Speaker 1 (00:01):
D number one Tuck Show in the Ohio Valley. This
is the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain, and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on News Radio eleven seventy. WWVA starts now the.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Bloom Daddy Experience. It's seven oh six on news Radio
eleven seventy. Let's go live to Washington, DC right now,
Brad Garrett, ABC News Crime.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
And Terrorism Analyst.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Next month, Jeffrey Epstein will have been dead for six years,
but this week he's.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Back in the headlines again.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
And you take a look at like Google entries and
stuff like that. Jeffrey Epstein's approaching six million searches in
counting this week, and the topic is trending up.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
Why I think for the following if you go back
quickly to twenty nineteen, and you look at what Epstein
was charged with, which is the sexual expectation of dr
age girls.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
In that case hits all of us in a very
emotional way, use of kids, and so you start with that.
It isn't like he got charged with some sort of
fraud or bribery or whatever it might be. So if
you work off of that, and you come forward and
you have President Trump for a long time talk about
(01:24):
Epstein and these files should be released, and inferring there
was some sort of client list, and you know, it
was a popular subject for him during his most recent
campaign last year. So we get he gets elected, he
comes to office, and he starts again talking about it.
He gets his ag to talk about it. Then she
(01:46):
claims that she's going to go through the file and
intimates the sort of or suggests that there's a client list.
She doesn't next toly use those words, and that they're
going to release the documents, and then all of a
sudden just do a one eighty and say we're releasing anything,
but with no explanation. And so I think even some
(02:08):
of his early ardent followers are going, well, that's not right.
He told us all along, And I think they're thinking
that there's some sort of cover up as to why
he's not releasing it. Well, you know, and I have
no idea why he's not. I can make some educated
guesses why he's not releasing it, but I don't know
(02:29):
the truths. But clearly he's digging in. And the only
reason he would dig in, in my view, is that
there's clearly something in those files in reference to him
or reference to other super important, high profile people that
may even touch the international community that he's maybe friends
(02:49):
with or allies with, that he does not want the
information out. There's some combination of what I just said
has to be in the ballpark as to why he
would not release it.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
So, if there is something in there about him, why
wouldn't the previous administration have released it?
Speaker 5 (03:07):
You know, that's a good question.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
I mean, this is where we go. I mean, like
go some circles.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
I understand, but you know, he crosses a lot of
boundaries other people won't cross, and I think that, you know,
people want to respect. You know, what was found. It
was never made public. You know, Epstein never made it
to trial. Obviously, to lean Maxwell is the woman who
(03:33):
facilitated a large amount of his sex traffic and stuff.
You know, he's doing twenty years. She could fill in
some blanks for both of us if we had her
on the radio right now. But you know, other than that,
I that's I think other administrations wouldn't do it because
they didn't think it was the right thing to do.
And I think they're right in that regard.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Talking to Brad Garrett, ABC News Crime and Terrorism analyst
line from Washington, DC.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Could it just be that.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
We always think that, you know, so many people out
there just always think there has to be a conspiracy.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Maybe there wasn't a list.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
I mean, Alan Dershowitz's lawyer came out and said, look,
there's no list. I was his attorney. There's no list.
There's no secret. Videotapes of people doing anything in bedrooms.
Yeah there were, there were, you know, cameras, but they
were in hallways or places where a bunch of people gather.
There simply are no tapes or there is no list.
I mean, you know, I use this example when when
(04:29):
Barack Obama campaigned, it was I'm gonna close Guantanamo because
he doesn't have all the inflammation. At the time he
becomes president, he never closed Guantanamo. Why because he knew
it was still vital. He didn't know that when he
was running. Let's take a look at Trump running again. Well,
we're gonna release that list. Blah blah blah. You know,
intimating that there is a list, you get in there
and all of a sudden, hey, there's no list. I
(04:50):
mean cash Betel Dan Bongino. These are guys that, oh,
there's a list, it needs to be released. Now they're saying, yeah,
there's no list. I mean maybe we just want to
c the conspiracy theories.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
Maybe, but quickly, it doesn't really matter if there's a
list or not. What matters is within all the documents
that are interviews that the FBI has done that may
shed light on or point directly toward things that people
are reporting they witnessed, that happened on the boat, in
one of the mansions, whatever it might be. So it's
(05:24):
the documents themselves that are more important than the lists
as far as I'm concerned. So, yeah, if there wasn't
a list, so what But is there information in those
files because investigators, you know, we're thorough. My guess is
the answer to that is yes.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
You know.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I think you know. Here's the sad part, Brad, and
you brought it up. I mean, everybody should be sickened
by what this guy did, and I'm sure most people
are when it comes to kids and sex trafficking and
things like that.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
But the people who want this list, they don't care
about that.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
They just want big names that they could use for
political ammunition, like damn. Who gives a damn what Jeffrey
Epstein actually did. It's just I want to try to
run somebody into the dirt. But we saw the same
thing with P Diddy. I mean it was, oh, all
these celebrities are going to be exposed for this, and
then it's a nothing burger.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I think we're all tired of nothing burgers, right, And I.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
Think in this case it may not. I don't know
if it goes to nothing burgers, but it certainly goes
to something that Trump feels strongly about. You know, let's
just say that it's somebody that he's allied with in
some foreigner Arab country that has some connection to Epstein
that would be damaging to his relationship with them, et cetera.
(06:42):
You know, it just strikes me as something like that.
You're right, it may not have to do with Trump directly,
but maybe he has something to do with people that
Trump wants to protect.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
All right, Brad Garrett, ABC News Crime and Terrorism analysts,
Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Brad.
Speaker 5 (06:57):
You're welcome to take care all right, Brad.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Live from Washington, DA.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
You see, I just think that anymore, you know, here's
another angle to this too, when it comes to powerful
people with money, You're never gonna find out the truth.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
I mean again, look at p Diddy.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
All these celebrities were supposed to be exposed all this time.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Nothing.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
You take a look at this list, all these people nothing.
You know when you start getting up in the multime, muldtime,
millionaire layer, billionaire layer, all these people roll together, they
lie together, and they cover up stuff together.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
Friday, folks, we made it. It's a Friday the Blue
Daddy experience. I'm Sam, the gentleman to my left. Behind
the big mirror. Otis good morning mirror, not a mirror window.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (07:53):
All right here we go, just just piggybacking off of yesterday.
Speaker 8 (08:00):
And somebody made a comment to you last night, didn't they? Uh? Okay,
So did you get his name?
Speaker 6 (08:08):
No? I think it was it was it was either
Rob or Bob. I couldn't hear quite well because it
was packed. Otis your is referring to last night? I
was a guest judge at the Pike Idol and it
was uh jamboree themed night, so it was country music.
It was great. It was so much fun. I felt
(08:28):
so welcomed, had an absolute blast, kicked off, went through
the first We were halfway through the first round and
our lovely mc taylor gave us a break and I
was on my way to the little girl's room and
this gentleman stopped me and of course they gave you know,
(08:50):
they introduceders to stuff and they said, you know, this
is Sam from the morning show on WWVA, the experience
with the bloom Died Experience samon Otis and oh okay,
they're excited. That was great. And as I was going
to the restroom during this break, this gentleman stopped me and, yeah,
listen to you guys every morning. Love listening to your
funny this and that, he said. And he kind of
(09:10):
looked at me with a kind of a cock eyed head, little,
you know, a little confused look, and he said, how
do you say it judging a music competition? Eh? I said,
uh huh?
Speaker 8 (09:23):
Was he FROMAD I know?
Speaker 6 (09:26):
And I said, I said yeah, and he's He kind
of looked at me. He goes, well, the Beatles are
a rock band, not a boy band, and I went, oh, oh,
you listened this morning. So I don't know if he
thought I had the right qualifications or credentials last night
to be judging a music competition based on the conversation
(09:49):
we had yesterday. So again to Bob or Rob, not
exactly sure what the name was, couldn't hear it clearly
because it was packed there. Thank you for pointing that out.
And I put on my humble hat after that little
bit of statement. But you gave otis a wonderful laugh
to kick off this morning. So absolutely, But with that
(10:15):
being said, it kind of leads us into it's a Friday,
which you know what we like to do. We like
to have fun. We want your thoughts, we want your opinions,
we want your choices, your picks. So that leads us
into our first question for this Friday goes right off
of the heels of our conversation yesterday and the Beatles
(10:37):
Mount Rushmore, Mount Rushmore of rock and roll? Who would
you put on that Rushmore? It can be a singer
or a band, because when we're talking rock and roll,
as we learned yesterday, that's a very broad spectrum of conversation.
So it would be four, right.
Speaker 8 (10:57):
You're going for four four?
Speaker 6 (10:59):
So four? Who would be on your Mount Rushmore of rock?
Speaker 8 (11:06):
Are you asking me?
Speaker 6 (11:07):
No, I'm just letting everybody know. And then later on
in the show, We're gonna have a second question, so
start percolating this one. If you could own any piece
of movie memorabilia, what would you want? So that's going
to be our second question later on in the show,
so start thinking about that now. Both of these questions,
(11:29):
of course, are up on our Facebook page. Just go
there and leave your comments in the comment field. Or
of course, if you're driving and you want to text us,
not texting and driving voice texting. I have voice text
That's why I went there. If you want to voice
text us, the number is seven zero four seven zero.
Start the message off with bloom Daddy, and then give
(11:51):
us your answers again what rock and roll artist or
band should be on the mount rushmore for rock and roll?
And then also what piece of movie memorabilia would you
want to own? So we're gonna kick off the rock
and roll topic with Pam Pamela, she gave us four Okay, Elvis.
Speaker 8 (12:15):
I don't know how you don't put him on, but okay.
Speaker 6 (12:17):
Michael Jackson okay, Whitney Houston, what yeah? And Johnny Cash
the last two Whitney, I've got it. Sorry, Sorry, Pam,
I got to say now on Whitney. I gotta say
now on Whitney Johnny Cash.
Speaker 8 (12:38):
Johnny Cash started out as a rock and roller. He
was on Sun Records with with Carl Perkins, Elvis.
Speaker 6 (12:45):
That whole generation of m Jerry Lee Lewis was on there.
I just don't think rock when I think Johnny Cash. No.
Speaker 8 (12:54):
I mean, obviously you don't, because he you know, fell
more later in life as the kind of tree genre, right,
But he was a rockabillity kind of guy to start with,
and it carried over into the countryside. I can give you,
I can give her three of the four. I mean,
Whitney Houston amazing talent. I mean, can sing, could sing
(13:19):
like nobody else. I'm not going to disagree with that.
I just don't think that she's one of the greatest
four rock and roll rock and roll people of all time. No,
but I put her in the top two hundred, one hundred,
maybe yeah, maybe top fifty. I mean, just for her
singing alone, I put her in the top ten. Like
(13:41):
I said, I saw her in concert Morgantown. It was
like watching a stick stand on the stage.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
She was born.
Speaker 8 (13:47):
She didn't move at all until like then when she did.
I want to dance with somebody, Like she just shuffled
from side this lande Like she didn't even dance like
she did in the video, Like and she didn't even
do that. Yeah, she's just like Yeah, maybe she waved
her arm a little bit, that wasn't holding the mic. Yeah,
So I mean, you know, okay, like I said, I'm yeah,
(14:09):
I guess it depends on how you approach this, Like
do you do you do it as personal favorites? Do
you do it as out of respect? You know? You
see what I'm saying, Like you you might not like somebody,
but you respect it. Do you do it for the
people that that changed music? You see what I'm saying.
(14:36):
Like for me, I've got Elvis, And I'm not a
huge Elvis fan. I'm I'm I'm Elvis is growing on
me a little bit now that I'm getting old and
and that, and I think it's probably from when I
was a kid, everybody loved Elvis, so I you know,
I was the boycotter Anti. But I've got Elvis, I've
(14:57):
got the Beatles, I've got Chuck Berry because without Chuck
Berry that you don't have. You probably don't have the Beatles.
You probably don't have the Rolling Stones. I mean they were,
they were emulating Chuck Berry back in those days. My
fourth is hard because like I look at like influence,
(15:23):
I look at personal, I look at longevity. So my fourth, like,
I mean, then you.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
Could throw in there like sales, Platinum, records, gold, you
know those.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
And and and I think I'm gonna go with this
because I this was my mantra anytime that I was
working as a bartender and you had a mixed crowd that,
you know, like different kinds of music. So you'd have
people that like the rock and roll, you had people
that like country, you had people like easy listening. My
(16:02):
fourth is Fleetwood Mac and the reason being and the
reason being, and I've always said this, it doesn't matter
if you put on Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits, nobody complains, Yeah,
like everybody could. Everybody can say okay, even if you're
not a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, you can say, okay,
I this isn't bothering me.
Speaker 6 (16:24):
Man, I didn't even think of them.
Speaker 8 (16:26):
All.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
That makes me mad. So all I'm torn now.
Speaker 8 (16:29):
But they I mean, like I mean some of the
other ones, I mean, how do you how do you
not maybe put the Rolling Stones on there. Michael Jackson
was already said Smoky Robinson for his I mean, just
Motown alone, Smoky. You know, you could put Barry Gordy
on there for all that matter, you know, even though
he wasn't really a singer, or Quincy Jones or somebody
like that.
Speaker 6 (16:48):
But look what they did to the Yah. Jack on
Facebook says the doors. Yeah, we got a couple of me.
Speaker 8 (16:56):
I can see that.
Speaker 6 (16:57):
We've got a couple more on Facebook, and then of
course I've got list.
Speaker 8 (17:00):
Okay, we'll get to this here in a little bit,
and I'm sure you're going to we're talking airport traveling next.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
Yeah, you're going to shake your head at it. Oh
with you Soccer seven twenty eight. You're listening to the
bloom Ditty Experience, samon Otis News Radio at eleven seventy WWVA.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
A lot of people are traveling this summer.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Maybe you you know, the Transportation Security Administration security protocols
could be in for another shakeup, this time involving the
long standing limits on carry on liquids. Want to bring
on Jay Ratliffe, aviation expert. Jay, thanks for being on
the show.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Now.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
This is coming days after the TSA entered the shoes
off policy and more than two months after the real
ID enforcement deadline.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
What's going on.
Speaker 7 (17:44):
Here, Well, the technology is improving, and as such, what
they're saying is, can the technology improve to the point
that we can make it easier for people to get
through the security checkpoint? And you know, sometimes we're bad
for not changing things because that's the way we've done
it forever at it we're going to just keep on
doing it. But the TSAs is trying to figure out
a way how can we expedite the screening of people
(18:07):
through the security checkpoint without obviously sacrificing anything that has
to do with with security and safety. So the thought
is we may very well get to the point where
we can maybe the TSA three one one rules, you know,
requiring the carry on luggage to have nothing more than
three point four ounces or less of you know, liquids
(18:28):
might be amended, changed, increased, eliminated. We don't know. We'll
have to wait and see, all.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Right, So a lot of passages are going to be
cheering this. But are we creating a playbook for would
be terrorists here?
Speaker 7 (18:39):
You know, I don't think so, because we're always going
to have like the shoes. We're being told we can
now keep our shoes on, which is great going through
the security checkpoint, but that doesn't mean that, you know, bloomedady,
they won't continue to do random checks where they have
people coming over taking their shoes off, those kinds of things,
and they'll continue to do the random checks like this
with any sort of a liquid type situation that's going
(19:01):
to occur as well. So the beauty of having an
ample security net is to try to make sure that
you keep things moving in a random type of way
at times, so that if anybody is trying to get
something through the security checkpoint, you can do everything you
can to try to thwart that. And I guarantee that
they won't be making changes just for the sake of
(19:22):
change unless they can guarantee as much as humanly possible
that they're going to maintain the safety levels that we
need to have, because remember the TSA has through the
summer almost three million chances of the day to screw up,
and as a result, they do a pretty good job.
Now they're not perfect that things get through. That shouldn't
I hear from people all the time, it said, Jay,
(19:42):
you'll never believe this happened to me. And you know,
but again, the technology being what it is, is still
being operated by human beings that have the possibility of
you know, making mistakes. That happens, and as a result,
we'll do everything we can to increase that technology to
at least reduce those occurrences.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
So, Jay, this has less to do with the TSA
becoming more relaxed and more to do with better technology
to detect these things.
Speaker 7 (20:11):
Absolutely, And I think that was the message that was
communicated was that, you know, the Department of Homeland Security saying, look,
we're talking with a lot of these companies about specific
technology that could allow us to achieve the goal of
having more people and having a less passle for lack
of a better word, at the security checkpoint. And the
(20:32):
way they do this is they'll roll out a few
pilot programs at certain airports around the country where they'll
test it to see if the equipment is going to
do what it should be doing and making sure that
the failure rate is minimal, and then if they like
what they see, they're going to move it across the country.
It's a lot like we're seeing the test with a
lot of the facial recognition technology that we're kind of
(20:54):
moving towards with a lot of the increased artificial intelligence
type of thing where you show up at the ticket
counter out front, they scan your your face, boom you're
checked in in a matter of seconds. You don't have
to dig your ID out t SA checkpoint. I'll have
facial recognition as well, unless you opt out of it,
where they can scan and boom you're through. And eventually
(21:14):
airlines want to have a gate area that is absent
of any airline employees, where it would be a fully
automated process using facial recognition and to get us on
the airplane. I don't think that's going to work as
we have now, but we'll have to wait and see,
because look, they would have loved to eliminate every single employee.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Right, good, all right, Jay, always appreciate your time. Thank
you anytime, Brother GOTSI. Jay Ratliffe, Aviation expert.
Speaker 6 (21:38):
Well isn't this fun to think about being somebody that's
about to fly in August? I hope they have some
sort of plan or they have things set in stone
with all these different changes they're making. I think I'm
going to prepare as if the rules were still in
place and there aren't possible changes. No, I hate traveling.
(22:02):
I love a vacation, Don't get me wrong. I hate
the traveling day. I hate it. I absolutely hate it.
I my my OCD kicks in, my paranoia kick kicks in.
I'm afraid I'm gonna forget something. Ask my husband when
we leave for the airport at three o'clock in the
morning or whatever it needs to be, how many times
(22:23):
I make him drive past our garage doors to make
sure they're shut, back and forth, up and down the street.
He goes. It's like blink, blink. He's like, are you
seeing them? They're closed? They're closed. Do you see them?
They're closed? I double check for passports everything else. For
some reason, I kick into overdrive with with crazy concerns.
Here here, here's a statistic for you. Do not let
(22:46):
this happen. First of all, a recent study has linked
improved health and well being the more vacations you take. Well, yeah, shocker, Yeah,
that's not that's not a big groundbreaking story. This is though.
American workers in the year twenty eighteen left left did
(23:11):
not use seven hundred and sixty eight million vacation days
left unused at the end of twenty eighteen.
Speaker 8 (23:24):
I'm never leaving them on the table.
Speaker 6 (23:25):
I'm guilty of that.
Speaker 8 (23:27):
I'm allowed to. I have my carry over.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
See I don't.
Speaker 8 (23:31):
And if it gets the December, I just take it.
As we get closer to the end of the year,
and I do my evaluation because I think I'm allowed
to carry you know, like I think it's three hundred
and twenty hours if I'm anywhere close to that, Like
if I think i'm gonna I'll take two or three
extra days and I'll come in under just so I
because I'm not leaving them on the table.
Speaker 6 (23:51):
Yeah, I hate, I hate to admit it, but I.
Speaker 8 (23:53):
Have sometimes I like to save him. Because here's the
thing what helped me. Nine years ago, ten years ago,
I was off for an entire year. So once my
vacation time and my sick leave expired, I was still off.
So you can donate your your vacation time. You can't
donate sick leave, but you can donate vacation time to
(24:14):
somebody that needs it. In that way, they still get paid.
Oh so it's called donated leave.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
Never heard of that.
Speaker 8 (24:23):
Yeah, and then so what they did, I mean, I
was able to get paid for three months thanks to
my coworkers. Wow.
Speaker 6 (24:29):
Wow, that's amazing. I've never heard of that type of setup.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (24:33):
So, like, but you have to be able to be
eligible for it. You have to exhaust everything, gotcha.
Speaker 6 (24:38):
So yeah, I uh, planning a vacation, cannot wait to
go in August. But again, don't leave vacation days on
the table. Like I said, I'm guilty of it. I'm
guilty of it every year. I just I can't get
them all in. I know that's I just can't make
them fit. And sometimes, you know, preparing for a vacation
(24:59):
like quadrue your workload so that you can have the
time off. And sometimes it's like wife and bother just
go to work. I don't know, that's just me. Here's
a new trend though, in vacation traveling.
Speaker 8 (25:14):
Hmm.
Speaker 6 (25:15):
New trend hitting twenty twenty five travel season. Honeymooners. What okay?
Honeymooners are bringing their parents on the honeymoon.
Speaker 8 (25:28):
No, yep. First off, if my kids ever get married,
I don't want to be on their honeymoon.
Speaker 6 (25:34):
In laws are inviting themselves.
Speaker 8 (25:38):
Nope, I think boundaries that's little. Yeah, I mean, unless
you're like on a wedding, like a destination wedding.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
And that's what I was gonna say. I we were
a destination wedding. We got married in Jamaica and we
had it is legal. You should see my no, you
should see my marriage certificate. It's got like a flamingo
on it and a palm tree. When I brought it
back here and was doing the documentation with the Social
Security Office and everything, that poor girl looked at it like, uh,
(26:16):
is this legit? It's all colorful. But anyways, we did that.
We had a destination wedding and I think we had
sixteen people total, including my parents and his parents. That's different, sure,
but this is saying just you and your in laws
going on your honeymoon. That's just weird. I'm sorry, that's weird.
(26:38):
It's great, have a great relationship with your parents, completely
support that. They don't need to be on your honeymoon
unless it's something like we just described a destination. But no,
I don't want to wake up to mom.
Speaker 8 (26:54):
And dad well, live to god, you're not in the
same room.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
No, no, no, but I don't want to meet them
for brack Like, no, no, that's a that's a weird trend.
Hopefully that dies out.
Speaker 8 (27:05):
Eating for Glaze Donuts?
Speaker 6 (27:09):
Where did Glaze dodusk?
Speaker 8 (27:11):
You know what?
Speaker 6 (27:11):
Don't even explain it to me? Seven forty six. Don't

(27:55):
roll this morning. We are doing on our text line

Speaker 8 (28:16):
That didn't come out?
Speaker 6 (28:17):
Yeah, that was not coming out right. And then of course,
like I said, we're talking rock and roll this morning,
Mount Rushmore. What four should be on the Mount Rushmore
for rock, whether it's an individual or a band. We
got on our text line otis we've got Alice Cooper.
(28:38):
This person first saw him on the Welcome to My
Nightmare Tour. Okay, let's see ZZ Top three Dog Night. Okay,
this text is confusing me, so okay, Mount Rushmore of rock.
Alice Cooper first saw him Welcome to My Nightmare Tour.
James Gang with Joe Walls opened ZZ Top three Dog
(29:02):
Night when Corey Wells, Danny Hutton and Chuck Nagron. Where
the group we're with the group Doobie Brothers when Michael
McDonald's as president, William William, I don't. I can't. Yeah, okay,
thanks William. Not exactly sure what all you were trying
to get across, but I picked got a.
Speaker 8 (29:23):
Couple of we got a couple of the names, Alice.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
Cooper, Doobie Brothers.
Speaker 8 (29:27):
We got you there, Yeah, three Dog Night. I I
respect them as a band, but I don't think they're
Mount Rushmore material.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
No, No, And you know.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
Alice Cooper, Well, I mean I can, I can, I
can maybe give him ZZ top.
Speaker 6 (29:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (29:54):
I mean, but again it's all subjective. I mean, your
Mount Rushmore is your Mount Rushmore. I mean that's you
because you're but there's not really we didn't set any criteria,
so I mean, if it's what you like, that's.
Speaker 7 (30:05):
What you like.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
Well, before I give you my Mount Rushmore, can we
please talk about the bust of an affair heard around
the world yesterday? Because they ride a rock concert. Yeah, well,
if you consider cold Play rock on I can't stand
cold Play.
Speaker 9 (30:23):
It was packed.
Speaker 8 (30:25):
Well, they put up a kiss cam and so like
the first couple that they do, they get into it,
they smile, they give each other a little smoochie and
have fun with it. And then they move on to
the next couple and he stands behind her with his
arms around her waist, and when they see that they're
on the camera, they dove faster than the Titanic.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
Yes they did, Yes they did.
Speaker 8 (30:50):
And like the memes that have come out, like in
the T shirt that you showed me because I had
to reset side and I can't have it there.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
It's amazing how quickly people come up with stuff. But
you said I didn't watch the video, I didn't listen
to the video. But you said. Chris Martin, the lead singer,
even said something from the stage.
Speaker 8 (31:10):
Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, I mean he said, oh,
he said, look at that. They're either they're either extremely
shy or they're having an affair. Yeah, here's here's the quote. Oh,
look at these two. Either they're having an affair or
they're just very shy.
Speaker 6 (31:28):
Bingo, good going Chris Martin. Yeah, yeah, yikes, yikes. That
is not what you want to go viral for.
Speaker 8 (31:37):
Well, here's the thing. This is the other thing. If
they would have just stood there, nobody would have yeah,
you know, other than the people that were at the show,
nobody would have seen anything or or known anything. But
by doing the dive and you know, not wanting to
be on camera, that's what that's what's set off all
the red flags.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (31:57):
Yeah, So just remember if you're cheating on somebody, you
get caught on this kiss cam, just ride it out,
my man, just with the yeah yikes.
Speaker 6 (32:06):
Yeah, those people were the big losers of yesterday, along
with Stephen Colbert saw that big announcement CBS ending canceling
the Late Show, not only just this one, they're completely
retiring the franchise. Altogether. Mm saw that, And of course
(32:28):
the Democrats are losing it. They're saying it's because he's
anti Trump, but now his ratings sock. That's what it
comes down to. And broadcast television is it's it's not.
The streaming world is dominating. So this has nothing to
do with politics. This has nothing to do with favoritism
because of the president. It has to do with the
fact that, first of all, the show sucks. It just does.
(32:50):
It's awful. He in no way, shape or form is
funny and he didn't even come close.
Speaker 8 (32:58):
Well they did. They're all Trump bashers, that's why.
Speaker 6 (33:00):
Yeah, yeah, so anyways, but it's just there's a quick
meme here.
Speaker 8 (33:04):
Okay, it says it's like a dictionary, so it says
cold played verb the act of being unintentionally exposed while cheating,
especially in public, usually during major events too, to be
seen at the wrong place, with the wrong person at
the wrong time. They use it as an example. Bro
thought he was safe in a crowd of eighty thousand.
(33:24):
He got cold played hard. There's also related terms snapchure,
when someone snaps a pick that ruined your life.
Speaker 6 (33:36):
I wonder if he even made it home before his
wife started seeing all the video if he even made
it in the front door.
Speaker 8 (33:44):
So what's your Mount Rushmore?
Speaker 5 (33:45):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (33:45):
My Mount Rushmore? Okay, Elvis, Okay, can't argue Zeppelin, can't
argue Nirvana because they changed, they were they completely changed
the genre.
Speaker 8 (33:58):
I get it. Yeah, I mean, I understand it, and I'm.
Speaker 6 (34:01):
Torn between Metallica and ac DC.
Speaker 8 (34:04):
If I'm going with I'm going with ac DC before
I get with Metallica.
Speaker 6 (34:07):
Okay, That's that's kind of the direction I was heading.
So Elvis, ac DC, Zeppelin and Nirvana that is other.
Speaker 8 (34:14):
Than Elvis, Like you're like, that's hard hitting right there.
Speaker 6 (34:18):
That's what I hear rock. That's what I think of rock. Okay,
I don't think of who did you say, Barry White?
Speaker 8 (34:23):
No, no, I said Chuck Berry Chuck Berry Berry White.
Speaker 6 (34:27):
Barry White's the one that's saying the love songs right
with the voice that was close right?
Speaker 8 (34:32):
No, not even.
Speaker 6 (34:37):
Oh seven zero four seven zero. That's our text line
name and phone number. Register for your chance to win
four pack to see Kids Bop, Bring the kids, bring
the grand kids, give them to the grand kids, listen,
give them to your kids.
Speaker 8 (34:52):
Want to send a bunch of eight year olds, the
kids bop on your own.
Speaker 6 (34:56):
That's an idea. You're listening to the Blue Daddy Experience
where they ate year olds. This morning.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
D number one Tuck Show in the Ohio Valley. This
is the bloom Daddy Experience. Your host, bloom Daddy. His
goal inform, entertain and tick people off. The bloom Daddy
Experience on news Radio eleven seventy WWVA starts now.
Speaker 6 (35:25):
Well, that's our one in the books. We're on our
two eight oh six, the bloom Daddy Experience, samon Otis
News Radio eleven seventy WWVA to kind of wrap up
our first question for this Friday, which was the Mount
Rushmore of rock. Gonna go over some more of the
responses on Facebook. PJ says black Sabbath, Kiss Mega Death Boy,
(35:47):
haven't heard of Megadeath reference in thirty years.
Speaker 8 (35:52):
We know what pj's style of music is.
Speaker 6 (35:54):
Great, let's see here. Aaron says Rush Metallica. That was
when I was debating food Fighters. Yeah, I don't like
the food Fighters. Black Sabbath, so there's two for Black Sabbath,
and then on our text line, no Iron Maiden. There's
another one I haven't heard for thirty years, so that
(36:16):
kind of wraps it up. And my choices were Elvis, Nirvana, Zeppelin,
and ac DC, and you were.
Speaker 8 (36:23):
I had Elvis, the Beatles, Chuck Berry and I can't
remember my fourth who did I say, Fleetwood Mac Yes,
getting readied it down.
Speaker 6 (36:33):
Yes, because you were torn between a couple and you
were kind of debating.
Speaker 8 (36:37):
I mean, you could put Buddy Holly on there. I mean,
there's so many people that you that could make it.
And again there's no wrong answers. No, although I mean
I would think you kind of have to go. It
almost has to be with the exception of maybe Nirvana,
and I would even though I'm not a huge fan,
but Guns N' Roses, oh, because I mean they kind
(37:00):
of they were game changers.
Speaker 6 (37:04):
Nobody said Queen.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (37:06):
I mean, if if if I could go see a
concert like of anybody that's like so that you get
any rock and roll person in history, here, here are gone,
Here are gone. You know, uh, like Queen and Prince
would be at the top of my list. There's no
I mean, and there's nobody that's going to surpass that. Well,
because I've seen it. I mean I've seen so many
(37:27):
concerts like but there's.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
Artists, but then there's performers.
Speaker 8 (37:32):
You know, well, you know somebody, there's a there's a
Facebook thing that the guy holds records up and he
the he'll ask a question and he'll say, he's here
are my suggestions, And one of them is one of
the questions, was greatest front man of all time? Mm hmm,
And yeah, you probably have. There's two that just pop
(37:52):
into your head right away. Freddy Freddy and Mick Jagger
mm hm. You know, to the greatest front men of
all time?
Speaker 6 (38:00):
Yeah, Freddie Mercury is the first one that immediately comes
to mind immediately.
Speaker 8 (38:05):
But you know, Freddie also probably learned a little bit
from Mick. You see what I'm saying. Mick was Mick
was doing it before Freddy, so Freddie probably to you know,
Freddie had his own style, but Mick was the one
that created the style.
Speaker 6 (38:22):
I got you, I got youa So that was our
first question. Now let's move on to the second question
because I had fun with this one. I'm the movie person,
you're you're the music person. So the reason this came
up was because yesterday a story came out because Darth
Vader's lightsaber from Star Wars is up for auction, and
(38:45):
we're talking big dollars here. So we were putting this
to you. What is a classic movie prop that you
would love to own? Something you would love to own
from a from a classic movie? And I had some
fun with this.
Speaker 8 (39:03):
Well, just and I didn't print the story off because
I know you won't know what it is. But in
the movie Citizen Kane, uh huh from the thirties or forties,
Rosebud was the sled. It just sold a auction for
like over fourteen million dollars.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 8 (39:19):
So there's an iconic wow movie movie piece.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
Okay, so we're gonna go to our Facebook first. Justin
said someone beat me to it. But he would want
the Dolorean from Back to the Future.
Speaker 8 (39:34):
Okay, probably wouldn't run, but okay.
Speaker 6 (39:38):
Marissa says, the original ghost face mask from the original
Scream movie. That's not a bad one because that became
an iconic mask. I mean it's used in tons of stuff.
Nicholas says, Crocodile Dundee's hat.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (39:54):
I might want his knife. That's not anif. That's annoyf.
Speaker 6 (40:00):
Oh, what's one that comes to mind for you?
Speaker 8 (40:02):
Will you go first? I went first on Rock and Roll.
Speaker 6 (40:04):
Oh, okay, you want me to go first. I have
a bunch. So my first thought was the treasure map
from Goonies, the map that they find in the attic
and that whole thing. That was one of the first
ones that comes to mind.
Speaker 8 (40:18):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (40:20):
Then I went to Indiana Jones and everybody's gonna say
the bull whip or his iconic fedora that you know,
the hat I want from the first the Boulder scene, okay,
and he's swapping out that little round, funny little statue
and he has to do it. I want the statue
(40:40):
that he's trying to swap out with the Oh yeah, yeah,
I want that statue. So that's that's two too that
I've come up with. So I've got I've got a list.
Speaker 8 (40:48):
I have a couple. Okay, the Indiana Jones fedor, it
just looks cool. Yeah, it looks And you can take
Crocodile Dundee's.
Speaker 6 (40:56):
I mean, oh, I take Indies any day.
Speaker 8 (40:58):
Yeah, I think Indies is better. I would want Chevy
Chase's Los Angeles Lakers jersey from the movie Fletch Okay,
because it's funny because in the movie like he's in
a dream sequence and Chick Hern who was the announcer
for the Lakers. He says, oh, and starting for the
(41:21):
Lakers is Fletch six six six' nine with the's Afro
chevy's got her wig on and he's number ninety nine
and it Says fletch on the. Back classic or Because
i'm a sports, Guy Kevin Costner's Detroit tigers jersey and
hat from For love of The, Game BECAUSE i will say,
(41:44):
THIS i love the Old english font and that's what's
on The Detroit tigers hat and it's it's the then
they're in their home jerseys and it's the it's the
Old english d on the left. CHEST i just think that's.
Awesome and then it Says chapman on the, back and you,
KNOW i think that would be cool to.
Speaker 6 (42:01):
Have there's so many because out there.
Speaker 8 (42:05):
With Vin scully calling the game in that, movie Like
vin will never die because of that. Movie and it's
just When Vince, Scully Vince scully for, me makes that
movie as he's commentating on the on The Perfect.
Speaker 6 (42:22):
Game so there's there's just there's so many things out.
There you were talking hat the HAT i came up
with the winter hat That Uncle eddie wears and A
christmas story and he's you, know in.
Speaker 8 (42:38):

Speaker 6 (42:42):

Speaker 9 (45:32):
Plant my, goodness everything's blowing.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Off that's.
Speaker 6 (45:35):
Great, Yeah So i'm gonna pose our first. Question, Sure
Mount rushmore of rock and.
Speaker 9 (45:40):
Roll, yeah that's a hard. One we stamped you it,
did it, Did And i'll show my age WHEN i
went with The, beatles The, who The stones and Led.
Zeppelin and then of, course you know that's leaving off
one of my favorite, bands which Is. Acd's that's leaving
(46:01):
off a band THAT i know doesn't belong but my favorite,
Band Grand Funk. Railroad but you leave so many.
Speaker 8 (46:07):
Off and remember it's all subjective, here, right and.
Speaker 9 (46:10):
We were thrown. Out i've never bought into. MUCH i
never really listened much To Bob, dylan but, man all
the acclaim and all the people that refer to him
as one of the. Greats you, know when the greats
start to discuss, greats and we'll probably talk about this
one that was just here a few days ago about.
(46:30):
It when the greats identify people as the, greatest you
really got to take a look and, say, Well i've
missed something On, dylan Or i've missed. SOMETHING i wasn't
a Huge beatles fan growing, up didn't listen to him,
much but have started to listen to them now and
you recognize just the.
Speaker 8 (46:50):
Talent there's a band out there that only had two
albums and after the first album one of the members,
died so they went from five to four war but
two of the greatest albums ever and it's The Traveling.
Speaker 9 (47:03):
Wilberry's oh, yeah because it Was.
Speaker 8 (47:06):
Bob, Dylan George, Harrison Tom, Petty Roy, orb And Jeff
lynn From. Yellow.
Speaker 6 (47:13):
Yeah they were all in a band, again.
Speaker 9 (47:15):
Ye same, Band, Yep, yeah that's true and they were.
Great oh, man that you're, right that was a Great
when you look at the.
Speaker 8 (47:23):
Hey you got all rock And Roll hall of, Famers George,
harrison two time rock And Roll hall Of, famer you,
know and you're sitting there and like they the funny
thing is just real. Quick the funny thing about The
Traveling milberry is they would Say Tom petty would sit
around AND i guess with Like Jeff lynn or, somebody
and they'd be sitting there just watching, somebody and they,
go you think he's A. Willberry you think he's A.
(47:44):
Willberry because they all had names for, Themselves like they
didn't use. That they use, pseudonyms you, know amongst, themselves
not not, publicly but like one of them was Like
Wilbur willberry and the other one was you, know they
had like Goofy wally country hick. Names.
Speaker 9 (48:00):
Yeah when you take an analogy out of basketball and
the you, know those great super mega teams to put
all the great players together on one, team that's what
The Traveling wilbury's.
Speaker 8 (48:10):
Was, yeah it was. Incredible.
Speaker 6 (48:11):
Yeah ronald On facebook right along the same lines as, You,
howard he just chimed in and said Rolling, Stones Fleetwood,
mac The, beatles and Then Brett michael.
Speaker 8 (48:21):
What What, yeah that's like a sesame street, thing which
one of these things does not.
Speaker 9 (48:28):
Belong he hit three homers and then popped up the
short stop on that. One but, YEAH i Don't and
we had mentioned Also Fleetwood mac's a great call in.
That i've been on a run recently listening TO i
still have the old components stereo at home and all
my CDs and, cossettes And i've been on a run
(48:48):
With Fleetwood Mac. Rumors what an amazing, album maybe the
best ever start to. Finish every song on there is.
Amazing So Fleetwood mac's a great. CALL i never would
have thought of.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
THEM i.
Speaker 8 (48:59):
Think the one thing About, rumors the reason it's so
good is because they were hating each other right at the.
Speaker 9 (49:03):
Time the, intensity yeah, right came through in the. Music so,
Yeah so that's a Great that's a really difficult one
to get it down to. Four oh, man there's there's no.
Way you'll definitely start some barroom battles your debates over that.
Speaker 8 (49:19):
One, well and it all depends on your taste of.
Music and then what what are the what's the? Criteria
are you talking? Influencers because then how do you Leave
Buddy holly off, right you, know or how do you
Leave Little richard or somebody Like Jerry Lee. Lewis you,
know there's so many of them that you could throw in, there.
Speaker 9 (49:35):
And you take. It when you take my, list for,
instance you can TELL i grew up in the, seventies,
RIGHT i mean it's so, obvious, right those bands were
the bands you can tell my age by WHO i
WHO i, chose and WHO i would have on the
second four.
Speaker 8 (49:52):
Like Smokey, Robinson Michael. Jackson, yeah, yeah you. GOT i
mean there are. PEOPLE i, mean if you left somebody,
OFF i, mean it's only be because like nobody Said,
springsteen you, know and you talk about, influencer you, KNOW i,
mean how many people have Covered springsteen, songs you, know
Or John mellencamp for that, Matter Billy. JOEL i, mean
there's so many of them out.
Speaker 9 (50:11):
There, yeah that's a that's a really great one.
Speaker 6 (50:14):
Man and again it fits in. PERFECTLY i Said, Zeppelin
you Said. Zeppelin and Then, wednesday how did this? Happen like, Seriously,
Wheeling West virginia is In Rolling stone because of this.
Speaker 8 (50:26):
ANNOUNCED i saw that.
Speaker 9 (50:27):
Article that's that's great to have a shout out like.
That it's just the WAY i would sort of describe.
This and, again you, know we don't know a lot
of what's going on. Either you, know you have to
to find out what's coming real, soon real. Quickly things move.
Quickly i'd like to hope that it's the momentum that we're,
(50:48):
building you, know and with the diversity the different shows we're,
doing the different. People our executive, Director Kelly, tucker was
approached by a promoter that we've not worked with. Before
so she's not only expanding out the different offerings that we,
have but now we're able to show a little bit of.
Momentum and, right, yeah and we're expanding out with some
(51:11):
of the different promoters and and they're dealing with different
agents that represent different bands and. Whatnot and if you
take a look at the, schedule it's really incredible in
that the tour starts here And wheeling at The Capitol,
theater and then the rest of the cities none of
them are near the size of our market or the
(51:33):
size of the. Building you. Know they go To, Charlottesville,
Virginia they go To, Brooklyn New, york they go To,
boston they go To, toronto two shows In, chicago and
then they swing out, west you, Know, seattle they finish
IN La and it's. GREAT i think it's a word
also gets around the momentum among the bands and the
(51:53):
agents of what the feedback is of the.
Speaker 6 (51:57):
Facility, well and again we didn't even. Say we're talking
About Robert plant coming In october thirtieth here to The Capitol.
Theater and that's one. Thing we're talking to a lot
of past people who have come through the, theater whether
they're local artists are. Traveling i've always been told what
an amazing facility this is to perform in, acoustically and
(52:19):
like you, said that starts to kind of gay, momentum
and that spreads through a lot of the artists that

whether it's for the, kids for the older, generation for the,
ladies for the. DUDES i, mean you guys are covering
the gamut when it comes to the potential audience that
you bring in here to The capitol Or West Bank.
Arena BUT i want to go back to we were
talking About Robert. Plant but what happened earlier this, week
(53:34):
which is of course guitar. Legend Buddy. Guy you were, There,
otis you were, there, Ye so what were your?
Speaker 9 (53:41):
Thoughts oh my, goodness we saw, history didn't.
Speaker 4 (53:43):
We.
Speaker 9 (53:44):
YAH i have to, say, yeah we saw. History and
again going back to a little bit of WHAT i said,
earlier the greats are. Greats Eric. Clapton there's a name we've,
Forgot Eric, clapton And traffic And cream and everything like,
that But Jeff. Beck But Eric clapton says That Buddy
guy's the greatest guitarist to ever. Live and WHAT i
(54:05):
saw him play his guitar with a city policeman helped
him strum his. GUITAR a young man with his dad
in this in the crowd strummed buddy, Guitar Buddy guy's.
Guitar he played it with a violin. Bo he played
it with a, towel right he. Did he played it Was.
Speaker 6 (54:26):
He played his guitar with a, towel.
Speaker 9 (54:28):
Had his left hand on the neck and he hit
where the right hand strums with a towel and it sound.
Incredible i'm telling, you. Unbelievable and the plays sounded. Great
and we were talking about acoustics. Here Justin malarkey is
our director of operations here for the, theater and his
background is very deep and sound and. Audio he's an
(54:51):
INCREDIBLE i learned so much from him about the sound
and soundboards and how to manage sound THAT i just
never really paid much attention, to, Right but there's a
science to. It he's. Amazing and he says that these
shows that come in and the acts that come in
rave about the facility, itself and they really enjoy playing
(55:11):
here because of many of the things that go into a,
show including the acoustics and how they. Sound it's. Amazing,
well and then of.
Speaker 6 (55:22):
Course the big Announcement wednesday Was Robert.
Speaker 9 (55:24):
Plant, yeah he's coming in with a band Called Saving.
Grace it's a band that he's sort of filtered in
and out, with but it's more of a home area
where he's. From these players are generally geographically located around,
him and thus they put more of an emphasis on
that type of music that they grew up around into
(55:47):
their interpretations of their. Music so it's almost like a
local flavor to music that they go and play. Internationally
right they're doing some shows over In europe right. NOW
i believe they played this week In. France they've got
some scheduling and then they're working on an album that'll
(56:10):
be out the end Of, september and then they'll be
Here october thirtieth with, us kicking off a tour that's
basically a month and you, know the starts In wheeling
at The Capitol theater and then it goes Into, Charlottesville,
virginia up Into. Brooklyn they play a second you, know
there's a Second Capitol theater In New York.
Speaker 8 (56:30):
State there's one In colorado, too is.
Speaker 9 (56:33):
There, well there's This Capitol theater they're going to play
as In New York, state and then they go To, Boston, Toronto,
chicago end up on The West, coast and the last
shows In Los, angeles and we're fortunate enough to kick
it off and we know that the acoustics are gonna
going to be great for.
Speaker 8 (56:52):
Him, well you, know the one thing is When aerosmith
was here the first, time they Liked wheeling so much
that they kicked their next tour off In wheeling At
West Bank.
Speaker 9 (57:00):
Arena did not know? That, yeah, YEAH i did not know. That,
boy that'd be a great one to get back. To
but you, know this is the kind of thing that
can really give us. Momentum this and some other announcements
that are coming. Up you, know, yeah we've got more
coming seize me.
Speaker 6 (57:14):
With any upcoming, Annus we've got.
Speaker 9 (57:17):
Some we've got one coming Out monday THAT i think
everybody will be happy to. Hear and it's just to
build that. Momentum and there's diversity when you take a
look at our. Schedule, yes this show is getting all
the notoriety right now and it Is october, thirtieth but
when you look at the schedule for The Capitol theater For,
october it's unbelievable and we have great stuff In august
(57:39):
And september leading up to. It you, Know august Two
sundays in a, row we have in this Moment august.
Third then we Have Teresa Caputo august. Tenth you go Into,
september we Have Steep Canyon rangers With Crandall creek. Here
On september, twelfth we've Got Celtic, thunder Which i'm not familiar,
with but everybody raises raves about. Them then you roll
(58:01):
Into october and Our october schedule is Just Wild Killer
queen on the, second rock And Roll duop the next,
installments which everybody. Loves they come to it and they love.
It that's On saturday the. Fourth then we go To otis's,
Show Elvis costello on A, tuesday.
Speaker 8 (58:19):
Now The rock And Roll hall Of. Famer i'm checking off.
Speaker 9 (58:22):
Check that week. Out it Goes Elvis, Costello, Coco Melon, Master,
Chef Vampire. Circus there'll be a concert on the eleventh
that will be announced. Later the twelfth Is John cleve, later,
yeah the twelfth Is John. Kleeve it's amazing just that that.
Speaker 6 (58:43):
Schedule, See, okay SO i want to go. Back you
tease an announcement For. Monday, yeah. Okay is that gonna
come out at?
Speaker 4 (58:50):
Ten?
Speaker 9 (58:50):
Yes?
Speaker 8 (58:51):
Okay can we say what the genre?
Speaker 6 (58:53):
IS i was gonna, Say i'm gonna ask three.
Speaker 9 (58:55):
Questions as far As i'm gonna.
Speaker 7 (58:57):
Go.
Speaker 8 (58:58):
No is it? Music?
Speaker 9 (59:00):
Oh, yeah, okay, okay, Okay, yeah it's.
Speaker 8 (59:02):
Amusing it's like your twenty. Questions is it animal?
Speaker 3 (59:06):
Exactly?
Speaker 9 (59:08):
Yeah, Right and those questions just get me closer to the.
Speaker 6 (59:11):
Edge is it a band or a single?
Speaker 9 (59:13):
PERFORMER i don't all, right it's not one That i'm familiar.
Speaker 8 (59:19):
With, okay SO i don't.
Speaker 9 (59:21):
Know, yeah but you, Guys, Yeah and that's the kind
of thing that we REALLY i was fortunate enough to
be honored to be invited to The Lions Club wednesday
to talk a little bit about what we're, doing AND
i gave them the analogy of if you take a
look at a, wheel we're trying to make the theater
(59:42):
and the arena the center the hub of that, wheel,
right and everybody that sort of migrates this, way we're
the magnet to bring. In and whether you you head
off To vagabond Or Ellen jack's for, dinner or Hit
waterfront haul end up At Heritage, port we always want
you to think of we're gonna go to The. Capitol
we're looking at what's going on at The, capitol what's
(01:00:04):
happening in the. Arena when it ramps back, up when
we want you to come down and take a look
at this as a three four five block walking district.
City where are we going to? Go but always we
want you to keep looking At, hey there might be
something new at The. Capitol there may be something new
for me at The. Capitol and then start to bring
(01:00:25):
people in to visit our.
Speaker 6 (01:00:27):
City and you mentioned the father son duo that was
a buddy guy this. Week we're From. Pittsburgh so now
it was. Amazing right now that person has gone back To,
pittsburgh will probably come back to more shows and he'll
tell the story of what he got to do bringing
new faces To.
Speaker 8 (01:00:43):
Wheeling, well you, know the comparable venue In pittsburgh to
The Capital theater would be The benedhem Cent and you,
KNOW i, mean but again you're Talking, pittsburgh it's a
little bit. BIGGER i, Mean i've seen a show there.
Myself you, know it's, nice and that's where The Stanley
theater used to.
Speaker 9 (01:00:59):
Be, YEAH i haven't.
Speaker 8 (01:01:00):
BEEN i Saw springsteen There. Acoustie oh my, gosh so you,
know and then that's years. Ago, yeah, so but it's you,
know we have to compete With pittsburgh because we're only
sixty miles, away, right and then you have you, know
you throw in the racetrack that you, know maybe pulls in,
somebody you, know like they've had three dog night there
(01:01:21):
or you know In. Washington you, Know wheeling basically does cover,
bands but they they've actually they had the time they
had you, know all kind of you, know different genres of.
Music but you know that's what we're competing with, too.
Speaker 9 (01:01:32):
Right and the nice thing that works for, us especially
With Robert plant And Saving, grace is No, pittsburgh No,
columbus No, cleveland No, charleston No. Morgantown and that really
helps us from a geographic standpoint to draw and a
track so many different. People you gave me goosebumps when
you talk to me about that father and his. Son
that was a great part of the show With Buddy.
(01:01:54):
Guy he was walking through the, crowd lets the little,
boys strum his, guitar and THEN i meet the dad
at the concession, stand and then he talks to me
again after the show and just a life experience that
a father and his young son had with buddy guy
here at The Capitol. Theater hopefully we'll, cultivate you, know
(01:02:15):
two fans and then their neighbors and their friends and
they come down and see what we're all.
Speaker 6 (01:02:19):
About that's how it. Happens, yeah it's word of. Mouth
i've said it my entire. Career best form of marketing
out there is word of mouth and.
Speaker 9 (01:02:27):
Recommendations and what goes into that is once they get,
here it's got to be quality program and a quality.
Show and that's the nice thing about the, theater, yeah
is we.
Speaker 6 (01:02:37):
Can got the quality venue.
Speaker 9 (01:02:38):
Right quality venue With. Yeah so it was. Great that
was a great. EXPERIENCE i really enjoyed. It it's great
to see a, legend, right he'll be eighty nine the
end of the month and a new album comes. Out,
unbelievable nothing like.
Speaker 6 (01:02:52):
Feel like an. Underachiever, yeah but that's every day for.
Speaker 8 (01:02:56):
You see WHAT i put up?
Speaker 6 (01:02:58):
