🦖 “Would you visit a real-life Jurassic Park if it actually existed?” That’s the wild question that kicks off this laugh-out-loud episode of The Ben and Skin Show, and the answers from Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray are as unpredictable as a rogue T-Rex on the loose. In this episode’s News Quickie, the crew dives into the release of the new Jurassic Park movie and the mind-blowing poll that reveals how many Americans would risk life and limb to see genetically engineered dinosaurs up close. The conversation spirals into hilarious hypotheticals, including:Krystina’s dream of a herbivore-only park (“Can you not make a park that’s just herbivores and no carnivores?”)The gang also breaks down a surprising bipartisan poll that shows dinosaurs might be the one thing that unites Republicans and Democrats—and how different demographics feel about visiting a real-life dino park. Spoiler: Hispanics are leading the charge for adventure (“They are absolutely looking for action!”).

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Give me that news quickie.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Yeah, let's oh, give.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
It to me.

Speaker 4 (00:07):
The Jurassic Parting movie is being released today. Just go
get today, get ahead of the July fourth weekend. They're
hoping for one hundred million.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Wow. On the domestic side.

Speaker 5 (00:16):
How did my guy Tom do? Again?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Only like seventy eight or eighty or something.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
It was lower than we thought. And I forgot what movie?
Oh it was Lelo and Stitch.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Yeah that beat it. Yeah, but did that have one hundred?

Speaker 4 (00:27):
I think? So?

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Okay, you know it is uh.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
I mean we were talking about a three day weekend
here plus adding in Thursday. Yeah, so Tom was a
three day weekend two it's memorial. Yeah, but it was
competing with another huge release.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Oh yeah yeah. Uh, this is the only huge release
this week. They are expecting F one to do really
good again in week two because it did what about
fifty million. So, but there was a poll that was
that was sent out. You know how poles work, you know,
they get a certain amount of people, and this one
is about them. I from rounding up six thousand US

(00:59):
adult and I can break this down in other demographics.
But the question was if there were a theme park
with live dinosaurs that had been created through genetic engineering,
like Jurassic Park. Would you want to visit it, Christina?
I immediately thought of Christina.

Speaker 6 (01:15):
Yes, Also it depends what type of dinosaurs. But you
would hope that we're not dumb enough to just repeat
the same mistakes that happened in Jurassic Park.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
It's a movie. We all know movies exaggerate quite a bit.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
There's some very lax security guards happening in Jurassic Park.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I think you have to factor that in.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
Look, the whole idea of Jurassic Park is that, yes,
it would be a great tourist attraction, but there's no
way to contain them and they will eventually get out
and eat you. So the question for you, Christina is yes,
can you get to the park and visit it before
they lose control of the park and the dinosaurs start
eating everyone?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Well?

Speaker 6 (01:50):
Can you not make a park that's just herbivores and
no carnivores?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
No? What about keV I guess.

Speaker 6 (01:56):
I mean we've got zoos. How often the lines and
bears get out of zoos?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:01):
And what about when you visit the pterodactyl dome? Yeah,
you can't where they're just flying around.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
It's way. That's a good point. There's a pterodactyl dome.
But would the zoo be as interesting as it is
if there weren't lions and tigers, Like is it interesting
to just go look at the herbivores. I think in
the future will have people in cages and it'll be like, oh,
look there's there's the working class Planet of the Apes style.

Speaker 6 (02:26):
We kind of already are in cages, right and we
have people walk by in the studio.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Yeah, hi looking through the window, poppet.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, like they're Charlotte Jones Anderson and where John, They're
John bon Jovi hanging out.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
I think it is guaranteed that if you and this
will happen eventually, rightly, we'll clone dinosaurs and there will
be dinosaurs that will exist eventually, and life will imitate
art in that in that regard. But it unquestionably if
they make the Torontosaurus rex, it will.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Break out, break out of the cage. How big is
the t rex?

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Is the torontoannosaurs which they're from Canada, the Toronto Saurus rex.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
And I totally forgot Cavanaugh. Jeff Kavanaugh, our former colleague,
hat is gone out of his way to disparage the
Torontosaurus rex. Is anyone here in that camp too that
thinks that they suck?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
No, I never spend any time thinking about dinosaurs.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
I'm gonna say no. But but but I will say
the logic behind the logic behind his theory is good.
The logic is that they're armed, they have no reach,
so that other animals that have a better reach than
them would be able to defeat them.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
Box mouth, Yeah, they're doing curls, bunches.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Dude, it can reach you with its razor sharp teeth.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
And giant mouths, kind of giant neck, long neck, long neck,
the hell out of you.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
I'm more likely to believe that the fossils that were
all found, you know, and then kind of pieced together,
that the dinosaurs didn't really look like that. That we
have scientists over the last few generations who have had
their little puzzle pieces and they've made these dinosaurs after
what we think they are.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
The guy who drives away from tornado, I think no
mu into safety.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Yeah, I know I'm saying, but like the museum museums
that have is right, But how many you know places
it's got keep dinosaurs are dinosaur bones that aren't in
actual museums.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Yep, there's they're everywhere. They don't believe in the dinosaurs.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
I do. I just don't think they are as beautifully
depicted as we are imagining it from watching TV growing
up and seeing Jurassic Park, I think, what do you
think they are?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
They do look different. No, you're right. I mean like
the skin for sure, big lizards. We don't know if.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
They're scales or if they have feathers, like they're still
figuring that out.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
You're right on that part.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I think every dinosaur was feathered.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
I think they're pretty ugly. Okay, so twenty nine percent
said they would go. Now, if you break down.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Low number, I thought it'd be like, hell yeah, because
it's so easy to answer answer a question for something
that will never happen.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
I want to say this. Republicans and Democrats agreed at
the same about thirty three percent.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Of ISAAC see Dinosaurs bringing us together?

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Skined, No, I love a bipartisan poll.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Now, this one surprised me a little bit because I
will say there's something about dinosaurs and that going to
a Jurassic Park situation. Maybe it's just because it's been
all white people in the movies. It's not a white
people thing to do. Twenty five percent of white people
said they would, thirty five percent of black people said
they would. Let's go, forty two percent hispanics. Dude, hispanics

(05:39):
are looking for action at all times. Yeah, they are
absolutely looking for action. And you break it down by gender, Christina, Yeah,
thirty five percent of males said they would, twenty three
percent of females.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Ah, my daughter was trying to back out of a
kayaking trip earlier, so that makes.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Some simpy Oh no, that's so fun. All right, there
you have at the news quickie. Would you go to
an actual Jurassic Park coming out next? What does Vegas
think the MAVs odds are to win it all next season?
That's coming your way in just over three minutes.
