Speaker 1 (00:01):
See number one talk show in the Ohio Valley. This
is the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on news radio eleven seventy WWVA starts now, Well, good.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Morning, Happy Wednesday. The bloom Daddy Experience. Sam and Otis,
News Radio eleven seventy ww VA Otis. We made it.
We're here.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I have a question for you, okay, and it's kind
of a follow up to yesterday.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yesterday, that's a long time ago.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
But well, we talked about you. You brought up about Tim
Walls being in Saint Clairsville, and that's very wherever he was. Well,
did you see the video on Facebook about him going
to Coleman's Fish Market.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I saw, yes, and I did not watch it because
I had just had my dinner, I had my fill
of So.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
First off, he doesn't he calls it Coleman's Fish Mark
at once, and then he calls it Coleman's Fish Shop.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Fish shop.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Okay, I think that's what he called it. And then uh,
it shows him in line ordering like there's a menu there,
and he goes and like the lady's like he goes, well,
I want a fish sandwich, and like there's three or
four different fish sandwiches you can get, and he goes,
I want the one you're famous for. And then he goes,
I want to try the alligator soup, and so you know,
he then he shows him sitting at a table and

(01:29):
you know, eating the fish and he goes, oh, it's
so good. You know, he's talking to the owner, which
I mean, if you're the owner of the business and
he comes in, I mean, you have to acknowledge yad.
I mean, no matter what your political view is. And
then it shows him talking to one of the employees
about and he goes, he goes.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Man, he goes, I thought that was the guy that
ran with Kamala Harris and blah blah blah. He's like,
he goes, I thought I recognized you. And and it
was kind of that part was I mean a little
bit of it was funny, but he's it's just so
it was so staged. I was gonna say canned, but yeah, yeah,
you know, and I'm I'm assuming part of it, I mean,

(02:06):
like the talking to Joe and the guy wasn't stage.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
We filmed it.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Probably one of his aides, okay, yeah, or one of
his henchmen, hench women, henchman.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah. No, we're going to talk a little bit more
about that visit because we have I know, if you
saw it, Like I said, I saw it pop up
in my social media feed, and I just I'm like,
I can't, I can't watch it. This is good.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I think Channel seven did a story on it, so
it's probably on their website as well.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Maybe that's what I saw pop up. But no, like
I said yesterday, that was an hour and a half
of my life. I will not get back.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
He just looks like a dork.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
He's actually tiny.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Well, yeah, I'm sure he is.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
He's a he's a little man.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Well the guy the employee that he's talking to from
Coleman's and I and I know Joe Coleman to seem
I don't know him to talk to him. I know
he's son better than I know him. But Joe's not
a big big man either. And like he and Walls were,
you know, if you know Joe, if you know Joe Coleman,
if you and then if you saw Walls, you can

(03:05):
see about the same size.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Well, listen, you gotta get I mean you can't take
it away from Coleman's Fish because listen, they're getting plus
free Actiz.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Yeah, absolutely, And he goes, we don't have anything like
this in Minnesota, and he goes, where do you get
the alligators around here? It's like dummy, they ship them in.
I mean you can buy the meat. It's we're not
It's not like it's the nineteen seventies. You can have
alligator meat flown in like daily. Well like like there's
lobsters in the tank at Coleman's. Yeah, we got those

(03:34):
lobsters right out of the Ohio River Shank Lake at Ogibye.
I mean, come on, dang dong. Oh No, anyway, I'm done.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
No, no, no, no, that's fine, that's fine. No, we're
gonna be talking more about his visit when we have
politics on leash coming up with Elgie mccartial. She did
not go with me, but I want.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
To what if she'd have been there? Imploded.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yes, I actually had somebody call me last night, a
dear friend of mine, and he was telling me, No,
I watched your your live feeds and this and that
and informed me that some of my what I thought
was very on the down. No, on the down low
commentary that I thought why, I was only thinking in

(04:23):
my head. Honestly, it kind of sort of came through
the live the live feed that I did on social media.
Listen to anybody, if you were sitting through what I
had to sit through. It took everything I had not
to stand up and call on a lot of things.
But I digress. Won't we won't go there.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
You say any swear words on the Actually, no, I didn't.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
I don't believe I did.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
I know I would have.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
I don't believe I did.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
I know.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
When I stood up to leave, there was a woman
next to me, and under my breath, I said, well,
there's an hour in my life I'll never get back,
and she shot me a look with just dag daggers. Again.
I guess my inside voice I did not use very
well that particular day.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
You didn't lie, that's the thing. You didn't lie.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
No, No, I mean, if you want to take that
statement as a negative, then you know, take it as
a negative. But we're gonna get Elgin's comments on that,
and of course a lot more that's going to be
coming up in the eight o'clock hour. Also, don't forget
and this is my first call. Today's the day we
will get our winner for our free lunch courtesy of

(05:34):
our friends at River City. River City. So all you
have to do is send your name, phone number, and
business and then we will put you at the end
of the show along with everybody else in the randomizer
and you could win free lunch.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Can we put our boss in so that we can
get free lunch.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
I don't know if we. I think that's in the
rules that we can't win our own our own prizes.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
It was worth a shot worth asking.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
One thing though, last week we did the ice cream
on Wednesday. We're going to change that to Thursday. You
made a big you made a good point after the
show that we have too much stuff on at the end. Yeah,
so that is up on our social.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
We'll do our big lunch winter on Wednesday and our
big ice cream winner on Thursday, which, by the ways,
on Friday. Yes, we're working on.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yes, a little bit of a teas there for you,
a little bit of a tease. But one thing I
wanted to highlight, uh, speaking of winners, you know how
I believe it was Monday we had Victoria from the
Special Olympics in town and we provided her with four
tickets to the Globe Trotters. Last night, she sent us

(06:47):
some pictures and they took a couple kids and young
adults and said that they had just an absolute blast.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Perfect.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
So I'm glad, Victoria you and your team got to
put those to use and had a good time with those.
With those young men and women.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
I think I know who went.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Oh really really, I I just briefly saw because I'm.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Friend, because I saw the person that I'm friends with
thanked Victor. I think it was Victoria for the tickets.
And I know I know two or the three, two
or three the kids that went, and the one the
one kid's mom okay, And that's when you know that
the tickets went to good use. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
The the in the picture highlighted is the three young
men that got to go, Andy, Jamin, and Sean.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
So I know Jamen okay, and I know Jamen's mom and.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
They got to meet the players.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Great.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Yeah, yeah, you know that's the one.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
I didn't put two and two together last night when
I saw that. When I when it said thanks Victoria
for the tickets, huh.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
And I was like, oh, that's the Victoria we talked.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah, I mean never even thought about it.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
That's the thing, Listen. We love doing the tickets. I
love getting the phone call and hearing the people all excited,
or when I call people about free lunch and they're like, oh,
they're so excited.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
We need to start giving some other things away. And
I'm going to ask you during the break if we
can do it, okay, because I know you have a
stack of things to give away. Okay, but you probably
I don't want to say you forgot, but you probably
just put it on. Probably did.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
I probably did. I'll be honest, I probably did forget.
So yeah, to those guys, I hope you had fun.
It looks like you did. And then coming up this
weekend is the toughest Monster Trucks and we did a
ton of tickets for that.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
So in our bracket, our bracket challenge winner has four tickets.
Of course, I call. I got a hold of him.
He said, hey, call my brother so he can pick
him up. I got home, got onto another phone call
about something forget to call his brother. So I hate
that Matt and Tyler reach out to me or Buck.
I hate that I'll get you them tickets because.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Does this happen to you. How many times do you
start a thought and you go in your head, I.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Have to do five hundred times a day.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Yeah, call this person the junior head. Two seconds later,
somebody else calls you, and you forget about the thing
you had to do.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
It's just like for days, like, oh oh yeah, I
like all last week, I said, I gotta get my
taxes already, take him to my tax guy. I finally
took him yesterday.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
And when you finally remember, it's like three days later,
and it randomly pops into your head and then you go, oh,
I forgot.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
To get dog food, so he hasn't had food for
four days. I don't do that. I'm teasing.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
I get what you're saying, though. Oh we're gonna go
to a quick break again. Reminder send us name, phone number, company,
Sam at iHeartMedia dot com and we will get you
in the randomizer for today's drawing for free lunch on Friday.
Coming up big win yesterday for our area. What am
I talking about? I am talking about cold that gold

(09:57):
baby mine, baby Mine, seven sixteen. The bloom Daddy Experience,
salmon Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
Welcome Back, seven twenty.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
One the Blue Daddy Experience, OTIS and Sam's News Radio
eleven seventy WWVA.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Well, so did you forget about those things that we
talked about or yes, okay.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
I put them over here in my little my little organizer.
Yeah thing and honestly, our apologies that slipped my mind.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
We're going to be giving away. We're going to be
giving away daily, I think daily. Yeah, we got enough
to give away.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Yeah, oh absolutely absolutely.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
And this is something that everybody can use and it's
not going to be it's nothing fun and fantastic, but
it could save you a little bit of money.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Practical Yeah, we'll call it a practicality prize.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Everybody that has a car could use this.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
There you go, There you go, New friend to Show, New.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Friend of show. And they were also included in the
Bracket Challenge prize package.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
So, and they are highly involved with our Toughest Monster
Truck Nice team. So, and that's with one of our others.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
So we'll share, we'll share more. We're going to kind
of keep you on the edge.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
We're good for It's all about the teases today, all
about the teases. All right, I want to jump into
this because this you know, affects all of us. We
are an area that has for decades been the friends, families,
and in the employees of a proud industry. And of
course I am talking about the coal industry. We have

(11:44):
lived through attacks by the Liberal Party again for decades.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Most notably Hillary Clinton Barack Obama.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
And that's exactly where I was going. I quote, We're
going to put a lot of coal miners and coal
companies out of business, Hillary Clinton, twenty sixteen. I quote.
So if somebody wants to build a coal powered plant,
they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them because
they're going to be charged a huge sum for all

(12:13):
that greenhouse gas that's being admitted Obama two thousand and eight.
Threatening jobs, threatening lifestyles, threatening families. That's how I take
those two quos.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Well, let's not forget that the United States is the
cleanest burning coal country in the world. Okay, we burned
the cleanest coal. We've made the we've adapted, we you know,
they've got all the things to you know, not make it.
You go to China, they don't care. They're just burning. Oh,

(12:47):
it's like it's like nineteen ten in China. That's that's
the emissions and up. So it's not us that's creating
the greenhouse effect. It's China and all these third world
countries that are burning coal just at random. They don't
have an EPA, they don't have standards, they don't have
clean coal, so to speak. And it's not the cold,

(13:09):
it's clean, it's the systems.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Right, yeah, right, So yesterday, huge announcements, huge executive orders
by President Donald Trump. So just a brief overview of
these executive orders. The directs all federal departments and agencies
to eliminate policies deemed discriminatory against the industry. It will

(13:33):
also includes ending a moratorium on coal leasing on federal
lands and accelerates funding for new coal projects. And when
they talk new coal fund projects, if you think back
to last year, we had consult Innovations in here and
we spoke to them about the innovations that they are

(13:54):
coming up with with coal ash, which is the byproduct
of burning the coal. One of their biggest things is
the not planks, that's not the right term for decking,
you know, things like that. So that's what we're talking about.
We're talking about innovations and new projects if you will.
Now along with that part of the executive orders. It

(14:17):
also imposes a moratorium on the Biden era policies that
targeted certain coal fired power plans for closure. It uses
emergency authority to allow older coal plans scheduled for retirement
to continue operating, saving jobs. That's what that means. Addressing
rising power demands from data centers, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicles,

(14:42):
that is one thing to really pay attention to as
we bring manufacturing back into this country under what President
Trump is doing. As we see the rise in artificial
intelligence and data centers, they have to run. They are powered.
What runs them? Electricity? What runs electricity?

Speaker 6 (15:02):
Coal?

Speaker 2 (15:02):
And I don't care when anybody says wind and water
energy production is not sustainable. It is not successful, It
does not function well. But I don't want to go
down that entire path. Take a ride out west. See
how beautiful those uh when powered fields are. It's it's

(15:24):
it's ugly, absolutely ugly. Along with that, let's see here
ensuring federal policies that prioritize secure an effective energy production
using coal and other fossil fuels. It will also calls
for the end of the woke policies that discriminate discriminated
against these sources. So here's another angle to look at

(15:48):
this and pay attention to, which is also the safety
and security of our nation. What this does, it's another
side of indo dependence from other foreign countries. Tariffs has
been a big conversation the past couple weeks, and I

(16:08):
know it has a lot of people worried financially. I
understand that. But the overall picture, and this is just
another cog in the wheel of the plan, is independence
from foreign nations. We need to be financially independent, we
need to be manufacturing independent, and now this is fuel

(16:32):
and energy independent. That is what happened yesterday. That is
the goal with these plans. And here's the other side
of it. Jobs, jobs, good jobs, good paying jobs. And

(16:55):
as I have said before, when you have good paying
jobs in smalltown USA, it trickles down to the entrepreneurs,
the small businesses in main street USA. That's what is
going on. Seven twenty eight. You're listening to the bloom
Daddy Experience SAM and Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA

(17:26):
seven thirty six on your Wednesday. Welcome back to Glenetty Experience.
Otis and SAM News Radio eleven seventy wwva. Wow, it just.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Like nothing like blanket out there.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
I've had to look at the logo in the window. Man, Man,
my apology is there. So we've hit on some national stuff.
So I want to get into some local topics because
later on in the show, of course, we like I've mentioned,
we've got politics unleashed, and we'll get back to some
national things. So we'll hit on that. We'll return to
those conversations. As I said, I want to hit on

(18:01):
some local things. Market Street Bridge the project continues a
little bit of an update. The process of replacing the
bridge in Brook County to Stubenville, Ohio is moving forward.
The Market Street bridge was closed last year after an
inspection revealed deteriorating suspension cables not good. Last summer, approval

(18:24):
was announced of an eighty seven point five million dollar
federal investment to replace the bridge. West Virginia State officials
say they have now received the funding and are looking
for a design consultant. So that is now remind me
which bridge that is with.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
That's the one that connects Brooke County to Market Street
in Steubenville, Okay, So it's below the big bridge. The
newer bridge, the Veterans Bridge. Yes, so it's it's just
north of Fallensby.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Is it the yellowish goldish, it's.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
The one that they laid up. It's blue and gold.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
It's beautiful when it's lit up, and it's especially when
the rivers relatively calm and you get that reflection. It's
kind of like the suspension Bridge. You know, they've dressed
it up where it's very beautiful. Speaking of the suspension bridge,
I saw this. I saw this on social media yesterday.
I did not see the show because I wasn't home.

(19:18):
But Wheeling, West Virginia was the question for an answer
on Jeopardy because they gave you the answer and you
have to guess the question, right, Okay. So it said
this was It showed a picture of the suspension bridge
and said this was at the time, and they gave
the year in eighteen whatever. This was the longest suspension

(19:42):
bridge in the world and it is in this West
Virginia city.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Oh, how cool.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
So the suspension bridge made Jeopardy last night. From my understanding,
was it.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Oh you didn't see the picture. I just wonder if
it was a newer picture of the Bridgelet.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
No, it was one from eighteen twelve, or whenever.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
It's showed the horse and carriage is going across. Yeah, yeah, no, no, no,
I meant since they have done a lot of work painting.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
H Oh, well, here we somebody says, hold on, no,
that's not it. Somebody posted the question hold on, I'm
watching this little episode here. Let me see what it
says when the question pops up, going to pause it. Oh, okay,
so there's a suspension brick.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Road over the.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Ohio River at this West Virginia city, the world's longest art.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
So there you have it.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
What was the value of the question, It was like
one d.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
Hold on to me book. Uh, it's a national road.
This was the eight hundred dollars question. Nothing like having
your phone on bo Let's see here it was one
thousand dollars questions.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Oh yeah, nice, so nice.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Very wheeling made Jeopardy last night.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Oh that's pretty cool. Who's the host of Jeopardy? Did
he finally get it?

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Because it was like it was he and Miambiality. Yeah,
but I think she got the Bloomdaddy always butchered her names.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
She got the boot, didn't she.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Yeah. They basically said, yeah, we're done with you.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Well, then do you see you probably didn't see this.
Ryan Seacrest biffed it on Wheel of Fortune. He went
chasing after a wheel of cheese. All there's it. Ok No,
there's a event in the UK. I think it's called
the Gloucester Cheese Wheel something or other where, and I've

(21:48):
seen I've actually seen a documentary on this. That's how
sad my life is sometimes. But what they do is
they take this wheel of cheese and they let it
down this ginormous hill and all of these stupid.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
People chase it, chase it, okay.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
And they get hurt and they break bones and they
these fleshes.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
It's kind of like they're running the bulls.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
With the cheese with cheese, yes, down a gargantuan hill.
So he was talking about it yesterday for some reason
on Wheel of Fortune and he they found a wheel
of cheese while it is the Wheel of Fortune, and
they rolled it. He went running after it and he
just he faced planted, and Vanna is standing there going,
oh you know, so anyways, yeah, Ryan, little Ryan Seacrest

(22:30):
story for you.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
I could have probably pulled that up and got better audio,
but it was on my phone and I just kind
of put her on my mic.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
So that's what happens when you end up.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
I didn't expect it to be there impromptu.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Well the time, Well, they're listening.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
So what I'll do. That means what I'll do is no,
I searched a person that made the post, ding dong.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
I thought you might have just popped up.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Here, you know, well like I had just seen the
text of it, and then she went back and posted
the video of it. But I can send that to
you and we can put that on our Facebook.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Hopefully I can share it with you.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Yeah. Well, more more local news. Since we were talking
about we're talking about bridges and everything else. Here's another bridge,
this one of course in Ohio, Blaine Bridge. The saga continues.
It looks like the Blaine Bridge rehab project is actually
going to start next month. Good news. The project is

(23:24):
in the pre construction stage and is valued at fourteen
million dollars. Officials closed the bridge last year because of
concerns with cracking. Now, this bridge is right in where
I travel all the time, and it is such a
pain in that, you know what, with this bridge being closed,
So there may be not an end in site A

(23:47):
beginning in site, we're finally getting there and then also
out of Saint Clairsville. A portion of Reservoir Road remains
closed this morning. Crews are working on a project to
replace culverts and catch basins in the area. Drivers won't
have access to a pair of intersections Reservoir Road and
Johnette Drive, as well as Reservoir Road and Northern Harble Drive.

(24:12):
Officials anticipate the work finishing up by the end of
the week. And that's what time of year it is. Listen,
we all know that our roads coming out of winter
need work. It happens every year. Let's not be shocked,
but there is always tons of roadwork going on when
we come out of our winter months. If anybody has

(24:36):
been to Saint Clairsville and has made the right hand
turn into CVS, not at the stop light, the little
side turnoff that goes directly into either I think it's
AutoZone or CVS, there is, don't do it. Go down

(24:56):
to the light. Do not turn right there. It is
like you're gonna you're gonna fall to China. This this
it's not even a hole. It's as if it's as
if the asphalt buckled and it's got It's just it's amazing.
It's huge to that pothole. But I don't want to
go too deep into potholes because I know how exciting

(25:16):
of a conversation that is. There's also one in front
of sheets. Just a heads up, watch that one too,
because it'll rip out the bottom of your car or
completely destroy a tire if you hit it. You look
like you're gonna say something.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
No, I'm looking at something. And they always have. They
always used military time, So I'm trying to figure out
what time is.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
You had a look on your face and your mouth
was half half open, like you were gonna.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Say I was trying to do math.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Oh yeah, that's hard. Math can be hard. Math can
be really hard. I hate math. I hate math. Oh oh,
here's a little another little bit of transportation. We're on
that subject. This is on in Nashville. So the Nashville

(26:05):
International Airport, there is a petition going around to honor
Dolly Parton. They want to do it.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Just do it.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Yeah, change the name to the part in the International Airport.
Why not. Listen, here's the thing. We always wait till
somebody's dead to do some sort of honor, like that
most of the time, most of the time do why
do we wait? Do it now? Why not? The partner airport? Yeah,
rolls off the tongue. Listen, She's Dolly Parton. Everybody loves

(26:35):
Dolly Lumpy.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
You have to go up and then down, up and down.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Oh shoot, shoot shoot shoot like little Hills in the runway.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
I got you not little Triple C's yeah somewhere in there.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Yeah. It's seven forty five. When we get back story
out of Belmont County. We've got fraud, we've got forgery,
we've got money laundering. And who it affects is what
will make you the angriest again. Seven forty six The
bloom Daddy Experience SAM and Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA.

(27:27):
Welcome back, seven fifty one The bloom Daddy Experience Otis
SAM News Radio eleven seventy WWVA remembered that time.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Your chance to wing coming up?

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Yep, just shortly, very very shortly. All right, want to
focus on Belmont County. If you remember, oh gosh, a
month and a half ago now brought you the story
about the arrest of the gentleman in the Struction double homicide.
There is a particular thing that I do where I

(27:59):
monitor different websites to kind of stay on top of things,
find things before the other folks do. Well. This happened
again yesterday, and this one struck a chord with me.
And listen, people like this or who are accused, I

(28:20):
will say, and I'm going to backtrack, accused. It's disturbing,
very very disturbing. What am I speaking about? I am
speaking about. There is an organization called Eastern Ohio Development.
What this group does is they provide independent housing for
developmentally disabled adults and chronically mentally ill adults. So, for example,

(28:49):
if you have a family member who has a child
with let's say severe down syndrome, you have to make
a plan for when you're gone. Okay, I have somebody
like this in my life, and you know, as the parents,
you're not going to be around forever. So if you
don't have another child that's willing to take on that responsibility,

(29:14):
or your only child, you have to make a plan.
If you don't have a plan and this person is left,
there are organizations like this that step into to help
and assist. And this organization owns properties in several counties
across Eastern Ohio, which are rented to qualified individuals again

(29:37):
who are developmentally disabled, through various county boards that are
supported primarily through stateon county funding. So this is an
organization that helps out our adults who are part of
a very special protected class. Unfortunately, this particular organization was

(30:00):
ran by former executive director Casey Antonic, who is now
facing eleven charges. Here are the charges. Felony first degree
engaging in a pattern of corrupt activities, another first degree

(30:21):
felony aggravated theft of one point five million dollars from
this organization. One point five million dollars felony, first degree
telecommunications fraud, which telecom communications fraud involves any illegal activity

(30:41):
where a bad actor uses telecom services or products to
steal money or manipulate networks through deception in exploiting vulnerabilities,
a third degree felony charge, tampering with records, third degree
felony money laundering, and then five counts of forgery. So

(31:06):
in total, eleven charges that the former executive director of
Eastern Ohio Development faces Casey Antonic. Now here's another side
to this. Along with those charges, these penalties may be

(31:29):
adjusted due to the fact this is a protected class
of citizens. So basically taking advantage of or taking from
those who are challenged that can't protect themselves, I think

(31:49):
is a better way of saying it. According to sources,
the money is gone. It will never be returned. Now again,
this money, this organization is funded through stateon County. But
still this is theft from a protected class of people.

(32:16):
I understand that the theft occurred towards the organization Eastern
Ohio Development, but let's be honest, this is taking from
those folks that depend on this organization and other organizations
like it for help and assistance and care. This happened

(32:38):
right here in our own backyard, folks, right here in
Belmont County. Now, Casey Antonic is her first phase of
court appearances happens tomorrow morning where the plea will be
announced and go from there. This has been going on

(33:00):
for a while now, This investigation and the the fraud
in the theft has been going on for multiple years
at this point, but Casey Antonic is going to face
judgment and again accused not guilty. Nothing has come to

(33:23):
an end in the corproceedings this currently, as I said,
she is accused allegedly stole one point five million dollars
from Eastern Ohio. Eastern Ohio Housing Development Corporation, who cares
for and houses are developmentally disabled adults. Think about that.

(33:53):
Think about that has eleven charges. She is facing facing
eleven charges one point five million dollars. We'll be in
court tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. And as this
story develops, of course, we will continue to bring you

(34:14):
the information. Seven fifty eight OTIS one eight hundred and
sixty two four eleven seventy.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
We have a gift certificate to new friend of show,
McCormick's Auto Service located at sixteen oh three Wheeling Avenue
in Glendale, twenty five dollars. Gift certificate goods for oil change,
tire rotation, whatever you need and anything in the story
color number thirteen.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
See number one talk show in the Ohio Valley. This
is the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on news radio eleven seventy WWVA starts now six.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
It's a Wednesday, so you know what time it is
here on the Blue Daddy Experience. It's time for politics
on leash with the one and only Elgie mccardal the
joining us via the road, via the road. Good morning,
Good morning, How are you good?

Speaker 5 (35:19):
Are you?

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Where are you traveling?

Speaker 6 (35:23):
I'm traveling back from the southern part of West Virginia
because I had a seminar, oh the last couple of days,
so and just heading back now so that I can
do more work and join you.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Of course, Well, talking about the last several days. I
don't know if you heard, but we had a particular
political figure visit the valley on Monday and I went.
And I'm sure you're incredibly jealous you did not get
to join me. Of course, I'm talking about Governor Walls.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
Yes, I am extremely jealous. Period. How was the attendance
comparatively to the vake event?

Speaker 2 (36:08):
You know, I've had a couple of people ask me that.
I will say this, the coverage on the local news
stations was a little deceiving. I will say I did
a head count prior to him arriving, probably about five
to ten minutes before he arrived. Prior to that and
all of his entourage filling the room, there was about

(36:30):
thirty seven thirty eight people will leave a window for
a couple I missed. Then they arrived, and I would
say there was forty five to fifty. Now keep in
mind we were in the basement of a very small
home that sits across the street from the abandoned former
Martins Ferry Wheeling Pittsburgh Pittsburgh Steel location. So it was

(36:52):
a very small home and we were in the basement,
and it was probably the size of the entry of
the Capital Theater roughly. So if that paints the picture
for you, wow, yeah, wow.

Speaker 6 (37:08):
That's all I can say is wow. And then it's
my understanding that there were one union union reps there.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Yes, Yes, for the u m w A, and I
saw a couple folks from the us w A United
steel Workers.

Speaker 6 (37:24):
Okay. Meanwhile in Washington, d C. You have the Line
coal miners attending with President Trump, who signed you know,
who presented another I think executive order making cole a priority.
And it's just it's just I think it's a stark

(37:46):
difference between you know, leadership and line. Yes, it's And
I saw some of the coverage. It disserves me that
I was not in center market feeling that see Governor
Walls eat a poman fish sandwich and have some alligators suits.
That was the real that happened to be going around

(38:08):
social media. Really, I mean really, well, you know, not
to say listen, I think it's good that you get
different perspectives, but if he is the hope of the
democratic future, they got the issues and they'd better find
somebody else. And you know, he seems personable enough, but

(38:32):
he's not going to leave it. Actually, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
He's just not well. And here's the thing. I'm glad
you brought up the unions that were in intendance because listen,
I have said this time and time again. I am
the wife and a daughter of a coal miner. I
I know the world, I know the lifestyle. I grew
up in it and I and I live in it
today as an adult. The representatives that were there for

(38:55):
the UMWA, what I took from that, they got up
and they spoke, and they spoke very nicely. They never
mentioned the current employees. They never mentioned the future of
the industry. What they mentioned was the union. That was it.

Speaker 6 (39:20):
That was it exactly. And I think you have to
you have to wonder, it's like, how can you support
this band who basically thanked your industry and yet you
have the line here, Like you said, the line workers
whose lives are affected, you know, are supporting tops. You know,

(39:44):
you have to wonder if it's part of the I
guess it's part of the deep state. Part of the
deep state. It's the kickbacks, it's those where's the money going?
And that's kind of where it is.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Well, let me ask you this. You've been in the
political game for for much longer than I have. What
what is the point of this cross country trip by Walls?
I mean you mentioned possibly him running for for a
higher office, but from the from the party side of things,
what is what is the point of this?

Speaker 6 (40:22):
I'm gonna say that, you know, especially in the High Valley,
I think they're trying to evaluate what is important in
the heartland. Perhaps, I mean, maybe that's it, because they've
they've got to identify what it is the speak to
the heartland of America. You know, in the High Valley, Ohio,

(40:47):
you know our area, it all, it's the heartland. It's
been said that Ohio, the state of Ohio is a
represents the population of the attitude states in one small state.
So you have you know that you have the large cities,

(41:07):
you have the rural areas, and you know everything in between,
and so it gives you a good I guess measuring
sticks of the issues that are important around get to
the table. And perhaps that's the reason for the trip.
And I would say probably combined with you, how does

(41:29):
he resonate? I'm pretty sure that there are others that
are going, you know, to California, you know, in Chicago
and other areas that they've got to figure it out,
and they've got to figure it out quickly because if
they don't figure it out quickly, they're they're going to tank.
You know, There's there's so many things. I mean, we

(41:49):
are we are pretty much one year out from the
mid term closter one year out and and it's they've
got to figure it out well.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
And the other the other part of that appearance that
you know, I went into it thinking, I want to
hear something new. I want to hear the direction that
they're going. I want to hear, you know, his thoughts
on the future of the country. Didn't hear any of that?
We heard, you know, I heard the same old we

(42:20):
are the working Man's Party, We're we're the we're the
We're there for the small, the small man and man
and woman, we are you know, we're for the salt
of the earth and the Republicans are the evil billionaires.
And and you know, the way they talked about it,
I expected to hear a giggle from from doctor Evil
from Austin Powers. That's how you know they referred to,

(42:40):
you know, the Republicans are the party of the rich.
And they're still tone deaf. They're still tone deaf.

Speaker 6 (42:49):
Yeah that is. And if that was the message that
was being delivered, then they are absolutely tone deaf, because
it's exactly the opposite. I think. I think that's it
perfectly clear to the last elections that the parties have
switched personality. And you know, the Republican Party is for

(43:10):
the working man. Trump is for the working man. Trump
is you know, that's the whole point of the parish
is for the working man and to bring the bring
the bombs back to the United States. So I think
if that's what if the purpose of the trip was
to try to you know, Dana Gage or the what
message to be delivered it, or maybe they're giving that
message to see how how it's how it's accepted. But

(43:33):
I don't think it's going to resume. We've thought in Wheeling, Les, Viginia.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
The other the other thing that I want to mention
real quick, that uh was actually shocking was the fact
that we were in a we were in a building
across the street from just one of the multiple let's
call them, zombie facilities of the manufacturing or the creation

(44:00):
of things that we used to have here across the
Ohio Valley. And not once, not once, was it mentioned
that here sits a facility, facility that employed how many
thousands of Ohigh Valley residents that has sat abandoned because
prior officials from both sides of the aisle shipped our

(44:25):
jobs across the ocean. Not once was that highlighted in
that conversation on Monday.

Speaker 6 (44:34):
And again they will lose. I mean, you know that
that would have been opportunity to discuss the Paris I mean,
it's but they have such a they have such an agenda,
the socialist left woke agenda that they still are sticking to.
And it's as though, did you take any position contrary

(44:57):
to that, your trainer to the Democratic Party. All right,
I don't know if you saw the video, well, old old,
old video.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
Hold you can you hold your thought on that video?
Can we we're gonna jump to a quick break and
then we'll discuss that because I think I know the
one you're talking about, so hold that thought. It's eight sixteen.
We're right in the middle of politics Unleashed with Elgiam mccardal,
samon OTAs News Radio eleven seventy WWVA. Welcome back. It's

(45:29):
eight twenty two The blim Daddy Experienced salmon Otis News
Radio eleven seventy WWVA. We're right in the middle of
politics Unleashed with Elgin mccardal. Before we jump back to her,
just a reminder coming up here shortly. We're gonna have
your next chance to win a gift certificate to our
friends at McCormick's Auto Service down in Glendale, so that

(45:50):
will be coming up here a little bit later. So
back to Elgin. Before we went to the break, you
were going to mention a particular video that has resurfaced
from the past, if you want to go ahead with that.

Speaker 6 (46:07):
The video of Nancy Pelosi pointing out with charts how
unfair the trade system was with China and how it
basically sent our jobs across, you know, across the ocean
and lost pocket ability for the United States, et cetera,
and the tariffs that were unfair. It is amazing. Well,

(46:31):
first of all, was amazing to see her as such a young,
very you know, actually well spoken up and coming. I mean,
it was it was kind of interesting to see her
in that capacity. And also I think speaking for the
American people.

Speaker 5 (46:47):
Where the Democratic Party was.

Speaker 6 (46:49):
Actually in the PLAF advocating for the American worker. And
then you know, you pass forward to twenty twenty.

Speaker 5 (46:58):
Five, and now it's the exact opposite. So to say
that the Democratic Party is for the you know, average
my worker, it's not so in twenty twenty five. It
might have been you know what year was that when
Nancy was advocated that do you recall?

Speaker 6 (47:17):
It was?

Speaker 2 (47:18):
So here here's a quote from her from that day.
It was in it was in June of nineteen ninety six,
and she said, how far does China have to go?
How much more oppression, how big a trade deficit? How
many jobs have to be lost for the American workers,
how much dangerous proliferation has to exist before members of
this House of Representatives will say I will not endorse

(47:42):
the status quo. That was That's what Nancy Pelosi said
in nineteen ninety six.

Speaker 6 (47:49):
How kings have changed? You know, where were you in
nineteen ninety six?

Speaker 2 (47:54):
You know that's the question, right, but you.

Speaker 6 (47:56):
Know that was in the Quinton error, you know it.
It is amazing, you know, new fingerage. You know there
was some common sense in DC which has just completely
been eradicated and gone out the door. But yeah, so
that's that's that's where we are well.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
And of course that brings up the conversation of of
tariffs and listen, I've talked to multiple people, and you know,
people are worried, people are hesitant, and listen, I don't
disagree with them. I understand, and we've talked about that.
But let me ask you this. We've just started. So

(48:35):
how can how do we ask trust? Trust the process?
This is this? Don't you think President Trump is trying
to reverse decades of selling out of the American worker.
You can't just change it within one hundred days.

Speaker 6 (48:56):
No, you can't. But you have to start somewhere. People
are always resistant to change, and change you should come
with some you know, pain. If he said what what
you'd call it panics, They'll don't become a panic something anyway,
I forget what the word was over the weekend. But
in any event, if you can't you can't change things overnight,

(49:18):
if you can't snap your fingers or you know, put
your nose and everything magically.

Speaker 5 (49:26):
Profect.

Speaker 6 (49:27):
It will take time. But he is actually putting into
motions those things that are going to effect Well, you know,
if parents were so bad, I mean, riddle me this,
If parents were so bad, why is it that the
entire global economy has them, and they have them If

(49:48):
you look at the history, they have the tariff for
the purpose of after you know, World War two, trying
to bring me back, you know, the the damaged economy
of their world country. So there was a there was
a trade. You know, this is what we're going to do,
and we're going to pay you higher tariffs so that
you can get your company or your organization or government

(50:11):
back on track. And that's what they are for, you know.
And then just over the years they have been used
and miss used to basically take advantage of the American people.
It's kind of like I liking it to the congressional
funding that has been put out, you know, over the years.
But those just now said okay, well this is no

(50:32):
longer appicable, so let's let's you know, sail back on
it and get rid of that because we're wasting money.
Same thing with the tariff. Why do you continue to
have an unequal trade power with those countries and then
we're just to our detriments. You know, we can't we
can't do that. So so good tariffs are good, but

(50:55):
it's going to take time. Now the question is what
what's the crime frame and what's the trigger. I think
the the e comments are saying that, you know within
four years that the block market is going to bounce back.
What's going to happen, you know, in the midterms when
one of these deals going to start taking place, and

(51:20):
I think probably in the in the big team of things,
it's time for prompt and Rubio and the administration to
really take a look at Korea, Vietnam, Japan and start
making those deals so that to deal with those countries
who have come to the table and said, hey, we
want to we want to trade, we want to do

(51:41):
this fairly, we want to you know, bring bring our
company to the United States, whatever it is that they're
working on. They need to get those done now so
that the stock market can react and and go up
and people can have some sort of.

Speaker 3 (52:00):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (52:00):
Okay, okay, hold, I thought we got to jump to
a break because I want to ask you, is the
court system being used to silence the voter? The bloom
Daddy Experience salmon otis Hey thirty six, Welcome back the
Blue Daddy Experience, salmon otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA.

(52:22):
That was a cutoff real quick with the music.

Speaker 3 (52:24):
I was turning Elgin up and that went down, and
I just might I just know, I just did it
real quick.

Speaker 2 (52:30):
Hey, just real quick. Two things, Last call for free
lunch Fridays to register sam Atiheartmedia dot com name phone
number in business again, last call. We'll be picking that
winner here at the end of the show. Well, the
randomizer will be not us at the end of the show.
And then also a reminder that coming up very shortly,

(52:51):
we're gonna have your next chance to win a gift
certificate to our new friends of show at McCormick's mccormicks
Auto Service, So that will be coming up here short
of course, still with us, we have miss Elgin mccardial
on the phone. So all right, I've got to ask
you this, Elgin. We keep hearing executive order after executive order,

(53:13):
countered almost immediately by lawsuit, lawsuit, lawsuit, last count Since January,
there's been one hundred and seventy lawsuits filed against the
different executive orders done by this administration. Whether we're talking doge,
whether we're talking particulars that the President has done, say

(53:34):
protecting women's sports, there's lawsuit after lawsuit at this point
in time. A Number one, is it not only comical,
it's a waste of time of our legal system. And
are they not at this point trying to stifle the
voters and their desires and wants done by this administration?

Speaker 6 (53:57):
Yes, I mean, you know that's the against. It's the beauty.
It's of the three branches that we have, the executives,
the judicial, and the legislatives of the competing branches that
are checks and balances on one another. And yes, I

(54:18):
absolutely agree that there should be checks and balances, but
an abuse of the visual system or legislating from the
bench are just correndous. I mean, it's just it's a
horrendous way to go forward in the legal system that
was established by the family fathers. The legal system was

(54:41):
established to challenge and interpret, to challenge certainly to challenge
the power of the executive branch to interpret the laws
passed by the legislative branch. But it wasn't for the
purpose of targeting one or forum shopping, as they have

(55:02):
done with the one Jige who has gotten a lot
of the cases. Now they say, oh, well, no, that's
just the random No, it's not random.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
You know.

Speaker 6 (55:12):
The one of the things that the Supreme Court issued
over the weekend was that you're in the wrong court.
You shouldn't be in DC.

Speaker 5 (55:21):
Different the court.

Speaker 6 (55:22):
You should be in Texas. So the forum shopping and
the standing are all issues that need to be addressed.
So what is that? What does that mean? Forum shopping standing?
In order to have a case, bring the case before
any particular court, a person who has to have standing.
In other words, you have to have an actual harm
or that it affects you or your corporation or whoever is.

(55:45):
Bring Oh a lot the three I'm sorry, go.

Speaker 2 (55:50):
Ahead, no, no, no, go ahead, We lost you there for
a second. Go ahead.

Speaker 6 (55:54):
Okay, So you have that standing, so that you have
to have a you have unstanning, You have to have
an issue in controversy. So you can't just say this generally.
For example, the the firing of the probationary employees that
was upheld by this but the fret work that you're

(56:16):
allowed to do it, you know, and they said you cannot.
You have the suit was brought on the premise that
this is going to hurt the general population. Well, general,
you can't argue that it hurts the general population. You
have to have a specific plaintifs. So it gets into

(56:37):
a lot of legality. But probably the easiest way to
explain it is that I don't know if you recall
all of the lawsuits that were brought by the Trump
administration to challenge the election every election, but I remember that,
and the Democrats made a big deal about, oh, you lost,
you lost, you lost. Well, it's not that you lost,

(56:58):
it's just the the Supreme Court said dismissed a lot
of them for lack of standing. Okay, same thing is
happening now.

Speaker 3 (57:05):
Who is it.

Speaker 6 (57:06):
Lawsuits are being brought by the left or these you know,
nonprofit organizations that say they're advocating for the general population.
They're being dismissed for lack of standing. The Sampoort basically
said these can all be tried on the merits, But
you're not going to stop and stay the administration's policies

(57:28):
that are being done in furtherance of statutes that have
been passed by the legislature. If you want to challenge them,
that's fine, you can, but you're going to do so
in the district court and the proper district court where
there is a planeiff that have standing. So that's a
long kind of circuitous response to your question. But yes,

(57:52):
they should be challenged, but they should be challenging the
right court for the right plantufs for the right reason.
And it is And do you.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
Do you think the voter is tired of seeing this
that you know, they tried to put him in prison.
They tried to weaponize our legal system to put him
in prison. Now they're using our legal system to stop
him doing the job.

Speaker 6 (58:18):
Right and and stop him from implementing his policies, which
they cannot they cannot do. And you know the thing
about Trump and this administration is he has had four
years to figure it out. How is it that I
can put this policy through? And what law that is

(58:38):
existing that he don't need Congress, like the Alien Alien
Act to go forward. He is invoking the Alien whatever
service one hundred alien acts to deport people, and he's
doing so within the confines of the law. I think
the Supreme Court said you can do so. But once

(59:00):
you went both, you have to give them good bot.
So there's there's it's kind of like a you know,
a fine line, but you still have to give up
their hearing. So there, there's there. There are a lot
of nuances in both laws that have passed by the
legislature and case law that is interpreted by the any
judicial system that need to be fully read. You can't

(59:22):
just take pick and choose lines out of an opinion
or pick and choose a line out of a statue.

Speaker 2 (59:31):
And use it to use it to your vantage.

Speaker 6 (59:33):
I think we have to figure out what what what
goes and what doesn't.

Speaker 2 (59:38):
Well, you know what, Elgin, We're gonna let you go
a little bit early, since you're driving. We want to
keep everybody safe out there.

Speaker 6 (59:47):
Well, thank you appreciated.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
No no, no, thank you for your time this morning. Again,
safe travels on your journey back here to the glorious
Ohio Valley.

Speaker 6 (59:57):
All right, oh yeah, absolutely, all right, great day.

Speaker 2 (59:59):
All right, well to you next week. Oh there's so
much in their otis unpack. Wow, and have we actually
made a hundred days yet? I don't think we're even
out of hunt now, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
I don't think so. No, we haven't even getting close.

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
We're getting close. We're getting close. Man, Man, tons there,
tons there to unpack. Just a reminder we have our
next chance to win mccormicks. That's coming up here in
a little bit. We got a couple of yeah, yeah,
in seconds. One thing about this, I want to let

(01:00:34):
everybody know. Along with the usage of this on work
for your vehicle, they also have items inside that you
can use this for too, so.

Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
You can like travel mugs, air fresheners, probably anything car
we needed.

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
Yeah, I'll be honest, I probably shouldn't say this. I
have not been through there. So maybe I'll take a
visit down and get some pictures inside and shore everybody
what they do have to offer, because, like I said,
it's more than just your traditional oil change, you know,
So we'll pop in there and get some additional information.

(01:01:11):
What number you want to do otism.

Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
I don't care you tell me. We did thirteen last time,
So let's do something different.

Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
Let's do something different. Let's do let's do a single
digit now, okay, let's do fourteen. Okay, one up from thirteen.
I like even numbers. One hundred and sixty two four
eleven seventy.

Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
That's kind of strange because you're odd about a botch.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
One hundred sixty to four eleven seventy. Caller number fourteen
for your chance to win McCormick's auto and again, last
call name phone number. Business Free lunch on Fridays delivered
by the one and Only and her better half.

Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
You got that rate?

Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
Oh it's a forty five. You're listening to the Bombaddy
Experienced salmon Otis News Radio eleven seventy WWVA fifty glim
Daddy Experienced salmon Otis News Radio eleven seventy ww b A.

(01:02:20):
You're looking at me puzzled. Congrats to Tom.

Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
No, I'm not looking at you puzzled.

Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
Our latest winner, latest winner.

Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
I just look at you like that every once in
a while.

Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
Oh listen, I love talking about Florida. Told you told
you a million times, but this one may take the cake.
So there is a man who's been identified is Daniel Cirillo.
He was arrested outside of an Applebee's in clear Water

(01:02:54):
wearing a pink wig, fake tatas, and a pick a
pink thong. He was causing a disturbance. Surprise, surprise, he
was intoxicated. Shocker. Police found him stumbling in the parking
lot and attempting to enter different vehicles that were not

(01:03:15):
his own. Soirilla appeared to disorient and it could not
answer basic questions about his whereabouts. Arrested for disorderly intoxication,
he was taking to taken to jail and later released
after pleading guilty to what was a misdemeanor charge. He
faces fines five hundred and seventy dollars. The bigger question

(01:03:40):
is why the pink wig and the pink thong.

Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
You're just turned on by that?

Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
Who oh? Every day set you see something and I
don't know. All you can do is scratch your head anymore,
you know what I mean? Like the video I showed
you yesterday after the show of the what are they

(01:04:07):
calling it human dog training or human they it doesn't matter, goofy, Yeah,
people in dog masks. And now they have this competition
where you know, they fetch and they roll over and
they answer to commands and nothing surprises you anymore, nothing nothing,

(01:04:34):
But but here's here's the thing. If you have a pet,
a real pet, a furry pet, not a human pet
that answers to commands that you can take to a
obedience training, not not one of those freaks, let's say
what they are. They're freaks. But if you do have
a if you do have a regular pen pet. The

(01:04:54):
University of Kent just did a recent study and it
suggests that owning a pet has a positive impact on
your life. Has an impact on your wallet too. I
know that for a fact, but it adds an equivalent
of happiness that's around a value of eighty nine thousand

(01:05:18):
dollars a year. So I don't know how you value
and put a dollar figure on happiness, but they did.
The research was based on a survey of twenty five
hundred households. Indicates that pet ownership provides similar benefits to
those derived from marriage and a substantial monetary value associated

(01:05:42):
with companionship of pets. They also say petting enhances your
life over the year too, So there are benefits to
a pet. Otis do you feel like you think? Do
you think your guy brings you a eighty nine thousand
dollar value of happiness every year?

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
I think he costs me about eighty nine thousand dollars
a year between the dog food and getting these nails trimmed.
Like most people can take their dog and get their
nails trimmed, for say, I don't know, fifteen twenty bucks,
uh huh. For me, it's almost it's like eighty five
dollars to get his nail trimmed because he has to
go on chill protocol and all this stuff. So you

(01:06:25):
have to give him medicine beforehand, the night before, the
morning before. Then you take him and then they charge
you double because it takes two people to Trimmy's nails.
It's like he's he's an a hole when you go
to Trimmy's Tony, and he's a big boy, and that's
the only thing that he gets mad about, like he
will he hates when you go to his toenails.

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
Other than that, he's he's.

Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
Like the calmest dog in the world. I mean, he
doesn't give that appearance at times because he gets excited. Yeah,
but like the other day, somebody there was a young
lady walking her doll and I walked out to get
the mail, so they kind of met and I just
had to pull him back a little bit. Because he
was excited to see another dog. That's all right, And

(01:07:09):
that other dog was a little intimidated, So I call him,
you know, I got mine and pulled him back. But yeah,
I mean between his toenails and his food. I mean
I buy a bag of food I think every three weeks,
and it's about eighty five dollars a bag. Because he's
got those allergies. So you can only get him certain foods. Right,
It's not like I can just go and buy the

(01:07:29):
average kibble. He has to have. It has to be
what is it, lamb and brown rice, and it doesn't
have some of the ingredients, Like it doesn't have barley
or corn or eggs or potatoes or anything in it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
He's a diva dog.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
Well not by choice, no, no, but he loves he
loves women, loves women.

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
Oh yeah, he liked me the day he was here.

Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
Listen, I took him out for a walk. He's got
an attitude, like, I mean, I respect him.

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
Dog dogs reflect their own.

Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
So like I was walking, I can't remember where we were,
it was one of the parks or whatever. And this
this younger, you know, i'd say, in her twenties, walked
by and she said, oh, can I pict your dog?
So I had him sit and she's scratching his head
and he just looked back at me like, yep, she's
paying attention to me, not you. And I'm like, yeah,
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
He's a big man on campus. Yeah, he's a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Like it's like like he gave me, like he gave
me the finger with his eyes, and I'm like, and
you do you think I'm kidding. We can walk down
the street and if somebody said, if there's a chick
that wants the petty, you watch He'll turn around and
look at me like, Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
I'm the man, Yep, I'm the man.

Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
Yep. That's funny.

Speaker 2 (01:08:44):
I'd love to see that look.

Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
And then I just want to punch him right in
the head, but I think i'd break my hand because
he's head so big.

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
And real quick. This kid eight years old, This is
amazing Utah boy. His name is Smith. He had a
brush with death while jumping on a trampoline, which you
always hear that, but a sudden wind gus lifted him
twenty feet into the air and set him flying get

(01:09:16):
a parachute and he survived.

Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
So the trampoline and he went flying.

Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
Yes, yes, so, Jake, you're lucky. All right, let's do it.
Free lunch fridays, all right, otis put in twelve into.

Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
The randomizer, and let's see one to twelve and the
number is number nine, number nine.

Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Okay, we have Melissa, Melissa from Cardinal Health. I'll be
contacting you. Congratulations, free lunch on us. Everybody, have a
great Wednesday. We will be talking to you tomorrow
