This is the Big Bend Outdoor Showwith Joel Baldry. Today's guest include Captain
Paul Tyre, Captain Kenny Mullins andspecial guest Dale Bessie. Here's your host,
Joel Baldry. Hi, guys, welcome to the baby An Outdoor Show.
I am back. You no longerhave to worry about fine running the

(00:21):
show. Oh I'm still gonna getyou. Yeah. Pat mcgraff got scared
he heard I was coming, sohe didn't show up this week. But
Kenny man, this weather's been crazy, hot, hot, hot, brutal
bro what's the what's the weather lookinglot for this weekend? On the fourth,
So like usual, we got achance to rain right in Florida,

(00:43):
but today is fifty percent chancell rain, and Sunday is sixty percent chance.
Today's lowest seventy nine, high inninety five, and tomorrow's Sunday is a
low of seventy eight, high ofeighty nine, so not too bad.
What's the tide's gonna be this again? All right? So we're you know,
we're coming into a new moon.So we got a low at eight

(01:06):
point fifty nine AM at one pointsixty four and a high three point seven
to one at two point fifty one, and Sunday is a low at nine
thirty seven one point four to sevenfeet and a high at three point thirty
at three point seven eight feet. However, the evening tides that go in

(01:29):
dropping off from that high at threepoint seven eight. At eleven PM it
goes down to a negative zero pointone six. So we have a ton
of water movement in the evenings. That's good fishing. Oh yeah, I
like that new moon. They're gonnabite fresh water. Oh yeah, they
won't be feending not as much.Yeah, And they bite good New Moon
and full moon on saltwater. Becauseyou have a lot of water movement.

(01:51):
We go speaking of the movements andstuff. What about old DJ Phillips we
got here? Come on, Icalled him out rather, I thought we
were right rather when we was talkingabout tides and weather. Introduce yourself,
brother, This is our guest onthe show today, y'all. Yes,
my name is djfield Slow. Iwork with a lot of people here in
Tellahise. You have been DJing sinceprobably about nineteen ninety eight. Tell us

(02:14):
a little bit of what you do. I do. Let's see here we
do a little bit of a mixing, a little bit of lights, a
little bit, a little bit ofeverything. We've got stages, we've got
lights, we've got speakers, we'vegot anything you want. We set up
anywhere you'd like to go. We'remobile and we can bring the stage out
to you. That's right. Yeah, he does a hell of a job.
He's coming to the show Friday nightat JAYRS. He's going set up

(02:35):
there a little bit of something.Last time he went all out. He
had speakers everywhere. You could hearus in the next county over. So
what's going on? So what's goingon Friday night? We got Kensey Whiller
coming back. He's done played onetime at the show. You know,
it's Eaxtra weekend going on, andwe still I think we had a one
hundred and sixty hundred and seventy people. It's a pretty good turnout for being
Eastra week and everybody traveling, sowe didn't get to advertise much this time.

(02:58):
But I think it's going to be, you know, still be a
decent turnout hopefully, and we're gonnahave a corn whole tournament stuff like that
going on at the same time,so it's gonna be pretty wild hopefully,
yeah, kill, and we gotMad Metcalf. He's gonna be playing with
him too, so we're gonna havea little mixture of a little bit of
raspy voice versus old school country,so it'd be something to see. I
had to call him out there.I'm sorry I had to call you out

(03:20):
right. I put you on thespot real quick. But you used to
the radio talk, so it shouldn'teven hesitate you much. Yeah. Man,
this this weather, you know, the hurricanes is it's already like,
what's that one? It's a categoryfive now, I mean it's fishing to
hit you make a head on.Yeah, I haven't even been paying attention.
Well, I'm paying attention real closebecause I don't want it to hook
back. I've just been I've beentoo busy. I've been too busy catching

(03:43):
fish or Oh so, so sinceyou brought that up, you know,
yesterday I took someone that you normallytake and I actually put him on his
very first trout. Uh no,he's caught traut with me. Oh no,
no, no, no, hangon, hang on. You to
hear this one, Paul. Yougot to hear this one, Paul.
So he told me yesterday that hecaught his very first trout with me.

(04:06):
He's went trout fishing with Joel numeroustimes and always caught sailcats. This is
honest, to God's truth. Thisis what he told me that every time
Joel takes him trout fishing, allthey catch his sail cats. So he
thought a sail cat was a trout. Honest guy, You're such a bad
liar on that he listens to theshow, So I am dead serious.

(04:30):
I told him that I was goingto bring this up today. He said
he's gotten to listen to the show, but he said it was his first
trut. He did give Joel credit. He did say that Joel has put
him on Redfish. And I heardsomething about having to get out of the
airboat and push it out. Pushthe airboat when it missed the trail.
You know, it is always anadventure. But look at him down.

(04:57):
Yeah, I know that was theball face like, because I've never stepped
out of my airboat. I don'tmiss no trails and I catch fish.
Hang on, hang on, Ididn't say it was your airboat though,
Well, who the hell's everybody?I don't know that they went out gigging
the night before and uh, whoeverwho was running the air boat missed the

(05:20):
trail, then they had to itgot stuck on dry land. They had
to get out and push it.Oh, at first I thought it was
you, and he said, no, it wasn't, Joel. We don't
push mine. But a true storyhe did about the cats. Yeah,
he could talk about the sailcats allhe wants to. Kenny Mullins has got

(05:40):
the record for catching catfish. Ididn't want to hear ship and you crap
crap, I said, crap, bleep that out. But uh they did.
They did catch quite a few fish. Though. Look, I'm gonna
tell you the honest truth. Youcannot trust anybody that reels a real backwards
anyway. He said, it's notbackwards, up down. He told me

(06:00):
to get you straight on that.He really does. It's a left handed
right So so I asked him,do you guys really the left hand or
right hand, because you know everyonegets on the boats different. He said,
uh, left handed, but upsidedown. So he literally was holding
the rod upside down and he wouldcast with his thumb on the line like
like you'd push buttons up co andI looked at him. I said Joel
has not straightened you out yet.I'd never mind. Joel reels the wrong

(06:24):
hand too, and we're just aboutto spinning reel. Yes, okay,
yeah, Hey, I give himcredit. He catch fish with it.
I know there was a guy whoused to being in a bass club.
We started up there on Lake someoneOn. He would fish the real upside
down and man, every one timehe ein like twenty eight pounds five past.
Yeah. Well, all those guyswere throwing the reels upside down.
Yeah, he said. Everyone givesthem a hard time about it, and

(06:46):
say they are talking to him everytime I said something I would I mean
I wouldn't cut in just like. And his daddy of course was giving him
heck too. And that's what hesaid. His dad is a hard time
about it. He don't he don'tdo nothing. But if he didn't catch
track, which I know he didcatch on my boat, his mom and
daddy the reason he didn't catch thembecause they were catching them all because when

(07:08):
he was here it was the peaktime. Hey, they did catch some
fish yesterday. It was it wasgood and small red fish. I seen
him. Listeners could see it.But the grease would burn them up.
Yeah, photoshop. Okay, thesedays and times, all photoshop stuff.

(07:30):
I didn't think about that, idn'tye. See they have guys, yeah
they Joel doesn't know. He's beenin Texas learned learn how to catch fish
with Kenny. Oh yeah, that'ssome big What was that big basket kid
called last Friday? Okay, Joel, have you been able to do any

(07:53):
fishing? I know you've been busyworking. No, I've been in Illinois.
Y'all know where I've been out.Oh, I thought you was in
Texas up there in Democrats State.I wasn't in Texas. We just told
everyone Texas over there, you learnhow to catfish with Kenny. Okay,
I got you catfish Kenny. Yeah. No, I was up there helping
a buddy of mine. He's anowns National sign Tech. You know,
one of our big sponsors, ifyou would know that. But we put

(08:16):
up the hockey Rena stadium. Wedid the jumbo tron there and the ribbon
board around it. So it waspretty good to get back into it.
But I don't miss it, allthat heavy lifting and fighting around them blinchers
and everything else. But like Isaid, you get to see a lot
of stuff working with them guys andthey go all over like he had a
job going on in New Orleans,Texas, in which that's probably what you
heard me say. He was workingat the University of Texas and New Orleans

(08:39):
Saints. So and then they fishingto go to Indianapolis coach. So they
don't never stop til football season kicksoff and it kind of slows down a
little bit and they start doing basketballthen. So it's it's it's definitely something
different. But like I said,I don't miss it. Come home for
a day and I went home long. Yeah, I seen you had some
boating lessons. Yeah, yeah,I got some good boating lesson seven hundred

(09:00):
thousand dollars. But yeah, youknow, we was talking a while back
about a yellow fan. Well weain't going with the yellow fan. The
yellow fan got kicked back. Wewent with something bigger, you know,
forty four foot contender with a quadYamaha's for twenty five's And I was trying
to get it home yesterday. Iprobably wouldn't have been here today if they
could have had them seats put inthe front. But they couldn't get the

(09:22):
seats back in time. They justgot them installed. Well, I guess
I'd have still been leaving late. And you can't get through that pass and
go through Okachovie unless you hit ita certain time, right, And plus
I had to be back at fiveo'clock to pick you know, Tyson up,
and if I wouldn't have been therethen and hit it, threw down.
So now we're gonna wait till Saturdaymorning and try it again. As
long as that hurricane and turned backto wardus, we need to keep all

(09:43):
the fans on going going west rather. Yeah, we we sure don't need
another snuff this way. We don'tneed especially as hot as the golf is
right now. It is as hotwell, I mean just imagine it's a
category five now, so what wouldit be when it hit her golf?
Yeah? Is that a level ten? Yeah? Yeah? I mean this

(10:05):
morning I was fishing in six feetof water and the surface temp was ninety
one degrees. There ain't no doubt, that's what you know. I told
everybody, like last year, youknow, when I do you hit Everybody's
like, oh it's I said,I don't care how shallow it is whatever.
That water temperature is hot, andI said, it has suck every
bit of it out. Oh yeah, it's it's bad. It's gonna it's
gonna build off of it. Youget in the water scallop right now,
and it's like jumping into a hottub. Yeah, I see. They

(10:28):
send a lot of sharks out theretoo. I've been hearing a lot of
shark report. I have not seenmany at all. I've been seeing them
on Facebook. They I know that. But a lot of that's rhetoric,
you know. It's it's I'm onthe water every day, you know that,
and I'm seeing less this year thanI than I have the last couple
of years. Well, you've beenthere's something out there, don't get me
wrong. You've been shooting with dayare fifteenth then in the out pretty good,

(10:48):
ain't you, I plead the fifthYeah, I hear a lot of
shots over that way in the afternoonlate, you know, around low tide.
I'm just saying no, but allserious, since I'm not seeing the
numbers that that have been in thepast couple of years. Man, you
know that's what everybody freaks out about. Oh, like they've never been there.
But there's a lot of places you'vebeen swimming and if you'd been looking

(11:11):
up from the sky or you know, like kind of helicopter or whatever and
look down around you. You wouldn'thave never got back in the water if
you'd seen what was going on aroundyou. A lot of times. I
mean we are entering where they live. Yeah, I mean, there's no
shock if you do run into oneof them. I mean you just got
to kind of give them their spacea little bit and try to stay away
from or hit them with the oldbangstick and wanted to. It's so,

(11:35):
you know, they selling them, you know them wrist bands wrist and the
shield that go on the ankle too. I have some yeah, I mean
shark bands. Yeah, and that'syou know, so how does that work?
So the shark bands is it's magnetsAnd hey, I don't I got
to cut Kenny off anyway, Ilike being rude to him. We got
to go to a quick commercial. We'll be right back with some more important
stuff. Y'all. All right, guys, welcome back to the show.

(12:07):
Now, Kenny, what do yougot to say about the shark shields?
Now? So I bought them, you know, and it was it was
more of just a comfort for thepeople that were coming onto the boat.
I don't know that they really work. I watched all the videos and so
the ones I bought are called sharkbands. And what you were asking about
how they work is it's it's magnets. And if you go on there,

(12:28):
you watch the YouTube videos. Theywere testing them in Australia with the bull
sharks, and you know the videoshow they worked. They took a dummy
and they actually stuffed this leg fullof fish and meat and stuff, and
they had the shark band on andthe bull sharks were just circling, circling.
They took it off and then thesharks attacked it real. So but
you know the power of editing.I'm not gonna say they work or don't

(12:48):
work. I don't. I'm surethey do. But I'll be honest with
you. I'm a firm believer.I believe in them. Here do I
going to clean the scallops and throwthem into water? And how do people
get in with the shark man?I was gonna see, Well, I
mean I believe they It depends onif you got insurance on them or not
life insurance. I mean, youjust run my whole ball game. The

(13:11):
UH Wings still go out, guys, the uh those those shark bands I've
I've looked at those and and uh, it's all about that sun ar or
whatever the sharks put out that thatmagnet. They don't like it. Yeah,
Like I said, I watched thevideos and I figure, if nothing
else is worth a hundred bucks justto yeah, I mean I'd rather have

(13:35):
something than nothing. Well, now, a shark shield it puts off electros,
right, yeah, those sharks shieldactually shocks. Yeah, and see
you think about it, if youknow, it ain't got any scales,
and it's kind of like a catfishwhen they use them illegal things, Paul,
Like you told me about that. You used hard time catching them catfish.
Yeah, well that's what that thatshield does. And I'd rather have

(13:56):
that shield. Yeah. That keepthem far away. You probably won't even
see it, you know, Pauluses the only problem with those is when
people get shocked by them. Youknow, the ones that hang off the
boat. Yeah, so they haveones that the little thing hangs off the
boat and supposed to send out electricshield basically, and divers get shock sometimes

(14:18):
by them. Well they got youknow, like the ones logan them's got
they time to the wrinkle. Yeah, you get shot by those two.
Yeah, Well they don't shot theirselves. It's usually something the coming up behind
them looking over a rottle hedge orsomething that around there and bite some of
it. But other than that,I mean, it works. Like I
said, when they got them home, they don't see those sharks around.
But you know, honestly, foryears I used to dive in spearfish and

(14:39):
we would have sharks around while we'reshooting fish. Or you know, you
look up and you're coming back upfrom sixty seventy feet and sharks circling the
boat and we go right through them. I haven't been bit yet, cause
you stink. Hey, whatever works, whatever it takes, if you take
a shower right or they they biteme. But I will say this,

(15:01):
I'm gonna let him have the fish. You're gonna let him have to fight
the shark for a fish. Butthat's just like you know, the shark
I wouldn't even really honestly be worriedabout. At least you can kind of
control how he bites. That barracudahits you to cut you in half.
You know, you want to takeyour arm off. Well, like I
said, this year, I'm notseeing the sharks like I have the past
couple of years. I mean,I haven't had trout bitting half or bit

(15:22):
by behind the gills or anything likethat. I haven't had bull sharks coming
after my red fish. I'm justnot seeing the numbers that I have the
last couple of years. Have youYou remember before I left, we was
talking about barracuda's being in. Yousaid, you've never seen a baracuta in
I've caught? Yeah. Well,I was just saying there was one other
day, guy kept telling me he'scutting the line, kept getting cut,

(15:45):
cut, cut. I said,I don't know, I said this possible.
He said, I ain't never seena baracot in there. I said,
well, it might not be.Then he pulled up a trout that
was cutting half. Huh. Andthen the next thing he caught was a
Varracudah. Yeah, well one,So the first one and thirty three years
of fishing. Really wow, Icaught one small one out of there.
But you can tell a difference ina barracuda bite and a shark bite,

(16:08):
no doubt. Maybe a clean cutversus a rigid cut. Yeah. Even
back in my days of diving andspear fishing, barracuda scared me way more
in the show. Yeah, thosethings just appear out of nowhere and they
just sit there and they like almostlike they're hovering, just watching every movie
you make. You don't even seea move, but they're moving with you.
And then you blink your eyes theyare gone and you blink your eyes

(16:29):
again in their back. Yeah, they're fast. They're crazy fast. You
don't ever have nothing shiny on inthe water with them around. For sure,
they gonna hear whatever's blinking. Yeah, Oh, what's going on your
side of the town man, what'sgoing on Tacle and everything? Oh?
I tell you Talcon. The bike'sbeen pretty good on Talcon. The fish
have moved out deeper, for sure. They're on the ledges out there.
Uh. Tall e Buddies caught somepretty good bass fishing about twelve to thirteen

(16:52):
foot on the top of the riverchannel ledges with a crank bait and then
following that up with the Carolina rig. Been catching them pretty good. Crappy
out there. Moved out a littlebit deeper about fourteen fourteen to fifteen foot
now on cover adjacent to the channeland then up on Seminole this week.
Man had some really big bass thisweek. The water's finally started clearing up
up there. It's been hot,but been going in the mornings. Had

(17:15):
a kid at eight in park thatlistens to the show. Actually Fish we
got his personal bess went almost atnine pounds. It was It was awesome
watching fight that fish. He's realinga frog back to the boat and the
bass hits about three foot from theboat. Oh, and it was a
battle. He's fighting that fish allaround. I like, stop, you
know, you don't want to reallyallow up the right Yeah, that's normally
never good when they bite that close. Now, I was in my bass

(17:36):
post. I didn't bring in that, so I had to nettie neddie with
my hand. You know. Itwas it was awesome, But that's a
picture of it. It was cool. Yeah, oh yeah, that's nice.
But it was fun. I hadhad a uh now, that was
just awesome. Just you know, when the wind was coming out of the
east. I knew it was goingto be a slow bite, and all
of a sudden that one when thatfish hit, everything kind of turned on

(17:59):
after that. That was pretty cool. He wouldn't have cared anyway. If
that was his best fish, thebiggest bass he ever called. He'd cared
if you didn't have a net andlost that. Yeah, yeah, thank
god I was able to get itlittle. It was cool. He had
a video of it after share it. I'll send you all the video.
Yeah, his granddad took of italmost nine pounds. Yeah, you ever
caught one of that? Big deal? He's talking quite a few big bess

(18:22):
over actually over ten pounds. Mybiggest to date is fourteen pounds. Nice.
When I was twenty two years oldon Lake Pickett and Uli Julio to
Florida, I was fishing wild shinersat twelve inch shiners okay, and under
big like tennis ball sized cork bobbers. It was a good thing, he

(18:45):
said twenty two because if he hadsaid last year, I'm like, yeah,
I said him beast, probably withthe dag of him query. I
was down there swimming around, youknow, just kind of targeting them.
But I've I've caught quite a fewover ten all that same body of water.
Of course, back in the day, it's in the middle of orange
trees and there was no one around. Now it's got houses all over it,

(19:07):
and it's gone, like everything elsein certain areas of Florida, over
populated and whatever. But yeah,I'm sixty two years old. So growing
up being in Florida, we gotto fish a lot of lakes that back
in the day there was no houseson right, and we call them back
then that you know, they werevirgin territory. I mean you could go

(19:29):
out there and it was common commonto catch five, six, seven,
eight bounders. I mean this,it was common. But now since Florida
Central Florida's grown up to be themulti median population and everything, people gotta
live where they got to live, and they go fish where they fish and
they have a good time and Godbless them. But twenty three years ago,

(19:51):
I moved up here when they movedin, So I come up here
to get away from the crowds andfish these waters up here, which I
fell in love with. It's likelast night and this morning, you know,
I was out there fishing and Iactually took a video and I can
show you guys later. I tooka video and I just spun all the
way around the boat, not noone in sight, not a boat in

(20:11):
site. Isn't that great? Ohyeah? And it's not one of those
things where you know, it's likeI tell my friends when I'm out there
I said, you know, we'llgo out to Saint Mark's and the boat
ramp will be crowded. At thefort stay to fort ramp will be full.
But when you go out there, you're not really crowded. You know,
there's there's people out there, there'speople out there fishing, but majority
of the time, you got yourspace, you're able to fish, no

(20:33):
problem and everything. And there's justa giant difference between fishing North Florida and
Central Florida. Well, we're blessedwith a lot of coastline of protected woods.
Yeah, my life management area that'strying state forward, especially were you
guys. I mean Alsilla, Keatonand Warrior Creek and all these areas.
Man, they're so I mean,to the listeners out there, if you're

(20:56):
listening to the show, if youreally want to a great experience, get
with Kenny, get with Joel,Captain Paul, any of them, and
go fishing with them. You'll seewhat we're talking about. It's it's pretty
it's pretty neat. Especially I fellin love with Ascilla. Yeah, holy
cow, man, you're talking aboutthis beautiful area. It's like I call

(21:18):
it the Serengetti of the Gulf becauseit is the salt grass flats as far
as you can see. You know, the only problem with the Oscilla is
the rocks, So be careful ifyou're going to try to take your own
boat out there and be very verycareful. Well, that's why you need
to run an air bat, Kenny. Yeah, I pretty much do with
an outboard. You know. That'swhy you need to hire a guide,

(21:41):
right, yeah, our god,Kenny. Then you don't have to worry
about it. And uh, they'rea lot less costly than the boat.
Well, the main thing is thewinter tide is what you gotta watch out
for. I mean, that's right, you're on high tide. You know,
you still got to be careful. But you stand in the middle of
the river, you'll be fine. But that tied any kind of load,
you got to zig zag and knowwhere you're going. I take my time.

(22:03):
I've been there. I've done sixtrips down there so far. I've
been very lucky. I haven't beenzooming around or doing anything crazy. I
just get where I get and Igo slow. I mean, the past
my task two trips. I've gottenit up on plane, but I don't
put the throttle into it. Ijust keep it on plane and move through
there slowly. I don't fish alsoa lot, but it's it's some good

(22:26):
fishing, but it is definitely treacherous. You know, you got to be
careful. But that's why the fishare there, especially in the wintertime.
A lot of a lot of timespeople don't never tear the foot off till
they go to let off. Whenthe boat sinks. You got to know
where to let off at. Youknow, you could be going over several
rocks and don't even know it.But when you let off that boat sanks
is when you tear the foot off. Yeah, I got a rock guard.

(22:48):
I acquired a rock guard a coupleof years ago when I hit a
rock over in front of what theycall that live oak that sits right there
side shell Point. Yeah, they'rea little the live oak I think it's
called. And I was thought Iwas being smart and cutting through and making
a shortcut. Have my brother inlaw with me, and we hit that
rock and I look back expecting notto see my engine on the back of

(23:11):
the boat. I really did,but we only it took off half the
skag straight the lower unit up.We got to finish our trip. Didn't
hurt the propot all. But assoon as I got out of there,
I went to that man and gotthat rock guard. So two years ago
I destroyed a motor, but Iwas in four and a half feet of
water. Yeah, in an areathat I run all the time, and

(23:32):
evidently there's a rock there that alot of people didn't know about it,
and this is a very popular area. And I destroyed the whole motor.
And then the next it was maybesix months later, I destroyed the lower
on the new motor they put on. See y'all need to call me.
Don't call Kenny, he tears toomuch stuff up. Or call Paul.
Hey, we got to go toa quick commercial break. We'll be right
back. Alright, guys, welcomeback to the show. Kenny's gonna tell

(24:04):
us a little bit about what's beengoing on. He might be lying and
he might be telling the truth.I don't know what's the current conditions right
now between Keaton and supposedly All Stillerwhere he likes to go. So I
just have to be honest. It'shit and miss, but we have had
some really really good trips. Yesterdaymorning it was okay, we caught about

(24:25):
fifteen red fish, but the troutbite just wasn't there. We came back
with two trout and turned around, went back out on the second trip and
we caught about eight red fish andfifteen trout. Now, out of the
fifteen, only eight of those werekeepers. We had two people on the
boat. We were too shy ofa limit artificial only, no live bait.

(24:47):
Went out this morning and fished fortwo and a half hours and we
had eight trout and one red fishkeepers in two and a half hours.
That's not bad. Yeah, Sothe red fish. The hot item for
the red fish is a gold spoon. I'm gonna be honest. Not just
any gold spoon. Awqua dream hashas has really been the hot ticket.

(25:12):
And I don't know if it's thetexture on it, you know, if
it's a little more flash, alittle more vibration. But that's been you
know, I've thrown the Johnson andother ones, but right now that's the
one that's catching fish. And thekey the key with that, especially right
now with the water temps as hotas it is, you got to cover
water to catch red fish. They'rescattered. You will will get into some

(25:36):
schools, but you know the onesI'm target, I'm not targeting those big
schools. We will have some bigschools come in and of course we'll fish
them, but for the most part, it's it's just catching or you know,
targeting those rocks that are rocky areasin deeper water with you know,
scattered red fish. The trout hasbeen in four to six feet of water.
And honestly, the hot ticket isnew Penny golt under a popping work

(26:00):
under a popcord. What kind ofwhat side leader? I am using twenty
five pound floor carbon leader about twentyeight to thirty two inches, and I
am using and I'm not using ajighead. I'm just using a four j
hook nose hooking the gulps, andI'm not feeding the hook down through the

(26:23):
body. I'm just hooking at onetime on the nose and it just you
know, I'll do pop pop andlet it sit for about ten seconds.
It's just slowly falling. Yep.And to be honest, right, and
that I had to do that toyour partner. I know you're honest,

(26:44):
man, but you've said that acouple of times. I'm like, what
else are you saying? Well,it's because uh joughhead over here, I
keep saying I might be lying.Man, welcome back. You're telling the
truth. Tell them peter Off family, guy, tell let's go. Let's

(27:11):
talking about heads. Uh, tellthem what your coordinates? Did you tell
them the truth about everything? Iwill say this, yesterday I was looking
at the all Silla bird rack. He's full. Oh wow. Also I
was looking at the all sill abird rack. Ye on your phone or
oh no from the boat? Okay, from here you go? You were
pretty close then, Oh yeah.I tried. I tried to get him

(27:33):
rut there. I was like,I said, hold on, let me
flip my radar on. I waslike, nope, you're not out there.
He went looking at you would havelooked at him. I was out
there. So Paul was already tellhim about the big bass and everything you
called today. Man, what atrip that must have been. Huh.
Yeah, that water has been dirtyfor a while now it hasn't It finally
started up? That was something alwayshow about that? But yeah, lake

(28:02):
seminoles finally cleared up. I mean, it's about as clear as it's going
to get, and it is.I think the I think the bite has
gotten a lot better, for sure. The bigger fish have been feeding.
They've been feeding on brim and rightnow a frog has been good a top
water bait. It's been good aprop bait. And that's actual, the
truth. I'm not going to takeexactly where, but anywhere there's grass go

(28:26):
fishing. Could you see the AllSilver Bird rack? Yeah? No,
but I did see an osprey nest. There you go, folks, look
for that ospray nest and you willfind the big ones. I'm gonna I'm
gonna put me some arm guards outthere and to look for that boat of
Kenny's and make sure they put enoughbullet holes. He can't make it ball,

(28:48):
but Joel will tell you I'm notafraid to run. I was looking
at the All Silver Bird Rack andI left Keaton. It's not far about
what fifteen miles? Yeah, probablyprobably eight that far. So we got
we got, uh, you know, we got Obviously we had a big
week this week with the Fourth ofJuly and everything. Hope everybody had a

(29:10):
good time with the fireworks, seeingthat this show airs on Saturday morning.
And uh, you were talking aboutan event earlier you're going to have or
you've already had. No, I'vehad. I had the event. We
got to make this thing live.I was telling Jared, I said,
Jared actually caught it, and Iwas like, oh, well, we

(29:30):
need to let the folks know that, you know, keep an eye out
on that Facebook page to know whenthe shows are and when there aren't.
So saw good stuff. That istrue. That's true. Yeah, it's
a It's gonna be good man. We're gonna have a good time either way.
You know, I don't think,like I said, we ain't been
advertising but about a week, weekand a half, and we just had

(29:52):
a lot going on this past month. And I still got a lot going
on. But hopefully next month it'sgonna be slowing down and get you timed
up. Yeah, I mean you'renot fishing, you're fishing. Come on,
let me get this right. I'macquiring a forty four foot boat,
and things are gonna slow down forme on that up. For me,
they're gonna slow down because I'll beout there on the water offshore where nobody

(30:17):
can get a hold of me.Well, I have a satellite phone,
but I ain't gonna get numbered everybody, but uh, LEAs are gonna slow
on for the clients too, andwe're gonna catch a lot of fish is
what's gonna happen, and you'll seeit. Hey, we had the breaking
news last week. Did you hearabout the Gag Grouper season. Yeah?
I heard, and it's crazy, but you know, I'll have all them.
I've got people calling me when theysend the picture on Facebook. This

(30:38):
ain't no crap. I probably hadtwenty people called I want to know when
they could book and I said,I ain't booking nothing yet. I get
it back and get everything situated, and Gag Gripper season. I could pretty
much feel it, you know, every day. Oh yeah, I get
calls all the time for offshore, and I got to where I can't refer
to anyone else. So I guessI'm gonna have to refer to you now

(30:59):
because everyone is already booked up.Every I mean that's in need. People
want to go. What people's gotto realize is how much everything costs.
So when they hear an off shoretrip for one thousand dollars, you probably
gonna catch nothing but pink mouth criunts. So these guys like you know,
chasing them over there in Steinhatchie, all these guys around us, you know,

(31:21):
their trip expensive, they're worth itand you're gonna catch big fish.
And you know, you always theold saying is you get what you pay
for. My trip a't gonna benow less than three thousand dollars six people.
But you got to think about it. I'm gonna spend sixteen hundred on
fuel. If we got to runone hundred miles off shore, that's gonna
be fifteen hundred dollars on fuel ofit I gotta spend so yeah, plus
plus the licensing, I mean ridiculous. Oh yeah, it's it's a big

(31:45):
deal. But I think in thebig in the big picture of things.
You know, when you go offshore like that, on a boat like
that with your friends, your family. Uh, the chances have been on
a boat like that, uh inmy lifetime are few and far between,
right and all because I just youknow, Joel's the first person I ever

(32:07):
known to buy something like that orto get, you know, to purchase
something like that. And also it'sa special time, so it's every it's
worth every penny. Oh yeah, you know, I was talking to Joel
about this boat, and you toldme how many gallons in the fuel field
tank. Seven hundred gallons of fuelwould sink my boat. I don't even

(32:30):
want to talk about that. Itgets Yeah, that's what I'm saying it.
Paul's over here, like I canfish all year on that, so
he's right, and probably he probablyif you really did the math, it'd
probably be two years. And that'swhat I just want people to understand that
when they go to booking these trips, if you get in a low rate
trip, there's something wrong with it. You're gonna go out there and you

(32:51):
ain't catch nothing but trash. Ifyou catch the trash, I mean a
lot of them guys. But youknow what, maybe I saw that someone
can afford, so that it isgood that there's options like that, But
you're not. You're not booking atrip to fill your freezer, if you're
honest with yourself, just like youdon't deer hunt to save money on food,
man, So let's be honest withourselves. You're you're paying for an
experience. That's right. You're goingdeer hunt, turkey hunting, deer hunting.

(33:15):
All of a sudden, I ain'tmet any boy you yet. None
of my friends the hunt because theycan't go to the grocery store and buy
grocers. That's right, and everythingIt's about the experience and and and having
a good time and and living yourbest life and memory. There's a lot
of them boys. Now, theya lot of stick stick them in them
freezers. Uh, but you gotway more into it then. Yeah.

(33:36):
Yeah, they see me. WhenI want to fish, I go catch
you. You know what I mean. That's just like a red fish.
I'll run out are and wasite fiftydollars in gas just to catch one red
fish and bring it back and putit on that grill. Ain't nothing better
when you pull it out the coolerriders still flopping, and clean it and
then put it right on the grill. You know. He said to only
catch one red fish. Yeah, that's all I can catch. That's how
you can catch more. Yeah, but why not? I want to hurt

(33:59):
the fish population hooking him in themouth and making them swallow the hooks.
Can he I mean, he doeshave to save something. You can proper
proper fish handling skills. Yeah, you filame and then you put a little
bit of butter and put him onthe grill. That's put rdling. No,
But that's like I said, man, I just want everybody to experience

(34:21):
the time on the offshore deal, you know, and I don't. There's
a lot of good guys around here, but we need more, honestly,
but you can't afford it. Imean much money is you got to put
into the insurance and everything else.People's got to understand why we charge what
we in the boat, you know, a boat like that is it's a
million dollars, you know. Soit's just you know, Chase has got
that Freeman and that other one rightthere. He's he's got you know,

(34:44):
close to two million dollars sitting rightin his place. So it ain't nothing
cheap. What what we got todo to survive. So I'm just that's
what I'm you know. I hopepeople book with us, and book with
everybody you know, including me.I'm just starting out. But oh you
won't have an issue. I'm tellingyou, my phone rings off the hook
for all shore. I don't wantany part of it. I'll gladly send
him your way. So and thatnice? That was so nice? Isn't

(35:05):
that nice? I'm sorry? Itell you. It warms my heart to
see you boys getting along as niceas I am to him, and you
see how he treats me, AndI won't talk about that later. Yeah,
yeah, I'll tell you what.I think it'd be cool and we
can talk about it some more andeverything. But I'm feeling that some kind

(35:27):
of contest coming up on this showto do on Facebook. Let's let's talk
about that right after this commercial.I think you're right on that though.
Hey, guys, y'all stay team. We'll be right back with y'all.
All right, guys, welcome backto the show. Now, dadn What

(35:49):
was you talking about right before thecommercial? Right, I was coming by
some kind of contest and I thinkyou guys got it excited because it was
a fishing contest between us all.But really what I was looking at is
the Facebook site for the show possiblycoming up with an idea to give away
a fishing trip for people that likeand share and do a like and share

(36:09):
contest on Facebook and you know, try to get our audience built up a
little bit and everything and give awaya fishing trip and that I mean it
might be a trip where I know, you guys got quiet boy listen to
you. Yeah, I'm talking about, you know, giving away whether it's
a flats trip or a trip withCaptain Paul or uh, you know,

(36:30):
I prefer probably a flats trip orsomething like that. And all since these
offshore trips are way big, theDale's money, we'd all have like once
a you know, I got twodollars in my wallet. I went to
buy a honeybuon earlier, and Ididn't because I didn't want to spend my
two dollars. The honeybun was adollar fifty. And he tells me all

(36:53):
the time he wears the pants ina relationship. Well, I do,
but that's all I got and that'sall I'm wearing too. Yeah, but
no, no, Wendy's in chargeof the budget. She has me.
Oh guess what, guess what?Guess what? Day is what? This
is my wife's not anniversary, happyanniversary? Oh yeah, man, you

(37:15):
know what I now? Thirty fouryears ago I met this girl. I
fell in love with her, andshe's been with me through thick and thin,
and we've had a great life togetherand everything. But I got some
even better news, guys. It'sbecause she don't listen to the show.
I'm paroled on Monday, you paro. I get parole on Monday. So

(37:37):
I've served my sentenced. Boys,I'm gone fishing, I hope I hope
whoever is listening don't be taking aswallow or drink when I say this,
or coffee and first thing in themorning, because you know he said this.
Today is his wife and his anniversaryof thirty four years. Today is
my anniversary. No what of meand my soon to be x ye,

(38:00):
so happy anniversary, soon to bewife going fishing. We're going fishing together,
so I ain't got to ask permissionto go fishing. Oh my gosh,
oh lord, all you need isa good one like me. You
have a good one like me.You don't have to ask permission the boat.

(38:21):
She'll wash the boat when you getback in. My wife is amazing
because she wants She is amazed. She wants to get rid of his button
for eight hours. He's got niceand quiet. Anything she can do to
get it and hurry it up.Get I hear you. Yeah, I
think we're all very blessed when itcomes to wives and girlfriends. The uh

(38:45):
yeah, you can't say all ofus. I don't know about that.
We don't want to talk much. This is a hunting and fishing show.
This is not Mary counseling or divorcecounseling or whatever. I was to say,
you don't want this to be marriagecounseling because I'm on my second divorce,

(39:07):
don't. Hey, man, yougotta get one that goes fishing with
you and washes the boat and theboat. No, I'm gonna leave it
at this. We got to getback on topic. I'm gonna leave it
at this. You got to makesure you pick that level five or less.
Even my mama's crazy, but yougot to know what level to pick.
You know what's great about everything? When you're talking about divorce and everything.

(39:30):
My I'm not getting divorced. Divorced. My wife actually works for a
divorce lawyer. Yeah, you'd bescrewed. Yeah, I'm I'm in.
I'm in. Had to win it, boss, I'm going to distance best
way. I didn't spend that twodollars. I speaking of competition, what
I thought you was bringing up togo ahead and shut this big mouth up

(39:53):
over here? Oh lord, asthe biggest red fish, we should have
a tournament this with all four allwe all should go and fish and see
who catches the biggest red fish.Yeah and all, But we gotta put
something on the table. Oh,it's gonna it's gonna be money. Is
it money? Yeah, I onlyfish for money. We got two dollars,
that's all. But when are wegonna do this? Because Joel doesn't

(40:15):
fish in the summertime, when it'swe can, we can do it.
I tell you I've not been fishingon the flats in two weeks and I'll
go out there in thirty minutes andhave you out weighing. Okay, now
wait a minute, I want totalking about want this? Okay, I
got you already did got him.I can't help he got on that Mexico

(40:40):
right some special Hey, uh youknow the no I think something during the
fall. But know what I wastalking about is get a get a luster
and and you know out on thewater, do it? Do it?
Do it? Competition? Let themdecide and the winters gets to bring their
fishing partner on. That's right. The show to tell the story of how

(41:02):
man not only get to go fishing, but to get to be on the
show to talk about Yeah, man, please, now there's something special.
Yeah, So when can he getssmoked? This time? We won't have
We're gonna get Tanner and Baltica. We're gonna throw Tanned. Who's Tanner?
Yeah, he's on the way backhome, probably taking a nap because he's

(41:22):
worked so hard painting to day. He's taking a home. He's coming back
home from por Illinois. Boy,I bet his wife's got a list of
things for him to do all along. Oh yeah, I'm open. Let's
go Monday morning. Let's go Mondaymorning. Monday morning. Wait, Monday
morning. Joel's always got something, some excuse. Now we could, we
could probably make Monday work. Weprobably could make Mondy work. But we

(41:45):
got we got to get some peopledo that's gonna win when the things I
lost, I lost that. Okay, I was talking about the term our
team. So we're gonna have acompetition for someone to go fishing us.
We can just fish in the morning, competition between us, right, and
to have them on the show totalk right right? Cool? Yeah,
well that's interest and Paul could bethere to witness it all. Me smoking

(42:07):
Kenny on a red fish? Heywait, does a sel cat count?
That's not a red fish? Onlyred fish? So you're going to do
red fish and big trout, Andlet's go now, right now, right
now. And I'm not even andI'll tell you I'm not even going fish

(42:30):
until that day. Hey, Dale. But I will tell you Joel will
call me and ask me where thered fish. Listen to this show right
now is going man with they thisquit fighting already. But it's not really
what you think. It's not whatyou think you here, Uh you know,

(42:51):
it's it's this good fun. Theseguys are great friends, doing anything
in the world for each other anduh fish together all the time. And
I know when I called Kenny yesterdayhe was actually doing uh taking one of
your charters out, wasn't he.Uh So, Uh, it's all on
good fun. But I'll tell youwhat, if you want to be a
part of that trip in the fall, start licking and sharing the Facebook site

(43:16):
for the Big Bend Outdoor Show.Yeah, we got to get people involved.
We've got to get more, youknow. I want to be a
part of it. Especially, Imean, it ain't got to be so
much winter time. You know. What I mean is October's usually starts getting
the real good fishing movie. Sowhen we do this tournament, Kenny,
you go be in your boat, and you're going to have someone in your

(43:36):
boat. Yes, Paul, No, no, I was going to take
Paul with me. No, Iam, believe me a part of this
and everything, especially when it comesif we're just doing red fish and trout,
I can I can play in thatpark, and in fact, I
want to be a part of thisbig time, especially during the fall.

(43:58):
So I'll take Paul with me onmy boat. Who you gonna have I
don't know, Okay, So wehave junior Dice coming on me. All
right. Now here's the thing. So you gonna have someone, you gonna
have somebody Tanner, we just saythat he'll have somebody and everything. So
that's two four six, that's eight. So we'll have a little tournament between
the eight of us, right, okay, and this will be in the

(44:21):
fall, right, So we'll lookat up and coming available dates and when
we can pull this off and everything. Probably during the week. I would
imagine. We've got to make surewe got some video cameras. That way,
video cameras. Yeah, we're gonnawe're gonna make sure we're gonna make
this interest. Most of us areup to date on technology and pictures.
No, we're gonna have time staying. No, No, we're gonna have

(44:44):
femine involved. No, we'll putit on the Facebook site. Yeah,
yeah, we'll put the we'll doit just like the what's that big tournament
trail redfish tournament trail that's out there. That's what they do. They they
filmed their their catches and then theyfilm it on on the scale and they
turned the fish loose. We're gonnamake it more interesting. How's that?

(45:04):
You gotta reach and grab the redfish in the mouth, put him up
on the boat. You can't notuse the net? How about how about
what what? What hang on?So? How about what trout? Oh?
Yeah, you gotta use your fingers. No, I ain't doing it.
I'm like, I'm like Paul onthat one. He said, a
red fish like a mudfish. Theygot teeth, Like I say, I'm

(45:29):
being honest, but they do haveteeth when I teeth when I fish a
lot, Paul, which I ain'tgot them right fish, But you'll have
lines all up now you thumb whereyou grab them a real fisherman. That's
where That's where he was. That'swhat Kenny was pulling on the line.

(45:49):
They hung up on rocks. Theygot them. They got them bubba teeth
the smaller red fish. The teethare actually a lot sharp. Yeah,
but they keep them, you know, eating all them forster shells and everything.
Put in right there near j rsAt ninety eight. Wherever you want
to put in, we'll put init and then sending it up right there

(46:10):
and eat. Yeah, okay, but no, I mean we don't need
to be making up rules right now. Let me think about this. You're
gonna put them because Dale was tryingto set hisself up and the wind.
Yeah y'all are y'all are the guyson the flash now? Yeah, they

(46:32):
are the gods. I mean, you're just going fishing with those po dunk
Dale. You know, Dale's tryingto go to East River and stuff.
We ain't gonna allow that. Yougot to be on this side of red
Fish Point. Let me tell yousomething now, I'm good. Wherever you
want to go, you can pinoff Silla whatever. I'm perfectly fun.
We'll just go in between Finnhold andI will be listening Paul for a boom.

(46:57):
Yeah, no dying mine, Paul. So we'll be in between Keaton
and all Silver. Just go finHolloway. I ain't going to Finn Halloway.
It turts me out and going outthat river au Crau sitting in the
top of the tree and stuff.I mean if truth be known, Uh,
you fished? You're you live inKeaton? Yes, okay, from
Keating to Saint Mark, look atSt. Martin's to it. Man,

(47:22):
it'll be all right where we gonnameet at? Wasn't it this? Go
fishing that morning? We'll all calleach other one the safe light calls like
I got to feeling bad about thirtyminutes into the trip the house. Wow,
he gonna say that. Don't weto be really motivating now? Thank
you? Well. I am gladthat y'all have missed me the last two

(47:44):
