Speaker 1 (00:01):
Kamala Harris wasn't in attendance at last night's Al Smith
Dinner in New York on Thursday night. She did offer
a video consolation to the attendees. Instead, Harris enlisted actress
Molly Shannon, who received her beloved Satay Night Live character
that she decided to bring out of retirement, the Catholic

(00:22):
schoolgirl Mary Katherine Gallagher if you've ever watched SNL. In
the video, Harris began by speaking about Al Smith Dinner,
a tradition each election season where the presidential candidates roast
each other and themselves. As she speaks, Shenon runs behind
her as Mary Katherine Gallagher and says things like, Hey,

(00:43):
what's going on? Harris says, who is that? Harris then
invites Mary Catherine to help her writer speech for the dinner,
which she describes as an important tradition that she decided
to skip and is so proud to be a part of. Saying,
my feelings about what you should say tonight would be
best express in a monologue from one of my favorite
made for TV series, Shannon replies. She then goes in

(01:07):
to explain that she believes that you need a woman
to represent the country that that is what this is
all about. I'm going to play it for you, but
I want to have the context for you to understood
exactly what you're listening to. Again, skipping the dinner didn't
go over well with the attendees, but this is the
video she put out on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
And distinguished guests. The Al Smith dinner provides a rare
opportunity to set aside partisanship.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I'm sorry, sorry, what's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Who was that?

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Sorry?

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Mary cokethan Elli Ry coming.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Very nice to meet you, Mary Catherine. Right now, I'm
trying to record my speech for tonight's dinner.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Oh yeah, I know. I just want to say that
I'm Catholic and tonight is one of the biggest dinners
next to the Last Supper.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
It is a very important dinner, and it's an important
tradition that I'm so proud to be a part of.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Sometimes when I get nervous, I stick my fingers on
in my arms and I swim on them like that.
That's gross.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
So tell me something. I'm giving a speech. You have
some thoughts about what I might say tonight.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
My feelings about what you say tonight would be best
express in a monologue. From one of my favorite made
for TV series. Okay, let's hear it, don't you see? Men,
we need a woman to represent us. A woman brings
more heart, more compassion, and think how smart you must
be to become a top contender in a field dominated
by men.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
It's time for a woman, bro.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
And with this woman, we can fly.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
What series was that from?

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Oh that's from House of Dragons, now streaming on HBO Max.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Is there anything that you think that maybe I shouldn't
bring up tonight?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Well, don't lie. Thou shalt not bear a false witness
to thy neighbor.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Indeed, especially thy neighbor's election results.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Just you know there will be a fact checker there tonight.
Oh that's great, Who Jesus? And maybe don't say anything
negativebout Catholics.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
I would never do that no matter where I was.
That would be like criticizing Detroit.

Speaker 7 (03:06):
In Detroit.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Does it bother you that that trunk guy insults you
all the time, Because it really bothers my friends and me.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Oh, Mary Catherine, it's very important to always remember you
should never let anyone tell you who you are. You
tell them who you are.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Hater's gonna hate, hate, hate, shake it off, Shake it off,
shake it off, shake it off. Oh yeah, okay. And
also remember one more thing, don't worry if you make
a mistake because Catholic people are very forgiving. Yeah. And
also one last thing I want to tell you, don't
forget to say superstar.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Thank you Mary, Catherine, thank you, Mama La, Thank you
your eminence and distinguished guests. The Al Smith Dinner provides
a rare opportunity to set aside partisanship and come together
to do some good by supporting the tremendous charitable work
of the Catholic Church. The church cares for the sick

(04:01):
and feeds the hungry, supports families with housing and education,
and in times of disaster, provides not only essential supplies
but also, in so importantly a sense of hope. The
Gospel of Luke tells us that faith has the power
to shine a light on those living in darkness and

(04:23):
to guide our feet in the path of peace. In
the spirit of Tonight's dinner, let us recommit to reaching
across divides to seek understanding and common ground, And in
honor of the Great Al Smith, let us fight to
build a better future with faith in God, our country

(04:47):
and in each other, Thank you, May God bless you,
and may God bless the United States of America.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I mean, what makes me laugh is this is like
three and a half minutes where they try to make
it funny. The number of moments that Kama Harris is
funny would be like, I think it's fair to say
zero minutes of that time. And then she brings in,
which is a funny bit from Saturday Night Live, right,
this character to advise her on how.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
To be funny, and it just didn't work.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Now, the attendees were unimpressed with the fact that she
missed such an important tradition. Now, she didn't miss it
by accident. This was done on purpose. I think she
was afraid, Okay, I really do. I think she was

(05:41):
afraid that she would bomb Donald Trump. However, went in
there and just killed it. He had even Democrats laughing.
And when you get a opportunity to just own the
room as he did, it was pretty impressed to watch
him roast many Democrats in the room, many Democratic leaders

(06:04):
from New York, including who was sitting to his left
right in front of him, Chuck Schumer.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
That was actually hysterical.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Some of it I can't even play for you because
some of the words are not appropriate for radio, but
nonetheless absolutely hilarious.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
This is I think the difference.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
The big difference here is Donald Trump yet again shows up,
Kamala Harris yet again hides, especially after what happened.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
With her interview with Brett Baer.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
I would have thought they would have wanted to make
sure that they went to this. I think the video
of it of her being funny, unless they just said, hey,
there's no way she can be funny, so we're just
gonna bail. And honestly, that may be part of it.
They may have just said, look, you're not funny. We
need to have a scripted video that makes it look
like you're funny. And that's how we're gonna put this

(07:00):
off like that, We're just gonna We're gonna do it
that way. I still think it was a bad decision.
I think if you're running for president and there's these
certain traditions, like you got to rise to the occasion,
like you just do you gotta you got to rise
the occasions, You got to be fired up, and look,
that room is liberal, it's in New York, for goodness sakes.

(07:20):
They would have given her cover. But when you just
don't show up, it doesn't go well. Like I mean,
it's a recipe for disaster when you don't show up.
I want to take a moment and tell you about
us a product that very well could help save your
life and actually the life of someone else at the
very same time.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
And it deals with personal protection.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
There is a massive increase in crime and violence around
our country, and we need to remember that personal safety
and security for you and your family is the most
important thing in life. Now, I wouldn't be here right
now if it wasn't for having a firearm that I
had to use it to literally save my life when
I was under attack from two attackers. And I know

(08:06):
just how fast it can happen and how important it
is to protect yourself. And that's why I talk about
this so often. Now, what if there was a way
to effectively defend yourself and de escalate a situation without
having to use the irreversible consequence as a deadly force.
I've grappled with that issue many times. Well, now there

(08:28):
is another option, so you don't have to worry about
pulling the trigger or worrying about the financial or mental repercussions.
You don't have to compromise on your peace of mind,
and that is because of the Burna less lethal pistol launcher.
Let me say this, if you have children that are

(08:48):
eighteen or older, if you have a mother in law,
a sister in law, a wife, this may be the
perfect thing for them. A Burna can save two lives.
It is a great compliment to owning firearms, and if
you or your family is in a situation where you
feel threatened, then you can start with less lethal. It
is legal in all fifty states. No permits or background

(09:11):
checks are needed.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Now.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
I own these myself, and I got them for every
one of my family members that I just mentioned, because
that is how important it is to be able to
protect yourself. The burn A launcher has powerful determines like
tear gas and connect grounds and a sixty foot range.
One shot can incapacitate attackers for up to forty minutes.
It is used by government agencies and law enforcement around

(09:33):
the country. So visit Burna dot com, slash ferguson for
ten percent off your purchase. That's by r Inna dot com.
Slash ferguson for ten percent off that's by r Inna
dot com. Slash Ferguson for ten percent off your first purchase.

(09:53):
Brettbear explained more of the backstory of how things kind
of went down in this interval. Not only was Kamala
Harris purposely late because they were planning on doing this
interview taped to live. Basically, they were going to start
at five o'clock and then air it at six, so
as soon as the interview was ending, it was up

(10:14):
on the air. With the beginning, Kamala Harris was running
out the clock, showing up late for the interview on
purpose to basically minimize the amount of time he could
ask questions, and then four of her staffers losing their
minds trying to get Brettbair to wrap the interview because
it wasn't going well. There's a little more backstory on.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
This, Dana.

Speaker 8 (10:38):
I'll give you a little behind the scenes here. I
know you love this and it fits in with Dana
read sports. You know when the kicker in football, they
call a timeout right before he's going to kick the
field goal. They're icing the kicker. So we were supposed
to start at five pm. This was the time they
gave us. Originally, we're going to do twenty five or

(10:59):
thirty minutes, it came in and said, well, maybe twenty,
so it was already getting whittled down. And then the
Vice president showed up about five point fifteen. We were
pushing the envelope to be able to turn it around
for the.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Top of the six o'clock.

Speaker 8 (11:14):
So that's how it started. And I could tell when
we started talking that she was going to be tough
to to, you know, redirect without me trying to interrupt.
I did this with President Obama. At one point I
just said, mister President, I know you liked the filibuster.
I just didn't even have the chance to sometimes redirect

(11:35):
in those ways.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
I had a lot of other questions.

Speaker 9 (11:38):
Yeah, so what a missed opportunity for them, right, So,
I don't know what she had before. I know she
had that one event right before. But what's more important
than this interview today on your campaign schedule? If your
goal as a candidate at this point is to win
the day when the new cycle of the day, then
your interview with Fox is arguably your most important issue.

(11:58):
And I think you could tell at the end that
you were having to rush through it so that you
could get to the top of the show, and you
were trying to be respectful of their time, but it
would have been really interesting for her to be able
to say to her team, no, no, let's keep going, Brett,
what else do you have?

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Right?

Speaker 9 (12:15):
And let it keep going?

Speaker 1 (12:18):
I couldn't agree, by the way, more like, what are
you doing? Like, I'm not kidding when I say this,
what are you doing? Why do an interview? Cut it short?
Don't do the interview well?

Speaker 10 (12:33):
Like?

Speaker 1 (12:35):
And then you think that the American people are going
to respond in a positive light to you. It's the
best way I can describe it as delusional. And the interview,
by the way, was a disaster. Like I don't care
what anybody says about this interview. This interview was a disaster.

(12:56):
Donald Trump is a guy that does interviews pretty much anybody.
And you look at Harris not going to the dinner
last night. Even this morning on CNN, Smercanis was saying,
she blew it. So not only did she limit her
interview and make herself look like an amateur on Fox,

(13:18):
she then missed the dinner.

Speaker 7 (13:21):
Michael, would you make it the dinner last night?

Speaker 11 (13:23):
So I've given the props to the Vice president already
because of that. Brett Pear interview. Now, let me tell
you that I think that she blew it by not
being there. She should have been there. Humor can be
such an effective political tool. I thought that Donald Trump
misread the room. I thought that he was undisciplined and
mostly unfunny. That editing of what you just showed was

(13:45):
very sympathetic to Trump because those were his absolute best lines,
and in most other instances he just missed the market.
It was cringe worthy and it was unnecessarily nasty. He
blew an opportunity.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
As well to come in.

Speaker 11 (13:59):
Hey, respect to the cardinal, be funny, keep it above board.
He should have taken a page from Jim Gaffigan. Gaffigan
was hysterical and set the right tone for a night
like that.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Now, no doubt about it that Smerconna s hates Trump, right,
so he's got to criticize. But he did say, and
if you listen, Harris blew it by not attending the
Al Smith dinner. Humor can be such an effective political tool.
He's absolutely right. But when you don't trust your candidate,
this is what ends up happening, you know. Al Sharpton

(14:31):
said of Trump's Al Smith dinner remarks, which were hilarious.
And this is what they do every time, no matter
who you are, they'd say, oh, you're offensive and you're
you're awful. Rights, that's who you are. You're offensive and
you're terrible. Donald Trump sucks like I expect this, but
she wasn't there either, and that hurt her.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
I think even more.

Speaker 10 (14:51):
I think there's been clear for those of us that
have known and dealt with Donald Trump, throw and Colin
for years that he is really, in many ways not
the Donald Trump that we fought or that we dealt with.
No energy, there no sound bites that make sense. He's
lost it, and I think that it's almost like pushing

(15:12):
an old boxer back in the ring that you know
he can't fight, but just tell them to hold on
to the tenth round, and they're trying to make him
hold on and he just doesn't have it. He's sitting
in the stool saying, I don't want to go back
out there. I mean, last night his appearance at the
alfredy Smith dinner was ridiculous. It was offensive and it
was way off the mark. And I think that him

(15:34):
canceling the shade is in many ways saying there's a
shade on his whole campaign.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
That's the attack you're going to get.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
And that's when you know they're losing because they're like, well, Donald,
Notice how now age is everything right there?

Speaker 6 (15:49):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (15:50):
Donald Trump's old? He's losing it right.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
They're using the same lines that we actually saw the
cognitive decline of Joe Biden, and they couldn't use those
lines because Joe Biden was still in the race. Now
that he's out, like, oh, he's old, right, Karen Finny
getting the memo on CNN saying the same thing. Do
you want a stable leader handling these global conflicts or
a little unhinged Trump? So this is their closing argument.

(16:15):
Karen Finny is a CNN political commentator. They must have
all gotten their talking points in the last twenty four
hours that Okay, we've got to go back to trying
to turn Trump into an unhinged individual, and we're just
gonna say it over and over again, and maybe the
voters will believe us because that's our new lie.

Speaker 7 (16:33):
But more importantly, here's what I do think matters when
people are thinking about these global conflicts, and the more
we are seeing, like we saw last night, unhinged Donald
Trump going off on random tangents, profanitely lace rants. He
seems less stable, and even in twenty sixteen, one of
the things we found in the polling consistently, even though

(16:57):
people said they were going to vote for him and
they liked him, they were nervous about him having his
hand on the nuclear codes. And so I do think
what these conflicts remind people is do you want a
stable leader or do you.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
Want somebody who's coming on little unghinge, who's not going
to have the same kind of guardrails around him, frankly
to keep him in check.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
We know how he said he wants to lose our military.
They've said that, you know, his own military, his own
advisors have said he is a national security danger. So
I think that also comes into play here.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
There's the narrative for the next twenty days. Donald Trump
is unhinged. They used it in the last election. It
seemed to work, and so now they're doing the exact
same thing now. Bob Woodwards out with a new book,
same thing. What does he say, same thing?

Speaker 5 (17:56):
Right? A little unhinged here, little unhinged.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
I'm not surprised, Okay, I'm not I'm not surprised at all.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
That this is where we are.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
And you know, Donnie Deutscher whatever his name is, on
MSNBC he said Trump will turn the US into hungry
and said, oh, the he's going to become a dictator,
by the way, I know, I know Victor Orbun sat
with him several times in Budapest.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
Not a dictator.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
He does, by the way, like like closed borders and
doesn't think that you should have illegal immigrants running him up.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
That's that's that's true.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
He has order in his state and people hate that,
and so they're like, oh, this guy's radically, he's extremist,
he's crazy, and you just got to laugh. You've got
to laugh when this stuff happens, because it is, in
fact that funny. Yesterday, in that conversation that took place
with Brett Bher and Kamala Harris, there is one moment

(18:57):
that is really continuing to go viral, and it is
about the impact of legal immigration in this country and
those that have died because the policies.

Speaker 8 (19:07):
Take a listen, Joscelyn Mungarry, Rachel morin lacln Riley. They
are young women who were brutally assaulted and killed by
some of the men who were released at the beginning
of the administration, well before a negotiated bipartisan bill. Former
President Clinton actually referred to Lake and Riley Sunday campaigning
for you, and Georgie is saying, if those men had

(19:28):
been properly vetted, Lake and Riley probably would not have
been killed.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
So if it wouldn't have happened, this.

Speaker 8 (19:35):
Is well before any negotiation, This is well before Donald
Trump got involved in the politics. This is a specific
policy decision by your administration to release these men into
the country. So what I'm saying to you, do you
know those families? I think an apology.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Let me just say, first of all, those are tragic cases.
There's no question about that. There's no question about that.
And I can to imagine the pain that the families
of those victims have experienced for a loss that should
not have occurred. So that is true. It is also

(20:14):
true that if a board of security had actually been
passed nine months ago, it would be nine months that
we would have had more border agents at the border,
more support for the folks who are working around the
clock trying to hold it all together.

Speaker 8 (20:30):
Madam President, ensure that.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
No future harm would occur, and this election in twenty
days will determine whether we have a president of the
United States who actually cares more about fixing a problem,
even if it is not to their political advantage in
an election. Because there was a solution, Bret.

Speaker 8 (20:51):
Madam, Vice President, it was a policy decision in the
early part of your administration. I will let one of
the mothers talk about it. Take a listen.

Speaker 12 (21:00):
Because of the Biden Harris administration open border policies catch
and release, they were enrolled in the Alternatives to Detention program.
This meant that they were released into the United States.
It was not even a full three weeks later that
they would take my daughter, Joscelyn Ungery's life.

Speaker 10 (21:17):
I believe the.

Speaker 12 (21:18):
Biden Harris administration open border policies are responsible for the
death of my daughter.

Speaker 8 (21:24):
That's the early days. So do you owe them an apologies?

Speaker 2 (21:28):
I shall tell you that I am so sorry for
her loss. I am so sorry for her loss sincerely,
But let's talk about what is happening right now with
an individual who does not want to participate in solutions.
Let's talk about that as well. I want to answer,

(21:49):
in all fairness, I told you I feel awful for
what she and her family had experienced during that time.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Notice there's no apology. It's very clear she's not gonna
admit that her policy of open borders and allowing millions
of people to come in this country illegally is a
policy that she is going to say, Hey, yeah, I
really screwed that up. Like it's not gonna happen. Because

(22:17):
when you're fundamentally trying to change this country, this is
exactly what you do. And if you think she's going
to change your policy, if she's elected in twenty plus days,
you're wrong. She's clearly not going to She's made that clear.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
I'm not changing. You're not gonna force me to change.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
I may lie to you, i may tell you something different,
I may point in a different direction, but at the
end of the day, I'm not doing it right, at
the end of the day, I'm not changing.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
That is what I'm not going to do.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
And I think you can clearly hear that she is
defiant even when the worst stories come out, even when
things get tough.

Speaker 8 (23:12):
You know, voters tell polsters all over the country and
here in Pennsylvania that immigration is one of the key
issues that they're looking at this election, and specifically the
influx of illegal immigrants from more than one hundred and
fifty countries. How many illegal immigrants would you estimate your
administration has released into the country over the last three

(23:33):
and a half years.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Well, I'm glad you raised the issue of immigration because
I agree with you it is it is a topic
of discussion that people.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
Want to rightly have.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
And you know what I'm going to talk about.

Speaker 8 (23:44):
Yeah, but do you're just a number? Do you think
it's one million, three million?

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Rt Let's just get to the point, okay. The point
is that we have a broken immigration system that needs
to be repaired.

Speaker 8 (23:56):
So your Homeland Security secretary said that eighty five percent
of apprehension.

Speaker 7 (24:00):
I'm not finished.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
We have we have some of six.

Speaker 8 (24:03):
Million people have been released into the country, and let
me just finish. I'll get you the question.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
I promise you. I was beginning to answer.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
And when you.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Can hear it there like she's not backing down, and
she wasn't answering the question. And he's like, how many
millions have you led into this country with your policies?
And do you regret that decision of letting in millions
and millions and millions? And that's not an exaggeration of
illegal immigrants coming to this country when people are suffering.

(24:34):
One of the questions I wish a journalist would ask.
And this is not a critique of Brett Beer, because
he did an amazing job. I'm just saying in general,
one of the questions that I wish was asked would
be this, what do you say to all the Americans

(24:55):
who are having a really hard time, a really hard
time trying to find affordable housing when they're competing with
ten million, eleven million, twelve million, fifteen million illegal immigrants
for housing. Many of the people that supported you and

(25:18):
support you are having a hard time finding affordable housing.
So what do you say to them as they're out
there competing with millions and millions of legal immigrants.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
For that housing?

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Like, that's not I don't believe a political question that
that for me, is just an honest, real world question
that should be applied to anybody that is running for
office when this is what they are saying, and this
is what they believe in, and this is what they
are doing. She can't answer that question. And these are

(25:54):
the types of questions that need to be asked.

Speaker 8 (25:57):
So decriminalizing border cross things like you said in twenty nineteen.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
I do not believe in decriminalizing border crossings, and I've
not done that as vice president. I will not do
that as president.

Speaker 8 (26:09):
So these are ass that you've had.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Well, let's be very clear. I'm the only person who's
running for president who is prosecuted transnational criminal organizations, from
the Sinaloa cartel to the Guadalajara quote cartel to people
who have trafficked in guns, drugs, and human beings. I
have spent a significant part of my career going after

(26:31):
people who present a threat to the safety of the
American people and cross our border with the intent of
doing US harm and cross our border illegally, and I
will do that work as vice president. I take that
work quite seriously.

Speaker 8 (26:46):
This is a time when vote.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
I mean, listen to what she said, and believe her.
She said it. He quoted her accurately. You want to
decriminalize people come across the border illegally. That is what
you've said, That's what you've advocated for, that is what.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
You've wanted to do.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
Comedian Jim Gaffagin addressing the Al Smith dinner last night,
he had some pretty good one liners for you, including
this one.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Yeah, this has been an interesting presidential campaign. But Democrats
have been telling us Trump Trump's reelection is a threat
to democracy. In fact, they were so concerned of this
threat they staged a coup, ousted there democratically elected incumbent
and installed Kamala Harris. In other words, all her dreams

(27:41):
have come true. It really makes you consider the power
of prayer, right, Cardinal, Sometimes prayers take three and a
half years and a George Clooney op ed, I don't
know who's angry, but I don't care anyway, can I

(28:03):
point out? So it's a you know, I think I
should get right to you know.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
It's I love by the way that he actually did that,
because it's the truth, right, It just makes me laugh,
like it's so abundantly clear. He also he said that
and again go back this line. Dems have been so
concerned about Trump, they threatened democracy, about Trump's threatening democracy

(28:35):
that they staged a coup. Jim also took a shot
at the Democrats for just getting rid of Joe Biden.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
This, of course, is a Catholic event honoring Governor Al Smith,
who in nineteen twenty eight was the first Catholic to
run on a major party to put that in perspective.
In nineteen twenty eight, Chuck Schumer was a first term senator.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
Thanks for sitting here, Chuck.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Of course, Joe Biden was our second Catholic president, right
after JFK. President. Biden couldn't be here tonight. The DNC
made sure of that. Oh, oh that's I guess I'm

(29:33):
the only one that reads history.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
I love, by the way, then mocks the ones that
Booty's like, Oh, I guess I'm the only one that
reads history. Yes, Jim also making another point about Catholic voters.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
You know, this event has been referred to as the
Catholic met Gala of Americans identify as Catholic. Catholics will
be a key demographic in every battle ground state. I'm sorry,
why is Vice President Harris not here?

Speaker 5 (30:20):
I mean, consider this.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
This is a room full of Catholics and Jews in
New York City. This is a layup for the Democratic nominee.
I mean in her defense, I mean she did find
time to appear on the View Howard Stern, Colbert and

(30:43):
the longtime staple of campaigning to call her Daddy podcast.
You know what I think it is. I think she
doesn't like me. Chuck, do I have bad breath?

Speaker 13 (31:01):
You know?

Speaker 4 (31:02):
But I love New York City.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
I mean, he was relentlessly pointing out the obvious, right
like he was like that, that's just exactly. This is
one of those moments where he told truth to a
room full of powerful people that are honestly scumbags who

(31:24):
did stage a coup, and then mocked the fact that
like this is a woman's like this. Catholics are key
demographic and she couldn't shop tonight. It's too busy doing
interviews and call her daddy Donald Trump on Kama's absence.
This is what he said about that.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
Listen, it's changed the name this way.

Speaker 13 (31:44):
What you know they it is Democrat. But I must
say I was shocked when I heard that Kamala was
skipping the Al Smith dinner. I'd really hope that she
would come, because we can't get enough of hearing her
beautiful laugh. She laughs like crazy. We would recognize at
any place in this room, and all poles are indicating

(32:05):
I'm leading big with the Catholic vote, as I should be,
as I should be. But I don't think Kamala has
given up yet. She hasn't. Instead of attending tonight she's
in Michigan receiving communion from Gretchen Whitmer. That's not a

(32:26):
pretty sight. But Catholics, please don't be too insulted by
Kamala's absence. If the Democrats, thank you very much. I
appreciate it. The Democrats really wanted to have someone not
be with us.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
I love the fact that he's just like, yeah, I'm here,
she's not. I'm going to torch this room and just
burn it down. It's just amazing, it really is. I
three five nine seven three two five three five nine
seven three two one four seven four nine seven three

(33:08):
two one. Last thing that was said was this about
it was a pleasure to be invited. As Donald Trump
put it, Listen, that's not an.

Speaker 13 (33:19):
Easy thing to do, especially when your name is Trump
and you're on the New York Times list. I think
that thing I must be selling like hotcakes. But thank
you for match. I appreciate. Good job you did it.
That's a true pleasure to be with you this evening.
Amazing pleasure. And these days it's really a pleasure anywhere
in New York without a subpoena for my appearance anytime,

(33:46):
I don't get a subpoena. I'm very happy they've gone
after me, mister.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Like I just love the humor and the accuracy of it.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
It's so accurate. It is just in regredibly accurate. I
love it. I absolutely love it.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
