Seeger.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
But when you make it, when you make it, you
win it, bitch, make it. You want it? Yeah, and
you know what, you know what I'd rather do.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
I'd either I'd rather make the playoffs and win it all,
or not make the playoffs and have a higher draft pick.
If I'm not gonna win it all, well, another player
of the Cowboys you're gonna wash their hands up is
Trayvon Diggs.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
More on that at four o'clock. Oh, I can't wait
to get into that.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
All right, Unfortunately, tragedy happened over the weekend and it's
it's not happy stuff. We gotta we gotta cover the story,
the Rob Reiner murder story. We're gonna get into all
that coming up next
