been listening to the Bin and Skin Show for a
long time? You're very aware of our partnership and connection
to the good people at Pluckers, and so we are
(00:25):
very excited to have a special guest joining us from Austin,
Texas right now. She is the homie. It is Pluckers Kristin.
How are we doing today, Kristin?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Damn good? How are you guys?
Speaker 1 (00:36):
We are doing fantastic. And you guys have something really
special going on on Wednesday, And be was like, have
you guys seen this? We need to get Kristin on
and talk about this. So here you are, So why
don't you tell us what's cooking?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:49):
So, I mean, as you guys know, and I know
you guys are doing some stuff too. It's Breast cancer
Awareness month and so you know, we decided to jump
in and see what we can do to you know,
help raise awareness as well. And so on Wednesday, which
is October the fifteenth, we are giving a free meal
(01:13):
to breast cancer fighters and survivors.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
So if you're a fighter, current currently fighting, or if.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
You're a survivor, come in get a free meal at
any any Pluckers.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
All Pluckers are participating.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
And on top of that, we're giving all the proceeds
from our Strawberry lemonade that day to the Breast Cancer
Resource Center. So you know, we're we're jumping in and
helping out as much as we can. And you know,
our our Pluckers club members are able to donate their
points as well all month long actually, and so far
(01:50):
they've they've donated almost two thousand dollars, and so we're
we're just excited to you know, be involved and give
back in this way.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Yeah, that's incredible. We're doing the Rollertown Open tomorrow, which
is you know, for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. And
you know, obviously this has impacted so many different women
in our community. It's it's a massively important cause to us,
and it's really cool to see you guys step up
like this and your goal is to have Pluckers customers
(02:21):
help you. Guys donate over one hundred thousand dollars in
support of breast cancer awareness, which is just spectacular. So
if somebody's just hearing this, they're like, oh, okay, well
how can I help? I want to help fight breast cancer.
So they just they come in on Wednesday and they
make sure to order a strawberry lemonade. Is that the
best advice?
Speaker 3 (02:41):
That is the best advice, So come in order a
strawberry lemonade or five. And yeah, like I said, all
the proceeds are going to to the Breast Cancer Resource Center.
And then also just like spreading the word. And you know,
if you know a survivor, tell them to come in.
We want to we want to honor them and you know,
let them know that we appreciate their fight and want
(03:02):
to fight with them.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
It's it's so intense that there are so many people
that are impacted by this. I mean, it's I feel
like everybody knows at least one person that has gone
through this or is connected to a family member that's
gone through this. Is that the case with you, guys?
How did y'all get involved in this Kristin.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, I mean, you know, we do. We do.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
We have a we have one of our area managers
actually in the Austin area, is a survivor. She she
won her fight I guess maybe a year or two ago.
And if you want to know more about her story, Amanda,
it's on our social media and our website and stuff
like that, so you can you can kind of hear
about her story. My college roommate actually, who's one of
(03:45):
my best friends, is in her fight right now, and
so it's kind of near and dear to my heart
right now. You know, she she's fighting and she's gonna win.
And you know, I think, like you said, everybody knows somebody.
Everybody's connected to it in some way. So you know,
at Pluckers, we're always trying to think of We're always
trying to meet our guests where they are, and we
(04:06):
care about what they care about.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
